Home Depot, like Menards, pretty much offers what you need, but prices may be a titch higher. I personally like going here for lightening and ceiling fans as I prefer them over Menards. The people are pretty helpful but I'm not a fan of their lack of cashiers and their reliance on self pay kiosks. A trend at Home Depot is the lack of help. It isn't just this store, but a few now that I have been at. I'm not a "Pro", so help is needed. It's just the running around finding that help which leads to this evaluation. Know the the margins don't allow for an overstaffing, but it effects with an understaffing. read more

Has a large garden center and large parking lot, but getting around the connected parking lots can be a challenge at busier times because of the many stop signs and large number of cars. This home depot is huge and and has just about everything. When you can find someone to help you, they are usually well-informed, polite and helpful (if your question is outside of their department, they will usually walk you over to someone who might have a better answer) but it can be difficult to find a sales rep, despite the orange aprons. read more

The staff at the customer service area, particularly the younger ones, could really use some training on customer service. There have been multiple instances now where they visibly act inconvenienced having to do their jobs and it creates a negative customer experience. If you're looking for a prime example of the gen z stare you've come to the right place. Perhaps the work environment here is so awful that this is a byproduct of it. If this is the case then there really needs to be some major reworking to be done from the inside to fix this. Hopefully they see this and work towards improving whatever it is wrong that is causing this to occur. read more

They sold a mower which was incomplete. It came by UPS. When I called what was "customer service" they informed me they only take returns by the customers in the store. I am not sure I trust them to give me the money back. But I will find a way to return it. read more

Home Depot used to be a company that provided serious and responsible services. Now, they don't even care about their customers. The managers don't even respond to your messages. You write to the company's CEO, and not even the person who does the daily cleaning in the Headquarters can respond. Especially not the CEO. It all started with a job I thought would be stress-free: replacing the household counters. All of it. A horror movie. Home Depot always washed its hands of the problem and never helped. Most of the time, I had to hire someone to get me out of the ordeal. They didn't tell me I had to pay everything upfront. And I could go on, recounting the horror movie, but it would take pages. Went shopping for items for a new business. The salesman was very helpful with picking out boards and with cutting them to size. The cashier was also very helpful when there was not barcode for scanning. Huge variety to choose from and the prices were very reasonable. read more

I have been a Home Depot customer for over 25 years. The last two times I have returned items (3 items totaling $62.64) I have been made to feel like I was trying falsely return items because I did not have a receipt for one item and it took 3 minutes to find the credit card that was used for the other two. The two clerks at the return desk were very condescending. It took the store manager to ok one return. For the other return I had to accept a store credit. I'm not much of a DIY-er. I mean, I'd love to, but my teeny condo doesn't need much. Most of my money at Home Depot is spent on lump charcoal and wood for our smoker. I like the variety and the prices. What I don't like is that the store has eliminated nearly every cashier position. In today's economy, personal service is king and it's so important to have a friendly voice when spending your hard-earned money. I've always had a good experience at this Home Depot in The Quarry, and I've had to visit a lot lately. Every time we've visited, we've been approached by friendly staff members in the aisles asking if we need help with anything. And usually the answer is YES PLEASE HELP US. The staff is always knowledgeable and takes time to explain and educate. I always like seeing the same staff members so it feels like you have consistent people guiding you through a project. We've come here for new lighting and switches through our whole home (total rewire), advice on flooring, kitchen sink and faucet, carpet removal materials, safety equipment, cleaning supplies, yard tools, and more. I also love that they serve a local gem -- Uncle Franky's hot dogs! read more

Called ahead to ensure they had the inventory on their shelves for the item we needed as we were short on time. Was told "yes, 23 or 24 of one model and a handful of two other similar models". We arrived at the store and went to the aisle they stated we would find it in and the shelves were bare. NOT. ONE. SINGLE MODEL. (There were supposed to be 5 different options- 3 we were really open to). We asked an associate (Alfredo) coming down the aisle and were told he was too busy with another customer and he'd come back but just wait. Another associate, young female(didn't catch her name, came by asked how she could help, scanned the barcode, got a ladder staircase, climbed up and moved a dozen boxes before Alfredo came back. He then threw more attitude about not waiting for him and told her to get down that he could do it. 20 minutes later he says "well I guess we don't have any after all" This was the biggest waste of time. Customer service who don't care to provide any service, or actually check their inventory. And are comfortable scolding their customers. Go somewhere else. Unless you're only working with the young lady- she was the only pleasant part about this whole visit. read more

