I found most of what I was looking for. Visited this place 3 times in the last year or so. Each time the experience is more or less the same. We see about 5-10 employees in the aisles, doing this or that. Stocking, filling orders, but whatever they do, they generally try to avoid my daughter and I. I realize I'm in a wheelchair. I live it every day. The last thing I need is for people to deliberately avoid me when I try to approach them to get help finding an item, or reaching an item high up on a shelf. My daughter and I sat in the lumber department, surrounded by employees, for the better part of an hour struggling to find and load the items we needed. No one offered to help us, not once. I don't expect everyone to come pouring out of the woodwork to render assistance, but it would have been nice to get ONE person to offer. It's sad, the first person to offer to assist was an elderly woman in the parking lot, who didn't even work there! She was a customer! Sad, pathetic. I get most of my supplies from Ace or Lowes, at least people TRY to be helpful there. I only get what need when I'm in a hurry or can't find it anywhere else, which is rare. Home Depot could be getting a LOT more business from me if it weren't for their horrifying staff. ---------------------- 2020 Waited 30 minutes for a lumber associate... he was "at lunch" at 7pm. As a multi version, I've moved around and have utilized the Home Depot for years. The management team and specialty team about for the worst I've dealt with in my experience of shopping with this company. I have made several attempts to talk to management, a supervisor and have you even escalated to regional regarding a poor installation by a contractor through Home Depot. This is my fifth home and I have had several products installed by Home Depot and Lowe's. This is only the second time that I've ever had to escalate an issue. However, their ability to resolve problems or even provide feedback is limited at best. In the future, I will frequent Lowe's or use a Home Depot in another area. I use to enjoy Home Depot for years, that's until I ran into something that could have been rectified by further searching their system. Purchased a kitchen faucet, and the faucet didn't fit with what I was searching for and returned it for another faucet. With me using my credit card, I decided to get a refund by way of gift card, due me purchasing my current faucet. Now, this is the interesting part. I pad the difference with cash. Home Depot finally had one kitchen faucet that I really wanted, so, I tried to do a return. The return was denied and the system claimed that the faucet I purchased was not in the system. I didn't want money or a gift card, I wanted to pay the difference for the one I wanted. Long story short, I ended up purchasing the kitchen faucet I wanted, and I am stuck with one that I can't return. I am not a fan of Lowe's, but, this has definitely left having to reevaluate my relationship with Hone Depot. My advice, update your system and stop having the consumer feel as though they was robbed. Against my better judgement, my husband & I went back to the Home Depot in Waldorf to get a refrigerator. I wanted to go to upper Marlboro, but my husband didn't want to go out of the way. Of course I went with an attitude because the customer service in that place sucks. As usual, there was absolutely none in the appliance department to assist. Several employees walked by but no one asked if we needed help. I guess because I was looking so annoyed, one young man on his way by asked if we were looking for something & I let him know that we needed help. They always say, "there's no one in the department?" I told him there never, ever, ever is anyone in the appliance department! He said he would call someone & walked away. After about 10 minutes and my attitude brewing, my husband said he was going to the service desk. While he was gone, the young man who didn't help us last time came with the service attitude of a slug. I don't get this store! Why do these people get paid to work if they just hide in the back and aren't on the floor to help! Nobody knows anything! This store has THE WORST customer service! I work with people in the medical field all Dey everyday & let me tell you as an employee that provides service and as a customer, SERVICE MATTERS to your establishment! I had several hundred dollars worth of stuff in my cart. I needed an electric drill. ALL of them, every single brand, were under key and locked up where you couldn't get to them. I waited. And waited. And waited. NO employee to be found except for one servicing the checkout line and she was busy and it's not her job to service this other area. I waited and looked around and could not find one employee remotely close or even far away from that section. I left and didn't buy anything. Good grief. I am royalty pissed off. They should get no stars. This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been in. The customer service is deplorable.... they really act like it pains them to do their job. Totally different feeling from their competitor down