Order Numbers: 4850, 7015 & 14673 UPDATE. to resolve the below-mentioned issue regarding our hardwood flooring. On August 23, 2023, after several weeks we placed our initial order of approximately 3350 sq ft On September 27, 2023, the order was delivered to our new home. we noticed that the final quote submitted by Jim had changed from Light Rustic to Rustic without our knowledge or authorization. When we brought this detail to his attention, he assured us not to worry about the quote and that he was sure we received Light Rustic White Oak because that is what he communicated to the mill, and further, that Light Rustic is what he saw when he went to Saroyan to check on our order. Only later did he admit that it's possible a mistake was made somewhere and that he'd look into it. After months of back and forth with Jim, a trip to Saroyan in San Marcos to confirm how Light Rustic White Oak is represented onsite, as well as countless conversations and meetings at our house with other wood manufacturers, inspectors, professional installers/ refinishers and countless hours of researching, we felt confident that what we received was not what we ordered. We received a call from Jim saying that "there would be no cooperation from Saroyan to resolve the matter and that we were going to have to do what we needed to do". Being a single mother in a new home with her four year old and working full time this has been very painful and costly on my wellbeing. This is when we decided to drive up to Los Angeles and speak to the owners of the Saroyan company directly. We decided if they could show us the flooring we were sold, we would understand. We were then told by the two owners of the company, Saroyan Hardwoods that " I have no idea where this wood came from. We don't have anything like this. shocking as it was to hear the truth, we knew the wood was fraudulent. Despite the NDA they asked us to sign for a reimbursement of $28,000, I would stil come out of pocket another $96,266 to have that wood installed and finished. As consumers, we believe that both before and after the wood was delivered, we were guided by false and intentionally misleading information related to the BRAND, quality, the grade, the condition, and the manufacturing process of the wood we thought we were purchasing. Pictures or raw overage boards in our garage Accidentally cc'd on an internal email between Saroyan employees admitting the outsourcing and fraudulent flooring. Exhibit C3: Here is the final quote, 4850, that was sent to Tait on August 23, 2023 at 5:37pm, that reflects an unauthorized change to the words "Light Rustic" without any verbal or written agreement from us. read more

There was a beautiful, large piece which was much too big for what he needed, and the owner of Saroyan was totally behind cutting him what he needed and being really supportive of this project. Really, this establishment has blown us away with their kindness. He's also been able to source other unique woods from this business. Most of the wood is sold by the board ft. take a tape measure and come up with your own measurements. You will then see how they pad your price. So they charge you a 10% fee which is not posted. The time you're done your real cost per board foot it's much more than they say.....check it out. read more

Walked in. One lady behind the counter -on the phone. Looked around. Was literally the only customer there. Was looking for live edge. Asked one of the guys if they had any. Got a quizzical look. He asked another guy who also had no idea what live edge is. Tried to explain. He pointed me to edge banding. Never mind, how about walnut plywood- how much is that? Directed me to the lady on the phone. Stood in front of her for several minutes before she even acknowledged me. It seems my presence has somehow annoyed her. "Do you have a question?" her attitude threw me for a second but I did get to squeeze in a quick "how much is your walnut plywood?" "Domestic's about $110 a sheet" which begs another question but alas, she had gone back to ignoring me. So, I wait a few more minutes as she tells the guy on the phone that for the small quantity of whatever it was that he was wanting it wouldn't be worth it for him to pay the set up charge blah blah blah. By this time another guy has taken the seat behind the counter. I look over at him considering just walking over and asking him the questions I had. Thought better of it since he was just as intent on pretending that a real live customer was not standing at the counter. Unbelievable. Guess what. You're not the only show in town, Saroyan. Might want to work on your customer service skills. And if you don't want to answer questions about pricing then perhaps you should put some price tags on things. Other places do. Went here after reading the great reviews and after an awful experience at D.L. to price out hardwood plywood for new kitchen cabinets. LOVE this place. Very knowledgeable, friendly, patient with my questions, very good suggestions, and wonderful selection and fantastic prices! On top of that, there was a notice about a future increase of cost of all hardwood and why. That is greatly appreciated. I will be buying the lumber for our cabinets and all other projects that require a higher grade from Saroyan. So glad to have found them. If you need quality hardwoods, go here. read more

Just stopped into Saroyan Hardwoods the other day and was very impressed!!! I've been going there for a while now, and they have made some real, noticeable changes to the place recently. The building has been repainted, organization of the products inside has been changed, and the whole place as a whole is looking very nice. The store is set up where it is easy to find any product, whether its moulding, lumber, etc. The quality of the material is also second to none, and it is easily the premier location to buy hardwood in the San Diego area. Dan and the others who work there are incredibly friendly and will help you with anything you may be looking for. I highly recommend this place if you are a contractor, cabinet shop, or even a hobbyist! read more
