I came into the store to get some garden soil. I was only in for a short amount of time, but as with any Home Depot I tend to get distracted. Doh! I was checking out their plants and they had a great sale on Fiddle Figs. So of course I had to buy me one and a snake plant. The employees seemed helpful. I saw them assisting other customers although I didn't need any help. The woman who checks me out at the garden center was very helpful. The Good: ample parking, great paint selection and reasonable prices for some items Areas of improvement: there are hardly any staff members on the floor and several who are, refuse to help when you find them. I was basically told "this is not my section" several times. As a result, I purchased the paint but went elsewhere for the other items I needed. I believe this location is best suited for those who know the store layout and that are relatively handy already. Otherwise, you may spend a lot of time figuring it out yourself. The store is wonderful. Staff are welcoming and offer assistance before they are asked. They always have what I need, and they are patient with questions and truly try to help us solve our home repair issues. I was very disappointed with their plumbing contractor, Barr Plumbing. We needed a faucet replaced in the kitchen. I can't use the old one. We requested service and were told we would receive a call back. We got a call back immediately but missed the call. I called back a second later and we were told to call back the next day. I called back the next day and they said they would return my call, but they never did. I called again and they said the person who could schedule services would be back in 2 days. We called back in 2 days and they said someone put the order in wrong at Home Depot. I told her we hadn't had water in the kitchen for 5 days, but she didn't care. My son called Home Depot and we got on the waiting list for a phone call from Barr Plumbing again. They called and said they had the wrong information again. In a very snotty tone. If they had said, "I'm so sorry, Ma'am, this still needs to be corrected" I would have patiently continued to try to solve the problem, but instead she cut me off with rude and provoking intonation and I hung up. I still have no water in the kitchen and it's been over a week now. Maybe something was incorrectly input into the system by Home Depot--it's still a mystery at this point, but it was Barr Plumbing that delayed my installation by taking days and days to respond. When is it acceptable to have a customer wait over 30 minutes to pick up a package(s) that were ordered on line. The attitude of most of the employees is very lacking when it comes to customer service. I was never notified that the packages had arrived. I could have picked it up 5 days earlier. read more

So...let's start off with the positives... Parking There is AMPLE parking. Just be mindful of the carts and flatbed carts as the parking lot has a bit of a slope. The store is NOT responsible for vehicle damage. Stock There is plenty of everything. All of the shelves (that I saw) were well stocked. Store The store was neat and well kept. The floors were clean and free from debris. Staff Horrible!! The staff are milling about but don't appear to be doing anything other than walking from end to end of the isle. I literally watched this happen. When they did stop, they talking about each other not working?!?! Mind you, I am 10-12 feet from them and they aren't even trying to be discreet. Their language was atrocious, sailors on weekend pass would be offended. To top it off, none of them ever offered to help me or even acknowledged my presence as a customer. I will return to this store because they have what I need. But if customers service is even remotely important to you, shop at another location. read more

I called to speak with the hiring manager about my job application status. And the lady just kept saying "My name is Tamera how can I help you" she said that 4 times straight I'm thinking that she couldn't hear me so I kept saying, "Uh Yes, I would like to speak to a hiring manager??" After while she says, "that would be me sir." Why not just say that at the beginning instead of sounding like an AI Chatbot or something repeating, "my name is Tamera how can I help you?" Each time she was saying it she sounded rude and upset or like in her feelings. Customer Service needs to get better. Now I can't speak for everyone but personally I wouldn't want to work here after experiencing that and I wasn't even working there I was just a customer calling. My mother said she would've felt the same way and not want to work there after that. Tamera could've just said "speaking" or "this is she." She just kept repeating her name and that doesn't help me with anything except maybe the fact she couldn't hear me. read more

I saw these 4 large beautiful ferns in Home Depot and for about a week or two I contemplated whether I was going purchase them or not. Today I decided to purchase all 4, I knew they were not going to fit in my car so I asked if I could purchase them and come back to pick them up later. I was told since they were live I could not pay for them now but they will hold them for 24 hours. Someone name Matt put all 4 on a cart with my name on a piece of paper that said hold until 6pm the next day. I asked what time does the garden close because I'm going to come later, Matt said the garden area is open till 10pm. I got back there at 9:30 the same day and they had already sold 2 of the ferns ...I am pissed. read more

