My 13 year old Frigidaire washer has never had a problem...until Saturday night when I was washing my kids' sports uniforms for games and photo day on Sunday. The washer stopped draining and I woke up on Sunday to dirty water sitting in the drum. Luckily, I was able to wring out and dry the two unis in time but was freaking out with piles of laundry. I called Tigran on Monday morning at 9:15am and he was at my house within a few hours. He diagnosed the problem (new pump), ordered it, and was back the next day (today) replacing my broken pump and now my washer is as good as new. Didn't end up using Hay Appliance. Why? The owner is too honest! Said he could take my $65 for service visit -- applied to repair if hired -- but based on details I gave him over the phone he said he was 99% sure that our washer is done. UGH! It lasted quite some time: Kenmore front loader. Over 12 years might be closer to 20 we inherited them. Survived multiple families and moving vans hahaha! I asked for recommendations on washers and places to buy so he can get a referral kick back. He said, no. And they are all the same so get the best price. Ok! I went and got the best deal from Costco I will 100% call again next appliance issue that pops up. Thank you kindly. (Best Buy was the least expensive washer & dryer set by $40 but for a lower end brand. Costco has premium brands and includes everything in the price. With Best Buy was going to have to pay $300 worth of parts and insurance. Costco insurance is $89. Costco price is with all parts, removal included. Heck if I paid the $25 per item charge to actually move my old appliances out, yup BB charges to just move your appliances to next room or front yard etc WTF! Best Buy is actually more expensive. Yesterday was the second time we called HAY APPLIANCE REPAIR, during a second panic refrigerator crisis. As much as I have trouble trusting repairmen in general, I have changed my tune with HAY. On Saturday early morning we called all the appliance repairs specializing in VIKING on yelp and no one could come until Monday, just days before thanksgiving when our refrigerator was loaded with food. HAY was the first to call back and to show up within two hours. Our food was saved and the refrigerator is running smoothly. The only problem we have is the actual VIKING POS. I had subzero first over 20 years and a GE prior to that that never gave us any problems. This house came with all new Viking appliances, , very expensive parts, viking has broken after one year, perhaps defective. But HAY once again have helped us out when nobody else would or could. I hired Hay Appliance to fix my non-working clothes dryer based on the glowing reviews on Yelp. I'm happy to say that I was very pleased with the personality, professionalism, knowledge, patience, and honesty of Tigran, who quickly fixed my dryer and patiently explained what he was doing while doing it. I am a retired Computer Technician myself, so I like to watch and ask questions of other techs when they come to repair my devices. I learn a lot about their troubleshooting process and purposes of the components that eventually fail to perform. I appreciated that Tigran was patient with answering my questions and even taught me how and why the sensors in the dryer did their work. So he quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced a sensor, and upgraded my flexible exhaust vent pipe. Then I asked him to take a quick "preventive maintenance" check of my washing machine, and he immediately found something that wasn't properly working on that! I had suspected that something wasn't quite right with the washer though it was functioning, and he confirmed it. So I had him replace a part on that. Now I have both my washer and dryer working as they should, and at what I consider a fair and reasonable price. So five stars to Tigran and Hay Appliance Repair. I am keeping his contact info for the next time I'll need an appliance fixed...because you know that will eventually happen. I highly recommend Tigran. I believe he is a one-man shop, so he answers the phone himself. I also liked that he provided me with a written estimate and receipt, and keeps copies. Totally legit! Top notch repair and customer service! I needed the gasket changed on my front loading LG washer so I called Hay Appliance Repair. I spoke with Tigran, who checked the model number, ordered the part and came within days to replace it. While here, Tigran answered all my questions and gave me operating information about both my washer and my dryer which was very helpful. My LG dryer had been sounding really loud, so Tigran serviced it, replacing the rollers and now when I turn it on, all I hear is a whisper! It's like brand new, even though 10 years old. Within 2 hours of my calling, Tigran was able to come to our home to look at our Maytag washer, which had stopped working. Tigran diagnosed the problem quickly and in expert fashion, and while it seems the motor is on its last legs and we need to get a new machine, he was able to fix the washer so that it worked temporarily and we could finish the load of washing. They had many good reviews so I called to make an appointment I spoke to the owner Tigran. He was very polite and said he could come out the same day between 11 and 2. He arrived at 11 sharp. Tigran was very efficient and identified the problem right away. He got my dishwasher working but said if it happened again I might need a new valve. Tigran charged 65.00 for the service call and said if he needed to come back and replace the valve the 65.00 would apply to the cost of the valve. I would highly recommend Tigran and Hay Appliance Repair. About a month ago I called them about a leaking washing machine. When Tigran came he checked it out and explained it wasn't the machine it was basically user error He could have easily sold us a new seal for over $300 but he didn't so that showed us that he is an honest guy. He also saw that our hot and cold washer hook-ups were reversed (for the last decade ) so he took care of that too. All this time I thought I was getting fat but the clothes were actually shrinking haha This Monday we found out refrigerator was not cooling and we called Tigran back. He came yesterday and was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. Both times he came he explained everything he was doing in detail and was very helpful. His charges were quite reasonable for the work he did. My biggest worries with contractors are that they will do a bad job or try and rip you off in some way. I have been in LG refrigerator hell for 4 months. I have had 4 other company's (including Sear's, which charged me $150, to gave me an estimate of $1,500 to repair) charged me between $59.95 - $196 to come and give an estimate; saying the cost of the estimate would be taken off any work done. What a scam. I would agree to have each company repair, but could never get those company's to call me back to do the work. They never had any intention of doing the work; just get their estimate fee. I had called LG 5 - 6 times over the coarse of 4 months and each time they said the fridge was out of warranty (1 year) and they would charge $195 to give an (out of warranty) estimate. I was so frustrated and so lost on what to do. LG was less than honest and not helpful, until HAY Appliances gave me the scoop. This morning I called HAY Appliance Service, my last ditch effort before I put a $3,000 refrigerator on the curb. HAY Appliances are FABULOUS PEOPLE!!!! He walked me through the whole process; took the time and effort to explain everything. He told me my fridge had a 10 year compressor warranty and what to say to LG to get this fixed. 30 minutes later, LG agreed to pay for a new compressor and pay 100% labor to have it installed. This guy came to my house to repair my refrigerator that I hade a problem with the ice maker without even testing the ice maker he said it needs to be replaced and he wanted almost $350 + he charged $65 for his visiting! I end up replacing the Ice maker myself which the part was only $110 and it end up not being the ice maker!
