I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars at Home Depot since 2019 and I had such a bad experience today I'd find it hard for me to go back there for any of my business purchases or home improvement needs moving forward. I watched a middle-aged woman beg for help for loading soil in the garden area to what was obviously an employee who was getting carts, and he rolled his eyes and hesitantly said he would help her,,,, You know it would really be nice to get some more help when you go to Home Depot, I recently went there to get a mini chainsaw, I know they exist. My sister has one!! I had to request someone to help me (since everything is locked up) then when he finally got there, he basically told me that they didn't exist, and I didn't know what I was talking about --and then when I found one on the shelf, he told me I couldn't touch it like I couldn't hold it to see how heavy it was!!!!! Two trips, First for 54 bags on a pallet after 29 minutes two guys shows up to help loads Second for 20 bags Was told the person who loads the products is at lunch. I asked for someone else's and was told they have bad backs and I would have to wait. Ask for manager. Manager did not come out (Coward) a clerk said manager was looking for someone. If you live in a rural area, DO NOT order from Home Depot. They consider anywhere on your property to be "curbside" and won't do anything to address it. They use a 3rd party delivery service, and apparently, any problem with the delivery is MY problem. I was considering Home Depot for other property improvements, but not any more. Apparently, they are willing to come and get it if I tell them I don't want it anymore, but absolutely REFUSE to move it from it's current location to near my house. This is the first (and last) time I am taking delivery from Home Depot. BTW, Amazon knows how to drive down a driveway, even for large items. This could have been a positive experience, but customer service doesn't seem to be a focus of Home Depot. Clearly, there is no notion of "making it right." Today was a TOTALLY different experience than a month ago. I came to buy quite a bit of tile. I grabbed a cart. Disclaimer I am not a Home Depot solo shopper normally, I definitely have never went and bought a large amount of tile for a remodel, I have a brain injury, I am disabled. I found the tile I needed and put it in the cart. So heavy, so full. Each pack of tile was 35 pounds. I was trying to find shiplap and asked someone. The lady was pretty rude that she said to me and not politely that you do not put that much tile in a cart, it ruins the sides and should not be using a cart. She was not friendly and honestly it was rude. I had a nice young man help me transfer a lot of it to a flat push cart. Home Depot should have signs at the cart selections that educate people on what carts to use and for what. Don't expect people just to know, you don't know their background. I did notice the next day while shopping again at a Home Depot they do have an announcement that plays often that tells you that, but I think a sign by the carts would be 150% more helpful. read more

Having cancer I am unable to lift garage door. Ordered Garage Door opener at Sherwood Home Depot. When picked up order...box was damaged and taped up. I said I want one that's not damaged. Saw such a great deal on a ladder, it was half off and only a few locations had it which included Sherwood. I ordered and did a curbside pick up. The service was great! This Home Depot really lacks employees with knowledge of products. They also lack employees. It is difficult to get REAL help. Now this store has computer problems which means my sliding door blinds could not be ordered for weeks. This problem with computers creates a very slow system. Now I find after 1 1/2 months the order was wrong. Had to send them back. We went to customer service believing we deserved some kind of compensation and were told we had to wait. Home Depot needs to hire an outside source to fix computers and hire and properly train MORE workers. The woman that first helped us with choosing the panels was extremely helpful. Ugh. We are actually share holders but I feel compelled to write this review. The FLOORING DEPARTMENT is the only part of the Depot we are reviewing here. Bridgette or Bernadette - something like that, is the department head or manager of the flooring department. She seemed annoyed that we were bothering her during her shift. All we wanted to do was place the order after the measure. Obviously we wanted to confirm everything first. This was asking way too much. The job apparently wasn't large enough?? (Over 6K). All we received from her was complete and utter attitude. I'm sorry you hate your job but you picked customer service as a field not me. The signs were all there to not lean into this project with the Depot but we did. Fast forward 7 weeks and we are 1 day prior to installation but we hadn't heard a thing. We called the installer (not Home Depot) to get an time for the next days installation. They were happy we called and we set a time for the next morning. Three hours later they called back saying Home Depot told them the carpet was on back order and it would be another 3-4 weeks. Being the diligent home owners that we are we had completely removed and disassembled all of the furniture and electronics from the entire first floor. All for not. So Home Depot drops the ball and doesn't tell us or the installer that the carpet was not available. When we called and talked to ("B") she pointed the finger at the installer. Funny enough the installer told us this would happen. Because it happens all of the time. I'm almost crying laughing at this point. He said she said you said...... come on Depot, own up to your mistake. I completely understand Covid has created product delays. Covid has not created the lack of communication expected between two parties doing business. That is pure laziness and speaks volumes on your integrity and professionalism. We did hire Marion's to install our carpet. They had the product in stock (A BIG PLUS) and we were measured and priced within two days. The carpet will be installed next week. Takeaways: 1.) Home Depot Lifeproof 25 year carpet is a poly blend and is complete trash. Thanks for the heads up Marion's. We asked for the best and this is what HD recommended. 2.) The Flooring department at Sherwood Home Depot is also complete trash. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE. 3.) Marion's matched HD's pricing with a better product and a great education on carpeting in like 30 minutes. Who knew? 4.) We feel much more educated and can now pass this knowledge to friends and family. So in a weird way - thanks Home Depot. Sidebar: we have had windows installed by Home Depot and it was awesome. It's frustrating as a contractor when you schedule an order, are told by two managers that everything is in stock, and if it isn't, they'll pull from another store and deliver the following day..then I get a call the night before, saying not everything's in stock at the store, but they'll deliver from the other store three days later. Only issue is that the subs are coming the next day after the scheduled delivery and late doesn't help. I even had asked the pro desk manager and Frank's assistant if they don't have it, that they'd pull for delivery from another store.. Too bad they're inventory seems always off. .I've never had a delivery go as planned. read more

