My boyfriend and I were at this Home Depot this weekend. It's, huge, well stocked and the entire staff there is kind, respectful and welcoming. I'm not going to lie, I don't usually go to hardware stores on my own but I love coming here. Give that man that man a RAISE!!! I closed on a newly-built home last week. So, I'm in the midst of LOTS of projects. And, my construction person is coming tomorrow and I needed to provide some things. So, I ordered tarp ins 6AM and was prepared to walk into the store and pick them up.... There was just one problem with that plan ... My items were pretty big. So, I realized Home Depot allows you to change your pick up option to curbside service! So, I quickly signed up on the app and changed my pick up preference..... I0 minutes later, no one came out to my car with my merchandise and I had to go to the bathroom. So, I went inside and asked customer service what the deal was. A young lady, who looked overwhelmed, explained that this store's curbside service never notifies them that someone is outside and that I had to stand in line and take it out myself..... That was NO WHERE near the answer I wanted to hear. Thankfully, another worker came by, asked me how he could help and offered his services. I asked him his name (Cam) and I complimented him on his customer service skills. I explained that I was going to the bathroom and would be right back. Cam was outside, helping someone else and assured me he would help me right afterwards. And, he did, with class, professionalism and a level of customer service that is practically non existent these days! I shook his hand and gave him a $20 tip - not for just helping me, but for still having the motivation to want to help me, under a store full of people and no where near enough workers to meet the need. It is abundantly clear that the few workers in the store are overworked and losing motivation. And that pains me so much. Folks..., life is SO rough right now. So many people are inconsiderate and hurting each other. Being kind and offering each other hope is at an all time low. We have got to do a better job of keeping each other lifted up. So if you have time to go into the store and motivate someone, do that. If you have time to go into the store and recognize someone who has gone above and beyond, do that. Or, if you have spare change to tip someone, DO THAT! Pay it forward! It may make the difference in just how many workers are there the next time you go there and need assistance! Thank you, Cam. Almost every time I have gone to this store I have been disappointed - with customer service or product. But i thought with curbside pickup, how can it go wrong? Most recently, I ordered a curbside pickup. I had received emails and texts that my orders were ready. I checked in with the app, as suggested by the emails. I sat in the parking lot waiting for over 10 minutes. I went into the store and told the customer service associate how long I had been waiting outside and she said, "Oh, I didn't hear a ding. We must not have logged in yet." Not , sorry for the wait. This was at 10am - so the store had been opened for 4 or so hours and no one had a curbside pickup?? That seems a little far-fetched. Service was terrible! I needed assistance getting a heavy vase down from the shelf. I asked the cashier and he wanted to know the aisle #. I told him It's the first aisle where all the outdoor pottery are located. He wasn't helpful at all and kept demanding to know the specific aisle #. He told me he would page one of the lot attendants to assist. I waited for awhile and no one showed up. I flagged down one of the fork lift drivers to assist. He was kind enough to stop what he was doing to assist me despite the older gentleman telling me to wait since they were busy moving a pallet of bricks. The fork lift driver knew that their project would take awhile so he offered to stop and helped me. I don't know his name as he wasn't wearing an apron or had on a name tag. I'm grateful that he was the ONLY ONE willing to assist. All the other employees just turn their back and pretended to be busy. read more

Was very impressed with the help I received from Victor in Plumbing! I'm new to the area and am having issues with my irrigation system. Victor spent close to an hour with me, discussing options for connecting my 1/2" soaker hose to my 3/4" garden hose. This was harder than it sounds due to the different sizes of the hoses involved. We had to explore fittings on two different aisles - 14 and 53! He was very patient and very invested in making sure I got it right. This store will be my primary home improvement store. read more

I was in Home Depot today and was in the garden section outside and in the electrical isle inside. I notice a large black and white border collie in the garden section and a small breed of dog inside the store. As I exited the electrical aisle onto the main aisle I almost stepped in the largest pile of feces I have ever seen. Four piles of feces that smelled terrible. I ran away towards the garden section to get away from it and the border collie in the garden section was peeing all over the merchandise and price tag signs. I immediately left the store and called for the manager on my phone. They disconnected me. I called back and the manager said the owner of the Great Dane denied his dog pooped in the store. He absolutely did not care about the other dog peeing in the garden section all over merchandise and will continue to let any dogs in the store. He will not put up a sign that says clean up after your pets if you bring them in the store. The manager on the day of February 7 th, 2026 around 2 pm does not care at all about animals defecating and urinating all over the store. I will not be shopping there again. Negative 1 read more

