I come here to do the Kids Workshop with my son who is almost 5 years old. I am always impressed with how engaging the staff is in each area of the store, everyone is very friendly and ready to help. The kids workshop is such a nice treat every first Saturday of the month. It's a chance for me and the kiddo to do a fun activity outside of our home without having to worry about spending a ton of money (the workshops are free!) I'm always so happy with the craft too, it's always cute and sometimes even useful- like the napkin holder he just made for November's craft. Most of the really negative reviews here apply to HD in general and at any location. If you need to drive out with enough lumber and other components to build a house, or you want to compare 50 refrigerator or hot water heater models, one of the larger stores like in Watchung or Union are better. This location is much like the old Channel and Rickles, You will find much of what you want without worry of being run over by a forklift or a pallet falling on you from a shelf 50 feet high. read more

I like this location because it tends to not be crowded. The older employees don't seem to wear their masks correctly (sadly) and were a bit more standoffish and curt. However, I had the pleasure of being helped by Melissa in the appliance section. She made sure to really walk me through the process of getting my appliances replaced and was so friendly, knowledgable, and polite. She took care to really find me the item I needed and within the specifications I needed. I truly appreciated her time and her efforts to give me the best customer service I have ever received at this Home Depot. If this location kept hiring employees like her, I feel everyone would flood to this spot! read more

They tricked me into getting a Home Depot credit card. This is deceptive and not a good way to do business. Very pissed because they didn't explain any of the details and kept flaunting the 25 discount without explaining it was a credit card and hard inquiry, high interest rates etc. This company is unethical in my opinion. read more

Fantastic customer service - no questions asked and easily honored the Husky Forever guarantee. A couple of their trade professionals within the aisles, particularly in the plumbing section have been tremendously helpful over the years. They know their customers, as well as the houses in the local area (at least the remaining few that haven't been torn down and rebuilt) that we're trying to keep from falling apart. Sure, it's not stocked with lumber and tool rentals like some of the mega HD's which are still only 10-15 minutes away but the smaller store makes it easier to get in, get what you need and get out very quickly. read more

SCAM ALERT!! If you go to this location and see the free water tests, DO NOT fall for it. My wife and I used the test, mailed a water sample to Home Depot. Within 2 days I received a call from Home Depot saying they ran a test, and that it failed all their safety and purity tests. They advised me to not consume this water under ANY circumstances. They then told me that they wanted to send a third party water testing technician to my house to make recommendations on what I could do to fix the issue. When the technician showed up, he was not only very rude to me, but he refused to continue the testing unless my pregnant wife (who wasn't feeling well at the time) came out of our bedroom to watch him conduct the test. When I insisted that we were uncomfortable with that, he dramatically packed up and left. My pregnant wife and I were horrified about the prospect of consuming bad water. But given that bad Home Depot experience, we hired a different water testing company. To our surprise, the water passed every aspect of the water purity test. We were assured that our water was very healthy water, and that there were no issues at all to report. This was simply just an attempted scam that was initiated by Home Depot. Save yourself the time and stress, and walk past those free tests when you see them at this store. They are out to scam you. P.s., I am not stopping shy of a 1 star review. I am in the process of reporting them to the BBB. I expect so much more of Home Depot, and this was a very unfortunate event that could have been avoided. Think about how scared you would be in my situation with a first time pregnant wife. Under different circumstances, we could have been scammed out of a lot of money. read more

The older white guy who works in the paint department at the counter needs to find another job. He is most unhelpful and so unpleasant that I will never go back there. There was another customer waiting to be served the last time I was there who told me he can't stand the guy, but he is a painter by trade and the store is close to all of jobs. My wife was just there to buy more paint for a job we are doing at our home and just left because he was so rude. read more

They told me to call the company that made it. Even though I purchased it from Home Depot. Would be 3.5 stars... This location, as well as the parking lot, is smaller than the Watchung, Union, and Old Bridge locations. I actually remember this store used to be called "Villager's Hardware" for a couple of years, before changing it's name back to the Home Depot. I needed some new rubber gloves, and since I was in the area, I stopped here to get some. When I walked in, I was greeted by someone at the door and wanted to know if I was looking for something in particular. After that, she brought me into an area where they had them. I was pleased with this experience. The store itself looked nice and clean. As with any Home Depot, the prices are competitive. Very good experience overall! read more

