Meh- it's a larger home improvement store. It beats the Lowe's down the way. The service here is pretty non-existent. Need lumber cut? Good luck- it'd be faster to chew on it like a beaver. They've instituted anti-theft measures here all over- there's a turn style to get in and out of here now. Annoying. The parking lot is gigantic here- I doubt it'll ever be full. See that thing that they've parked out in the parking lot with the sirens, video cameras, and solar panels? That's a license plate reader. Who knows what they're doing with that info? The tools are all on lockdown here, so no getting to fiddle with them to see if they'll work, or to test durability. I wish this store was configured like the other ones. Blinds. What a nightmare to had to go through. We had to wait 2 weeks for their guy to come to our house for measurements and after we ordered EVERYTHING with the right quote they had to take extra 2 weeks to get those blinds deliver but guess what! They got all our blinds not only with wrong measurements but wrong product. This place is a mess. I went to return items with a receipt for some items not all were listed on my receipt. The clerk Garret was helping me and told me he could not return the items even the ones that were on the receipt. I provided my ID and he still would not return the items to the card which I did not have with me. He then walked away refusing to help me. I was in awe at this young man unprofessionalism. I then ask to speak to a manager and he was no better. I asked him to please explain the return policy and he proceeded to tell me that he was not going to do that. I then asked to file a complaint and he gave me a number to call. I was ok with store credit as I was going to buy other things. I just can't believe the young man Garrets attitude. I never really like to give a bad rating to a place, I try my damndest to find a ray of hope in any situation. However, I could not find anything redeeming about this particular location at all! First rule of thumb as a business to customer relationship, acknowledge we are there. Period. Fake a "hello". Or a smile. Pretend we are there, even if you dislike us. The employees there seemed like they had been to a 24-kegger party the night before and were nursing hangovers. Second rule of thumb, if we look like we are wandering around your store aimlessly ask us if you can assist us. Sure, you will look like you know more than us, but isn't that the whole point? All the employees acted like they didn't want to be bothered, but we found what we were looking for anyway, by accident. Third rule of thumb and the most important, give us good service and we will reward you as a return customer. The clerk this day seemed totally aloof and incompetent. Plus there were no other registers open to accomodate the increasingly swarming line, compliments of the clerk who turned our purchase turning into a bad episode of The Three Stooges. I know this sounds real tiffy, a complaint without any provocation, but I say this only because you get way better service at The Home Depot by Walzem and the other by Jones-Maltsberger. But with experiences like this this location really puts the word "in" in front of "convenience stores." read more

I love this Home Depot! It's close to work so I can nip in whenever I need anything. And it has everything! I spend a lot of time in the garden center since I'm obsessed with gardening. I like that I can buy seasonal plants for very, very cheap. I've had very good luck buying things like ixora and mums for next to nothing. Since they are so cheap, I often cut them for bouquets. It's often cheaper than buying precut bouquets at grocery stores. They also have everything I need with regard to pesticides, pots and tools. What I absolutely love is the live Christmas tree offerings. I got my first live tree here so it's very special to me. They offer a bunch of different heights and varieties. They will trim the tree and bag it for you as well. The trees are generally very fresh and last a very long time. My Fraser fir lasted 5 weeks! The employees are also really kind. They have given me a lot of advice on gardening. And even suggested other places to buy plants that they don't have in stock. I have never had a bad experience here and I am a frequent shopper. read more

