Consumers buy HD stocks but shop at Lowes because HD has the IDC, or I Don't Care, customer services, and my pick up experience tonight proved it. Grace, the hard working young lady, put in the water heater order for me a week ago. HD estimated ready for pick up on 11 to 14 Nov. I scheduled a vendor to install it on 15 Nov. The item didn't arrive to the store until the morning of 15 Nov, so I had to reschedule the installation until next week. We came to the store. There was a long waiting line at pick up/return desk, and poor Grace was there by herself. Several teammates walked in and out that counter. The phone never stopped ringing. Nobody seemed caring, for Grace or any customers who were in the line. The guy in front of me who was so upset went to the other counter to find a manager. He couldn't find one, and he returned to tell me that 5 other people were waiting there, too. After 20 minutes, a man appearing to be a Manager stopped by. We let him know. He started calling for help. Then the fire alarm went off. The staff didn't know what to do. Customers found their way to outside. A staff told us to stay away from the front door. 6 to 8 minutes or so went by. Finally the alarm was turned off. We came back in. It took another 15 minutes for the guy who agreed to go pull the item for us to get it to us. Don't get me wrong, Grace did everything she possibly could. But 45 minutes to pick up an item ordered online after HD informed me ready to pick up. Do we know how many things in this world can happen within 45 minutes? We can't help seeing AI robots taking care of customer services. Grace' boss should switch job with her. She cares. read more

This is why I prefer Home Depot Over BLOWES. This is an account of my experience today with BLowes! I waited all morning on a Saturday for an expected delivery of (3) bulk bags of gravel to arrive-delivered to my driveway- and they were supposed to call ahead of time- they didn't. I had already moved my vehicles out of my long driveway so the forklift would not have an issue placing them in the yard near my garage door. Imagine my surprise when (3) bulk bags plus delivery at $270.60 turned out to be (3) 1/2 CF bags of gravel all alone on a single pallet!!! Those tiny bags looked all alone and confused! I can only imagine what the supervisor must have thought when he/she/they/them signed off on the delivery, or, what the driver thought to have to deliver such an order. Maybe he thought I was a rich, invalid or an old man, or a wheelchair-bound old lady...who knows. Was he or she smoking crack this morning? So after speaking with the AI agent on the phone and getting through to a human after 15-minutes of it hallucinating (or smoking Internet crack), I finally got a human, explained the above, and waited 15 minutes on hold while she sorted it all out. She said the earliest the correct order could be delivered was Monday. When asked for an explanation? "The only thing they told me was there was a mixup on the size." Seriously? You think? Stay in school boys and girls and graduate. But if you don't worry, if you don't, there will always be a company like BLowes that will hire you for a management position!!! read more

I will say this location has gotten better lately. I find less aisles closed and less clutter which has usually been my big beef with the Home Depot brand and this store in particular (see previous review). Some of the brands I've shopped for in the past (EGO, JoeMax) are no longer at this store so I'll be looking elsewhere. They still carry Ryobi and I suspect they're in cahoots with each other. I have a collection of Ryobi batteries so any time I need a new cordless power tool, it's usually a Ryobi. The staff is always helpful when you have a question and although they don't stop you and ask if you need help, when you ask, they're very accommodating. I still hate the location as far as trying to get out at the light on Alafaya, but I guess that's not Home Depot's fault. That light needs to be longer or have a right turn only lane. read more

I went i to the store to buy blinds and have them professionally installed. I was told it is $199 for installation for up to 30 windows and there was a free consultation. I received a call later in the day and they told me it was $50 to come out and measure and then $149 for installation. I said I was told it was free consultation, she said yes, the phone call was the consultation....butni would still have to pay the $50 for someone to come out. SORRY THIS IS A RIP OFF...NOBODY ELSE CHARGES TO COME OUT AND MEASURE. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM. read more

I stopped in here to purchase a home brewing kit as a gift. It had to be ordered, but the process was relatively easy and the young man assisting me, Lucas, made the purchase a seemless experience. The Home Depot offers everything that you would need for home improvements and than some. Pricing is decent and there are always plenty of people wearing the signature orange aprons to assist you if it is needed. I eould recommend here. Ugh...Home Depot is the Walmart of home improvement stores in every aspect you can imagine: bad to no customer service, crowded and cluttered, and dirty. Nonetheless, I went there to seek out a new kitchen faucet for the house. I kind of already knew the brand and model I wanted but I wanted to check their inventory and compare it to others. First of all, I'm 6-feet tall with long arms and I want to say about 66% of the displays were out of reach for even me. Doesn't really help you make an informed decision without being able to touch and test their movements. Next, the eternal problem of customer service that this place has. This literally happened. So, I'm in the aisle looking at faucets and two employees come from either end to meet after one of them yelled at the other about wanting to know where the duster was. So, here I am in the middle looking at merchandise and as they passed by me to chat and clearly saw me, neither one of them said hello, can I help you with something, do you have any questions...absolutely nothing. So, literally for the next ten minutes, maybe even longer, I was looking at faucets, reading boxes, and these two didn't recognize my existence. However, one of them was "busy" dusting boxes and the other one, no kidding, was on his cell phone the whole time texting while leaning against the shelves. So, clearly they don't care about customers, so I left, drove straight to Lowe's and I was walking toward the faucets, an employee walking by asked if I had any questions. Needless to say Lowe's got $250 of my money and Home Depot lost $250 of my money. read more

