We purchased custom sliding closet doors from The Home Depot (Oro Valley, AZ) and paid $268 for professional installation. After waiting nearly six weeks for the doors and service, the workmanship we received was extremely disappointing. The installer cut the pull hole on the wrong side of one door, leaving both pulls on the same side instead of right and left. There are also scratches and gouges around the pulls. The doors are not installed evenly. There are gaps where the doors meet the wall -- on one side the gap is wider at the top, and on the other side it is wider at the bottom. Stickers that are difficult to remove were left on the doors, the doors themselves were left dirty, and there were dirty handprints on our walls and on the white trim. We contacted the store to correct the problems and were told they cannot even reorder the doors until an inspection takes place, which is scheduled 10 days from now. We even provided pictures of the unsatisfactory work to them. After already waiting weeks, this additional delay is unacceptable. We expected far better quality, professionalism and customer service especially at the price we paid. This is the shoddiest work I have ever received from a contractor -- never again! read more

The service is usually fast, The selection is huge! Goes all the way from pots and plants to tools and equipment. Not really a good value, sometimes items can be too expensive. This place is unbelievable. I always verify they have the item instore & print it before I make the 21-mile round trip to buy it. Yesterday, I walked in with a printed copy of a Kwikset deadbolt showing11 in stock. Naturally, it wasn't on the shelf. Two employees searched both shelves and stored items above the shelf. They simply could not find it. Their excuse was "I assumed it's on a pallet somewhere". They usually blame stockers.This happens 50% of the time! Just because you show printed proof of an instore stocked item doesn't mean it's on their shelves. I have lived all over the USA and this is the most poorly stocked HD I have ever shopped in. read more

We just had our 20-year old kitchen countertops replaced with quartz yesterday. From the beginning of the project, meeting with the HD kitchen designer, to the measuring process, and installation team, the process was amazing. Home Depot delivered and completed our project from beginning to end in less than a month. Every one of the staff were professional, helpful, and attentive. The result is beautiful and we could not be more pleased. I highly recommend this Home Depot. The one on Costco Drive? Not so much. We went to Lowe's, then HB on Costco Drive, and were about to just give up when we decided to try the OV store. Third time was certainly a charm for us! read more

We had to go to customer service with our cart today, which is Fourth of July around 233 ladies were talking one older curly bleached blonde hair another young lady with glasses and dark hair and another. We're just sitting there or excuse me standing there talking I go up. Home Depot is dead again because it's Fourth of July, nobody is in line and the lady with the older woman with the bleach blonde hair and a ponytail curly literally starts chewing me out because she said there's a line well guess what nobody's even there then she said oh but it's fine. Just came here to pick up some parts for garbage disposal. They had a small display and I asked the manager Pat where the rest of the products were for plumbing and garbage disposals and he said that's all they had. I asked a second associate so I'm all due with a long beard if you knew where the piping was for The garbage disposal and he corrected me and said you mean PVC. I don't know what kind of semantics game they're playing. You can call it what you want pipe PVC what have you you know what I mean as I point at the tubing that I'm looking for. I asked a third associate who actually knew the store and the products that they sell and directed me to the correct aisle. If I hadn't driven over here already, I would've left all the other stuff I had and walked out. I've never had such horrible customer service and such a horrible experience at this Home Depot ever. read more

Bought a GE dishwasher. About 2 months of use, it quit working. Called store who told us we had to work with GE. GE does not offer service time windows or advance calls so had to give up the day and sit in our house waiting. A long term tech said he fixed. About 5 uses later, same thing. Called Home Depot who told us to "pound sand". Not their problem. Really??!!! We bought from Home Depot! Said I would buy a more expensive model. Nope! Called GE again. WASTED ANOTHER FULL DAY. Same tech. This time he had to call GE & they decided it is due to a bad part which of course has to be ordered. It's been a month since I had the worst interaction with service desk, her name is K_ _ _ _ Try to keep this to the point. Stopped at Oro valley home Depot to return a Dyson stick vacuum. It was clean in box, all paperwork except a receipt. I explained to, let's call her K at service desk. My 88 yr old mother in law lives close to that home Depot, she shops there for our presents. She does not order online. The box has shipping tag showing it was at their store. Only had it for few months, motor stopped. Has a date from shipping, this year. K said nothing without receipt can be returned. Box shows 2yr warranty. She snotty said I can't find this on my computer... We don't sell this? Tried to explain look at box... Just wanted to exchange. K said go to vacuum department and see if they can help me? Guess service desk doesn't help or call dept, instead she yell and waved her arms for me to go. I went to vacuum department, they were out Zack a very nice and knowledgeable clerk. Zack printed me the vacuum and price 399.99 Said take this to her. I went back to service desk waited in long line... K was rude to this old man making return. K told him to go to the department and have them help him. K looks at me, upset! Tried to hand her the paperwork from Zack. She took it called store manager? So she said, laughing on phone... I told her no receipt no return. K gets off phone, I could hear her I said. K was pissed. Came out from behind the counter carrying the paperwork. She grabbed my cart and jerked it so she could get close to me... She asked me if I was stupid! (College degree- machinest - retired due to terminal cancer) She said shut your mouth, I was saying what!:it made no sense! K yelling so close I could see her studs on her tongue!!! K turned my cart around and said get the receipts from your mother-in-law.. K called me names, nasty. I don't yell or lose control. I simply state the facts and I keep all records of event. I was upset, went to restroom, brook out in tears. 30 yrs in factory mostly men they never saw me cry. I walk away! Zack saw me, he got assistant manager... He ensured me she would be removed... They would replace the vacuum when it is stocked It's been over a month, almost 2. And I am still waiting for vacuum. K is still at desk.... Nothing happened.. a friend of husband works there.. Working on a project and needed a few tools quickly. They had every item I needed in stock. Great store, location and helpful staff.