I like this location for the most part, good selection and well-stocked. I did have a poor customer service experience the other day though. I tried to return a set of power tools that were defective; I was well within the stores 90 day return policy and the belt clip on the impact driver had broken off with minimal use. This didn't affect the operation of the drill but as a tradesman it's crucial to be able to hang the tool from my belt rather having to carry it in my hand all day. The store refused to allow a return because, "You broke it." They told me to take it up with Milwaukee. Fast forward a few days, I was working in Salem and figured I would try to return the drills at their Home Depot location. Sure enough, they allowed me to return the tools for a full refund with no questions asked. That was the great service I had expected to receive at this Sherwood location but had to go elsewhere to find. Sad! read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but let's be honest, most businesses are either a 1 or a 5, depending on the particular day. Today this HD location gets a 1. I was actually hassled for returning a defective hose nozzle I've used maybe twice and purchased just 3 months ago. Problem was, I had no receipt and the Home Depot employee wanted me to be sure this is my last free pass. Wtf!!? I told him to look up my Pro account for proof of purchase if it's an issue. His tone changed when he realized I wasn't trying to "scam" the company and I got away with a shiny new nozzle. Why hassle customers over a $14 crappy hose nozzle?!! Just take care of them so they come back for the big stuff. Please, Home Depot, train your employees to treat customers with respect always. read more

Once you get to the store things are fine and employees are very helpful hence the 3 stars. However, trying to call them is an exercise in patience. After not reaching anyone in the flooring dept my call went to someone who put me on hold for 9 minutes without bothering to check in and let me know what was going on, I think they just forgot about me. This particular store is only partly to blame for my ongoing frustration with some Black Friday deals from last Thanksgiving. I placed an order on 11/29/18 it wasn't delivered until 12/29/18 (Double the original delivery date). Whatever, it was okay. They showed up and installed the fridge, but wouldn't install the dishwasher. They said that the shut-off valve was leaking. They placed it in the garage and said they'd come back and install when I fixed the valve. I was finally able to replace the leaky valve. I called the installer and they came back. They took the bottom plate off of the old dishwasher and then suddenly decided that the new one wouldn't fit. I had checked the specs and had ordered one with the SAME MEASUREMENTS to make sure it fit. Yet they told me they couldn't even try to install it. They said I must have installed the tile floor after the Dishwasher was installed, but that is wrong, I told them it came with the house and the Dishwasher was the second one we've had. They wouldn't budge. They flat out refused and then proceeded to offer us recommendations for a contractor to install the dishwasher. So after almost three months we still don't have a new dishwasher. I contacted Home Depot support chat and they told me they would have the manager of the Sherwood store call me so I could discuss my options. THE CALL NEVER CAME. So for that I definitely blame the Sherwood store. read more

We live in Newberg and come to this store for all our needs for our new home. We have made several trips here in the last two month. Every time we go the service is great. There are plenty of employees working to answer your questions. They are very knowledge about the products they carry and they are normally quick at the registers. On our most recent trip we spoke to a employee in the Gardening section. We pulled up a few bushes but the roots were so deep we could not get them all. We asked him if they had anything to kill the rest of the roots and he knew exactly what we need! He walked us right over and got us what we needed. He also helped us with out snail and slug issue. I had an absolutely wonderfully experience with Jamie in the lumber department. She helped me sort though over 100 pieces of trim to look for my specific one. Once we realized that it was no longer in stock at that store she called 5 other home depots looking for it. Not only did she check if the other stores had it in stock according to their inventory, but had them physically look in the shelf for the trim. Unfortunately the nearest store that now carries the trim that I need to finish just one room of my house is in Salem. But Jaime went above and beyond to help us find our trim, truly great full. read more