the street. I purchased a lawn tractor on my Home Depot credit card. The mower was deemed unsafe by my lawn guy due to the hills in my backyard. She refused to respond to any of my correspondence. It is stated online tractors ARE returnable in 30 days. And, if you use their card 90 days. This lady refused to honor policy and sent her minion Joe out every time I came to dispute it. I showed Joe the policy online. He stated that they don't return tractor because of "buyer remorse". What!!!????? Are you guys crazy???? This is not your personal decision, its policy. Well, I called 3 other locations Harford, Bowie and Upper Marlboro they all said they would gladly return the mower. Joe the narcissist, laughed at me doubting they would honor the return. I went to rent a lawn mower for the day. The lawn mower didn't work. I went in asking for a refund for the lawn mower. They didn't inspect the device or anything and told me I should have gotten insurance. Okay, whatever. I just wanted to talk to the manager. He says I can talk but he doesn't think they'll help. Me and this poor employee who called his manager in are sitting there in awkward silence for about 30 minutes so I walk all the way down to the desk where they help with customer service and I walk over to get my deposit back. I wait patiently in line and the girl at the front says "we heard you WHITE TRASH. We will get to you." Meanwhile the manager is basically hanging out with other employees and another manager takes the next person in line. I say "excuse me I was next" nothing happens. I once again say "excuse me" a little louder. I'm just being completely ignored at this point and I then say "excuse me! I was next in line." Loud enough to be heard and everyone that works there stares at me like I'm the one who is the problem. The guy then says "get out of my way white trash!" The entire time the manager is sitting behind the counter with what looks to be employees still saying nothing. Obviously no one cares that I just dealt with racism because I'm a white guy so I just say "fine! Keep the 50 bucks I just know one more place I can't shop in Waldorf as a white person." Monday I get a call saying I have an outstanding balance and then they charge me ANOTHER 42 bucks. The whole thing was over. I call customer service and tell them the situation and the person on the phone says that "while it is not racism" it wasn't nice so..." at this point I've decided to leave the country where everything isn't about race lol. I then stay on hold for a good 20 minutes and just hang up. I finally get a call back from the people that are impossible to get a hole of. The phone rings 40 times and they refuse to answer. Thank God! The man says to me he's from rentals at Home Depot. Finally I can talk to someone. Instead as soon as I tell him I was dealing with racial slurs in his store he laughs and hangs up. I call back and **shocker** the phone rings 40 times. I drove by and looked and there were about 3 dudes smoking and joking while no one is answering the phone. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back. This is also not the only time I've dealt with racism in Waldorf. I've dealt with it so many times I can't even count. I have rung the "help" at the aisles many times and never get help. I constantly deal with useless people who don't know how to do their job to the point where I have had to help people find things a few times. An old couple the day before was trying to get help when one of the employees said they would come back and obviously never did. All this guy needed was If Home Depot cares at all about their brand, they would change the entire staff or just tear it down. I asked the cashier for assistance and she called for someone after about 30 minutes. UPDATE!!!!! HD is scheduled to install my pantry and kitchen drawers today (I ordered the pantry in August and Kitchen in June) with the arrival time of 8-9am. The subcontractor arrived at 1245pm (NOT 8-9am as promised) alone without any assistance. First, he asked me questions about "what color" is the pantry supposed to be....I told him black and he walked away a bit puzzled. Second, he FAILED to cover my floors so ALL OF THE DUST and DIRT from drilling landed on my floors. Third, he failed to cover my countertop (which were installed in the summer 2020) so again, dust and dirt from another drill landed all over my countertop. I purchased an over-stove microwave (Frigidaire Gallery 30) as a Christmas gift for my wife. Despite the fact there were two people (the driver and the helper), the helper tried to carry the box on his shoulder and dropped the microwave. After removing my existing microwave, they discover that the door was broken. As I'm in my office trying to contact the store, they just left without any explanation, apology, etc. and left my existing microwave on the counter top. They ruined my Christmas surprise, but my daughter and I managed to re-install our existing microwave just in time for the Holiday...Yippeee. I don't have the words to express how pissed-off I am. This just validates that people really don't