On April 26th I ordered some Water softener salt. I needed it the same day and paid an extra $35.00 for same day delivery. I didn't get a shipment (or even a notification) on 04/26. Nor did I get a shipment (or notification) on 04/27. I got the shipment on 04/28 in the early morning, when I didn't need it anymore (I had already gotten the salt I needed from ACE Hardware). I contacted your HQ Customer service who told me they couldn't help me, but had contacted the Oro Valley store manager and he would credit me with the $35. Here it is on 05/06 and still no credit. Called the OV Store manager, who claimed to be one Craig Knudsen who told me that Corporate Customer service had lied to me and he had not spoken to them and couldn't issue such a credit. I told him to STUFF his $35 credit, because it wasn't worth anymore of my time, and I hung up on him. I also told him I would never again set foot in any Home Depot store. read more

I come here on occasion for gardening supplies, and have had very few bad experiences. I would usually buy planting containers from them, and they used to drill drainage holes for me (as I have no power tools at home, nor do I really want to bother my neighbors that I never introduced myself to because that would be rude if you ask me.) HOWEVER, today I came in to buy 2 planters for veggie gardening. They told me they never drill holes for people, can't do it even though I had the receipt in hand, had just bought them and that I have had store members at that very store do that for me before?? Even when I explained my past experiences there and explaining my predicament, they refused!! I'm really not happy about this. What if I can't have or use power tools? read more

Multiple bad experiences. Latest was March 2022. Rented a trencher for some landscaping in my backyard. Got it gassed up & took it home to find it was broken - the pull string. When I returned it to Home Depot the manager refunded me the rental cost but not for the gas and would not offer a discount for a future rental. I can rent elsewhere and I will. Very dissatisfied with Home Depot Oro Valley appliance service. I bought and had delivered a new GE washer to our guest house. My fault for not testing it out but waited for our guests to arrive. The washing machine is missing major parts and has never worked. Just found out today they have a 48 hour window once installed. New to me! Since I'm outside the 48 hour window since installation, there is nothing Home Depot will do. Not even "we are sorry!" They delivered a machine that is missing so many parts and referred me to GE. GE repair is now in the seventh week with no parts, no repair and no working machine. Feeling very dissatisfied with such extremely poor service! Will not buy from here again! read more

I have to say, I'm flabbergasted by the 4 stars reviews of this place. I went today to buy some redwood that I needed to raise a garden tub, it was around 5:30pm. I got to the lumber section and there were no employees around. I heard the noise of the fork lift on the next aisle so I went there and one of the 2 guys working it came and ask what I needed, I told him and he said to wait and he'd come back in a bit. After standing there for about 20 mins with he and the other guy going back and forth with the fork lift right on the aisle where I was waiting I had started getting impatient so I walked the whole of the store trying to find somebody else, I asked the guy on the painting department and he said he'd call somebody up, another 10 mins standing by the lumber and nothing. I gave up and went to the register to pay for a plant I had in my cart, the cashier lady ask if I had found what I was looking for so I told her the story. She said she'd get somebody and to go back to where the cutter was, when I got there I was so angry that when I saw 2 different guys getting off another fork lift I went to them directly and ask if one of them could cut the wood for me, one of them did it. But nobody ever came from any of "those calls to send somebody to help you" I have to say this is no surprise to me, I used to live in Sierra Vista and it was the same ordeal when I went to the HD there. it's time to change home improvement stores I guess. Whoever is in charge of training this people should take a management course from ACE Hardware, now that's a store that cares to keep the customer happy! read more