Home Depot on 1604 and Culebra has been his go to store. He would always say he goes there cause they always had what he needed. If there was a zero stars rating, I may have done that, because saying it is not good is the understatement of the century. Home Depot is fine until something goes wrong. Recently, I purchased a stackable washer dryer from home depot and paid for delivery plus install. On the day of delivery, the boxes were placed in my dining room, but we were told that they couldn't do the install that day and that they would have to reschedule that. I was disappointed, but oh well. Then I get a text telling me when the install will be. Not asking, but telling. This is annoying when I am working as a scientist and my fiance is studying for the bar, but again... oh well. I make sure I am home for it, when we realize that the delivery tracking link has been updated to say "unable to attempt delivery". I called home depot and they called the third party that they contract delivery and installation to, that group tells them that they called and spoke to someone and were told to reschedule. This is clearly an outright lie. After going back and forth and having to ask to speak to the supervisor of the person that was "helping" me, it is established that it will not be installed that day. So I say (paraphrasing) "OK. well if the group you've contract with is willing to outright lie about conversations with me, I don't want them in my house anyway. Now I just want someone to come pick up the washer-dryer as I would like to return it." Then they try to tell me that since it is a large appliance, sales are final and I already accepted delivery. How can I have accepted delivery when it still wasn't installed?!?! Finally, they seem to accept that saying it can't be returned isn't a response that will be taken by me, so then they explain that they are homedepot.com and homedepot.com can't accept returns of appliances and that has to be done by the store. So they put me on hold to talk to the store. They come back on and say that no one at the store can take care of this and there won't be until tomorrow. So I ask to be connected to the store. The customer service agent refuses to connect me to the store. And loses his temper with me and yelling "Are you calling me a LIAR?! Because I don't like that!" That's when I ask to be connected to his supervisor. And he continues to be combative. Finally, I am connected to his supervisor who was at least calm, but still couldn't resolve my issue. I was told that the person at the store that could address the issue will call me first thing today. We will see if that happens. Yesterday, I spent 2h45min on the phone with them. I am appalled with the level of service that I have received. I am appalled that home depot uses contractors that would not show up and then lie and say they spoke to us. I am appalled that home depot has no one working on a Tuesday afternoon that can solve the problem. In short, if it was only a bad experience with their subcontractor or with a single customer service agent, I would've been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. But there seem to be systemic issues that prevent them from being able to provide adequate customer support. That is why I give home depot 1 star (wish I could give less). I strongly discourage anyone from making purchases from Home Depot that require service. read more

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from this location. It was delivered 11/2 and the compressor went out 11/9. Home Depot refuses to help me because I didn't purchase their extended warranty. They told me I couldn't return the product since it was passed the 48 hours. The manager "Lajoyce" was very rude and not helpful. She promised me a call back but had her employee call me. So I bought a plunger, the most expensive one with anti everything technology. As it was in a box, I couldn't even feel it or dry test it. So I got it as it must be good, went home unboxed it dry test it and it's just a piece of ****. So lets go back and return it, as I never used it and such. Guess what, you can't return an unused plunger at this store. So after talking to 3 or 4 different people explaining that I didn't use it and this it's worth worth the money I came to a point where I had to asked for the manager of the store. What did this employee think? That I will just walk away with something that cost 5 times more than the rest and that can be used for nothing but modern art? After I asked for the manager and made sure the women knew I will not back off she called someone and let me return this item. So for right now you guys need to do better than that to impress me. I stopped by here on a Saturday to rent a carpet cleaner and I waited in line for about 20 minutes when there was only two people ahead of me (were already being helped) The lady working behind the customer service counter was very sweet and was working as fast as she possibly could which made me feel for her given that the rest of the people waiting behind me were beginning to get impatient. I would advise Home Depot to add more customer service workers to their team as the efficiency of this place is lacking. There's nothing wrong with the current employees except for one older lady that was letting the phone ring when I came back to the location to return the carpet cleaner. I made a joke about the phone ringing and she told me that she doesn't answer the phones because if people want to ask a question or see something, that they will make the best of their efforts to go to the store and physically ask or see whatever it is they need. I don't know how many other employees or workers share this philosophy but it doesn't make sense. These attitudes aren't going to help any establishment. As a first time home buyers my wife and I really wanted to get the best deal on wood laminate for our new house. We did plenty of shopping around and almost decided to go with, I'll call them LL. Until they told us they were going to charge us over $100 just to transfer the flooring from Houston to San Antonio. Finally we ended up at Home Depot and were ready to settle. Then Garret came along. He was amazingly helpful! He helped us get a better product at a lower price, than LL. He didn't try to up sell us but gave us his professional opinion as a contractor. The thing is we ended up spending a little more but are ok with it because we got exactly what we wanted.
