    A special buy

So apparently special orders have no location in the store so an associate went above and beyond to locate this Ryobi inflator that I bought to inflate my sons tube so we can go tubing

AC units, no change in return policy posted.

Goodbye, Home Depot. I purchased an AC on 20 June. When I walked in I asked an associate where the AC were. He pointed me to the end cap aisle near appliances. There was a stack of window units and 2 pallets. One with portable and one with window. He simply walked away while I struggled to get the AC (still shrink wrapped) off the pallet. Get it back to my apartment and I can't use it. It took 7 days for me to try to get it up to my unit & the way this is framed- I cannot use it. I get it back unused and 10 days later to Home Depot. Nobody in the store bothered to look at the item and then lied about signs being posted. Took photos of both the registers & the end aisle of where no signs are posted, but management nor customer care at 1-800 are interested in facts. They just dismiss you that you'll have no choice. If you change your return policy, there needs to be a grace period and there certainly needs to be some common sense. Also here's a hint, don't hire managers who lie and then gaslight customers. Well, I do have choices and that's beautiful. I have 2 accounts, redid my kitchen with HD 15 years ago and was looking to do again and also needed full appliance packages soon. Also buy a lot for gardening at my mom's and doing chores for her. So when I called customer service - their reply from manager was that item was used (not true & they never looked). Thankfully, there's Lowe's, Walmart, Amazon & Abt and I can always deal with them. But as a 20 year HD credit card holder- it's goodbye for me. Have common sense, if someone is returning an AC in the midst of a heat wave with 2 months of summer left- well- they aren't trying to pull one over on you. But if the $350 I'm out for an unused AC is worth the thousands in business I spend annually- so be it. Bye.

Plenty of parking and they are busy today.

It definitely feels extensive and organized with sections for soil, different climates/plant needs, and grade of plant. The indoor plants I've bought here are mostly doing great if a little neglected from my own care. We ended up planting some of the outdoor plants too early, but the quality was great overall. Given the late last frost date here, I would just wait to buy outdoor plants in the spring. The parking lot is extensive, and they have several community events as well as opportunities to host birthday parties for any age. Staff were really helpful and efficient at the register.

They have tons of plants and lots of plant supplies. I think we only looked at like half of the store, to be honest. It's a huge place, and I think that's one of the reasons I didn't love it. I like small neighborhood plant shops, and this was just super large. They have a lot going on here... in addition to the plants/supplies, there's a large bird cage in the store. I guess you can go into the cage? I had zero interest in that, but if you want to it's $15. I was sad that we didn't happen upon the turtle, though, because I know my daughter would have been thrilled if we'd bumped into him. They have a go fund me or kickstarter or something because I guess their lease is not renewed (wonder what that means for this strip mall from a bygone era), so I'm not sure what the future of the Jungle of Niles is. They are hoping to move--that's the reason for the fundraiser--but if you've harbored a desire to visit, I would stop by just in case.

He was incredibly generous with his time and offered us great advice, even showing us around and pointing out recommended plants and shrubs. We drove back home and did more research and thinking. A week later we returned and met up with Craig again. He discussed our choices and then showed us where to find everything. Along the way he gave us even more ideas by letting us look at pictures of his own extraordinary landscape. He never pressured us to buy anything and even came back later to check on us. I would like to add that his colleagues were also very helpful and open to dialogue in response to our questions. This is the best experience we have had in the Chicago area purchasing plants; we also learned a lot about landscaping in the process. Thanks Craig! Tsui-yee & Craig Chicago

This spring we went to purchase a tree for our yard. Found what we wanted for $800. We would prefer that professionals plant this tree. All good until: Tree cost: $800. Delivery and planting: $1200. So an $800 tree costs $2000 to have planted. Are you kidding me? 150% service charge to plant. That's like buying a $1000 big screen tv from Abt or Best Buy and paying $2500 total to have it installed. No rational person would do this. By comparison, we have purchased trees from other local nurseries and their planting fees are typically 50% of tree cost. So an $800 tree would cost an additional $400 to plant. Total cost: $1200. Who in their right mind would pay 150% of the cost of the item to have it "installed?" Do better, Lurvey. This is madness.

I decided to come to this place to support private shop owners and not the big chain shops. I avoided going to Lowe's and Home Depot but...This time I came to this place there were 2 guys behind counters that weren't at all helpful. I walked in said hello and neither one responded. When I asked one a question he said to ask the other guy cuz he was helping someone else and he walked away. I could barely understand him. When I looked for the other employee there was no one there. There was only one other customer so I don't understand how busy they could have been. Another reason for being so disappointed with this place is that some of the plants inside appeared a bit neglected. They're droopy, yellow leaves and just sad. I think a nursery should have every and single plant look like they're well taken care of and happy. Most plants inside didn't look like that. It's pretty sad. I put the planter I was going to buy down and left feeling like clearly they didn't need my business. I don't see myself returning to this place.