My husband didn't initially want to go to Home Depot in Oro Valley on Memorial Day, one of the only days he gets off early, because he thought it would be busy and there would be no one to help us. He was only half right. There were actually two workers for every customer, or so it seemed. Customer service had 4 workers and no clients when we walked by. They were doing exactly what all the other workers, except the kid gathering carts in the 98-degree sun in the parking lot were doing: talking TO EACH OTHER. Not one worker asked us if we were finding everything okay, or if we needed any help. We came for several things: gazebo stain, outdoor bench varnish, plants for the front bed, and hinges for our corner kitchen cabinet. We were also browsing the washer/dryers because we will be getting a set in the near future. All these things should be available there, right? Only one person asked us if we needed help...do they get commissions in appliances? So for over 10 bucks an hour, all you have to do is show up, at Home Depot. You'd think they'd want more bang for their buck, as demonstrated by the workers trying to convince you to use self-serve. (I never could figure out why people help put themselves out of work.) We actually asked one of two women working in kitchen design, talking to each other, with no clients, where to find kitchen hinges, and they told us...the wrong aisle. Note they didn't offer to show us or help us know which ones work with a corner lazy Susan cupboard. So then we asked the guy working the construction desk, who was talking to a female worker standing in front of the counter with her hands in her apron pockets. He didn't stop leaning on the counter but asked us if we had checked the end of aisle 21. If we had, would we be asking? No one moved from their conversation. We walked down there, and found hinges, but were confused about what kind to get. So we got nothing, and after discussing it decided that from now on it's worth it to pay more and shop at Ace where they have actually, truly got helpful hardware men and women!!!! Only shop at Home Depot if...hell, never shop there. Try Lowes if you don't want to go to Ace. read more

In January of 2022 I organized for a new door to be installed at my house in Oro Valley through Home Depot. Despite the fact it took them until the fall of '22 to get the door in stock and the installation finalized I was pleased with the result. No problem with the finished product or those who did the job. However...unbeknownst to me Home Depot saw fit to pull a BUILDING permit to replace this door (only replace it, not relocate it) from the town of Oro Valley! Wouldn't you think if they set these bureaucratic wheels in motion they would have the decency to see this permit through to the final inspection which is now required? Nope. February of 2023 I get a notice through "signature required registered mail" ( try spending 3 days when you work 9-5 trying to get a time when me and the postman can meet up so he can look me in the eye while I sign) for a notice that the door needs final inspection or this unfinished permit could someday impede the sale of my house!!!! Thanks Home Depot for FINALIZING this job. My advice to you is look your Home Depot sales person in the eye at the time of purchase, ask if a permit will be taken out for the work you want done and IF SO then they better get their man over there at jobs end and do it. Otherwise you too will be waiting to sign a registered letter and still be dealing with a small job that should have been done months ago. read more

I asked for a price match from Gale. She stated that she would not price match because it was not a major retailer. She stated that policy dictates that it MUST be a major retailer and it MUST be only local. I stated that the policy DOESN'T reflect that at all. She said "Ok well you could just be pulling up a wholesaler and I can't verify that. So I guess I'll have to call the manager." Rather than call the front lanes manager who I have dealt with before and was always quite pleasant, she called Jeff, the night manager I'm assuming. It took him 5-10 minutes to get from the customer service area to the lane I was at, #2 I believe. He didn't come up and ask how he could help or what was going on, he came up and said "What's the problem?" Gale, while waiting for him, looked up the company I was attempting to use as a price match and verified that it was not a wholesaler. She responded to him by saying "He wants me to price match an online price for a company that is in Michigan and I wont do it." Jeff looked at me and said "No, that's not going to happen. The policy states it has to be local and a major retailer." I asked him to show me that in the policy. He again stated that policy states that and they WILL NOT even match online pricing if the company is not based in the same state. I asked him to show me where it states that on the policy. That if the policy does actually say it must be a MAJOR local retailer that I would pay full price and we wouldn't have any issues. He said it does. I said ok, show me then, you have a computer right here. He reluctantly went over to the computer and started reading. He said "Part of the 'exclusions' are no volume or discount pricing." I said "Lumber is not considered volume. If I buy so many 2x4s from you I get a discount at "Bulk Pricing"." He doubled down and said "Volume includes lumber. Everyone knows that. It doesn't qualify." He never once asked to see the website I was looking at, or the company I was trying to use. I asked where on the policy it specifically listed "Lumber as a volume item". He also never read to me where it states it has to be a MAJOR retailer and MUST be local. He sighed and said "Look, I'm going to give you the price this one time but I'm to ask you not to shop here anymore." I said "Ok, that's fine but show me where it states that lumber doesn't qualify and that's that." He said "if you want the discount you can have it, but again I'm asking you not to shop here anymore." I said "ok, fine." He walked over to Gale and said "Give him the discount but I asked him to not shop here anymore. He's done..." At that point I asked for the corporate number, he ignored me, so I asked for it again. Gale said "Jeff, where is the corporate number?" He said "He can just call 1-800-Home-Depot" I said "Ok and what's the store number?" Jeff said "You can just read your receipt." and walked away while I was asking for his employee number or something I can use to identify him. I attempted to take the survey online and it told me that I was unable to due to the lack of valid User ID or Password. I don't know if Gale gave me the wrong receipt or what, but she did log out of the transaction while we were waiting in an attempt to modify the check out time. I worked with Jeff previously at Home Depot and I can't be sure, but it feels like payback for something. While handing in my resignation he called me a coward and other names. On more than one occasion he refused to help my wife and I and often just told us to head in a general direction rather than actually help us find what we needed. He also ignored me several times while attempting to ask him for help in passing over several visits. This is possibly the worst experience I've ever had at Home Depot. I was extremely calm during the whole exchange, I didn't use a single curse word or raise my voice. The only thing I did was ask him to provide backup for his claims. He and his little ego apparently didn't appreciate that someone would dare question the Great and Powerful Jeff. I would understand if I was yelling or screaming or causing a scene, however, none of that was the case. This was horrible customer service and if I'm wrong I'm wrong, all I was doing was asking him to show me where the policy states that I'm wrong. I am more than happy to admit if I'm wrong, because I'm not a Karen, but I sure as hell am not going to take his word for it simply because he says so especially given our history together and when so many other managers and employees had no issue with the price match prior. read more