care. Way to sub-contract...Thanks Home Depot!!! Warning: Home Depot rant! Not COVID problem. I found the right granite at the right price at Waldorf Home Depot. Went through the process of doing the measurements, putting them in the system (the rep there couldn't figure out how) paying 1/3 up front. Once the installation company called to schedule I asked if they could send a photo of the granite in their yard so I could verify it was similar. They didn't get it to me until after they came out and measured (Thursday.) Once they did I immediately let them know what they had didn't match and would NOT work in my kitchen. They said I needed to go through HD. So that evening I went into HD and was told I needed to go to the yard (in Chantilly, VA, over an hour drive one way, 57 miles I think) and see if there was another granite they had that would work. So Saturday morning I did, and they had nothing in that price range that was even close to doable. Drove straight to HD and told them. They said the designer would need to make the decision on what to do and would be in Monday. So Monday I called (they didn't offer to have her call me.). She got back to me at 5pm and told me the manager would need to decide and would be in Tuesday. Tues eve I hadn't heard back and went in after work and waited in line to speak with the manager. I was told she couldn't make the call the store manager would have to. They would have someone contact me. At this point I asked her to please make sure someone contacted me since this was getting old. She promised. So Friday morning (2 days later) I called and spoke with another manager who said he had the ticket for my refund minus the $200 for the measurement (labor charge.). He said the store owner would need to make the decision and she would call me Sat. Finally manager calls today and tells me no on the labor refund. Basically it's my fault for not going to the yard and checking before they measured. I explained I was not afforded the opportunity, they told me I could come in After measuring and pick my slab. I love remodeling stuff so whenever I get a chance I spend a lot of time and money shopping items that would make my house look better than it was. I was very happy to find HomeDepot close to home. The store is great in-terms of finding things that you need for almost anything. One thing I would recommend is for managers who oversee customer services/issues is that customer would not like to bring stuff to your attention if they are satisfied with services. Mind you if customers decide to come to your store often and spend their time and money; I would say that is something to be proud of in-terms of B2C relationship. This might be my first review and would not like to say bad stuff about anyone because it would not be beneficial in-terms of ethics. But if customers come to your store to resolve an incident such as wrong charges not only once but 4 times in person, giving them a cold shoulder, wrong information, and unacceptable excuses isn't very professional. Articulating situations to make it look like as it's customer fauLT isn't very professional. I've always been impressed at this Home Depot! Store is fully stocked, staff is plentiful and always within eyeshot so they can help you if you wave or ask. I love this store! Christmas time they have the outdoor area open and the ppl ready to help you find a tree and wrap it up for you. The even take it to your car if you need help!! It's an hour away from me but worth driving because I'm always treated like I matter. We were able to also find a fireplace that goes on the wall at a discounted price for my son. Upon arriving at the counter where you pick up items ordered on line, I stood there, I was the only person in line, and five people behind the counter had a conversation that lasted over five minutes without even acknowledging that I was standing there waiting for service. I am a veteran with PTSD. I take my English bulldog everywhere with me because he is my registered ESA animal. I have never had this issue before at any other Home Depot. I also want to highlight that english bulldogs are docile, lazy dogs. I would understand if my dog was out of line and was bothering someone but this was not the case. I just went in to get spray paint so we walked straight to the paint to pick out what I needed. I got what I was looking for and on the way to the register I saw a older woman who worked there. This is one of the worst most unhelpful locations I have ever been to. So I go in and buy a bunch of stuff, my companies pro account spends more than 300 k a year at this place. Personally I've dropped around 75k trying to get my house together in the last 3 years. So I need a foot of 2" black iron pipe and I notice an off cut, which means someone had them cut it and didn't want the scrap, three cashiers couldn't figure it out. So after about 20 minutes the manager waddles over, same guy that's walked past this situation about 4 times now, proceeds to tell me "he has to sell it by the foot" again this is clearly an off cut, for $95. I go back a day or two later and here is