My wife and I would like to recognize Angel for his Outstanding Customer Service. This morning, I rented a Carpet Cleaner to clean my carpet in our house. I had rented the cleaner about a year ago and I was impressed with it. Angel provided us with detailed information on how to operate the machine. We were impressed with Angel's knowledge of the carpet cleaner. We rented the machine for 4 hours at $28.00 plus tax. There is a $50 deposit which is returned when the machine is returned back to Home Depot. When we dropped off the machine 4 hours later, Uri helped us with the return and refund. Check online before heading to this Home Depot. It's a bit confusing for the layout since the bigger numbers are off to the right in micro aisles or are outside next to the single digits number. I think I was trying to find aisle 60-something, walked all the way to the other side and then only realized... There's lots of workers NPC-ing in various aisles, info desks, etc. here so I can always at least have someone to answer my basic questions. I've gone here to get timed power strips, basking slates, etc for reptiles, and a reacher gripper for my destroyed back. Love the holiday decor that they have in the front and it's a clean store. Plenty of parking as well. Also, just a morbid piece of trivia, but a guy tried to saw his arms off here! read more

Quick and efficient visit! Came in last week for tape and paint. Everything I needed was in the same aisle and there happened to be a staff member there. He was able to assist me to find that kind of paint I needed. Glad he was there since the paint section I needed was locked off. Check out was also quick as a staff member was ready to help. Whatever I need from building one extra room in my house, to the simplest Halloween equipment project, it has it all. I had a gift card yesterday, where the pin was scratched. I went to customer service and Justin helped me by calling, waiting in line for more than 15 min, and gave me the pin. That was an act of kindness!! I'm a contractor who has held a Home Depot Pro Account for many years, spending thousands of dollars with Home Depot every month. Today I went to rent drain cleaning equipment for a small, quick project -- knowing I would only need the tools for about an hour -- and expected a simple and smooth process. While I accepted the four-hour minimum rental charge, I later realized I had been charged an additional $42.99 for damage protection -- something I was never informed about. When I brought this up, the rental associate claimed he told me about it, but it's now their word against mine. As a professional, I am always attentive to charges and would have immediately caught that if it had been properly disclosed. Yes, I left with the equipment and the receipt showing the charges, but again -- I was not aware that I had agreed to damage protection because it was never properly explained. When I asked for a manager, Mike came over. Instead of making any real effort to investigate or resolve the issue, he simply sided with the rental staff, saying that because I "already left" and the associate "advised me," there was nothing he could do. That's exactly why I'm writing this review. This isn't even about the $42.99. It's about the laziness and refusal to do what's right for a loyal Pro customer. Mistakes happen -- but good customer service means you take the extra five minutes to go into the system, correct the mistake, and make it right, especially for long-time customers who continually support your business. Unfortunately, the attitude here was dismissive and unprofessional. It's easy to see why this location already has so many poor reviews -- management clearly does not prioritize customer service. If you rent from this store, triple-check everything yourself, because you won't be able to count on the staff to do it properly. If I have to go to Home Depot, I will choose this location in West Covina instead. It's so much better than the other location in City of Industry. The ambiance is brighter, clean, and bright. It's very organized and easy to look for the items. They also have more selections available and I was able to get the plumbing stuff we needed. Their prices are always good at Home Depot but you get what you paid for. Customer service was better than the other locations. Btw, we finished our bathroom remodeling recently and we ordered the Lexora Bracciano surface-mount LED Mirror Medicine Cabinet with Defogger and Bluetooth speaker ($544.17+tax) from their website and we like it a lot. We also got our new toilet, interior paint, trim, and shower drain there. P.S. They don't accept Apple pay in store, so I have to pay by credit card or cash. read more