Needed a Fridge delivered to my elderly parents home. The CONTRACTOR that HD uses failed to deliver the fridge TWICE! They said they needed a valve installed and told my parents they needed that. I Called the Corporate offices in Atlanta. What a bunch of incompetent people. Regina and Timothy from the customer satisfaction "center" promised to have a plumber come to the house at no charge AND to have a mini-fridge delivered WHILE the plumber came. Ordered sand and paid triple cost (over $100) for delivery because I am not able. 1st delivery date made at time of purchase ignored. I had to call them to get another date. The 2nd delivery date was today. The driver called to say he was 10 minutes out. I texted him our gate code. I then got an email 15 minutes later saying delivery cancelled. I called driver back. He started yelling at me and claiming he tried to call me. He refused to deliver. Called store and they cancelled order, but Manager refused to get on phone and had some guy named Lucas deal with me. Such awesome customer service! I know that is at most Home Depots but I have been here 3 times within the last month and every visit various people assisted me or asked if I needed assistance/had questions. They have an awesome assortment of fun things to help you fix or add to your living areas. I recently refurbished an antique desk and got all my tools from here. The lovey people in the painting department walked me around to explain everything that goes into painting wood. I would have been lost without them. Now I have a brand new HOT PINK makeup table for my bedroom =) Be jealous! Or pay me $$ and I will refurbish something for you, it's fun! I also scored the new hardware here and it wasn't too bad, 5 pieces for ~$16 My most recent trip was for flowers for my garden. My mother knows all when it comes to gardening so we went all out and got planting soil, pots, tools and tons of flowers. Got a gardening gnome from Old Time Pottery though ;o) They have a huge selection of flowers all labeled with info and care instructions and at a great price! I believe we purchased an entire tray and 8 single flowers and spent under $30 - score! Now my front yard looks like a lady lives here =) Yes, I got hot pink flowers... duh! So as intimidating as this place may be for females (or males) who don't know everything they need to when fixing, decorating or making something... this place helps you out! read more

I am going to give it at least two stars. I mean we all know The Home Depot and what they have. More than likely if they sell it, they will have it. So, why did I give it two stars? Let's explore this: I am 100% blaming this particular Home Depot. I went to Lowe's to order some hardwood floors for a house I was about to close on. Lowe's had the foresight to check their computer system and notify me that the floors wouldn't make it by the date I needed them. (I wanted the new hardwood floors installed, carpet replaced with hardwood on the stairwell, paint, crown molding, appliances...). I had the perfect scheduled -as long as I could get my floors in within 14 days. I visited The Home Depot down the street. I was notified that 14 days would be no issue at all. I was told the floors should be in well in advance. I ordered everything I needed and drove back up to Ocala. Thirteen days later, I drove to Orlando to close on the house. I was en route to pick up the floors. I needed to have them that day (Friday) so they could acclimate in the house over the weekend. Guess what? They weren't there. They called the guy over the section and he said -yeah, "the truck didn't deliver them. But it might deliver them [the following] Tuesday." I canceled after going the f*#* off. The manager called a couple days later to apologize-totally insincere and was clearly checking the block. I went to floor and decor and purchased everything I needed, minus the stair reducers, and walked out with them. read more

