I'm so Disappointed by the lack of support I'm getting from my local Home depot. I make an online order that I'm haveing problems getting delivered. They tell me they can't do any with online orders, i have to call online order support. The shipping Company they use has to be the worst rated company in the United States," Esters Express". I was supposed to have my shipment last week I am leaving this weekend for vacation and they tell me they can't deliver till Monday this place is literally 10 minutes from my house. The reviews I've read online are all the same can't deliver, truck broke down this company has so many breakdowns of there vehicles how are they still in business there rating is zero. I called Home Depot online support and I'm told there's nothing they can do for 48 to 72 hours by then I will be gone. I don't understand this shipping company, I asked them to deliver. It is sitting in the terminal right down the road, I guess I'm not a big enough customer for them to worry about. I stopped in here this morning due to an emergency situation at my childhood home in the Capital Region. I needed a replacement sump pump, it took me a little bit of time to find the right person who could assist. I found a friendly older gentleman in the plumbing section who was very helpful, I wish I had caught his name but I didn't. We had a nice chat about our mutual like of Shih Tzu dogs. I showed the photos of the broken sump pump to the employee and he found the same one for me. Luckily they had two in stock, phew! I had a friend coming to help install it 1 hour later, so the last thing I wanted was to run all over the Capital District in search of the right part. I am happy to say that the sump pump I was sent home with was the correct one and fairly easy for my friend to install. Crisis averted! read more

I don't come to this store much. I used to be a Home Depot guy when I lived in Clifton Park about 3 minutes from the store there. It was convenient and I knew where everything was. But, I moved to Colonie and had to select a new store. Living right in the middle between the HD and Lowes in Albany and the ones in Latham, I have found Lowes in Latham really good. I don't like this HD because of its location. It is set in a busy shopping complex and trying to get in and out on a weekend is a zoo. The turning lanes aren't well designed, and there are also buses and crazy drivers to contend with. Before the Lowes opened up around the corner (2005/2006) when I lived in Menands I came here all the time. But, I was younger then with more patience. Now, I want to get in and get out and that just isn't possible here. Nothing wrong with the store itself, though I wish the interiors of all Home Depot's were laid out the same for consistency. bought a dryer there last week, was supposed to be delivered today, but because of the weather, it was rescheduled for a WEEK FROM TODAY. So, we get shoved to the back of the line, and all who came AFTER us, get their deliveries BEFORE us!!!!!!!!!!!! Review/rating is relative to other similar box home improvement stores, fwiw. Advantages over the other Home Depots/Lowe's in the area: - not as skeevy as Schenectady location. - they seem to have a higher proportion of staff With A Clue than both other Home Depots or Lowe's. - definitely cleaner and with less clutter. Disadvantages: - the access is not fun nor is the parking in this overcrowded shopping nook; the Walmart through traffic makes ingress and egress a bit of a trial. - garden department is smaller than most HDs, or so it seemed to me. - odd organization. One expects to be able to walk into any of these franchise locations and find the same thing in the same aisle but in this case there's something off about the way the departments are put together that had me wandering the aisles. Fortunately the slightly more clued-in staff came to the rescue. We are still a bit removed from Home Depot's golden age, although frankly all the big box stores have really lost that sort of super edge they once had on having a surfeit of excellent customer service. read more

They deserve zero stars. I ordered a chair as a retirement gift, and after speaking with 4 different people was assured that it would be assembled and ready to be picked up before the party. They only have assemblers on Wednesday for some ridiculous reason. I asked the last person I spoke with if I needed to call before coming on Thursday and he said no need because it will be done Wednesday so anytime on Thursday would be great. I sent my brother to pick up the chair and it had not been assembled. My brother said the manager Bianca was puzzled, because there was a note that clearly stated it needed to be assembled. When I spoke with her, there was no apology, no offer to compensate for the inconvenience in any way. She clearly could not have cared less. My brother wasted his time and a lot of gas to drive the truck to go pick it up. Now he needs to go again when they finally assemble it. A reputable company who cared about customer service would have offered to deliver the chair. read more

