I just visited Home Depot today to look for fruit trees. I have zero experience with gardening and Andres at this store was the most helpful & knowledgeable employee I have encountered in a very long time. He helped me pick out 3 trees (lemon,orange & grapefruit) and gave me great tips on how to plant them. He also advised me on products that will help me grow healthy trees. This has to be the crappiest Home Depot I've ever been in. There is no help available, ever. No registers open most of the time, just the self check out. No one around in the departments to ask for help & when you luck out and find someone, they seem to be clueless. The employees seem to make a game out of avoiding customers. This Home Depot store leaves you with a real negative view of the Home Depot company & it all comes from the poor attitudes of the staff employed there. With Sun City Hardware & Lowes in town & both with very helpful employees, Home Depot is my last choice. read more

Went in to buy a new miter saw, took it home only to find they boxed a used one and sold it to me.

Wanted to buy some paint for my bathroom. Went to paint department and the guy said it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. Told him I would pick up some other things and return shortly. Came back in 10 minutes or so and stood at the pick up paint counter. The guy who took my order was no where in sight but that didn't concern me. Tried to catch the eye of one of the ladies in the department but they totally ignored me. Firgured they were busy. Finally after seeing several customers come in, place and pick up their orders I had had enough. Where is my order? I asked loud enough to attract their attention. Blank looks all around. What did you order? One finally asked? This was now beyond 1/2 an hour after I placed the order. My chips were discovered sitting on their counter and one of the girls stated that they could have my order ready in ten or twenty minutes. They were kind of busy right now. No apologies were offered and I actually felt they were annoyed with me for daring to complain. Tried to complain at the customer service but after another 5 minutes of being ignored I dumped my other unpaid for items on their counter and walked out. read more

I have never been so disappointed In Home Depot. We went in to buy carpet for our travel trailer and sat for 35 min in the department waiting for help. All three of the employees helped one customer and never said a word. We asked for help 4 times in that 35 min with no response.We Finally got the manager foinvolved, yay we were going to get help!!! Horrible place - Forget help, you are on your own here. No thermometers of any kind. Nobody working checkout. "Check your own self out" - The ONE thing you have to do with retail - is make the process of parting people from their payment easy and painless. This store makes it into some sort of ordeal ritual to pay them. I saw a guy with bags of gravel trying to scan in self checkout and a bag ripped and the people were like "not my problem") So no service and ordeal leaving. This store is a joke. read more

In my opinion Home Depot is pathetic. The corporate office must be run by money hungry morons. Every store including the Perris store is painfully understaffed. The workers are overworked and stressed out to the max. You can see it in their faces. It's not the employees fault that customer service is so bad. I just wanted to order window blinds. There was one man in that department. It wasn't even his department. He had three customers waiting. I finally had to hunt through the store to find help. I found the store manager and he was nice enough to help me. But of course after spending about a half hour at the computer it was discovered that they couldn't order them in the size I needed. I left the store frustrated and angry. Went right to Lowe's. Walked in found help right away and ordered the same blinds. Fast easy and for a lot less money than Home Depot. read more

We have been attempting to buy a refrigerator for the past hour and apparently nobody knows how to help us. Each person (4-5 people) we spoke to said they would bring someone back to help us make the purchase....didn't happen. When someone finally sat down to help us they couldn't figure out how to bring up the item so that we could order it, then said perhaps the store didn't deliver to our location....approximately 10 minutes away. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting and seeing the person "helping" us continually look around for someone who knew what to do we left.....without a fridge. read more

I use the paint department several times each month and receive first class service from the staff, great matching of colors and helpful professional advice. The tall bi-lingual gentleman in the paint department is always very helpful to us. I have always found the staff extremely willing and able to assist. Compared to other Home Depots this one has poor customer service. Its difficult to find some one to help in various departments. And they never have answers for my questions. In general, employees do not seem as knowledgeable as at other Home Depots. Its worth a drive to the Murrieta Home Depot. read more

It just made a simple tripping to home Depot hoping to get a few items for my home renovations. I passed approximately 8 associates not one of them made eye contact with me when I asked if somebody could help me with grouts I was giving a shoulder shrug. I proceeded to the check out area where I was told you need to get in line I looked around and there were no other customer is waiting to check out. Are they stood in the same spot a cashier said fine I'll check you out here no other words were exchanged during my transaction. The cashier began to speak to another colleague and roll their eyes as they discussed a topic but they both seem to be unhappy about. ask to speak with the manager and was pointed to a lady ten feet away I approached her to tell her about my experience and that my business is going to Lowe's moving forward. She said oh okay I'll take care of that and showed little interest in the fact that I had just had a poor experience which will result in me never shopping at home Depot again. good luck customers I hope that you have a better experience than I did as it is very evident that these employees do not care about helping others find what they need, let alone taking the time to exchange smiles or a friendly conversation. read more