I had a pretty big job. I needed to assist my brother with his moving. He had a ton of cardboard boxes In his storage and he needed me to place this in the large plastic totes to protect his belongings from water damage. Initially, I felt anxious about having to grab the boxes on my own and transport into my car. Luckily I had assistance from their assigned loaders. I had to make several trips and they were all very kind. I had to make four trips back and forth from Home Depot to my brothers storage unit. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. The bathroom was cleaner than expected and everything seemed organize at this location. Only issue I had was getting through to someone on the phone because I needed to see they recycled cardboard here. Talked to three employees trying to find an item that was in stock. First employee couldn't help but brought me to a hardware employee who was supposed to help. He didn't look up the tool. Told me it wasn't in stock and wouldn't be in stock. He told another employee that they didn't have it at all but said he could help. Both were very rude and not helpful. They said the over$200 tool would be in the open by the hoodie I found and not locked up so it should be easy to find. I buy enough Milwaukee tools I know they're all locked up so having someone whose job is to help you refuse to help and lie to my face isn't okay. I Ordered the tool online from the same store and was able to pick it up 2hrs later. I know if I was Home Depot I wouldn't want employees like that working for me. Maybe most of the employees should be fired since online seems so much better, easier, and convenient. Home Depot employees have let automation take over for them. Need some filters and like the ones HD carries. Decided to go down the plumbing aisle to check out toilets as was having issues with current one running till you jiggled the handle. HD has a nice selection of reasonably priced toilets in assorted heights. I seen a HD employee who was very helpful in getting a flat cart & loading the heavy box on it for me. At the checkout (self service) the young woman there had already called for someone to help me out to my car & load it for me before I could even ask for help. The young man who loaded my car was also very nice. This is really great service. Really like this HD because of the helpful and friendly staff. read more

I'm so disappointed with Home Depot, I'm currently remodeling my kitchen and ordered paint, I was mistakenly given the wrong can paint off the counter , and didn't realize until a few days later when the painters opened up the can, My daughter in law graciously agreed to go on my behalf.. if I only knew the treatment she was going to receive I would have gone myself. The associate at in the paint department, did not want to switch out the paint, treated her like she was trying to steal! (keep in mind I gave her the receipt) My daughter in law asked to speak to the manager and was told no, and if she wanted to talk to the manger to go up to front desk/service. My daughter in law asked again to call the manger.. and asked if she had trouble walking! as a matter of fact she does! she is a disabled veteran! she finally made her way to the front desk to just be berated even more! They ended up giving her the correct can of paint (after she was just about in tears! ) shame on you, I understand there is a shortage of workers, but to hire people who can't even treat a person with human decency.. They could not find the order. They ask me to come back. So four days later I call to see if they find my order yet and I had two separate employees hang up on me!!! I purchased a Nexgrill 5 burner propane gas grill August 27th. I waited a week or so to connect it and had difficulty. I visited your store close to two weeks later, (last week) and asked for someone who knew something about this product. I explained my problem to Michael, Mgr. of the Garden Shop, and Glenn who were paged and came to my 'rescue'. These two gentlemen couldn't have been nicer in offering their help. It was suggested it might be my new and recently exchanged propane tank. I returned home and brought my propane tank for Glenn to check. He didn't smell much gas after he opened the full tank, and suggested I try a new one. I did and everything worked beautifully. I've spent over 50 years in retail including being the GM of San Francisco's largest Department Store for four years. What an experience! I went in today to pick up a propane tank for our new outdoor patio heater. So, I find the one I'm looking for and take it up to the checkout with the intention of price-matching the identical item at Lowe's. I let the cashier know my intentions and she calls over an older gentleman named Mike, apparently the afternoon / evening manager. He proceeds to tell us that they "don't price match Lowe's, they're not our competitor, but we will as a courtesy to our customers." Huh? You don't price match Lowe's and you say they're not your competitor? Well, your price match policy online says, "We will match and BEAT any retailer on an identical in stock advertised item." ANY RETAILER! So, he price matches the propane tank (all of $4.50 difference in price) and I ask him about the 10% beyond the price match. "He says we don't do that here." Well, I check out and get my things back to the truck, then proceed to go back into customer service to find out more about the match and beat sign I saw in-store. None of them seemed to have a clear understanding on it either so they call over the manager - here comes Mike. I explain it to him and show him the sign and he proceeds to tell me that they don't do that, even though there's a