I wish I could give it no stars. We purchased a new dishwasher 3 weeks ago and paid to have it delivered and installed. We are in week 3 with no dishwasher! We call the number given. Not only do we get no answer but no response. My husband finally received a call saying they would deliver today Friday. I took off of work and big surprise, no call, no delivery and no answer. Buyer beware!!!! We have spent way too much time trying to get our purchase. Will not purchase from them again. Who has time. 26 Days after making purchase my husband finally spoke to someone in the store who gave us a refund. My husband said we still need and want the dishwasher. Finally I called and was told they had no one to fill the order but they would do it right now.I asked are you sure the items are in stock and was told yes. Customer Service is their highest priority these days and they realize they can't move forward without it! Home Depot out rates Lowes by a long short. The only thing that Lowes has to offer that beats Home Depot is their in store delivery & appliance inventory. Home Depot's appliances come directly from the manufacture and can take up to a week to get. Lowes provides next day delivery but can't compare to the customer service you get from Home Depot. So if your looking for the quick & impersonable experiance go to Lowes. Typical Home Depot, customer service is total shit. Tried to buy a $299 nail gun. It took them 15 minutes to find someone to help me get the item off the shelf because it had an electronic security beeper on it. I was told I would have to come back tomorrow because they did not have the keys. If I were the associate I would've gotten the bolt cutters myself to cut the cable or offered me some kind of discount if I came back tomorrow. I will just buy it on amazon.com. This review is about the excellent customer service that I received when I stopped by the store today. I was looking for a retro refrigerator that I saw online and couldn't find at my local store. In fact, my local store told me that there were none at any Home Depot stores. I decided to stop by the Latham store anyway. There were 2 display models for sale. Zack helped me with the fridge. He dusted it down and when I realized that the second model looked better (from the front), but was missing the handles, Zack and another employee, got out their tools, took the handles off of one and screwed them on to the other. When we pulled the second one out we realized that it was badly dented in the back. I apologized to Zack for doing all of that work for nothing and he let me know that it wasn't a problem. That is what he was there for. He then proceeded to call around to see if other stores had what I was looking for and he found exactly what I was looking for at another Home Depot. I don't know if Zack, or any of the other employees who helped me today will ever see this but, for everyone else who does, this is how a store should run. This is customer service at it's BEST! I judge my hardware stores on products and customer service. Really, customer service is the only thing setting most stores apart from competitors. More importantly, I judge Home Depots by their lumber department. Unfortunately, this one fails over and over. The latest mishap: an employee throwing around lumber (okay -dropping it three feet or tossing it) with a rude customer on a testosterone high. Somehow, the fact that as a customer I didn't want product from the section I was shopping in being tossed about bothered them. "Nobody wants that" was the response from these guys. Really? Really? Have you asked all potential customers? I think not. I'll be sticking with the best cap dist Home Depot- the one in Albany on washing ave ext. The staff is helpful, customers are respectful of their neighbors (read clients if you are a contractor) and the product is kept in an orderly and undamaged fashion. read more

Never a good experience but this tops it all. Went to customer service to ask if someone could help me match up a cellular shade. Girl said people in aisle 5 could help and walked me there. By the time I got halfway down aisle 5, the two employees scattered. Gone. Matched the shade myself but too bad. It would have been nice to be acknowledged by the people who were actually supposedly there to help. read more

My wife and I bought a really great GE washer and dryer set. The product is working well. The service from Home Depot was a complete disaster. They sold me new hoses, dryer vent, even power cord to ensure installation upon delivery - apparently, they can't use old hook-ups. Well, I stayed home from work for the delivery guys and when they got there, they informed me that they wouldn't install do to an inappropriate set-up I had (plus a leaky valve). So, they left and I called a plumber. After a few days, I got the valve replaced and rescheduled delivery of the washer/dryer. That delivery never happened. I stayed home from work, again, only to call and find out they forgot to put the appliances on a truck. They forgot to deliver my stuff. I called the store and they were quite upset, told me they really yelled at the delivery company, that they would make a special delivery for me on Saturday, and the delivery company would then call and make things up to me. I got a 3-7pm delivery window for the that Saturday. At 8:00 at night the driver called to say he was 30 minutes to an hour away. When they finally showed up at about 8:30 and took the machines out, the dryer was damaged. This was about a month after we had bought the products. I had given over most of three days to delivery of these things. The last thing I was going to do was refuse delivery for what was probably a cosmetic issue. The delivery person said I could call the store and get a damage allowance since he would write it up. So I accepted. I then installed the appliances myself because my hook-ups weren't up to spec, with the hoses, etc. that I had been talked into buying so that I could get guaranteed installation by the pros. I went to the store to get my damage allowance. They said I had to call GE. Still nothing about the forgotten delivery, but one thing at a time, right? I did get a damage allowance from GE, but I never heard anything about the delivery problems. I tried to get through by phone to GE but they want you to call the store. So I called the store some more. That's when they just started blowing me off. "Oh we already got you that," they said. I don't have a name because they wouldn't give me their name. Probably because they were now in blow-off mode, hoping I'd go away.That was weeks ago and I never got any compensation or even apology for the failed and late deliveries. Well, they got their wish. I'm tired of dealing with this. I'll go away now, permanently. I'll certainly never buy another appliance from The Home Depot again. read more