Went in to pick up some material for making shelves. I went up to a Home Depot employee and asked if they would cut some boards for me. They said sure and would get someone to help. I ended up standing at the saw with my 2 year old son for about 10 minutes. Went up to ask another employee and they ignored me and walked away avoiding eye contact. I was in on the weekend for a family related project but based on the lack of service at this location I will not return here for my general contracting needs. I love the service here. My husband and I like to shop at Home Depot because they carry what we need, but I like to come back at this store just because we met helpful people here. One time while my husband and I were looking at floor tile, a gentlemen came over and see if we need help. He was so knowledgeable and didn't mind to give us advices how to get our floor done right. Another time, we met him again. He still remember us and again helped us with what we need. We feel so thankful and hope that Home Depot will continue to have people like him...knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and willing to help. read more

It's a Home Depot - you know what to expect in regards to their stock. However, their checkout at this store is the worst of any HD I have ever been in. No human cashiers at times - and chaos in the self check lines as a result. Listen carefully - those 4 people untangling all the angry people at "self-checkout" might be better used as cashiers and avoid the drama and anger in the first place. How would you EVER think that you can run this place as a "self service" only joint. The guy with the 10 foot flashing with no SKU who was angry at the "self service" people was not enjoying the process and those behind him - like me - could only consider leaving our stuff and going to Lowes. Could not be more disappointing. My parents are in their 40's, they are the most loving, giving, selfless people on this plant. They have worked hard for everything they have in life and its always been for their kids. That all to say, they have recently decided to remodel the house now that we are all older, starting with the kitchen. We decided to go through our local home depot, figuring-big name, it'll get done right, WRONG. You should of seen my moms face light up walking through home depot, getting to pick exactly what she wanted for her new kitchen. Its been 5 months and our kitchen is still not intact. 5 dreadful months of having to go back and fourth arguing with these people to come and install what we paid for, in-full, MONTHS AGO. We were originally advised of a couple weeks (2-3) of waiting for parts plus installation, which was understandable since it was custom cabinets. They have literally sucked the fun out of this process for my parents, they dread the calls,and the appointments. We've literally been washing dishes in the bathroom, which god only knows when that will cause a problem. The customer service is by far the poorest we have ever received in any establishment. I have overheard conversations with the store manager getting sassy with my dad on the phone. Completely not okay, we are the consumer, you are the HEAD of your store, have respect and compassion for mistakes YOUR EMPLOYEES have made. I wouldn't recommend this store to my worst enemy. Needless to say, we will take our future business elsewhere and i recommend the same. read more

I went in to return an item I received that was still in the box and clearly marked with Home Depot DCF warehouse in Perris, Calif. I was told by the supervisor that I could not return the item because they did not carry that specific item in store (It was a Dewalt product). The store called Homedepot online customer service, at my bequest, whom also told me that without an order # or the persons name and phone number that gave it to me that they had no way to trace the order and could not even give me in store credit. Remember this was new unopened in original sealed box with their warehouse sticker attached. I have to say I have never had such a bad experience with Home Depot before. I understand that they can't just take anything back from anyone, but it was marked with all their information!! Be leery of purchasing products online that may not be available for purchase in your local store. read more

Not many people to help you if you need to look for something in the store, but otherwise they usually have everything you need. Registers are not too long and self pay makes the process easier. read more

Sadly we just left our neighborhood Home Depot. I work for a small school that is trying to update our playground with the assistance of our 501c. After speaking with Ariel the manager to see if we could get some kind of discount he informed us that we would have to wait for the another manager to arrive which would be in 10 minutes. He told us he would bring the manager to us when he arrived. We waited 30 minutes in the lumbar department where we told him we would be. After going back up to the customer service desk the lady informed us that she thought Ariel had gone home. So, she went upstairs to see the manager up there and she came back and let us know that there wasn't anything they could do. That wouldn't have been a problem except that made us wait all that time. A quick call to Lowes revealed they will offer 5% discount. So, looks like I will be going to them from now on. I know it's only 5% but we are spending over $2000 so every little bit helps. read more
