On February 20 2019 Home Depot was to start a reno on the kitchen in our condo using the north Surrey Home Depot. Once they showed up to begin work they realized the largest counter had been left off the order and was not there. This resulted in them not being able to complete the cupboard installation. Because they only realized this part way through they had already torn out the old counter and cupboards and had installed the cupboards they had. This left the kitchen unusable. We were told it would be 2 weeks until they got the new cupboards. It was actually April 15 2019 before they installed the missing cupboards. When they disconnected my old dishwasher they forgot to cap off the pipe so when our neighbours ran their dishwasher the dirty dishwater came spurting up into the cabinets they had just installed. There was also a second leak in another pipe caused by them. They had us find plumbers to fix the situation and Home Depot paid them but it didn't help the stink in my kitchen from the cupboards. The measurements were not done correctly despite my sending them the specs for the new appliances and the fridge has a huge gap around it on all sides and it looks terrible. I was told they could put in trim to hide that but this was never done. On February 21 the floor installation people were supposed to show up - they did not. They finally got there two days later. On February 22 the counter installation people did show up but couldn't do the job because the cupboards were not installed. They finally installed the rest of the cupboards (including replacing the damaged one) on April 15. This was 2 MONTHS later not 2 WEEKS later. When they finally came in to measure for the counters - the quote went from $3300 to $4200. At this time we decided we'd had enough and did not want to continue with Home Depot. We requested that they refund the money we had already paid them for the Backsplash tiles and installation. We were told they had given the tiles to someone therefore would not refund the cost. They did not give them to me so I have no clue who picked them up. This is their responsibility to keep track of - not mine. We are now currently out the money for the backsplash, the compensation they had promised us for work days taken off to be there and they didn't show up and our kitchen is only half done. We have tried to come to an agreement with them but they keep changing the contact person for us while telling us no one else has authority to talk to us about the case. We are now on our seventh Home Depot representative (Vikas, Rhonda, Jim, Jim #2, Chris, Steve and Lupna) and have gotten no where. Despite promises they NEVER return phone calls. Don't use this company. When something goes wrong they will not help you and they will not honor their promises! read more

We came on a weekend so there was around a 20 min. line up to enter the store. The staff by the entrance directing traffic into the store was friendly. The staff inside was also knowledgable when we asked where to locate the items we were looking for. The middle aged man staffing the plumbing aisle (aisle 39/40) is the reason why I am writing this review. My dad and I were looking at parts together and discussing which ones would work. Mind you we are looking at piping parts so you need to play around to build the right structure that fit. We aren't professionals so we need to take our time (we didn't get asked if we needed help). The male staff there had an issue with my dad and I standing next to each other. We were looking at parts and discussing together and he told us to stand away (~2m) from each other. We respect social distancing and the importance of it. We are also cognizant of other customers so we try to ensure space between us and them. If we are standing on the right side of the section, we "swap" places with the customer on the left side so we can all look at the other parts. The staff's explanation was that when my dad and I stood next to each other, he would come in close proximity to us when he reached in to get a part. This is perplexing because you can simply say "excuse me" and we would've accommodated and shuffled over. It's also tough because all the small piping parts were in one area in the aisle meaning it's hard for customers to shop. In addition, many of the parts were not in the right bins so you have to look in the different bins to find the right parts. Yes, there is a reason why my dad and I are standing next to each other - I am showing him photos and he is trying to rebuild the structure. I'm not sure why the Home Depot staff was making a big deal about me and my dad because he wasn't standing 2m away from the customer he was helping. Neither him or that customer was wearing a mask and he wasn't scared of being less than 2m away from him. My whole family was wearing masks and we are all healthy. Clearly we wouldn't be out if we weren't. The staff then changed his attention from my dad and me to commenting about my bf and mother. They were minding their own business, standing off to the side waiting for us, and away from us and other customers. They didn't get in anyone's way nor disturbed others. The staff was adamant that they stood apart and they ended up standing metres away from each other. I question why the staff kept commenting that we stand away from each other when we are one family, we came in together, and all in self isolation. We are all healthy and wearing masks for protection. He didn't seem to have issues with any of the other customers. We are Asians and I am not assuming or implying anything, but this was a very uncomfortable experience for us. We won't be back. We will stick with Rona or other home improvement stores in the future. read more

If you have a small project for which you have a limited budget...go in and choose the wood yourself or the staff will choose warped wood for you! Presumably, if you are a large contracter, you will be able to waste some of the more warped pieces. However, if staff are seeing a small order of only a few pieces, they need to be mindful that it is a home-owner undertaking a small project and make sure that they select wood appropriately for them. Due to COVID and the fact that it was/is safer to _not_ go in the store, not because of the staff, but other shoppers, we ordered some wood online for pick-up (for a small "planter box" project that is designed to hold flowerpots off the deck) and that is made of wood designed to be used out doors. Some drying time is required if you plan to paint to increase the project's longevity. Got round to project and found out one of the pieces of wood I needed to use for the base is completely warped. I have had it undone a few times to try to correct the situation and it is only marginally better. read more

