Service is amazing. There were three specific employees who went above and beyond for me. I had an issue with my doors. They were lost in the shuffle two separate times. The staff here is so rude. I brought in some propane tanks that I didn't use. I was told when I first bought them at Home Depot, I could always exchange them. But when I brought it in, they were giving me and an old pastor I was with dirty looks. Kind of rudish, "Can I help you?" I said "Yes, I want to return these propane tanks for a refund." She said with an attitude, "How long have you had them?" I said, "Two years." She responded, "We don't take them." I said, "I was told you can always bring them back." She said, "We don't take anything longer than 90 days." This was not what I was told. But even if were true, they gave us dirty looks like were weren't wanted there like "get the heck out of here, your kind is not wanted." That's the facial expressions I read. We asked another staff for help on door locks and the response was a long silence like they didn't want to be bothered followed by "check down there" like he didn't want to be bothered at all. I was injured at this Home Depot when a pile of fence planks feel on my arm. Can't even get them to take responsibility for the medical bills. They turn it over to a third party called Sedgwick who does everything avoid responsibility of payment. Home Depot just washers their hands of it even though the planks must have been stacked incorrectly. It is only a few hundred in medical cost yet Sedgwick wants to turn this into a legal fight knowing it is not worth fighting them legally. I bought all new appliances from them in store so many items added to order online price with addons needed 4388.95 charges to my credit card $4671.94, called corporate put on hold 10 times told they couldnt help us but in store, finally got a manager who was rude didnt care about the sale nor the customer. I went over each item evidentally samsung says items all come with power cords home depot sells them to you for more money. To the tune of $282.99. NO way scammer company i cancelled order got my money back now their competitor told me that all appliances come with power cords ODD. NEVER again home depot . When I first moved to Arizona, we moved into a house about a mile away from this store. My fiancee and I used to walk down there when the weather was nice and look at the flowers, get ideas for our home remodel, the landscaping designs. The employees were always eager to help, even when all we needed was to bounce some ideas off them or get a third opinion. The store was always clean, the staff always nice. Even when they were busy, I never had an employee be cross, short or snippy with me, and that says a lot, I think. When we were finally ready to replace the carpeting in the bedrooms, our "flooring specialist" was fantastic! (His name was Joe.) They set up for the measure, gave us an almost exact estimate, and had it installed within a few weeks. He also was very helpful with getting ideas and help during our tile installation (which we did ourselves). This store is always clean, the employees friendly and knowledgeable. When they didn't know something, instead of just giving me a half answer, they'd find someone who DID know what I needed. This Home Depot has wasted so much of our time. We have stood in the stood waiting for help in the store, only to be given incorrect information. We have tried calling and waited on the phone, and then been given incorrect information over the phone. When you call, you are placed on hold while they send you to the department you are trying to call over and over again, but no one picks up in that department and no one else offers to help. We've paid the $50 for them to come out and measure to give us a quote, but then they tack on literally thousands of dollars to the job that they do not initially tell you about. I would not recommend this location of Home Depot to anyone. read more

Cleaning my front yard today and decided to replace a dead plant. Home Depot nursery area was well kept and clean, I've always enjoyed going to this home depot since the layout is logical in my mind and I know where everything is(Why can't they all have the same layout?) Their HDX shelves are great, they are some of the best shelving for garages. In fact their HDX, or home brand, is quite good.

It should not be this hard! All I want are some blinds and I started this process almost a month ago now and have yet to place my order in spite of standing around waiting for the one and only person apparently in the store who could help, sit at a desk with someone else and ignore me for 15 minutes. And several calls where no on ever picks up in the flooring dept. I had to wait weeks just to have someone come out to measure the windows after paying a deposit. Easy Black Friday shopping! I Did some online research before and while standing in line for the store to open they gave us maps of the store and where each item was located. They even had coffee donuts and bananas while we waited. We were out in 10 minutes after the store opened! Very easy experience. read more

Don't get your keys made here - they never work. 3 different times this has happened. Not a fluke.

