We recently had some undesirable activity in our neighborhood so came to HD to get a new outdoor floodlight with camera set. I initially could not locate the item I was looking for. Seems like floodlights would be with floodlights. Customer service saw I was running back and forth in despair and asked if I needed help finding something. They knew immediately the product I was looking for and directed me to the cashiers who have these locked up in a cage at checkout. I've been to this location quite a few times and have always had a good experience. On an additional note, I appreciate the reserved parking for veterans. I went to this location to purchase a barbecue, and the customer service I received was PHENOMENAL. It was very difficult to load into my car, and Gabriel, Dominic, and John went above and beyond to help me get it loaded. They noticed a wasp nest in my car, and the manager (I think their name was Tess) also went above and beyond to help me buy wasp spray. Tess then helped me and my special needs son back to the car and taught us how to use the wasp spray. I cannot say enough about the level of service I received at this Home Depot. My husband spent well over an hour waiting on getting wood for a chicken coop. They had one guy working. It is sometimes understandable to be short staffed but to be completely ignored is unacceptable. He finally gave up and left his cart. I want to thank home depot though. He would have spent several hundred dollars on the supplies he need. He went to tractor supply and bought a kit that only cost 200. Last couple trips have been equal in lack of customer service. We would never go back but unfortunately it's the closest hardware/home supply store without having to drive 30+ minutes. read more

Horrible service. Went to this location to pick up some items I needed to repair my camper trailer. Everyone working there was not knowledgeable or seemed to comprehend what I was asking for. One employee even told me I should probably just hire an electrician, what?? I'm doing the work myself and I already know what I need but they could not help me find the items. Home Depot continues to sell Tuff Shed but they can not install them. I ordered a small shed in May and they yet have made the install date. It is now August. It has been rescheduled today to end of Sept or into Oct. They can't tell me. Tuff Shed claims they cannot hire enough new staff to install them. It is not a COVID 19 issue, they either don't pay their installers enough or they have no plan to hire. So Home Depot and Tuff Shed have my money in full but refuse to install it. No one was stocking, woman at the paint desk just standing around, as they are always doing. This Home Depot thinks they have a monopoly on interior home installation because they are the only big box on the island. Their prices may be cheap, but you get what you are paying for. I'm pretty sure the only requirement to get a job at this store is "can you spell your name right?" and even then they just hire whatever high school drop out comes their way. The lack of intelligence in the multitude of people I've dealt with to get laminate floors installed in my home is terrifying. These inbreds are in charge of power tools. Every person I've dealt with says "The person who touched this order before me, messed it up bad." I've gone through about five people now, and the cycle continues. I've had an estimate done to my home over a week ago, and I still do not have numbers. They even told me that the products I choose was out of stock, and the conversation went like this: me: "You mean this product, that i pulled off of your shelf?" home depot employee: "oh thats not whats on your order, the person who touched this before me messed it up bad." Between the lack of communication, systems crashing, human input error and overall lack of customer care; you're better off taking your business else where. I went into Home Depot on July 19th to get a storm door purchased and installed. They took my $30 for an installer to come out and measure my door. July 27th they came and measured. Heard nothing back at all, called the 3rd of August to inquire what was going on and why I haven't heard anything. I am told that they haven't got the measurement back yet. That they would inquire and get back to me August 6th. Nothing!!! I have called and sat on hold for 15 minuets with no one answering the phone. First I just want to say I understand when things get busy and overwhelming during the holidays/covid. I came in to simply buy a Christmas tree I knew the exact one I wanted all I wanted was for them to trim it down and I could take it to my car myself. We have gotten a Christmas tree every year from home depot but from now on I will be going elsewhere on the island. I have never had a bad experience here but the lady in customer service, who I will kindly not name told me, "Can I ask you why you want to get a tree from us they're more expensive you're better off going elsewhere. Nobody is answering in gardening and it's not worth it buying from us". Now she did give me another place to go close (saved me money and had better service) so I do appreciate that from her...but I've never gone to a business where they tried to defer me away because they were busy. I told this person twice I'm happy to wait I'm here now I would like to get it here and she pretty much told me nobody is answering the phones and she couldn't help me. If you are not gonna have somebody in the gardening center and you're short staffed simply close it down then or block off the trees. read more

My wife and I purchased a washer and dryer 2 weeks ago. I went back to the store to check on the order and to show the clerks the type of out the washer would need. I find out the my order was canceled without notification and the system never saved the model types that we purchased. The only good thing is from this was the clerk was patient with me and got a refund. When you purchase any appliances, make sure the order goes through and the clerks give you the paperwork with the model types. The receipt I have had proof of purchase but not the specific models that were purchased. read more

