They want to charge him a $25 pallet charge, which is bogus and he had to load the concrete himself. Nobody helped him. I ordered a new dishwasher on May 11, with a delivery date for today, May 24. Five minutes from my house, the van driver called to say they were almost at my address. He also told me that Home Depot no longer installs dishwashers. I was NOT advised of this by HD, but apparently I am not the first customer to find out after the fact. I will NEVER shop at The Home Depot again. I ordered a washer and dryer from them nearly a month ago because mine were both broken. This morning the delivery truck came with two young men on board. At first they were stopped in front of my house and looked like they were going to drive by, they had not even bothered to call me ahead of time like I was told. I waved them into my driveway. The driver gets out and tells me that it was too wet to deliver today. I will have to call the home depot and reschedule...(we got a dusting last night and there was 1/4 inch of snow on the ground) I said I have been waiting almost a month and you are here why would I want to reschecule, he says that he and his assistant could get hurt walking across the lawn with their handtruck. I then say this is ridiculous, put it in my driveway and leave then I will get a refund for my take away, well, THEY both got into their truck and drove quickly away. I called the store and was told to call their delivery service, I called them and they said that the delivery guys told them I was antagonistic and they were afraid to deliver to me and would not be coming back. The dispatcher says I am argumentative and she did not like my 'tone'... That they would NOT be delivering to my home, That they would deliver to the store and I could pick it up from there. I called the store back and they said they do NOT accept deliveries like that, and that they would call them and then contact me. They called me back and said that they were cancelling my order. All I can say is WOW... This company has gone so far downhill, that it disgusts me. I wouldnt buy a thing from them, and I NEVER will again.... I hope HD goes down the tubes, taking my business to Lowes, they HAD what I had previously purchased from HD IN STOCK. delivery would be a few days, but, I opted to pick it up myself this time. Employees in the flooring department wouldn't bother to get off the computer to help me as I was standing five feet away, looking, waiting. One star because I tried to leave a negative review on Home Depot's website and they rejected it twice so far. Employees at Lowe's usually seem more enthusiastic, so I'll shop there even though it's farther away... also a better selection. read more

My husband and I have been long-standing customers with Home Depot for years. Always had great service and products. Well, in this last year, my opinion of them has dropped dramatically! I purchased major appliances, and two were not delivered and set up as we were told they were. We tried buying a dryer. Non we wanted were in stock. Settled on a cheap end. Only to find these products at the same, if not better prices at Lowes. Then, I ordered an outside dining set. The money was drawn out of my account and said delivery in 2 days between 6-9 pm. My husband had surgery, and he sat waiting up so as not to leave it out all night on the porch. Poor guy. No product. No email or text. Nothing. I went to the online order, and they stated they canceled the order. I spent from 9:30 that evening until 11 pm in a chat room to be told there was no other product even in a different color to be replaced. So the next day, I went to the JC store, and low and behold, they have 5 there. After talking with the manager, we got a set. Yet I still hadn't seen my refund. Fortunately, I had the money in my account to allow another 700.00 purchase. Then the last two times I've been in we had an associate in the lumber section not do her job and be rude ( of which other coworkers heard her) as she didn't want to ring up or gardening flowers claiming allergies. Only to be told she had wrung up her own flowers in this section. So much for allergies, huh? I like Lowes more and more. It seems Home Depot could care less about their faithful customers, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. We have spent thousands through the years, and this has been sadly our experience with almost every other purchase to date. So do yourself a favor and go to Lowes. They have great customer service, great prices, and variety. Verizon thought they cornered the market, and then Spectrum came in and took all those customers that they had "so what" attitudes to. I love the Home Depot Chain, but this store is awesome. They have everything and the place is huge. Usually, I hate big stores because I can never find anything in them and the employee turnover is so bad that the staff can't find it either - but this Home Depot has the best staff, they know where things are, and if they don't know, they know who to ask! On my last trip, I was greeted by a nice guy at the door who was able to point me to the correct aisle. When I got to the aisle, it had a little safety gate pulled across (but nobody was stocking shelves). Another employee walked by and offered to open the gate for me. Very friendly, very helpful. Even the guy at checkout was friendly. In Brooklyn, store employees almost never talk to you (even if you address them directly). These types of kind, informed people make me proud to be from the triple cities. Keep it up! read more

