Lately I've spent so much time at Home Depot than I have been in years. Renovating comes with continuous returns to the motherland. It's like you think you garb everything you need. Your list in hand, checking off all the things you need. One after the other and then what, you get home and there's something else that's needed that you forgot to add. The good thing about this location, it's not far. An easy trip, plenty of parking which is a major plus anywhere you go these days. As we get older, in my case. I have no need in looking for parking anymore. I'm all about going somewhere that I know it's easy to maneuver and park. This location, plenty. Pretty much all of them have good parking, well in the valley. Plus the service has also been amazing each and every time. They basically know you lately. Plus the little joke of, we'll see you tomorrow....LoL... This visit, I needed to pick up new socket and whatever the plug things are called as well as a new light fixture. Clearly this is not my department. The selection was great. Loads of things to choose from. Even bringing in what I already had and trying to find something similar, there was a good amount to choose from. With all different types. Light fixtures, they have a good selection but limited to what I was looking for. Something simple and small. Mange to find something but what I did like, they ran out. Service was great in the fixture department. The employee that helped us with our questions was excellent. She even gave us some suggestions and advices on what to use. Customer service like that is what brings us back to this place. Of course grabbing what we need, but let me probably say. I'll be back again, I pretty sure. Also layout is pretty explanatory. It's all marked with the banner down each isle. If there's something you need, there's plenty of staff on hand to help. read more

If you need even the smallest amount of help or advice, avoid this Home Depot location. There are virtually no associates available in their departments. Nobody. I even have a video showing how empty the aisles were. It took me over 15 minutes just to find someone. The employee I finally found was named Jet. Honestly, I would have been better off not finding anyone at all. When I asked a question about a product, he laughed and told me to "just read the instructions." I explained that the answer wasn't in the instructions and that I had already searched YouTube without success. Instead of trying to help, he continued laughing and making jokes. I told him that this wasn't funny to me, that my project had come to a complete stop, and that I urgently needed to speak with someone knowledgeable. He said he was the only person working in that department that day and continued laughing. The only bright spot was the Customer Service team. The women at the Customer Service desk helped resolve my issue in less than 30 seconds. They were professional, helpful, and actually cared. The manager wasn't much help either. When I filed a complaint, he simply said he would "talk to Jet and look into it." Based on the interaction, it felt more like he was protecting a friend than taking a customer complaint seriously. I'm so surprised to see how many people leave reviews for Home Depot! I had a wonderful experience, so I wanted to share. My mom and I went in today (Sunday) to get a lemon tree. The one she picked out is about 5ft, so we needed help getting it in the car that isn't very spacious or for these sorts of things. Arturo from the garden department is the MVP! He helped us pick it out, get it into the cart, help us with check out, and putting it into the car in a way to not hurt the branches or make a mess. It's the @light_skin_dragon renting a truck because I can't fly around with it on my back. I needed to take some stuff to storage and needed a truck so I asked my Facebook friends and they recommended renting one from Home Depot. My friend Brian came and dropped me off and as soon as I got there Victoria assisted us. Great customer service and very helpful. I could tell it was a busy day but she came very professionally and assisted me. She check the truck, checked the gas mileage, and explained to me the details. I had to leave a 150 deposit which was high. I used my credit card to put the deposit and the price came to a total of 36 bucks. But I'm happy I made good use of the truck and knew exactly what needed for. Make sure to have insurance because they do ask but they aren't good on having their tags up to date so be ware and check, double check, triple check the truck, van, small moving vans. I gave it a 3 due to the fact that I reserved a truck from 3:30 to 5 and she said they didn't have a truck but would have replaced it with a van. And the truck they lent me had expired tags. My rating is based off of a visit to the garden center. I was in the area for an event and always look for healthy and rare plants. Much to my surprise, there were tons of beautiful and happy house plants and even a couple of rares. Their stock look happy and healthy which is quiet an accomplishment since the plants in most places are usually half dead. The outdoor section was beautiful and also fully stocked. The employees are happy and helpful and the outdoor registers we updated and efficient. I always find the prices at Home Depot's to be better than other hardware stores. read more

The customer service has been top-notch the last couple of trips to this Home Depot. Especially in the Garden Center, which has a great selection and usually some kind of sale going on. You can find good deals at times. The store is always clean and well taken care of. The line moves quickly and the employees help scan everything to keep it moving. They have a large tool rental selection, the most of the tools were in horrible condition. Service was friendly and helpful, plenty of easy parking. They have absolutely anything that you could possibly need to renovate or repair your home here at a fair price. read more