BE CAREFUL!!! I purchased a 4-piece, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. On the day of delivery, I was VERBALLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED by a delivery driver as he attempted to install them. When I didn't accept his advances he never finished the job (nor did I want him to). I was traumatized. As a PTSD survivor, the lewd remarks and innuendos about what he could do to me brought back the trauma. For a home improvement store located right in Minneapolis, I have not had many positive experiences with this location. COVID seems to have taken a toll on the business being able to keep up. The return line can easily take 30+ minutes (I have tried several abnormal times and seem to always get stuck), curbside pickup is a lost cause- they don't come to your car, and the carts are never put back in the store forcing customers to go back outside to grab one. The store is well maintained, however they clearly do not have enough staff. If you are planning on going, ensure you have enough time. read more

Customer service very poor. I ordered a piece of camping equipment on line, but which the store dud not have in stock. So i had it delivered to the store for pick up. I followed the tracking of the order (UPS) wich showed delivery of the item to the store at 10:38 Tues morning. I had expected an email later that day with instructions for pickup. I waited until Wednesday afternoon for any information then called the store. I was assured that I could pick it up on Thurs. Thursday evening there was still no notice, so I physically went to the store. Even when I showed them the UPS tracking order showing the date and time of delivery, they dismissed it and again told me to wait, and took no further action to track down the problem. I contacted UPS and they verified a delivery, but they Did check further and found it was delivered to the wrong address. It's Friday, and I have filed a claim with UPS, which will take time, and I had wanted and expected the equipment for the weekend. Had either of the people I talked with at Home Depot done what they should gave and investigated the obvious discrepancy, they could have easily fixed the problem to my satisfaction. But the lack of care and service on two seperate occasions, earns them low marks.​ read more

We have had a very bad experience with Home Depot on our kitchen remodel. Installation of our cabinets began at the end of June into early July. We are still waiting on the doors for 2 of the cabinets to be installed. They have been awful at keeping us updated. Now we found out that the backsplash we had selected to go with the new countertops and cabinets is no longer available. We learned this on the day they were supposed to install the backsplash. They showed up with the wrong color backsplash!! Their lack of communication and follow up is TERRIBLE. We are still waiting to find out when we will get the 2 cabinet doors installed and when our backsplash will be installed. Our kitchen has been torn part since the middle of June. This is about online ordering at home depot. I ordered an entire kitchen that was time sensitive.... I placed the order and then paid for the order. 3 DAYS LATER I got a notice that the order was cancelled... No reason for the cancellation nothing. Just that it was cancelled. I tried to order it again and I had to go through the whole process to get the order place. The problem is that the link on the original order entered my order for the wrong store. I called to get it fixed and was told that I had to wait a few days to re-order because first it had to be cancelled and then re-ordered and the order could not be cancelled for at least another day or two. The home depot system that is supposed to help you get things delivered to the store for pickup is so flawed that it is putting my project behind over a week. Whatever you do don't use the online system. It is horrible and the people at homedepot.com are not helpful at all. read more

Almost every employee seemed to make a bee line for a hiding spot as we got closer to their section. While I appreciate being left alone to browse, I also appreciate being able to find someone when I do need assistance. Wasn't easy finding an available sales person. The guy we did finally end up flagging down wasn't that enthused to have to show us where the doors were. This was a super slow Wednesday evening. I wonder what its like on a busy weekend. May or may not stop back at this location to find out. If you are hoping for helpful curbside pick up or helpful staff, this is NOT the store for you! More than once, we have ordered items for curbside pick up or customer service pick up to avoid crowding the store during Covid. EVERY TIME, our items were lost, simply not ready( even though the app told us they were) , or the dismissive, clueless employees refused to help at all, telling us to look up the isle numbers on the app, go get them and check out ourselves. A friend order a brand new washing machine from home depot. After it was delivered it didn't work, my friend thought he just hadn't figured out how to get it to work. Finally, 50 hours after it had been delivered he called home depot and they refused to return the product because he was 12 hours to late for a product return. Horrible store!!!@! The worst experience I've had. We ordered a door to be installed. Not only was the process a nightmare to get it scheduled but once the installer finally arrived they were given the wrong door from Home Depot. We had to call and management argued with us. Finally sent the right door over to the house and the people from the store that brought it, brought the wrong swing side. Then now after taking a day off of work, our door won't be done. I'd recommend never ever choosing this service from Home Depot. Huge warehouse type store with adequate signage but not much detail for the inner shelves. If you need someone to climb a ladder to pull your item down it may take awhile. There seems to be plenty of employees but everyone is always busy and hustling around. I like that they tend to carry more of the brands rather than the generic items, such as 3m Filtrete Air Filters rather than the cheaper imitations which aren't very good. Every year I have to ask where the water filters are as there are so many types and they seemed to be moved every year. This store by far has the best user friendly automated check out system, takes less than a minute. read more