For years I've chosen Home Depot because they were closer and a little better organized than Lowes. But I recently had to make a return on the same day I bought something (bought the wrong item) and they demanded my driver's license because I had used a gift card for a portion of the order (not the whole thing). This is despite the fact that I had the receipt. This is a really poor policy that the managers can't override, and the worst part is that they told me the information is given to a third party to track returns. Nobody has been able to tell me the name of this company or their privacy policy. It's a big problem to me so I'll be shopping at Lowes from now on, and avoiding gift cards since they aren't treated like cash is. A cash or credit card return with a receipt wouldn't have required an ID, I asked. read more

The only reason I give this one 2 stars is because of how obnoxious they are with pushing the Home Depot credit card. Employee's literally walk around the store asking you, and the checkout people are especially obnoxious! I frequent Home Depot 3-4 times a week, and it is almost making me want to drive to another location. Obviously there is some incentive to push this credit card so hard, which is fine, but this store is over the top! It's a crappy card anyway, super high interest 26.99% I believe and it isn't negotiable. Standard interest rate across the board, regardless of credit score! We have been waiting since September for replacement windows--and we are still wating. Very poor customer service. I have visited a Home Depot maybe twice in my life so I know where nothing is. I was directed to the right aisle and told someone would be there to help me in the irrigation section. I looked for close to 10 minutes with no luck for what I was looking for until an employee came into the aisle. I asked if I could ask him a question and he didn't reply, just looked at me like he was annoyed I asked. He started walking away as I showed him the product I needed but was unsure of the name. He was walking away while mumbling so I could barely hear him and he was fairly rude when he did answer the question. I had other questions but I decided to just look for myself because he seemed annoyed that I had even asked at all. I've worked in customer service so I know how it can be with customers, but I approached him nicely just asking a question and he seemed like I was asking too much. Highly unlikely I will go back to this location. I have never written a bad review about any place before and don't like to because I know people have bad days or something but it was not the first time this has happened in a Home Depot. read more

Had to have a door replaced that Home Depot installed (it wasn't made properly and fell off the hinges). It didn't fall off for 2+ years, but when I had a repair man look at it, he was shocked at the "poor workmanship" that went into building the door. I decided to contact them to see if they would fix what appeared to be their resposibility. Went through a lot of red tape to finally have them agree to come look at it. The staff came out and took pictures. I was told that it was done correctly. I persisted and they sent out their contracted company who agreed it was done incorrectly. I had stopped by the store to check their in stock doors (see how they were made) and the man that helped me happened to be the same guy that came and checked my door at home. I wasn't home, so didn't know it was him, but he acted like he didn't know anything about what I was talking about, until the end. Then he fessed up that it was him and he would happily hang that same door in his home. Hmmmm.....made me wonder if his house has any doors still on hinges. I am very appreciative that they made good on their poor quality. However, I was made to feel like I was doing something wrong because it had been over 2 years. My point was, if the door was made correctly, shouldn't it last more than 2 years? read more