This Home Depot has the best Paint Department. As a shop manager I'm constantly at the Depot shopping for paint for our projects. Sometimes daily. The crew here always takes care of me. Always super cool, never have a problem color matching for me, even if its like 5 or 6 or sometimes 10 colors. It's never been a problem for them. On top of that, their recommendations on specific finishes and paints is always spot on. Alma the Behr paint rep convinced me to switch to Behr's primer and not only does it coat better its saving me some money as well. Everyone there from Laura to Chris , Alma as I mentioned before, Max, Angie, Tiffany are always great to me. It's really nice to go somewhere and feel welcomed. It's to the point that I prefer coming here for paint than going to any of the dozen paint stores around us. Even the ladies at the checkout in the mornings are always super sweet to me. This Home Depot is one of the most unsafe retail environments I have ever experienced. When I arrived, there was a group of drunk men openly drinking in the parking lot. One man had his genitals exposed and was urinating in the bushes. This is completely unacceptable for any store, especially one that families shop at. I went inside and reported what I saw to the manager on duty, who admitted this is an ongoing issue at this location. After leaving the store, the same group recognized me and started yelling aggressively toward my car, including offensive profanity, and some began walking toward me. I did not feel safe and had to leave immediately. The situation was serious enough that I contacted the police to report the behavior happening in the parking lot. This location urgently needs security and better control of the property. No customer should ever be exposed to this kind of environment. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this store. read more

Due to recent events, it feels much safer to shop here now as a woman. No guys trying to flag me down in the parking lot and loitering all over. No food vendors operating out of their cars, and about 90% less trash. It was actually a nice experience. read more

I ordered a carpet with express install. They told me verbally it would be 5 business days so I went with it despite limited selection. They said in an email 5-10 business days then delivered it to the installer so late that it was more than 10 business days. They can't be bothered to do their job on time. I had to pay someone extra to be there to let them in to install it. Still don't know if they will deliver it in time for the later date. read more

I am posting an email I recently sent to General Manager John Cruz in order to possibly save anyone else who may need similar help from the frustration and ultimate failure of Home Depot staff to resolve the ongoing issue with my special kitchen countertop order, as it just doesn't seem to worth it to even try dealing with this particular store: John Cruz, Hello, sir. I was given your name and email by a manager at the Van Nuys store. I am writing you to inform you of the failure thus far of the management of my special order at the Van Nuys store on Roscoe Blvd. In May of this year, 2025, I walked into the Home Depot in Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. to find a match for a kitchen countertop. I am a renter who had damaged the home owner's kitchen countertop and it is my responsibility to get it fixed in a timely manner. I spoke with someone in the kitchen/bath department. That person showed me samples on a computer screen , but none of them matched. I was told there were only 2 possibilities: Wilsonart or Formica, and they told me there was a company called VT Industries that could fabricate the counter using the matching Formica top sheet. I searched the Formica and Wilsonart websites until I found a match on Formica. I brought in this match, this time, to the closest Home Depot to my address, which was the Van Nuys store, but the kitchen/bath employees did not know how to order the countertop from VT Industries. They then referred me to Ruth and Eduardo at the Special Order desk. neither of them initially seemed to know the protocol for ordering my countertop. I left that day, still with no order placed. I had told them my landlord was giving me a reasonable amount of time to repair the damaged counter, but I did not want to push it with him and potentially jeopardize my living situation. I came in again and sat with the employees at the Special Order desk. Finally, after several hours, someone was finally able to figure out the proper order procedure for my countertop. They created an order in the system and told me when I had the money, I could come back in, they'd pull up the order, I'd pay for it and the order would be placed. That order is attached to this email. Several weeks later, I came in to pay for the order. I was told it would be in by November 3rd. By this time, it's June. A few weeks alter, I get an email that the order was cancelled. I came in that evening to Home Depot and told a Customer Service/Returns desk employee, Leslie, about the cancellation. She said she'd ask the Special/Order employees. However, no one called me for the next several days and I came in to ask about the issue. No one at the Special Order desk knew why the order was cancelled. After several hours, I had to leave for work, and I still had no answer as to what happened. The following week, I came in again and this time, was told they'd discovered the reason for the cancellation: no counter style, nor any specific size dimensions had been written in the order! Therefore, the company , VT Industries, couldn't make it. I figured it would be easy to simply re-enter the information (that should have been there in the first order), but apparently I was wrong. With my frustration growing by the week, I told David Martinez if the landlord decided to kick me out due to failure to repair damages (it had already been 4 months!), I would sue Home Depot for causing me to lose my place of residence. Mr. Martinez assured me it wouldn't have to come to that and that he'd personally get involved to resolve the issue and get my counter re-ordered. Mr. Martinez expressed his own personal dismay at what he saw as the failure of communication between the kitchen/bath and special orders departments as well as lack of knowledge on special order procedures. That was last week. However, the order has still not been placed. I recently found the original order in an email and forwarded it to Mr. Martinez, with no response. I sent a 2nd email. no response. I called Home Depot and spoke to him today (Monday 10/13). When I asked him about the emails, he said he had not looked at them, but would call me by the end of the day with information. That call never came. I went to Home Depot this evening after work and spoke to a manager, to ask for your name and number. I am in a bit of shock as to how poorly this entire issue has been handled by the Home Depot in Van Nuys. I am in shock at the lack of knowledge in generating a special order for a countertop. I honestly did not expect it to be October and I still have not been able to get the countertop ordered. Extremely disappointed is all I can say at this point. I am asking for you to intervene in any way to help me get my situation resolved ASAP. Thank you for reading this email sir, and thank you for your prompt reply. read more