Home Depot in Latham completed my kitchen renovation. It was beyond expectations. Kristin in the Kitchen Design department created a 3-D design of my dream kitchen. She has an artist's eye for color and detail. Her suggestions were extremely helpful. I had a wall removed and another wall moved. Their contractor, Meridian, did an impeccable job. If I need any other renovations done, I would not hesitate to hire Home Depot (Latham) as long as they are still using Meridian Construction Company. read more

When I asked for help he became very sarcastic and rude and stated " If you don't know what you need, I don't know what you need". This Home Depot has quality, nice products. However the service just didn't seem right. Last summer I bought a shed, I got it home, set it all up.. and the English directions where missing. It was only in Spanish, I had to go back get it and it was just a hassle. They probably took the directions from another shed, so another person will have to do what I did. read more

The most friendliest employees of any store I have ever been in. All of the employees are so knowledgeable on where things are in the store and you can ask anyone a question and they will know the answer. Even if you don't ask for help workers come up to ask you if you need help finding something. I feel very welcome when I am in the store. read more

Wish I could vote ZERO stars! Let's starts three weeks ago when purchasing my Samsung washer and dryer. I'm told I can use my current pedestals and don't need to buy new ones which I don't end up doing I get told my delivery will be may 16th. May 16th comes and they are a no call no show I call the next day and NOT ONE person can tell me why my delivery wasn't made. Finally I contact the delivery store manager who says " I can tell you why it wasn't delivered the guys got their checks went to the bank and cashed it and then vanished." (Couldn't make this up if I tried) And then reschedule me till Friday!! Come Friday I find out about the pedestals but say whatever I'm not trusting these guys with anymore of my things and tell them to proceed, then another problem hits they can't figure out how to turn off the water source behind the washer and dryer because it's to far down, so they say about five times "we can't really spend anymore time here" but I've waited long enough so I call my personal handy man ask him what I need to do,get behind the washer and dryer and turn it off myself! Seriously has been one annoying week because of Home Depot and their delivery source!!! read more

Latham, NY store service is horrible. Tried to buy sku#1000016202. online website said Latham store had 2 in stock and I could order it online and pick-up at store. Didn't want to use my credit card as a precaution because of all the recent breaches with credit cards. So I drive to home depot in Latham, NY and I can't find this kit on the shelf. Go to see customer service, she acknowledges that her store inventory says the have not 2 in stock, but 3. So she calls someone to go look for it in the back and she is on the phone with this stock person the whole time flirting and saying things that are in no way professional or even respectable to be saying in front of anyone, let alone customers. meanwhile there are 2 people waiting behind me trying to return stuff, she could have easily put the phone down and help them while waiting for her boyfriend in the back to find my product and call the service desk back. Finally she gets back to me and says the Latham store doesn't have any SKU#1000016202 in stock and there's nothing she can do for me even though it is on the website and does say on her store computer that they have 3 in stock. I do not know why the inventory system is a joke, but it is. I called Clifton Park, NY Home Depot because HomeDepot.com said they had 1 left in stock and of course they did not. I am glad I called them first instead of driving there because then my whole day would have been shot instead of just half a day. Gas is not cheap, and I do not think customer service should be either. I think employees need better training and to be held to higher standards. The online inventory system needs looking into as does the in-store inventory system. Thanks and have a better day than I have. read more
