I teach at a school in Passaic. For the past few years, whenever we start prepping for our school's musical, I always need to order the panels for our background scenes. The Pink Panther boards have been a great use for these purposes. From background to prop uses, it fulfills our needs for multiple uses. Getting the house ready for the holidays. Needed to find a Home Depot that is open on Sunday's. Bergen County, Home Depot's are closed on Sunday. Found a Home Depot in Passaic, NJ. For the life of me, I do not know why this great store has a 2 star rating. My review honest review hopefully will hopefully help change the narrative that has been very consistent, 5 star and above level of service. All of the store personnel are very friendly, any questions you have, they are more than willing to help. Needed last minute items from the paint department. Every time I have questions or help with painting, spackling, etc, Daniel L., in the paint department has been absolutely amazing. I give Daniel L 10 Stars, in the Paint Department. Always available, and goes out of his way to assist all customers that need assistance. Every Home Depot employee that I have asked where certain things are, have always been super fantastic. Needed assistance that did not pertain to Returns. Special thank you to "Nilsa", another outstanding employee that went out of her way to go the extra mile. It's people like this that keeps me coming back. Love this store better than the Lodi store. read more

I do not recommend this Home Depot , neither do other Home Depot's in the area. I was first being assisted with a regular cashier at the Paterson location , then a manager "Daniel " came over and started us helping resolve the return issue even further. Daniel provided us with peace of mind that the situation was small and could be handled. CARMEN walked over and tried to include herself in the issue that was already being resolved and handled. CARMEN says (infront of me) "they are stupid" she said to another coworker. As a bilingual American citizen I felt very disrespected. CARMEN PROCEEDED to say "well you walked out with it" referring to the ac we had just come to return that was purchased this morning CARMEN takes the receipts from Daniel and changes everything we were doing. After about an hour CARMEN tells us to return to the Paterson location and talk to her "friend" Pablo and he'd resolve the issue . (Issue was being handled at the Passaic location before CARMEN approached). I agreed to return to the Paterson location to get my full refund in my card like CARMEN had said I could only if I returned to the original store . I leave and arrive at the Paterson store and was assisted by their manager which let us know that CARMEN returned our order and put over four hundred dollars on a store credit AFTER we left the Store AFTER she told me to go to the Paterson store . CARMEN is very disrespectful does not care to say or do what she feels infront of customers, verbally and physically disrespectful. it was agreed by everyone (workers at both locations ) that CARMEN was the issue and she should of never inserted herself into the situation, then we wouldn't of spent the whole day at Home Depot . CARMEN has lack of morals for herself and respect for others. (She lied about everything to get us out the store basically ) . I deliver to Home Depot all the time just not this one yet but I found myself in a jam and needed to park my semi in the parking lot for the night, mind you there was plenty of parking spaces. So I did the right thing and went in and asked if I could park here for the night, the manager said she couldn't authorize that. I said "ok" and waited around for a bit trying to look for a place I can park for the night but I noticed all these people out here just hanging out. Some looking for work others looking for drugs. The placed looked like a street corner in the hood. They even put porta pottys in this parking lot for these people and even a portable hand washing thing. My point here is I'm here making an honest living working hard and away from my family for days at a time and they won't even let me sleep in my tractor trailer on their parking lot for one night but they'll let all these people out here hanging out all day not doing nothing and some even drinking beer. Horrible customer service. The employees are standing around joking and laughing meanwhile I had to go into the store for a curbside because they neglected to respond. Another employee walking up to customer service ended helping me and found the order just sitting there. Then none of them wanted to work to put it in my car. And were absolutely rude because I troubled them to do their job. Don't bother coming to this HD, it's not worth it. Employees are useless. What's the point of curbside when you have to go inside??? I bought a generator at Home Depot today the store manager Frank walk me up to the Register. When I asked the head Indian lady cashier for help to put the generator into my van 3 times do to it being to heavy I was made to wait in the parking lot for a half hour and nobody came. I had to ask one of the customers to put my generator into my van. The last 4 times I was at this store I asked somebody different to get me a Excord of the top self and they walked away and never came back with a fork left. The lazy people work at this store. When I get feed up I just place my order on line and let them bring the cords to my house for me. read more