What more should a customer do other than tell the cashier to change my bill and within a span of 45 sec the cashier doesn't remember? And he wouldn't say anything either just stand there like he gets paid for staring at thin air. That's how typically customer service is at the Home Depot. Neither useful, nor existing or service. Don't go there unless you know what you need and where it is. For any other occasions pack cold food with you for 3 days, map, compass and take an interpreter who is fluent in retard. Please management hire personnel whose IQ is not a one-digit number following a multiplication by 2. I know they can be paid a comfortable minimum wage but do find a happy balance between substandard and professor level. read more

Very unpleasant experience with a staff member named, Gary. We returned 4 lightbulbs, 1 was opened. We realized that we had the right bulb size, but wrong base. All we said was, "we would like to return these because we had gotten the wrong base size". Gary proceeded to raise his voice and tells us, "I can't resell these", "why would you open this", "this is going straight to the bin", "if you didn't know the size, why didn't you ask anyone". We told him that we had gone to the Langley location and a sales associate told us that they were the right bulbs. Gary tells us, "then go back to Langley and complain to that person's face." We told him that we didn't plan on having to return the light bulbs, but he just kept repeating that he was gonna lose money and that it's going straight to the bin. He also said that he didn't want to cause any problems, which quite frankly he was already starting to cause a scene on his own. Never once did we demand for a refund. We never pushed for him to take the bulbs back, besides they were only $8. We would've been fine with a store credit, but that was never offered. Absolutely no way to treat a customer. We found him very rude and unprofessional. All that fuss for an $8 lightbulb! read more

I called a weeks ago in regards to truck rental and if they accept VisaDebt and the lady said yes we do. Today I called to confirm it, a rude men from rentals answered the phone who was not helpful at all. I asked to talk to a manager (sylvia) who was also very unhelpful. She did not know her policy and she called me back after 20 mins saying that I can not use my visadebt to rent a van as I do not have a credit card ( i do have driver license and insurance) and i am not able to use my sisters credit card either even if she is present there. HOMEDEPOT is basically saying if you do not own a credit card, we can not rent u a van which is so stupid against people who dont own a credit card. They also do not know their policy as each person says different things which turns out to be false. Very disappointing. I would never ever go back to home depot. I have been a customer for a long time and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Home Depot is your typical big box hardware store. It has endless options for ones needs. I have been to this location a couple of times and was able to find what I need. I was looking for a rain barrel for my balcony so that I can use the water to care for my plants. I had checked various businesses and they had what I wanted, in the size I wanted, for the price I wanted. Overall, it was a good experience but not great. I usually do self check out so I don't deal with the cashiers too often. read more

Well what can I say about The Home Despot? It's large, there's a lot of stuff and no one around to help you. Thankfully we managed to find Dan, quite possibly one of the most helpful sales associates I've encountered. He was friendly, knowledgeable and provided a lot of great advice on our DIY project. Home Despot tends to be hit and miss that way. When you do manage to find someone you've got a 50/50 chance they're useless as a sack of doorknobs or extremely helpful. Thankfully this location seems to pride itself on good people, so I almost always end up here for my DIY needs. read more