This store needs to train their employees on processes. Literally was challenged and question by an employee on how Military discounts work. After spending over 90 minutes in the store selecting tile, faucets, frameless shower doors, etc. for two bathroom remodels. I am standing in the checkout line and a female employee selects me, with a cart of items, to move to self-checkout. I asked the women if she could help add the military discount since my husband is a veteran. Told her I do not have my ID, but your store still has three of our toilets on site that we purchased using our military benefits and if it would be possible to validate that way. I would have accepted her saying no, we need to see the ID. However, after dragging me out of line continues to question me on "how do you normally get your military discount?" I told her, "'my husband shows his military ID." Then she kept asking, "where are your credentials?" I told her, "I do not have them, my husband is the veteran, I'll just have him come back to purchase these things." Then she continued to insist, "how do you get the benefits, I want to understand the process." Seriously?!? What is so complicated that the process is showing an ID = 10% discount. Again, as I did not have my husband with me, I said, "I will wait and have him purchase these items." At this point she was already blocking me from the self checkout. She continues to stand in my way. After spending 90 minutes in a store I'm ready to leave. Again, I tell her don't worry about it, my husband will purchase these items, as I'm walk long away, she continues to say, "I just want to understand how you get the discount." At this point I realize the woman is undertrained and crazy. Did call the store and spoke to a manager on duty suggesting retraining their employees. Shame on me for not getting this lunatics name. Let's be honest here... I don't actually like the Home Depot. I get instant anxiety when I walk through the doors (kind of how M describes craft stores). While I certainly appreciate smaller non chain stores, sometimes a visit to the Home Depot is required. I come in a few times a year, most recently for lighting, they had 3 fixtures I liked that were in stock and are now installed. The employees are helpful. Although I do not enjoy visiting this store, I certainly appreciate they are they when I need them. Done and done. read more

We received an email stating they were ready for pickup. We decided to pick up the order first thing in the morning. At 7:15pm we received a phone call from Veronica at your Sherwood, Oregon store who stated our order couldn't be filled. I asked if she could find the ornaments at another location as we were not in a hurry, Veronica said no and that she was refunding our order. honestly I would give zero stars if possible. we waited for almost 2 hours for 3 cans of paint. then we took the paint back, decided we didn't need it anymore and so we came back to return it but they said it was non refundable. not once did someone tell us this paint was non refundable during purchase. they did not help us or give us any options at the return station when we were trying to explain that no one told us and how long we had waited just to not even need the paint. this is extremely frustrating since these 3 gallons of paint costed 100$. home depot, tell your team to make sure people know what is and is not refundable. never going there again. read more

Home Depot sells the Jackery 1500 Explorer Power Station. This power station is $1,699.00 anywhere you look. However, Jackery put on a 15% off Father's Day sale. Rather than buy directly from Jackery I decided to keep some of the money more local. So I went to Home Depot because Home Depot has a guaranteed low price, Nobody beats our prices policy. When I asked the Home Depot employee for the price match he was not sure what to do, so he transferred me to someone else who possibly was the manager. The person I was transferred to told me "no" he would not beat the price of the Jackery 15% off Father's Day sale. I then went to the Jackery.com site and purchased the power station with 15% off. I wish I had also checked with Lowe's but that did not cross my mind at the time. Next time it will cross my mind and I'll go to Lowes. Not a good business practice to ignore your own company policy when a customer attempts to use it. Perhaps the word "maybe" should be at the end of the Home Depot price match policy. read more

Worst customer service at this location! After sorting through chewed up moldy lumber for 20 minutes I asked an associate if he could pull the next stack of lumber down and he said no there's too many on the current rack. So I decided to go through the stack of lumber that was slightly longer and while doing that approximately eight associates walked past me while I was standing on a rolling cart shuffling through lumber. None of them offered me any assistance or offered me an alternative to a rolling unstable cart. Some older associate in a fedora actually stared at me for about 10 minutes. Clearly the manager and her associates at this Home Depot do not care about the safety of their customers. What a joke! read more

Yay my favorite Home Depot! We just bought a house and have been to all the HD's in the area and this one tops them all. We spend HOURS in here looking at things, asking questions, and getting advice. My hubz and I are in no mean lumberjacks, but we're also not dodos either. We've completely gutted our bathrooms and are in the process of re-doing them, thanks to the help of Youtube and the HD staff here.