Home Depot Remodel TL;DR: - A lot of back and forth travel for no help - No one returns a call - Lack of accountability - No return on bad mix A quick bit of backstory: Back on June 1st we were supposed to move in to our town home after peacefully evicting our tenants. We discovered to our horror that our town home was demolished. All our wood floors were destroyed, carpets, kitchen cabinets, etc. We were forced to do an entire remodel. This is where Home Depot stepped in. With time short, and a growing list of most flooring companies not having availability for install until well into the fall, we decided to go with Home Depot. My first interaction with the flooring department was exclusively online. I ordered an inspector to come out and make measurements and begin the process of quotes for the materials and work. The inspector came out and did his job with little fanfare. He told us we'd be hearing from them within a day or two. Busy trying to secure other elements of the remodel, a week and a half slipped by. I contacted the store asking about the quote. I was informed I would need to come into the store. This is where the trouble started. The next day, after work, I came into the store. It was around 6 in the evening. I waited about fifteen minutes in the flooring department before I could get ahold of someone to ask for assistance. They assured me they would send someone over. I waited another 20 minutes before someone did show up. The gentleman, an older fellow I can't remember the name of, told me that he had very little idea how to even look up my information and send me to Customer Service. They didn't know any more, and so I was told they would call me back first thing in the morning. No call came the next day. I followed up the day after. They again asked me to come into the store. A bit frustrated, I did so. Upon showing up at the store, a young lady told me that I would actually need to contact their call center that was closed. I accepted my fate and did so. Now, to put this into perspective I live in Phoenix. It is a 45 minute drive out to this location, which is closer to the town home we are remodeling. I contact the call center the next day and get in touch with Michelle. She was very helpful and got the information together for us. This is where partial blame falls on us. We had a bit of sticker shock with the price. My wife and I ended up having to do some shake-up with the materials we wanted on the flooring to meet our budget requirements. As we did so, we had a lot of back and forth with the store. Two men, Steve and Mike in the department, were fantastic. They seemed to know what they were doing and if we spoke directly with them they helped put things in motion. However, the call back situation continuously fell back on us. Promises of call backs later in the day almost constantly led me to have to keep chasing after responses. After about a month and a half of back and forth we agreed on everything and got it all set. Our install was set and ready to go, we just needed to wait for install. It took two weeks, like they said. However, one morning on my way to work I received a panicked call from Michelle asking me if I was home (at the property being remodeled). I told her I was on my way to work. Someone forgot to call us to let us know the materials were being delivered, so I needed to detour from work to head to the town home. Argh. The product was successfully delivered, and everything went smooth from there. The folks responsible for doing the work were fantastic and masterful at their job. Everything was great from there. The whole scenario was far more stressful than it needed to be, all because there was no single person responsible for handling the process and most didn't seem to know how to properly use the systems to pull it all together. Aside from that is another little irksome problem. Wanting to make it as simple on us as possible, we purchased most of our remodel goods from the Home Depot. This included our paint supplies. I used to be a professional painter back in my 20s. I always knew I needed to double check the color of the Home Depot's paint department. I don't even blame the clerks, you just get slammed and sometimes things fall by the wayside. However, in our initial batch I requested a bunch of 5 gallons to be prepared for me of the wall color we intended to paint. I knew the name of the color and the brand (Behr Sand Castle) and had them whip it up. At time I went back to talk to the flooring people (during that process). I came back, picked my paint up and went along my way. Well, we had a painting party and some other people in the volunteers began to paint the wall with the Sand Castle. It was not the appropriate color. It was a pinkish salmon color, nothing like what the screen displayed on the Behr color picker. We attempted to return the color do to a color mismatch and were refused because it was a custom mix. A nice expenditure of $250 bucks read more

I usually go to the location closer to my home on Val Vista and Broadway, but I found myself further south so I came to this one to pick up a few items for a project piece. I usually hate going into businesses that are primarily male dominated (women are totally capable BY THE WAY) like auto parts stores, etc. Home depot included. I never look lost or appear to need help. I have purpose when I walk and I usually know exactly where I'm going and don't appreciate the OVERLY aggressive customer service, just because I'm a young woman. If I say "No, I'm good thanks" Then IM GOOD!! THANKS! Well, this time I was browsing for other items while on my way to finding the piping isle. A man asked me if I needed any help, so I said "yes, where are the galvanized steel pipes?" Instead of showing me, he proceeded to ask what I needed them for, to which I answered, "For a shelf" He responds mockingly with "Oh. So you've been on Pinterest. Haha" Rude. He proceeds to attempt to be my personal shopper and goes through everything I need, assuming he knows exactly how I'm building it, which HE DOESNT. So after multiple failed attempts and myself getting very annoyed with him, because 1. I never asked you to help pick out every piece. 2. I don't know where you get off making fun of what I'm building or where I got the idea. and 3. You have no idea what I actually need! He finally left. As I went on picking out the pieces I decided, I'm going to MY home depot. They had a very limited selection, most things I needed werent there anyway. I firmly believe my dollar makes a difference and this man has given that location a sour taste. I left without buying anything. I did not catch his name, and I hate to only be able to describe him this way, but he was the gentleman in the wheelchair. I hope he thinks twice before mocking more Pinterest goers. Who cares what someone's building or where they got the idea? They are customers and deserve some respect, not mockingly helpful, hand holding behavior from an older man who thinks he knows it all. If it were a man, who was building custom furniture for some modern couple who wanted help with the same thing, he would have never said "Oh, I see youve been on pinterest." read more

Horrible new policy on store credit. When I am doing home improvement projects, I always buy more than I need and my wife makes all the returns when I am finished. She usually gets Store credit and I just use that card on my next project. The last time I was in to buy supplies for my next project, I couldn't use the store credit because it was in my wife's name and she wasn't with me. Apparently, the person making the returns and getting the store credit has to be present. It sounds like they are having an issue with their return process and fraud and us customers have to be inconvenienced to help them solve it. I won't be shopping here anymore, there is a Lowes less than 2 miles away. read more