I live close to this location, but I honestly dread coming here because the customer service is consistently some of the worst I've experienced. Today was a perfect example. When I walked in, there were five employees in orange aprons all standing together in a circle near the entrance just chatting. I walked back and forth right in front of them, trying to make eye contact to get help, but they completely ignored me and continued their conversation like I wasn't there. I had to find my own aisle while they just watched me walk by. The service at the registers is usually just as rude, but today I had a genuinely great experience with a cashier named Sumayyah (SUMAYYAH). She was incredible and provided the first bit of actual help I've ever received at this store. The real issue is the management. I had to call three separate times and wait on hold for 15 minutes just to give this girl some praise. When I finally reached a manager named Mariana, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. I specifically asked if she was a Department Head or an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), and she refused to clarify, hiding behind the vague title of "manager on duty." For a manager to be that condescending and defensive when a customer is simply trying to offer positive feedback for an employee is disgusting. If this is how the leadership treats people, they need to revisit who they have in these roles and check their production numbers, because based on the level of service, they might as well close this location down. Sumayyah is an asset, but Mariana and the group of employees standing around the door are running this place into the ground. read more

Unfortunately the customer service has been so consistently bad at this location, that we decided to drive to our old one across the valley. The employees at this HD give zero f#*ks about the customers, it's like pulling teeth to get any help, & they don't seem to even communicate well with each other. This store is habitual with terrible customer service and a systemic lack of management accountability. We went to the paint department, handed over our samples, and were told it would be a 5 to 10 minute wait for the samples we ordered to be ready. When we returned, the associate who took the order walked off as soon as we arrived. The samples hadn't been made, and nobody could provide any information on what was going on. I asked Angie, who was working the paint desk, to call a manager. She told me the manager was at the service desk, clearly insinuating that I should walk over there to find him myself. It is counterproductive to expect a customer to walk halfway across the store to hunt down management when the issue is occurring right here; they should be paged to the department. When "Ricky" finally arrived, he didn't even bother to greet us with a "hello" or introduce himself; he just stood in front of us like we were supposed to know who he was. I had to ask what his title was--if he was an Assistant Store Manager or a Department Head--and he was evasive, refusing to give a straight answer and simply stating he was "over paint and millwork." The entire interaction was an attempt at weird control without actually helping the situation. Ricky was unwilling to even be friendly; instead, he spoke in a forced whisper so I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. He then tried to get us to move to the other side of the paint desk for no reason. We weren't blocking anyone, and I refused to move because it was unnecessary. His behavior didn't solve the problem; it only further exacerbated the situation. The most telling part of this experience was our checkout with Mia. She was wonderful and provided the kind of professional, high-quality service you actually expect. Her competence proves that the failure in the paint department is a leadership issue. If this is how the managers treat guests, I shouldn't expect the staff they lead to have any good customer service. This store needs an overhaul at a corporate level because management continues to drop the ball on basic professional standards. read more