Purchased a new washer/dryer stacking unit from HD in 11/2018 because our washer leaked. That was only the beginning of our problems: 1) Purchased the unit at HD and arranged delivery for 12/15/18. We explained we had company coming into town in January with 2 small children and that it was critical that the installation got done before they arrived. 2) We were contacted by the delivery driver who called our home and didn't identify himself or his company and simply asked "you home". This was the delivery driver from Cascadia who was unprofessional and unable to communicate in English and complained about where he had to park. When he walked into our unit to assess the installation all he said was "I no do, I no do, made a phone call and left without giving any details as to why exactly he was not able to do the job he was sent here to do. No explanation, no customer service! 3) Shortly after that horrific experience I was hospitalized for 6 hours for a stress induced anxiety attack. 4) I contacted HD, let them know that the delivery and installation was not successful, they didn't have the details therefore they said they would call Cascadia to see what the issue was which took several days. I was constantly having to call and follow up as the Manager at HD or Cascadia seemed to feel there was not any urgency to solve my problem since it was now even closer to the holidays. We finally were told that Cascadia would not install the stacker unit we purchased because they do not go over top machines to install. 5) We were having to use a laundry service while we were waiting at a cost of $100-$120 every 2 weeks and they also burned/ruined several of our personal items which would not have happened if this had been done the 1st time. 6) The 2nd delivery attempt was not until 12/29/18 we stressed again with all parties that it HAD to be done because our company was arriving soon. 7) Our restoration company said that they would do the installation as they were replacing the floor in the laundry room because of the previous damage and had no problem crawling over machines if needed. 8) The 2nd delivery driver from Cascadia came and commented that he didn't understand what the problem was after looking at the space where the stacker would go. Saying that the 1st delivery guy should have done the installation as they do them all the time by going over top machines. Before he brought the units into our home he showed us the front of the washer was badly dented. He delivered the dryer and returned the washer to the warehouse, sadly he was not able to do the install as planned. 9) I again called HD, Cascadia and dealt with the restoration company to try to coordinate ordering a new washer and having the installation done for a 3rd time. 10) HD was going to ship us the damaged washer back to use while they ordered a new one and they would install it. We came into the store and Ray, the Manager at HD promised that there would be compensation to us for all of this and that our account with HD would be adjusted for all of these issues. 11) A new delivery date was set for 01/06/18 just before our company was to arrive but Cascadia sent the same delivery guy who failed to install it the 1st time. When I asked him if he was installing he said "no just drop off" I immediately called Cascadia as I had told them an HD to never send that same man to our home again but my instructions were never taken seriously nor where they respected. 12) Nothing could be done before our company arrived, yet delaying the process. 13) Our company arrived with 2 small children and we had no laundry service. 14) 01/16/19 the washer was supposed to be delivered but there were was an issue with another contractor. 15) The washer was delivered and installed 01/17/19 although it is chipped. It's been almost 2mths since install and no one has contacted us from HD to sort out the details or discuss the compensation that was promised. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY! read more

We had our kitchen cupboards resurfaced through Home Depot from an installation company called Renuit Cabinet Resurfacing. Horrible service to say the least. They made sure they completed the installation in the later hours of the day so we couldn't inspect the cupboards very good due to poor lighting. The next day we had a cupboard hinge that was not working and just kept finding missing trim pieces. Two weeks later a cupboard hinge became loose. I contacted the sales rep and was told this was a warranty issue but did not receive a call to schedule a warranty call. Warranty follow up is non existent. I recommend you go elsewhere to get your cupboards resurfaced. read more

If there was a negative I would give that. I did phone S. Surrey Home Depot just to see if it was all the Home Depot storey or just N. Surrey and S. Surrey was as I remembered the service. "no problem just bring in your receipts". I bought 9 years ago a trane 95% efficient furnace and previously Home Depot kept a record of all major purchases (S. Surrey still does). They had no record and I knew it was near the end of the 10 years and it was 5 below and so very very cold inside (around 50 F) I waited 24 hours for a call back from Home Depot and didn't get one so I called a Trane furnace guy. He confirmed via the bar code that the warranty could be up but could have my house heated by 5 p.m. and so I paid the $278. Well another 4 months and 5 below temps outside and the "Corona Virus shut down" so we went and bought the exact same part direct $110 and installed it and again waited 24 hours for a call from Home Depot that never happened. I went and found the original receipt said "10 years parts and labor" and went after Home Depot cause the furnace company does not refund customers and wants only certified Trane furnace guys working on the Trane furnace. Well took 3 weeks to get the refund but no one from Home Depot has called to run the test as to why the furnace keeps failing. Now I did phone S. Surrey and no problem but the records showed I didn 't buy from them and I had to go to the Home Depot I bought from. So keep your receipts.. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER FROM THE MANAGER- HEATHER. I purchased a faucet for my kitchen back in Feburary 21 and it started to leak 2 months later. The water was coming out from the handle due to defective parts. The water traveled through the cabinet under the sink and flooded the carpet surrounded the kitchen. I brought the faucet back to homedepot in surrey wanting to exchange for a new one of the same brand. The response from Heather was: NO! I was told to contact the manufacture on my own. I explained to her that I can't go without a faucet in the kitchen. I do not think that it was an unreasonable request. The purchase was made within 90 days and the product comes with a lifetime warranty. Nevertheless, the manager simply told me to contact the manufacture directly and there was nothing she would do to help. The fact that I would be left without a working faucet in the kitchen did not concern her at all. Avoid doing business at this location entirely would be my advice. read more

there customer service is horrible! We made a major purchase there last year and when we called them to find out how to make a claim under the warranty we were told to return it to the store. We did, only to be told to take it to an authorized dealer, then when we were given the contact information of the authorized dealer it was incorrect. The attitude is very poor, maybe if they hired more staff and trained them better they wouldn't have customers leaving there store wondering why they bought something there. At the very least, train your employees to ASK AND CONFIRM before they rattle off an answer so this kind of thing doesn't happen. This is the closest big box store to us, but we will not be going back for anything, we will make the trip to Rona or Lowes, better customer service all the way around! read more