the same offcut, this time with a fresh label that says $95. Dude 10' off this pipe costs $95 dollars. Just ridiculous. Went online and saw a grill when I got there they were out of stock one of the associates assisted me and he was awesome actually they all were, once I checked out my items they held them for me until I was able to get a truck to pick them up, not only that the grill I got was 180.00 they gave me 40.00 off for inconvenience due to the grill I wanted being out of stock. Update: DO NOT SHOP AT THIS HOME DEPOT!!!! After weeks of meeting with Home Depot staff about our blinds and many mishaps, they ordered the wrong blinds! We waited three weeks to receive the blinds and have the install done only to find out we have the incorrect blinds. I call to advise of this huge mistake (we have 30-something windows) and I have to speak to 3 different managers (each more abysmal and rude than the next). I advise that we need to be compensated for their incompetence and inconvenience. They refuse to honor the amount that they told me to ask for. They also sent the wrong quantity of blinds so I have to wait another 2-3 week​ to finish installing the blinds. Worst experience ever! Don't trust Alexa, Marco or anyone in the blinds department. Don't give this Home Depot your monies! Lowes is the better way to go! We received one-on-one assistance from Alexa D in the blinds and flooring department. She sat with us and answered all of our questions. She called us and kept us informed on what was going on with our order. Amazing customer service is hard to find. Yet, people like Alexa remind us of why we always give our business to Home Depot. The manager himself also called to sort out the issues we were having. This store is top-notch all the way. BLUF: Go to a different Home Depot, this one is garbage. I was purchasing the Husky 52 inch industrial tool cabinet and chest combo that I found on their website. This store had 1 in stock (according to the website, they actually had two). Called before I left, to verify, since it's an hour drive. Waited for 15 minutes for someone to answer, no dice. I headed up there anyhow. When I got there, the place was pure chaos. People everywhere. Not adhering to any of their signs which promote social distancing, 15 or so in line at customer service, two other lines for something other than the checkout, getting keys made and maybe paint? Not many associates to be found. I started following one and when I caught up to him, he was helping the key guy, so I asked the key guy to help me, since there was now someone else doing his job. He helped me locate the item, it was in the back corner up high, on a pallet. He said he would go get someone that could use a forklift to bring it down. I waited about 5-10 minutes and then walked back up front. He was cutting keys again. I asked him if someone was coming, he said yes, and wasn't very friendly about it. So I headed back to where the item was and snagged another pair of associates on the way. They were heading to get something with the forklift already, and said I would need to wait until they were done. Ok, no problem. I wait. They get done with that and then say that they need to cut some wood for someone else...who isn't there. So they finally decide to go out of their way to help me. I asked the driver if I would be able to drive around back to load it up. He says yes. I show him where it is and he brings it down. There were two on the pallet. So the other guy goes off and I ask the driver if I can go pay and then meet him around back. He says that the other guy is going to get a flat bed for it. So I ask him if he's saying that I'll need to take it up front, pay for it, and then take it out to my vehicle and load it myself. He says yes, they can't help load it. Store policy due to COVID. WTF? This thing is huge. It's two large boxes. And we already spoke about loading it up out back. I'm not there with an entourage of people to load these boxes, I'm standing in front of him by myself. I told him I wouldn't be able to load it by myself, so I guess I wasn't going to buy it. He had no problem with that. I went out to my truck and got back on their website. Plenty of other stores within 30 minutes. I messaged my wife, sent her the number to one and asked her to call to see if they would help load it, while I called another. The one I called didn't answer. The one she called (in Alexandria, VA) did and when she asked, the associates response was, "absolutely!" As if it was an odd question...you know, because he's actually helpful. I drove 30 more minutes, in the opposite direction from my house, and had a much better experience at a store that was limiting how many people entered and had plenty of associates available to help the customers. I actually had the person my wife spoke to on the phone, when I told him I had an issue at another HD, he mentioned that someone had just called about this item, and we put it together. I came here the other day to rent a drain cleaner and the customer service was amazing!!! When I came to pick it up I was helped by Tomas who asked me