We picked out some appliances online and opened a card, but instead of buying online we decided to go to the store and talk to someone. We rolled up on the appliances section and spoke with Dave. He made sure that we got all the right appliances, and made some suggestions regarding different models and warranties that really helped us out. He made sure to get us every deal that he could, and even called the credit card line to make sure we got the correct financing. It was a great experience. Home Depot can be a hit or miss, depending on who you talk to there. A lot of their people have no clue what they're talking about. But if you luck out to talk to someone knowledgeable, it can be a really positive experience. read more

I went to here to get lumber and there was not a single person in the lumber to help us out. However, they did have enough staff to have 9 people standing at the self checkout for an empty store. Additionally, staff was called twice for help at the cutting station and the first time the man saw it was two girls and left and then on the second call never returned. I had scheduled an online order to pick up at this location. I was impressed by how easy it was to do online, and how simple it was to do tax exemption too. That being said, I originally wanted my items shipped, but it was going to be $59 for shipping!! If you can, just go pick it up... When I got to the store, I was told all my items couldn't be fulfilled. Even though the pots I ordered had 60 in the inventory in store, they could only fulfill 20 of the 30 I ordered, and they weren't sure when they'd get more. That was a bit frustrating. I get it, retail sucks with the influx of shipments and maintaining balance with getting product out but this please from the moment I got there cluttered the cashier in the garden center, with a welcome to Home Depot was appreciated. Entire time I was there I came across 10 employees being on the conservative side. One person said hello. I waited patiently for the gentleman in the plumbing department to finish his unnecessary conversation as it didn't pertain to anything on a sale. Another gentleman asked if I needed something cut and got his attention for me. As I said I was being patient. But then he tries to upswell me something I'm not looking at, and tries to talk me out of my purchase. Might I add I know what I came into buy, I own and run a farm in Michigan and own a house I am flipping in the cities. So I'm no stranger to home supply stores. Being that I am the targeted audience of Home Depot "the so it your selfer". Did not appreciate being belittled by this sexist man. The cashier ended my experience on a better note she complimented my plant choices and tried to ensure I left on a better note. The veteran parking is an awesome feature though. I had a tech from the Home Depot Store #2807 scheduled to come out to measure for new flooring. (Morning of) he called and gave me a window of 3:30-5:30 pm of when he'd be there so I took off work early, which in and of itself is a little frustrating because basically you don't know how to schedule your day until the morning the tech calls. At 3:30 pm someone from Home Depot scheduling services called to say the tech was delayed and wouldn't be there and wanted to reschedule another day. I had this appointment booked for weeks and my work schedule didn't allow for any other day in the near future. I asked if he could just come later that evening. The woman on the phone couldn't get a hold of the tech to confirm if he could and he didn't return my calls. He did not show up. The next day no one called to check in with me to reschedule, apologize or anything so I finally called to get a refund. The woman I spoke with in store #2807 flooring department didn't apologize for the inconvenience this had caused, she was actually laughing a little which perturbed me to no end. She also asked for my phone number three times. And then after experiencing technical issues she said she couldn't issue me a refund until her computer would work again. As of right now I still have not received and apology or a refund. I am extremely upset at the way Home Depot as it relates to this experience. This company appears to have no respect for its customers time and nor does it seem to try to make things right after a mishap. Also, not returning calls, keeping me in the loop, listening when I give my information or offering any kind of apology is an obvious example of terrible customer service. For a billion dollar corporation they should have higher standards. read more

Okay, so normally I wouldn't be into writing reviews for a Home Depot location. However, the experience my friend and I had there a couple nights ago was amazing. I will go back there (versus my closer Home Depot) regularly. We weren't really clear what we were looking for, and it was obvious. The guy who was not even in a uniform said, "What do you need?" We told him and he sprung into action. He put is lunch pale down and started taking us to where we needed to go, and then went on to demonstrate the product's use. We had GREAT service from Dan Gardner at the Home Depot in Minneapolis on New Brighton Blvd. He spent quality time with us designing our dream kitchen. He showed a kitchen design updated from what now exists, explaining the benefits of the new design. He walked through the cabinet selection offering several alternatives. He did the same with the counter tops. And even though it was not his area of expertise, he helped us look at refrigerators and microwaves with outside vent.