Used the HomeDepot to purchase windows. This was absolutely the worst experience. The job was not completed and trim is falling off. I have spent 2 months contacting their installation team only to find out repair/replacement parts were never ordered. Interior trim is peeling off Latches don't work and the overall support has been extremely poor. Still no resolution or plan. I will never use them for any home improvement again. read more

Ok I get it- I'm a chick. First time I came in the guy who helped me was amazing. Wish I had gotten his name- was super friendly, found everything on my list for me, wouldn't let me carry anything, walked me to the register, and even waited in line with me...haha wait..maybe he should have gotten MY name ;) The next visit on the same day- I needed lumber and asked someone at the service desk to call someone to help me. I told the guy what I was using the lumber for...and yeah, ok, I don't know what the difference between the many types of wood are...so of course he sold me the most expensive wood they had even after I told him it was going to be covered with drywall. Not cool. Then I needed 1" drywall screws and he said they do not exist and sold me something else. Turns out they DO exist. Thanks again. The success of my visits here greatly depend on the staff helping me. Do not trust all their staff as experts because many are not. read more

This home depot is located in the Rooney Ranch shopping center located at 1st and Oracle. It is a nice store with friendly employees. They usually have what I need and I am in and out pretty quick. I have purchased several items from them over the years. The employees always go above and beyond compared to most places. I have even had them cut lumber for me and it was done fast and the measurements were perfect. The paint department does a great job and I have used them several times. If you bring the kids be sure to check out the pond in the garden area with the turtles and fish. read more

I ordered French doors and the sales person was wonderful and I was excited to get my doors. It took about four weeks to come in and the installers were scheduled. When the installers came, they were really nice but did a very sloppy job. The casing around the door was covered with dirty smudges, they did not insulate as promised, the door would not open, close and lock properly and they did not put in the plugs to hide the screw holes and the doors were hung unevenly. The wrong handles were sent out with the door. They installers installed the handles incorrectly. The framing was cut to the wrong length and patched. That installer came back and replaced the incorrect molding and forgot the plugs. The door still did not lock, open and close properly but he said that was not his job, another person would come out. Many weeks later (4) the proper door handles came and someone came out to install. There was only one handle sent and the door required two. The proper handle was reordered and came after another three weeks. The installer came on Sunday during dinner and was in a very bad mood - very uncomfortable. He installed the handles and they look great. He tried to fix the door and then left. Almost three months later, the door still does not close properly. Even though we have no experience with this type of thing, I think we would have been better off buying the door and trying to install it ourselves! read more

Don't be trusting the HD app for stock. Spent nearly an hour jumping around store. App say they had what I wanted in stock so figure I find myself as I know the store setup. Get there and they only got three similar items but not the one I looking for. Even tho the app say they got 7 in stock! I go to customer service and they say the same thing I just stated. After a few calls I get told they been moved to new area and when I go they got no items there but other items from brand. One of the staff comes walking up looking for what I assume is what I'm looking for but he don't state this till after I try and walk away. Finally I just decide to get another similar item which is more pricier but no!!! Still not in stock and I refuse to go through what I just finished enduring. What a waste of time and no help. The two ladies at the door simply stared at us. No "hello" or even a half smile. Total blank stares. Employees were abundant so I thought we wouldn't have trouble getting service. Wrong.