to describe the job that I was doing and once I told him, he was able to tell me exactly which tool I needed. He showed me how to use all of the attachments, plugged it up and gave me a basic tutorial on exactly how to operate the machine. At check out he said I didn't sound sure of the time frame of which I wanted and even put in the notes that I may need it as a daily rental instead of the 4 hour rental that I was getting. When I brought the machine back, Tomas was the only one working in the tool rental department and it was a decent number of people in line. There was one guy in particular in front of me that was bitching about his wait time but we were all waiting. Oh well. When he finally got up to the counter I could somewhat hear what he was saying to Tomas but wasn't clear on his exact words but I could tell that he was cursing and just being an ass for no reason. Tomas stayed calm and handles himself in what I consider to be a very professional manner. He apologized to the guy for the wait and all but there was just no pleasing this guy. By the time I got to the counter which only took about 15-20 minutes, Tomas was still calm and professional. He inspected the machine, asked me how the job went and actually seemed happy that I was able to use the machine to fix the problem and not waste hundreds of dollars having a plumber come out. He offered me a complimentary water and checked me out. Shook my hand and gave me my copy of the paperwork and I was on my way. Good customer service goes a very long way and I experienced nothing but the best from Tomas. That guy in front of me was a real asshole but i was still able to have a great experience despite his ways. I'd definitely recommend this Home Depot to people to come rent tools from. read more

This has got to be the worse store ever. Not only do they not answer the phone but the people that work in the appliance department are incompetent. I ordered a dishwasher and fridge from them. The delivery date that they gave me was rescheduled because the delivery place had not received my appliances. They rescheduled the time to 1030-2. Well they arrived at 9am. Smh. Then i was advised that they would not be able to install the new fridge because they can't touch the shut off valve?? I didn't have this problem with Sears when i got a fridge from them 10 years ago. They delivered and installed a fridge with no problem. I forgot to mention that my husband and i were in the appliance section for a half hour looking around. There were 3 workers standing in the section and 2 at desks. NOONE acknowledged us or asked if we needed assistance. We had to ask someone from another section to get us assistance. Once we did speak to someone she was very vague. And non helpful. Once we got to the customer service desk in the front of the store, the rep there asked if we were told about the promotion. I informed her i was not. Awful customer service and refused to work with me. I rented one of their carpet cleaners, brought it home and realized it kept tripping my breakers. How would I know something like that would happen right? Brought it back and they kept the money. The timer on the carpet cleaner, CLEARLY showed that it was not used for literally more than 3-4 seconds before it tripped the breakers. However upon returning they explained they don't keep track of the timers, so i lose my money because they don't? How do they expect to keep customers? You're happy to let me spend money on projects but when I need to help with a product that isn't performing the way it should, I'm stiffed. I'm frustrated. read more

Ordered a washer and dryer December 26th that resulted in two failed deliveries. The first delivery attempt had a broken door on the washer door. The second delivery resulted in a refusal to deliver by Home Depot Delivery since I bought a stacking kit from Best Buy. I was told to buy this stacking kit by the store associate at Home Depot. I called the store and was told to call corporate and there is nothing they can do. I am speechless. read more

I've been coming to this Home Depot for multiple years and this is the worst experience I have had. We ordered a door for curbside pick up we have to wait more than 20 minutes, we even called the store and nobody picked up. I walk up into the store to see if they've got it yet they said the door is on their way. 15 minutes later after waiting the door finally arrives and we open the trunk. The person starts to uncage the door but it took forever. I turn around to see the door had fell on the concrete. That resulted in the door frame cracking. The person had no qualification whatsoever to do that he just stood there clueless. after having a long day and wanting a peaceful easy curbside pick up it just made it more difficult. 0/5 read more