This is a review of the false advertising they have on Lower Price Guarantee and how the manger handled it at this store. Hello,I was going to buy a Samsung refrigerator that I liked on HomeDepot.com. I was going to buy it, but then found that it exists at a lower price at an online store somewhere else (will not mention it to avoid thinking I am adverting to it). The price was lower by almost $200 on that site, and asked the associate to match the price as per the HomeDepot Lower Price Guarantee. She could not, so she called for the manager. The manager's name was Ivanka -I believe. I showed her the Price Match Guarantee that HomeDepth has online with all the exclusions as explained here: https://www.homedepot.com/c/PM_New_Lower_Price She still did not accept to honor the lower price, as she claimed they only match BestBuy and Lowes. I told her if this is true, then you are scamming customers by not specifying these stores only in the Lower Price Guarantee terms. This is an example of false advertising and I am not happy with the misleading information. Then she starting coming up with some other BS reasons. I told her you are not making any sense, and all I am asking is to update your terms and conditions for the lower price guarantee to reflect what you ACTUALLY do. She did ignore me of course. I sent to HomeDepot HQ this complain and moved on. This is not the first bad customer service and misleading advertising I had from this HomeDepot store. I am done with it. We stopped in to pick up some potting soil and mulch. There was plenty of selection; grade, quality, and size, along with the price. I'm in the midst of a home renovation project and this place has been my go-to for good quality interior paint. The painting staff are absolutely amazing, and the paint colors are ridiculously spot on! As for the store as a whole, it has been my experience that finding staff for general questions and guidance has been difficult. I have learned to wait in line at the customer service counter to ask for advice or to find out what aisle something is on. Customer service staff are nice and will help you find the information you need even if they need to call around to ask. Personally, I wish I could readily find staff for help without waiting in line but this method of problem solving has worked for me thus far. If you know what you're doing (I'm learning slowly), you will likely be able to maneuver yourself around easily. I will continue to shop at this store. read more

I recently had my house tiled by Home Depot. The tile looks great but the people who did the tile damaged my garage and now it comes out of the hinges. I called to let them know and supposedly they tried calling and my mailbox was full when they tried contacting me so I cleared it Incase I missed the call and never got a call back from them despite calling to remind them I needed to talk to someone. On top of that I had to return 2,000 dollars worth of tile making me wonder if they over charged me for the labor considering how much extra tile I had. I can understand why the reviews are all over the place and less than par overall. I'm currently disabled and had to deal with quite the ordeal to try and receive a refund for an overcharge at the checkout. Mind you they are closing so I'm at the registers at the 25th hour however during checkout and before paying I ask the attendant at the self checkout regarding a charge. He mentioned that I would still need to pay and then proceed to customer service to do a core exchange for some lawnmower batteries. I then exited and proceeded to customer service to exchange the old batteries and refund the core charge only to be presented with locked doors. so I walked all the back to the checkout area, entered the store and started to proceed to customer service however they had already shut down. So here I am two batteries which are extremely heavy to manage and and over charge on my receipt. I then spoke with the Manager Wilson and he was less than accommodating accusing me of just now arriving to the store. Incorrect I was in the store for almost an hour trying to find what I needed only to be overcharged at the checkout. Needless to say he was more worried about kicking people out of the store instead of fixing the exchanged core item. So now I'll need to make a second trip with heavy batteries to try and attempt to refund what should have been done at checkout or by the lazy manager. read more

This Home Depot is always clean, well stocked and has very friendly employees. I moved to the area a little while ago, and I was really surprised to find genuinely helpful employees. (Shame on you DC Home Depots) There's 4 self check out lanes and maybe 10 or so regular registers (regular registers are almost always closed, save for one) There's a large outdoor garden area. I bought an awesome tree--it's a hybrid Meyer lemon & Key Lime tree! Both fruit trees are grafted onto a single dwarf root stock. So one patio size tree yields two kinds of fruit (powwow! Blew my mind!) We've also used their granite counter services, carpeting services and attic insulation services. All were fine, but he beat part was the convenience of one stop stopping (we were in a rush) All in all, a good warehouse shop for all your needs. read more

Here's mine: Just loaded 30+ pieces of 2x6x8 Wood off of the middle pallet displayed in the store while two employees literally sat and watched. Not one of them offered to help. Ok, weird, but ok. I went to get 4x4 posts, again on the middle pallet. Climbed up and grabbed 3. No one to offer assistance. It's Sunday, they are not busy! What happens if next time I fall? Who's around to help? No signs posted, nothing! As a liability insurance adjuster, they have a lawsuit waiting to happen from someone! Finally, after I checked out with a large load of wood, employees just nonchalantly walking around in lot watching me load it by myself. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! For the longest time I've been going to Lowes for my home improvement needs, particularly for my garden mostly because it's so close to where I live but today I was near home depot and decided to stop in and get some gardening supplies that I needed and was exceedingly impressed with the variety of vegetation they offer and at very reasonable prices. I was dreading having to carry bags of mulch especially since I was by myself but an attendant informed me that all I needed to do was pay for it at the register and I could bring my car around and he would load it in my car for me. I didn't even have to say anything, he just offered to do it which was so very helpful. Thinking about it, in all the times that I've gone to Lowes garden center, I don't ever recalled being offered that service. Definitely going to make the extra drive and come here instead from now on for my garden needs. read more