They took my $60 right away for an item they didn't even have so yes they stole my money because they have $60 of mine and I left empty handed! I don't typically leave reviews unless they are good, but I am so disappointed with staff at the Oak Harbor Home Depot that I just felt that I needed to make everyone aware of how they operate whenever there is a problem. I also want to warn everyone that if you do not keep proof of your conversations, phone records, take names and keep dates...you will be completely dismissed and treated as though they have never heard of you. Every time I look at my brand new, significantly expensive LG refrigerator with all of its dents and creases...obviously from shipping and/or storage prior to arriving in my home...it just upsets me. So maybe I will feel better by putting this all into a review. When the fridge arrived, I didn't notice it, and when the light hit it after it was installed, I pointed it out to the delivery man and he indicated that I would need to talk to someone at the store about it. I called the store, and was told that someone would get back to me. After no response for weeks, I called again and got the same response. This went on for months. Finally, I was told that it had been too long, and I would need to call LG. When I called LG, they indicated that it had been too long and that I would need to take it up with the store. When I called the store again, they acted like they had never heard of me and said to call LG and put in a repair order. I did and LG called back indicating that I would have to pay for a service call and the door replacement. Wow...so now I am stuck with a dented up refrigerator for the next 10-15 years. One that I paid top dollar for. I guess I learned my lesson...I will never buy from Home Depot again. read more

I ordered, and paid, for a new garage door with installation. It is now over one week, and the installer hasn't called to schedule the installation. I called customer support and was told that they only use one installer, and I would need to wait up to two more business days before getting a call back to schedule the install. This is ridiculous to make a customer wait just to schedule. It is completely unnecessary. Home Depot - This is an easy fix, and here are a couple of solutions. 1) Use more than one installer. This is basic due diligence. If one installer can not do the job of at least scheduling. You have another one on hand. 2) Use a shared cloud calendar with the installer. In this case, the Home Depot representative could schedule the install when the customer is onsite instead of having to wait a week and a half. In addition, I would also suggest that the customer support reps. ask for feedback from the customer instead of replying that there's nothing they can do about it. read more

Had a great experience here. Everyone is willing to help. The only downfall to this store is they have no appliances in stock. Everything has to be ordered. We ordered a washer and dryer. So it takes two weeks just to get to the store. Then it takes another two weeks to be delivered. We unfortunately didn't have a washer and dryer once we moved to the island. So going 4 weeks to wait on appliances is a big deal. Probably easier to go off the island to buy. read more

Everyone that helped me figure out what size plywood to get, casters that would be best, cutting it to size and getting it in my car was great. Customer Service at this store is a bad joke. They put you on hold forever. Don't expect them to tell you when your product is going to be delivered. The day they say may happen anytime between 8 AM and midnight. Nobody is managing the "guy" who does the deliveries, so he takes his time and doesn't tell anyone where he is, when it will be delivered, and what his schedule is. How much money is your time worth? How many days can you take off in order to wait for the "guy" to make your delivery? We cancelled the order. read more

Though home improvement is often left for my husband to tackle, I have been into the Oak Harbor Home Depot many times & I have always left thrilled with the amount of help that was offered along with my interaction with the nice employees. However the area I would like to touch on most does not involve tools or helpful workers as much as it does the policy of this location. I just wanted to show my appreciation for the allowance of (polite & leashed) pets. Too many times is it raining or the ground is wet from a recent shower here making it hard to walk my dog. On top of that, the sun goes down quick & it is very cold outside... all are excuses, but all are reasons why I am so grateful the Oak Harbor Home Depot allows me to bring my dog in to socialize & stretch her legs in an otherwise seemingly impossible situation. That really makes me feel like the company does care about my family! I will continue to give my business to this Home Depot over other's or competitors because they truly do continue to make things easier for me on many different levels. read more

when i purchased a full "package" of ge appliances from the oak harbor home depot, they asked for a telephone number to reach me regarding delivery/order issues. when i asked, they assured me that my telephone number would not be used for telemarketing and they assured me that they would not share my number with any third parties that might use it for marketing, surverys, etc. i am now being harassed with phone calls from solicitors - calling from a number that reads, "ge dealer" on my caller i.d. i never used to get calls on this telephone number from solicitors/marketers. i now hope that home depot will fail. by the way, i just ordered a couple of new kohler toilets on amazon.com - deeply discounted and with free delivery!!! i love sticking it to home depot- since they stuck it to me! read more

I was in here the other day, and observed a dog pee all over a display of charcoal - pallet, cardboard pallet display, product, the whole nine yards (never seen a dog pee that much). I advised an associate who grabbed a couple of paper towels, and dried the floor - not touching the product or wrapper. Ended up talking to another associate about everything I saw, and she assured me the diplay would be reset. Went back in the following day, and it hadn't been touched (I confirmed with staff). I've spent my last dime here. I'll buy my materials where I can be confident I'm getting them sans dog urine. read more

If you are going to order and have doors installed, do it elsewhere. I was told the whole process for my doors would take about 10 days. Ordered 7 interior doors, and 3 sets of closet doors. Even though pretty sure they had them in stock, they ordered them. Installer when he came out to do the estimate agreed about 10 days total. Well its already been 21 days, and still no call to install my doors. First the order was going to be a week to get, then 3 more days, and then 3 more etc... Monday they told me the 14th they would be here and of course they didn't get here till today now. Installation contractor has not returned my emails regarding the install. Bad idea to buy here, should have known better. My 72 hour carpet install through Home Depot only took 3 weeks... LOL Do yourself a favor and buy from professional companies not a big box store, of course I paid in advance and cannot get a refund........ wonder how much longer I will wait for my doors. House was going on the market for sale and thanks to the inabilities of home depot and their "professional" installers that is delayed. read more