Came here with my dad who needed to return some--I don't know if there is a better, technical name for this--wood. It was, um, the wrong size? LOL I don't know that much about wood. Anyway, the clerk who assisted him with the return was extremely helpful. My dad didn't have a receipt so she asked whether it was on a card or check since they could just scan the barcode of the item and look it up. Since it was on his card, the process was super simple and we were off looking at more wood in no time. The layout of the store is very practical and clean. Most of the workers are also helpful except some are of the "stay out of my way while I am restocking" types. The store is in Westover, next to GE and across the street from Aldi. Not the most aesthetically pleasing neighborhood but it's easily accessible by Main St. or the highway and parking is not a problem at all. I almost forgot to mention, I was carrying my dad's new dog around the store. I am not usually the type to bring a dog into a store that's not PetSmart, but my dad insisted it was ok. No one minded at all and some people even came to greet us. read more

I really like the layout of this store. With so many products, they did a great job laying out everything so you can easily find what you are looking for. Prices are always competitive. The plant selection is good. Their return and price match policy is awesome. I bought outdoor furniture, the price went down 60 days later, so I brought in my receipt and they gave me back the difference! No questions asked. read more

Home Depot is the worst place for customer service! You should get your customer service Tips from Lowe's! I've visited Home Depot several times to which the associates do not know what they are doing or do not what to help out the customer. I have been attempting to order custom cabinets that a Home Depot associate laid out for me but have been told numerous that I need to order it myself. When trying to order custom cabinets online it tells you to go in store to order. I drove an hour to this specific location to be told the same thing from Josh, I brought this to the assistant manger's attention who then spoke with Josh. After they spoke, Josh came back to me with a nasty attitude and lied to the assistant manager telling him that the cabinets we just looked at are not in stock. Yet said if I order it myself it would take less than a week but if he ordered it, it would then take 12 weeks. read more

Many years ago I opened a Home Depot Account. They took away the 5% discount and I closed the account. About a month ago I opened another account and purchased a sprayer and first use it broke. I took it back the next day and the manager refused to refund my purchase because there was liquid in the sprayer. Had nothing to do with the broken sprayer. 3:00 - woman manager- was not very nice. Left the sprayer there and went home and shredded my card. Bye bye again Home Depot!! read more

I have to give them props for improvement. A few years ago, I had the worst customer service experience of my life in the JC store, which apparently was the norm for this chain. I decided to give them another chance, and was pleasantly surprised by the help I received. One employee pointed me in the right direction and said he would be right over to make sure I found what I needed. While trying to decide which faucet part I needed, another off duty employee stopped over and made a suggestion that would save money with the same results. read more

Plan on a long wait for large items at pick up counter. I went in expecting it to take less than 10 minutes and I left 40 minutes later. Pick up desk was helpless. they couldnt find anyone to go find the rubber roofing on a roll that I ordered from stock 4 days earlier. It had been moved several times and no one had logged it. I had to go find a floor manager to help me with the issue or I still would be standing at the pick up desk at closing time. read more

Went here to pick up some items while I was remodeling my bathroom. Ran into a guy with four lip piercings and two giant ear spacers. All I could think of was attaching the shower curtain I just picked up to said lip piercings. It was an odd experience. Staff was helpful and friendly. read more

The employees here could use a lesson on how to work at their job instead of working harder to not work. Other than that, the place is good. Excellent stock, good prices, good price match, good return policy. The bathrooms are clean, the advanced staff at the Pro counter are excellent. The people in millwork are great as well.