I wish I could give this Home Depot 10 stars. My husband & I visited the Clifton, NJ location a few times before stopping by the Passaic,NJ location & I wish we would've came here from the start. The service was exceptional from beginning to literally the end. Starting with Yusef (I hope I'm spelling his name right) who assisted us in the Lumber dept although it wasn't his dept. he was so patient & assisted us with every question without hesitation. We then stopped by the paint section & although we did t get the associates name, he was so nice & directed us to exactly what we needed. Finally, at check out, Josh was such a joyous associate who greeted us & assisted us with the most beautiful vibe. Literally the BEST customer experienced I have ever experienced. There is nothing special about this Home Depot. I actually find that this Home Depot in particular has more choices for building supplies then anything else. I assume the area that it is in they build more this game then buy them hahahaha. They ALWAYS have a bunch of Spanish dudes hanging out in the parking lots asking if you need help. So if you need some cheap labor I guess you can pull a 2 for 1 at this location. It is in Passaic So the sales tax is a little cheaper. This is the main reason I go to this location over another on. If I have a big project and need a lot of equipment I will go here to save a few bucks. The guys who work in the isles and doing stock are usually nice people but the cashiers are always a hit or miss. The parking lot is very hazardous so be careful when parking because people tend to just leave the carts all around. All it will take is a nice wind to send one of those heavy carts flying into your car and costing you a lot more then you wanted to spend. read more

I ordered through curbside pick up and my experience was terrible and unsafe. After waiting too long in my car I decided I go into customer service - the other place designated for pick up. The line was long because it is the same as for returns. Minimal social distancing especially by the store workers. Worse, many workers were wearing their masks below their nose or mouth including the one who helped me. And the merchandise was not ready- I had to wait for someone to go into the store to get it. I had a good experience when ordering paint to have picked up at another store by my contractor. First off Cashelle in the paint department was great. It was busy but she was the picture of cool calm and professional. She gave me solid advice, looked up my products and gave me the details needed to place my order with customer service. That lady knows her stuff and she is hands down the paint go to person. Thanks Cashelle. Second Shakera in customer service also gave me great service even through she encountered a few rude people at the other store she had to call to confirm they had my items. She kept her cool and even gave me an apology for the delay. It took a while that day but my contractor got the order without any issues because these ladies did there job well. I actually prefer going to this Depot. During the week, the store is usually not crowded. I find it to be a good choice, instead of the busier Rt 17 Depots, plus there's 3.5% sales tax in Passaic. Quite a few day laborers hang around the lot looking for work, but I've never encountered any problems here. read more

I recently wrote a good review for this Home Depot. I should have known better. I spoke too soon. When my washers & dryer were delivered I found out that they would not install it after I figured out what the delivery guy was saying. He had a very thick accent and he got very angry at me because I couldn't understand the word install. That's my fault? So they left it in my hallway. Problem was the salesman who wrote up the order never told me there was an extra charge for installation. Slight overlook. So I have to wait another week for installation. Me and my friend frequent this home depot a lot. The other night I witness a supervisor by the name of Jordan literally yelling at an associate in front of me and several other customers. This isn't the first time I've witness his bad behavior on the floor . Yesterday a cashier asked him for change and told her that he will give the change to her when he feels like it. And this young man actually stood by her register and made her wait. What I found even more disturbing is that this poor cashier had to apologize for her supervisor's behavior. My friend has told me that Mr. Jordan has yelled and embarrassed this same cashier last week in front of customers. Home Depot I'm surprised that you would hire someone like this. He has no interpersonal skills, his manners towards the other associates are horrific, he has no respect. My suggestion that he gets re-trained and made to understand that his co-workers are not animals in a zoo that he can just throw insults at or flat out have no respect for their feelings. His a awful supervisor and needs to be discipline for his action. On a good note, the cashier that worked that night Mr. Jordan decided to act like a jerk, is a sweetheart. I don't know her name, but she's the little dark skin girl with the blonde and black dreads or braids. She's always pleasant and helpful. Had a horrible experience at this home depot. Not only is the assistant manager rude but the general manager doesn't even care about you or your problems. I tried to return an item which had the wrong contents, and they were just not having it. I would recommend going to Lowe's right down 21, theres also a micro center and pep boys on the same lot so multiple birds one stone. read more

This home depot is the most local one to me. I literally get here in 1 minute from my house. But this place is horrible. People say they are going to help you then never reappear. I spent 45 minutes waiting for someone to drop down some wood from the top shelf because the size i needed was empty. I spoke to four different people and asked for the same thing. I just had a horrible experience with the rental department. I rented a power washer before the 4th. I stupidly just asked if there was gas in the machine and he said "yes." My fault for not double checking, it was empty. One wheel was about to fall off so it was hard to maneuver. The line that was supposed to bring soap into the mixture didn't work. The sprayer shut off after two minutes and took two minutes to reboot so I could spray again. Worst part was the starter would lock up. I called and the man who answered was extremely dismissive and said just to bring it back in - not an easy thing to do with that large of a machine. When I got there the other guy knew exactly what was wrong with the starter seizing and could have fixed it over the phone. I'm not sure the one guy was just lazy or sexist. My project could have been done before my party on the 4th - but it wasn't and I wasted tons of time and money. read more