Called and spoke to manager DAVID MARTINEZ about a bogus estimate my in laws received for a 100 gallon water heater tank replacement. Whoever HD hired to come out didn't give an estimate on paper. Instead, just told my in laws it would cost $13k to replace their 100 gallon tank. And if they preferred electric, it will run $9k. DAVID MARTINEZ did not want to help. Just said he knew nothing of water heaters. I asked for info to speak with higher up reps and he refused to provide the info. I wanted MR MARTINEZ to look into the matter and he was too lazy to do so. Did not want to engage in conversation and seemed bothered. I called local reputable companies to ask about the estimate. ALL of them said, if it didn't require a good amount of plumbing, there's no way in hell it should cost that much. The only explanation my in laws were given was just to replace the tank. Nothing else. We replaced ours a couple years ago and it was $2k installed. A local company came out and they were done in about one hour. THIS just seems out of line to charge this amount of money without clearly explaining what needed to be done to justify the costs. Support the local companies around town. These big corporations hire crap people who rip you off AND hire lazy managers who could care less. Do better Mr Martinez!!! read more

I know HD can be a pain sometimes. But honestly, for someone like me that screwing a light bulb is the highest levels of construction ability, they have been very useful. But , today, I didn't come in to make any repairs or screw any light bulbs. I came to but a refrigerator, a washer and a dryer. My source for appliances has always been the Best Buy store. But since Best Buy massively mishandled my order that in addition to appliances included four TVs, I turned to Home Depot. The young lady with a great attitude helped me. Unfortunately, they didn't deliver my appliances so I couldn't accomplish my goal. That said, as dusty as everything is in HD, I tried to go and wash my hands. I expected to see a filthy bathroom with no soap and a mess. But to my surprise, the bathrooms were cleaner than some of the bathrooms in the best restaurants in Beverly Hills. You walk in there and it smells fresh. So next time at HD, make sure you visit the bathrooms and be assure that it will be a pleasant experience. read more

Violent and abusive security. We bought a hundred or so dollars worth of stuff here on the corporate card, loaded it up in vehicle, realized we forgot to get velcro so went back in for that. Shortly approached by security who told me he didnt need to see someone leaving the store with unpaid merch to do something because he's an x cop. Let us know he used his taser on some guy who (messed his pants) when being hit by it. He proceeded to take out his taser weapon, point it at my chest from a foot or two away and pull the trigger. Not funny. Not professional. Probably not legal. Home Depot maked it very difficult to complain about this. I ended up calling the police about it. We'll see what happens. read more

Don't go to the Home Depot in Van Nuys if you want to order closet doors. I tried to order doors to fit my closet opening about two weeks ago. The Home Depot personnel were supposed to take the dimensions I gave them and get a quote from their supplier. I have been into the store three times over the two weeks, talked to three different employees including an assistant manager and I have yet to get any service or a quote. Either no one knows what they are doing or no one cares. read more

I was at Home Depot trying to return and make a purchase. Cashier, Johnna, as it says on the receipt. She said the system is not accepting the item and that I already returned it, which I hadn't. I had my receipt with the items and box that was unopened. I still had one month until 90 days and she was not willing to return it. I asked her to get someone else to help. Finally they figured it out. After she handed me the change, without saying anything she disappeared and I was left standing there and still had a purchase. She was unwilling to help, rude and incompetent to do the job they are hired to do. They treat shoplifting gangs better than paying customers. Another person in returns said she was helping out from a different department, so wherever she belongs in that store she's a terrible employee. read more

The checkout line(s) can get long at this location, and yet they always move really quickly. The return line, however, moves slower. I would just wait for the line to be at least inside the building to return your item. If you see it wrapped around outside the doors, just avoid it. It could be 20+ minutes depending on how many people they have manning those desks. This location itself is a solid Home Depot. They always have what I'm looking for and I rarely have to look up and down every aisle to find it. It's a bit hit or miss if you need to find an employee, but once you do, they're always incredibly helpful. The parking lot is huge. You'll be able to find a decent spot no problem. However, the area right in front of the store can get backed up with all of the trucks/trucks with trailers/etc. moving around. Throw in people just walking out of the store & not bothering to look for passing cars or waiting their turn and you are going to experience a slow down. I would just suggest avoiding the entrance/exit on Roscoe. Just go through the back exit and save yourself the annoyance. read more