What a day. I have spent thousands of dollars at this HD and never bothered to review it. Helpful (generally speaking) and cheerful (appearing to be genuinely speaking) staff. I have been doing one of those major never-ending DIY renovations and come here often. Way too often. Fortunately-my-wife-trusts-that-I'm-not-seeing-someone often. Then came today, and some way too eager staff member drove me to drink. I feel better now that the bottle is almost empty, but just a few hours ago I was so angry I did something I had not done in decades: I began ranting about it as soon as I walked in the door and did not realize until I reached the bathroom (I really had to pee, as HD took do long) that I didn't kiss my wife first. I was shocked. (She was amused -- that's why I love her so much I always kiss her first.) The plan was a "quick trip" to HD, get home before dark, go for a quick run with the dog, and then help prepare dinner. But this was a trip for 2x lumber. You know the kind: that tight bundle wrapped in a band when delivered to the HD floor and then starts breathing, stretching, sighing and twisting as soon as they break the band. You go to the part of the bin that hasn't already been picked over and start trying to find 2x that isn't bowed, warped or twisted. Then, after a while, you settle for just a little bow. Then later, you pretend it's not as bowed as it is. (No matter, by the time you get home, the fresh air and unhindered space will cause the 2x to twist and bow anyway. Nearly close to being straight boards go into the truck and the Medusa comes out.) So I had finally selected my lumber and, just as a reward for the challenge, I walked over to the tool isle to pick out a drill bit and clamps I am in no hurry to use, but really want to buy real bad. It beats lumber, anyway. I take my time to select the best merchandise (and check online reviews, just to be safe), but not too much time, as I need to get home and get started on the dinner pasta sauce. When I have wasted all the time I dare, lest I have some explaining to do when I get home, I go back to my cart full of carefully and painstakingly selected sub-prime-but-serviceable lumber. It's gone! It is nowhere near closing time and some helpful and no doubt apparently cheerful staff member took a break from doing customer service and must have tried to impress a boss by tidying up. I was fuming. I stalked back and forth along the isles looking for it like the school bully would be looking for a puny nerd who hit him with a spitball. Seeing me waving around my drill bit and clamps like Rambo might have waved a serious weapon (well, I didn't watch any Rambo movies, so maybe he didn't actually wave them) the lonely cashier cheerfully asked if I was ready to check out and, with the skill of a seasoned Home Depot staffer who knows exactly what happened but prefers to act with empathy, led me back and forth looking for my cart full of lumber I already knew wasn't there. I apologized for throwing a tantrum even as I continued to rant. "Do I need to put an alarm on my cart next time?" "Do these people realize how big this place is? It takes forever to go pick out a tool and get back to lumber." "My local lumber yard would never do this!" (Then, why wasn't I at my local lumber yard? They "help" me pick the lumber - it rushes me.) So it went, as I kept ranting and fuming, interspersed with apologies to this young woman who had no part in it. She said one of the clerks had asked whether to re-stock the caand she said not to, just yet. She wished me a nice day once I picked through the lumber a second time and made it back to the cash register at twilight. By the time I got home and had my running gear on me and my leash on the dog, he seemed to sense something was not right. Sure, he did the usual interrupting of my stride to sniff the bushes, pee, and eventually have a bowel movement just to prove he wasn't wasting time. Ordinarily, he would then be done and ready to run with me. Not this time. He dug his heels in (or would have dug them in if dogs had heels) and gave me a determined look that said, "No way I'm running with you. Get a grip. I'm going back home." So, thanks to Home Depot, I had to change my route, run past the back door and let the fog go in leash and all as I hollered to my wife to take over, and then burnt off some steam by running much faster than I should have in part because I wax still so angry and in part because if I didn't finish my run soon it would be too dark to see where I was going on a dirt road with potholes and no street lights. It was do late by the time the pasta was done that it didn't really matter that the wine was a disappointment. I got over the disappointing wine after the second glass. After the third, I was calm enough to write this review. Sure. I'll shop there again. Probably tomorrow, when I realize I'm short on lumber. read more

"Cannot visit 'em. Cannot buy from 'em. Cannot shop with 'em. Can't do it! Won't do it" This Home Depot location is horrible. Of course Home Depot is awesome overall, but this location in particular, the employees are far from competent if you ever need help. They are rude and inconsiderate. I recently moved to this area expecting great customer service as all Home Depots I've visited display. This place is lacking in customer service training, and it's an example of bad managing. Please avoid at all cost, you've been warned. read more