This is by far the worst Home Depot I have ever been in. The bottom line not only did they not have the item basically everyone was rude to me and most customer service people were standing around. My family and I are displaced by the free Eaton Canyon Fire and I was desperately trying to find an air quality monitor to make sure it was safe for my 4 month old son, my wife and I were ok to move back in. I ordered and paid for it online and drove an hour to get the monitor as they are hard to find. When I got there they didn't have it ready and the older woman helping me was very nice. No problem. She was the only person who was remotely helpful. This woman at customer service sent me over to the cashier. The cashier told me to go back to customer service and seemed annoyed that I was over there. They then finally sent me back over to customer service and told me to talk to Jessica the head person. Jessica and the rest of the customer service gang was just chilling in the corner. I asked if I could speaker to Jessica as the cashier told me to. Jessica couldn't be bothered and one of the other guys told me to go back in line. And then after waiting in line I finally get the news that they don't have the monitor. No one said I'm sorry even after I told them my situation. Things happen but I was just hoping someone even pretended to care about my situation. No apology no empathy. I pulled into the Garden Store area and just as I was about to get out of my car, they closed the garden area side. I purposely went here on a weekday after work so I wouldn't have to trek through the store to get some gardening items. What is the point of having a sign outside that says "Garden Center Register Hours, Monday-Saturday 6am-8pm, when you're going to close the Garden Center registers at 6pm on a Tuesday? If you have been to Home Depot before, the garden center is on the far south side of the building. I had to move my car to the next entrance (middle of building). Walk all the way to the garden center, then ALL their cash registers are on the far north side of the building. No cashiers, all self check out. What a joke. Couldn't get any assistance in the garden center since no one was around (I had questions about fertilizer I couldn't find), no one manning cashiers since its all self check out, and I had to get to and from the garden center in the most inconvenient way possible. When we hot there, it took a long time to get somebody to help since we couldn't find it ourselves. Then one employee asked another employee, they concluded there were none in this location, which we find odd since we double checked online first. Note the small number on top of sign because they ask for that instead of vehicle description. For the life of me, I couldn't find it and when I asked where it was they said it was on the ground. During the recent LA fires, I was looking to purchase an air purifier. So many places near me were sold out so I found one for pick up at Home Depot. I had poor luck earlier in the day because I placed an online order at the Covina store, only to receive a call an hour later saying they no longer had the item. After finding one in stock at West Covina, I purchased it and called the store to make sure it would be available. Daisy answered my call and was incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to go identify the item on the shelf and bring it to the customer service desk to ensure that it would be there for me. How is it that somebody has to wait 30 minutes to get a propane tank exchange and employees want the the customer to do the legwork to go find somebody to open the cage. The whole system stops when the person on break has the key get an automated system like Lowe's has which makes it easy for the customer to exchange it themselves and don't bother calling the front desk by phone cause nobody answers anywhere in your store on the phone read more

Tried to purchase 10 bags of garden soil. There was one male cashier from garden center didn't allow me to check out with e-gift card. I went into the store and asked the manager there he said I had no problem to check out with e-gift card cause I have the card numbers and PIN numbers. Then I checked out with different cashiers and self check machine, I had no problem. Hope Home Depot can retrain their cashiers or if they don't allow customers to check out with e-gift card, don't sell the gift card online. read more

Your policy of opening up a sealed Christmas tree is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. What are you implying? That we opened the box in the middle of the store, placed items in it, then sealed up the box again? When I mentioned this to the woman at the checkout, she said "oh no, sir. We're not implying YOU would do that!" So then you're implying somebody else opened up the box, placed items in it, then sealed it up again and left it in the store for someone else? Absolutely absurd! After they looked inside the box, they taped it up quite poorly and pieces of the tree fell out as we were trying to place the box in the car, making us even more mad. Great way to treat customers buying a $500 Christmas Tree. There is absolutely no logical reason for this practice and we hate dealing with companies that are stuck on stupid. I've been coming to this Home Depot for quite a while, even though it's a little farther than the one near my home. Looking at you City of Industry location. I'm willing to drive here since parking is a lot easier and I always have good interactions with the customer service staff, if it's returning something, or just trying to get something resolved. I haven't always had the best interactions with the staff on the floor, but nothing horrible either. It's what I would expect from a large retail box store. You get some good employees and some not-so-great employees. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this location and will continue coming here for my Home Depot needs. read more

They typically have everything I need, have the option for curbside pickup and the employees (when you can find one not helping someone else), are very helpful and knowledgeable. Returns are easy, ESP if you're using a HD cc. But even without one, it's not too much of a hassle. If you are returning, consider coming earlier rather than later, as the line can get somewhat long and there are only usually 1-2 people at the return counter. Staff - friendly and knowledgeable, as previously stated Parking - Always parking available. Can get busy at times esp because of so many other stores in this center. A little hard to get out of the lot when it's busy if you need to head south back on Asuza, but that's not really a ding on the store...but still, something to consider. read more

I wanted this. they told my step dad and I that they had 6 brand new ones still in the box. we agreed for them to have them assemble one, straight out of the box and it would be ready to take home on Thursday. so Thursday comes around, my step dad goes to pick up my table. he calls me. says, "this table is dusty, and dirty you will have to clean it" I say "take a picture and send it to me" I get the picture and I am so shocked, upset, angry..this table top counter was dusty, dirty and the wheels looked like they got rolled all over the store!!!!! they offered to take $100 off but I said no. this table top is going inside my home not in the backyard. im very disappointed in the way that home depot didn't provide me with a brand new one..despite them saying they had 6 3 days ago...I will post a pic of the said item and you can determine if its new or not. read more