This is hard to believe. I came to the store Sunday early morning to present a check toward my Home Depot credit card payment. Instead of carefully reading the amount I wrote on the check and the matching amount I wrote my Home Depot credit card monthly statement, the associate posted in Home Depot's system an electronic check payment $100. in excess of what I authorized. I was livid! This turned out to be not any associate, but the Acting Store Manager. I called Home Depot Credit right away after leaving the store, and I called them back that afternoon to inquire about whether I should put a stop payment on my check. First, I was told that the payment was cancelled, but later that day a supervisor told me it was not. Akso, the Home Depot Credit Card associate consulted with her supervisor who informed me that if this was her situation she'd do a stop payment on my check. I contacted my bank first thing Monday morning to initiate that action. I was upset and must have spent at least two-hours making multiple phone calls on Sunday and Monday. I was put on hold for awhile before I actually spoke with a representative. I have found that most of the customer service associates at this store are robotic and do not provide good customer service. Apparently, store management is indifferent and just wants a warm body to be present, regardless of competency. read more

Home Depot Owings Mills MD ordered French doors. The doors were damaged on two separate occasions. First order arrices contractor goes to pick up: damaged. Reordered. Second door order arrives: damaged. Reordered. On the third try, HD indicated they were unable to order the doors from the vendor in THEIR SYSTEM and asked me to reorder the door by going to their site and ordering the doors again. Obviously, they refunded the purchase amount.I asked about difference between my order purchase price and the current price. They directed me to inform HD when making the order. Their choice was not to research and demonstrate a willingness to meet a disappointed customer's expectations to salvage reputation but to further inconvenience the customer. 1. Shouldn't HD inspect and ensure the merchandise ordered and delivered is undamaged and secure it in such a manner as to prevent damage. 2. Why can't HD order the product in my case? Wouldn't a better decision been...we are having technical issues but will contact you when we have confirmation of the order. Is this a reflection of HD organizational values? Does the manager need to be replaced? read more

Richard in plumbing is fantastic and deserves a raise. Couldn't find anyone else in the store who was helpful in the least. Richard was able to get our special order in for a bone-colored one-piece toilet and handle it easily. I waited to place this review to make sure the toilet came in and wasn't broken on arrival. Home Depot made it easy to take care of this purchase. Richard was also able to assist with ordering a new, internal compactor that is back-ordered but will hopefully arrive soon. Aside from Richard, no one else approached us to assist us. I really hate that stores like this have no one around to assist. Again, Richard needs a raise, he knows what he is talking about and took care of all of our needs. read more

He was very knowledgeable and patient as he explained to me the various types, qualities and finishings of interior paints. I purchased a bedroom door on line yesterday and I bought it from the Owings Mills store because the website indicated there were 9 in stock at that location. My preferred store is Reisterstown #2584 so I was making a purchase several more miles out of my way. And as promised, I was contacted "within 2 hours" to confirm my purchase but it was not a text, it was a woman calling to tell me the doors were out of stock. She called just as I was pulling in to the parking lot. So I decided to go in and just have a look around. I found 2 of the doors I was looking for. So I carried one to the checkout and was out of there in 10 minutes. And I won't be back. I won't be back because I suspect that the problem was a desire on the part of the company to get me to pay for delivery which would have cost much more. The only option for delivery was "express" and I resent the bait and switch tactic. People need to support small businesses and buy as local as possible because these big cheating corporations are getting out of control. read more

This is my 3rd product purchased from Home Depot, Owings mills that has been delivered or picked up with problems. The 1st was a toilet that had been reboxed and put back on the shelf as new. When my contractor attempted to install it, we discovered it had been used. The 2nd item was a washing machine, delivered during covid when staying away from others was a must. As soon as the delivery men left, I discovered that the washer had a huge dent, which I was given compensation for. This week, I bought a supposedly new electric stove, which has a loose oven seal, and looks like it was returned by another dissatisfied customer after use. At present, I am awaiting a new stove delivery. I have bought numerous products from home depot because it's closer to me, but if this last product isn't redelivered to my satisfaction, I think I'm done. read more

I purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot on May 25th. I would give a zero if I could. I purchased it online as the manager in the Owings Mills store would not honor the online price even though it was not an online special. I was told the refrigerator would be delivered on June 12th. On June 11th they sent a voicemail moving it to July 3rd. On July 2nd they sent a voicemail moving it to July 12th. On July 11th they sent a voicemail moving it to July 24th. Today, 7/22, I just received a voice mail moving it to August 17th! And to make matters worse they charged my credit card on May 25th! Aren't charges to be credited when the merchandise is delivered? I understand items being back ordered due to a COVID, but when I spoke to Home Depot asking how they tracked inventory that was available for delivery they said as long as it shows in the system somewhere in the country they show it available for delivery and they already charged me! I have zero confidence that it will be delivered on August 17th. This is absurd! read more

This review is not about the Owings Mills Home Depot location, as a whole. This review is about a specific employee at the Owings Mills location; Darryl Hines. Darryl is, by far, the kindest employee I've ever encountered. He was friendly, engaging, and extremely helpful. He was constantly smiling and left me feeling as though I needed to share my good mood with everyone around me, for the rest of the day. I work in an industry that relies heavily on customer relations and I pride myself on understanding the psychology and effect of good customer service. I also know the value of an employee who understands its importance. I usally don't have any issues but I ordered a storm door on 8/30 paid $30 for them to come out and measure. About 2 weeks later I get a call and the guy as to come out and measure. Great! No problem right? Well that was the last I heard from HD. I called them 3 weeks later some associate who apparently knows nothing about the department she's in says she'll have someone get back to me.You guessed it, no one calls me. I call them back the next day and I'm connected with a wonderful young man named Jamal. He looks up my order and informs me the person that took my order no longer works there and it would appear the necessary information was never passed along. He apologized and I told him I was coming into pay for my door. I go in thinking this shouldn't take long. I wait at customer service for a few minutes. There was only 1 person all by herself doing the best she could to service everyone. I catch a random employee and ask them to page the manager. I explain the situation to Dan the manager. He apologized and trys to help me. The person who initially took the order messed up a lot of stuff. Dan ends up sending me to Jamal who cut his lunch short to help me. I'm pleased to say Jamal was a delight in the midst of this confusion. He went over everything with me until everything was straight. Dan gave me a discount and again apologized. There's so much a person can say about Home Depot. I had to come back because a week ago I had to get some lumber cut for a sliding door. This location has an excellent lumber person is. The catch is you have to find him When I went initially to get the wood cut he was there but he advised his understudy to cut it for me. BURN!! When I got home and saw what this young man did I was like gosh. The length o wanted it cut required a hand saw. When I was watching him cut it -it was like watching a kid putting a circle in a square. Nevertheless I had to come back and have it cut again. Luckily I was able to get another older gentleman named Stephen (Steve) that did an excellent job. He was like gepetto with the slab. I'm happy happy as I can be. Home Depot can be a toss up. I normally have "ok" experiences while shopping at this store and normally would not "write" a review on The Home Depot but....today's experience needs to be noted. I purchased a piece of insulation material and wanted to have it "scored" / cut down the middle so that it would fit in my vehicle. I returned to the department and the MALE employee told me he could not do it. Puzzled I asked why not and he says he just can't and he is only suppose to cut lumber. Ok, you have and X-Acto utility knife, just use that. He replies no. Hymm, ok why not? It doesn't have to be perfect, I'm not using this to build a home, I just need to be able to put it in my car. Well the only thing I can do is cut it width wise...no I want it cut length wise. He then tells me I can use his knife to cut it myself-so I did in less than 2 min. Thanks for your help. Moral to the story...they would rather take the chance of me cutting myself than to score a piece of foam board themselves. read more