DO NOT EVER ORDER TILE and/or INSTALLATION. The team at Home Depot is wholly incompetent. My husband and I spent an hour getting what should have been a straight forward order for 240 sq. ft. of tile ordered with installation set up for my father's house. I even expressed my concern about the department's lack of knowledge on the ordering system while I was in the store and asked for assistance from the store manager who never showed up to help out. Outcome was a $1700 estimate for labor and tile, $900 of which was billed at the time of order for materials. The materials were scheduled to be delivered Fri, no show, Sat, no show, Monday (today 4/17) no show. Every time we called to check they pushed out the date. Today they informed us that on top of not having the necessary material in stock for delivery they never scheduled the installers. Somehow they were able to schedule the team to measure. They wasted multiple hours of our time. I will NEVER trust Home Depot for assistance again. It is DIY only there. Hit up Lowe's if you want to have any service. Guess I should have driven two blocks in the opposite direction to start. read more

Update to today. I walked in to buy a new tank of gas and a refill and was told I could use the kiosk. I went to do that and it had on the screen that an employee had been called so I cancelled, then suddenly one of the windows popped open with a full tank of gas in it... I had not paid for anything mind you but the window was offering me a free $50 tank of gas... I pushed the button for the employee and a teenage kid walked over and had no clue what to do... mind you he responded to the request for the person who ran that station... I explained the situation and he let me know I could complete my transaction inside. I went inside and purchased the tank and a refill. I walk outside and put the new tank in my car while I got the empty. I walk back and now the thing is asking for an empty tank, mind you I have not touched it. Another person had been using the kiosk and went inside because apparently this kiosk requires at least a bachelors degree to run. I asked another teenage kid who was manning the station and again he had no clue what was going on. I eventually fixed what was going on and helped another customer go through this amazingly complex I finally enter my code for my refill, I completed my transaction, all the while wondering how anybody was confused in the first place by the screens or this process (that is why you even get 2 stars home depot, good job on the screen prompts) I close the window after placing my empty tank into the locker finally thinking all is right in the world I can go grill again, when the kiosk chimes up "you have an extra propane charge on this receipt, press yes if you want to redeem this now or no to redeem later." Home depot, you are lucky that I am an honest person because I pressed no and I had already paid for the tank of gas I had so I just threw the receipt away, rather than taking a free $50 tank of gas. I would suggest you check into this location and especially the management. This location has been the worst and I will only use them for propane refills which is now even in question. read more

If I was allowed to give zero stars I would. Do not ever buy an appliance from this place. Their delivery service sucks. When you call the store to complain or track your delivery, who you actually gave your money to, they only direct you to call their delivery driver company. I set up delivery for appliances 6 days out to enable myself to host family and friends for a cookout on a holiday weekend but because they did not show and I had a construction project in my house without appliances and therefore had to pay for another unexpected dinner for my visitors. Voicing your concerns does you no good, I was told my concerns were sitting on George Page's desk, the GM, and he would call me as soon as he is back at work, and it's been a month now. I have discovered my money isn't worth his time. and neither is yours. Do not waste your money at this establishment. FYI: Spencers price matches any competitors prices including holiday sales and you don't have to worry about a manager not listening to or attempting to keep your loyalty. I want to start by saying this Val Vista location is the picture of excellence in customer service. Every time I even call this location needing help employees go out of their way to help me. Yesterday on New Year's Eve I was installing some blinds. One of the blinds had a factory issue with it. I went into exchange it. The employee made it super easy for me to exchange. I gave him the old blind when I walked in and got a new one. He compared numbers and said OK you're good to go. It took no more than three minutes. Then last night at dinner with a friend I was telling her about my experience. She said she's gone to that same Home Depot on Val Vista and had the same customer service. In her case she was looking to replace a birdbath that had been covered in mold. The store did not have a new one in stock so two employees did a search on Amazon and found it for her. Home Depot did not make any money from this transaction but found a replacement for my friend. This tells me that the Home Depot on Val Vista in Gilbert values its customers so much that they will do anything to help them find what they need. read more