The level of uncomfortable racial profiling in this location was disgusting and disappointing! My significant other and I came in to our local Home Depot in Garwood, which is conveniently located a few blocks away from our house. He is an Electrician that works in NY for the Union. He frequents Home Depot for his business needs, but unfortunately because of the awful and discriminatory experience we had at this location, we will never be back. And will now have to seek another location or perhaps Lowe's. We entered the location and immediately had multiple employees hovering us, yet unable to effectively help us but rather just watching our every move. Upon locating an item we needed, we made our way to the register with the item in hand. (We had no bags, nor ever tried to conceal anything.) A tall young man approached us and while extremely close and in our personal space starting loudly asking if we "found everything ok?" To which other employees started to hover us as well. Richard, (who I unfortunately have to mention, because relevant to the experience, is an African American male) engages in conversation with the young man and starts saying how he loves Home Depot and so on, the young man then says to us "Also don't forget about the glue in your pocket!" To which Richard said "What?" And immediately the young man realized that he wrongfully accused him of stealing and replied with "Oh because we'll all stuck together like glue." Needless to say, we never bought anything that night and will not be back. read more

Came in with a very small child's chair with detached back and a broken leg. Jim a guy in hardware showed me the right hard ware.I then went to paint dept to look at samples for the little chair, the ladies behind the counter were so nice and helpful. Then a nice gentleman named James, a father of many children who worked there came by to admire it . Then said humm, I think it needs more tightening and brought a hammer and screwdriver and started working on it, he put it all together but said well just to be sure put some wood putty on it at home to secure it. With all that help I only had to pay for nails, paint and wood putty. They are fabulous there. read more

This is a smaller store with almost no lumber. With that said, I've never been to a Home Depot with more customer assistance. Just walking around you will be approached by employees offering help. Ordered a fridge because ours broke unexpectedly this was last Friday. We were told we would get one today (the following Friday). Which was annoying but we were prepared to wait, so we did. Then the workers come with our fridge today and the motor falls out! Really? Did anyone check this before sending it to us? Very disappointed. And after that we now have to wait until NEXT Friday for another new fridge. Actually ridiculous! If you bring us a broken fridge go back and get a new one even tomorrow would be fine. But two weeks without a fridge and 3 kids isn't working. Very disappointed this will be my last purchase from Home Depot. read more

Have always had a good experience at this location. The employees are very helpful, particularly for a Home Depot. Paolo in the garden center always helps to load the top soil into my car. Plumbing and electrical departments help to find the exact parts I need. It's a small location so the don't have all the services, but they make up for it with the individual attention. Def the worst Home Depot I've been to. It's on my way home from work so I stop out of convenience and each and every time I do, I think the experience will be better, but it never is. Honestly, since there are always dozens of employees standing around, you would think at least ONE would be outside, managing their parking lot since it's full of carts everywhere. So if you think you can park in their newly paved lot, think again. This right here is a testament to the quality of this store. Please, management. Send one of your 25 employees outside to man the carts!! It's the easiest task and allows your customers the opportunity to be not aggravated prior to entering your store. read more

Disappointing experience all around. We went in tonight around 8:45 because the website said that the store closed at 10. Waited at the paint counter for 15 mins while my husband had a key made. No one came over to help me, or to let me know that they were closing soon and that I was wasting my time standing there. I rang the bell on the counter as the sign indicated I should do...nothing. Waited a little bit longer until I heard the announcement over the loudspeaker at 9:03 that the store was closed. Walked over to check out and had a hard time finding a cashier who wasn't standing with their back to me looking at their cellphone. Finally found someone to check us out who waved us over and then proceeded to take a call just as we put out stuff down and made no attempt to multitask. I get that people are tired at the end of their shift, but so am I and would appreciate a little courtesy and an accurate website. Get it together Home Depot. read more
