It's impossible to get associates to help, the have to page someone but they take forever

It's a home depot. What more do you want? I knew what I was coming in for, so I looked it up online to make sure they had it in stock. I was able to go right to the aisle and bay, and it was exactly what I needed. I wish there was an employee around to help me with what I needed because it was heavy but I couldn't find anyone that worked in the sectio. I was able to do it so thats fine with me. Another item I was looking for I must have had a lost expression because an employee came right over and asked if he could help. I showed him what I was looking for and he was able to show me exactly what I looking for. He was so kind I would have been wondering around for a lot longer. The self check out was a breeze and I was glad there was an employee there to help me with my purchase because one of my giftcards wasn't working but she was able to manually override it and solve the problem. It's the closest home depot to me so I'll be back when I need something. read more

I was looking for a freezer on line and it said limited quantities, so I called the store. They did not have the item, but found an exact item branded under a different name hiding in the racks. It was not on their website. Tim and Jasmine in the Kitchen Design Center researched it and assured it was the same thing and guaranteed it was the same price. I told them we wanted it and would be there in 20 minutes. By the time we got there, it was on a cart ready to be paid for. They went out of their way to assure our experience was great. read more

Very disappointed with this location the store is very unorganized. Drove all the way from Kenosha because the online site said they had the tile I was looking for 78 in stock and when I got there we looked all around trying to find it. An employee looked online and also confirmed they had them in stock but they probably got put away in a different location ? All of the other tiles were in the wrong location due to people rummaging through them. Will never return to this location. read more

this store is historically the worst. They don't seem to operate or do things like any other Home Depot. Over the years I've gone there because they are a few blocks away from me. Tried to rent a vehicle once and they couldn't find a key. Went to buy tile that was indicated on line as "in stock", they couldn't find them. Several times I've returned home after making purchases to find I was over charged/double scanned. Today I went to buy some plants to put in the yard since I saw they had a parking lot sale set up. Filled two carts with plant and went to pay for them. Was told I couldn't enter the parking lot due to Covid. I was told I'd have to go half a foot ball field to the far end of the store and push two carts ALL the way through to the end, make my purchase and THEN I could exit at the Garden Center. Thanks but no thanks. I put everything back and left. How hard would it be to put a person in the parking lot to ring up purchases without forcing people to go inside? My experience at Home Depot was with an associate named Corey. He knew precisely where everything was in the store. His coworkers seem to have a lot of respect for him and appreciate his expertise. He has a great personality and I think he should be made a manager or on the management track. I usually only shop at Menards because of the exceptional service, but I will shop at Home Depot as well due to my latest experience with Corey this past Monday. This Home Depot store is by far THE WORST I have ever shopped. There are a couple of good employees but for the most part the employees are rude and seem to not give a damn about their customers unlike the Gurnee or Round Lake stores who are very friendly and treat their customers with respect! They are consistently out of stock on many items and the overall store appearance is below average not to mention the panhandlers in the parking lot. read more

This is the worse customer service center I have ever experienced in my life! One woman told me to step aside where she could help me with order they told me to pick up and then she went on break - after 3 more customers went through line and they ignored me, I pushed way in line. After spending $100 to secure and travel to pick up order the manager said was there, they could not find it and offered no further help. They told me I was wrong that no one called and said there - yet I have proof of conversation on text - they are lower than 1 star and I will purchase all from Lowe's in the future! read more

We've had enough from this place. We've given it our biz for a long time and it just really has never been helpful. But, the last straw was this weekend when we wanted to rent a truck from them to get drywall. They made us wait forever, and then told us we couldn't rent the truck. SOMETHING they said was locked up with the paperwork and they couldn't do it. What the heck? We went to Menards in Gurnee and they were so kind, courteous, fast, etc. We got a truck rented and they helped load it. It was like a breath of fresh air. We will not go to the Waukegan Home Depot again. Menards now has our business. read more

I've been to many Home Depot stores. I'm really surprised at the low review rate for this store. Maybe they changed their policy, but honestly, this store has the the best customer service I ever had at Home Depot, even better than at Gurnee one. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, and always there for you. They even have a gong at the store that you can bang if you don't get anybody to help you (never heard this gong sound though). I've been to this store many times now and I always get help very quickly. I also had a return without a receipt which was not a problem at all. I'm very pleased so far. read more

I bought exterior doors and had them installed. The finishing touches were poorly done and I had peeling paint on the door. The installers came to "fix" the problem and got paint all over my siding. I didn't want them back for any more "fixing". I spent a lot of money and I'm very disappointed. read more