HUGE sign on the end cap of an aisle, and that he was going to have the sign taken down. Mind you, this is still their price match policy they share online - to meet and beat any retailer's advertised price on an equivalent item. So, I tell him, "Come over here - let's take a picture in front of the sign for social media so they know who won't honor their advertised price match policy." Clearly he didn't want to take a picture - he then proceeded to grumble and tell his staff to, "Just do it, have a nice day." The staff was surprised - we're over here grinding over $3 dollars and an advertised price match policy, and this manager says he won't honor it. I knew the moment this guy said that "Lowe's isn't our competitor..." that he wasn't the right guy to make this decision. All in all, it became a matter of principle, not the $3. I'd recommend avoiding this place unless you absolutely have to come. The Arden one is a little bit "rough around the edges" in a lot of ways but they'll be the one I go to, if I don't end up at Lowe's first. To the HD online mark team, someone needs to correct this manager and get him in line with corporate policy. I really don't like writing negative reviews and simply don't have the time to do so but to help other possible customers who might have to go through what I just went through today I felt strongly to write this and here we go: I rented a Penske truck for a day which happens to be rented by The Home Depot in Rancho Cordova. As I was returning it this morning and the person behind the counter because of issues with their computer had me waiting about 30minutes or so to try to print me out a receipt which btw I never ended up getting and ended up receiving through email at a later time which I can understand the technical problems and that was not the issue here. I simply asked few common questions about my bill and the answer from Nicole who I believe was the lady behind the counter indicating that they are just a middle man for Penske and they have no idea about anything and suggesting that I ask Penske. This is before I even finish asking my question so basically just shutting me up! Aside from wrong informations on the bill and the fact that I was overcharged by Penske / Home Depot my genuine surprise on the poor customer service that I received was the fact that I was constantly getting shut up by this highly unprofessional manors and aggressive behavior by the Nicole the employee who had no reason to mix emotions answering my questions in regards to my simple constructive common questions that I had as a customer. Myself as a business owner and running a business as well with employees so forth... it's really been a while since I have encountered such highly unprofessional experience that I have encountered today at Home Depot in Rancho Cordova. I normally had fair service at Home Depot and actually I was fine with it and didn't expect any good customer service and was just fine with what it was but with this highly unpleasant experience that I received today I have sincerely decided to never again part take or involve myself with this organization. No negative feelings here... just seems like I stepped on dog shit and just need to clean my shoes and walk on! Home Depot and its employees will blame their "inadequate point of sale system" (or P.O.S. and yes the irony of that acronym is not lost on this customer as I write this review) for their own failures to its customers. Home Depot and its employees will blame you for doing something that the Home Depot posted pricing signage says you can do and are able to do. Home Depot and its employees do not accept any fault. I would give Home Depot zero-stars if Yelp! had that as a part of the rating options... alas, I must rate Home Depot and its employees with at least an overly generous 1-star. Ladies and Gentlemen, your monies are much better spent on local-businesses which will do right by their customers and local-businesses who will listen to their customers. Your monies are much better valued on local-businesses who will reinvest their net profits back directly into the local communities they conduct their business in... because they are headquartered in your neighborhood. They do not ship their net profits back to corporate headquarters or regional offices in another location out-of-state. These other businesses I speak of are all around you, they are easy to find - just use Google Maps, Apple Maps, Yelp, etc to locate them. They are your neighborhood stores. They employ local people as employees, just so you know that Home Depot does not have a "lock" and are the only business who employs local people. Even if any of these other local-businesses get a dismal 2-stars from me... they have bested the corporate giant Home Depot and its sad-for-an-excuse "customer service" and poorly trained employees by at least 200% or x2. Yup, that is how math works. When Home Depot and its employees do not try, even on the worst days by their local competitors' will still have at least 200% or x2 better than Home Depot. These local-businesses do not have the same name recognition as Home Depot because they do not sponsor grandiose functions, events, tournaments, sporting centers, and nationwide commercials with touchy-feely-I care about you-work hard ethic-sentiment. These local-businesses spend their monies on properly training their employees on real customer service and properly equipped them to do their job. Now, as the customer looking to purchase an item or two for your next household project... I close with this... what do you want to pay for: a stadium/event that you will most likely never use (or step in) or a well-trained local employee with proper system support at the cash register?
