If I could give Zero star rating I would. They refused to take a return without a receipt even though their policy clearly states the opposite. The employee didn't even know their company policy and then when I showed them what their website states they stated that it needs to be updated. When going over the online policy with them they gave one excuse after the other as to why they wouldn't return the item for store credit. I'm not the one to play the race card, but they clearly judged me by the color of my skin as their statements implied that I had stolen the item. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with Home Depot and today they have lost my patronage and support. I will be canceling my credit card with your company as well. I had a hard time with this review because throughout my big basement project, Home Depot has either been exceptional or downright horrible. First, I want to say Alenna (not sure if spelled right) was amazing when it came to picking out carpet and purchasing vinyl plank. She really knows her stuff. HD uses Western Flooring as their carpet company and Western Flooring was also great to work with. I had to push out the installation and they were accommodating, had excellent follow up and not only arrived on time, but sent a great team to install. A++ in my book. Terrance in kitchen design was also great to work with. From the initial design, to delivery he was A+ when it came to getting my cabinets. Donna in the paint department was also great to work with. I love her good attitude! But, when it came to get my countertop, all customer service, all responsiveness, all follow through and answers came to a screeching halt. I spoke with Terrance on 5/31 to get the ball rolling. He put my info in the system and said the 3rd party contractor would get in touch with me to set up a date to measure my space and work through the design and cost. I wasn't too worried since Western Flooring was amazing. WRONG! After no call by the following Tuesday, I called HD and spoke with Carrie. She said she would find out what was going on and call me before the end of the day. No call back. I called again on Wednesday morning 6/5 and was told to call back when someone was in Kitchen Design (it was about 6:30AM, so I get it). I called Carrie again and she said she called the 3rd party contractor but didn't know why they had not called back but she would follow up. She said she'd have her manager Debbie call. Crickets. I called later that evening at 5:00 or so and asked for a manager and I spoke with Carlos. He said he would have someone call me back from that department. Apparently, Carrie had gone home. Debbie #1 called (I call her Debbie #1 for a reason, you'll find out in a minute) at 6:12PM. Said that she was not the manager, but Debbie Lloyd was and doesn't know why she had not called. Debbie #1 said they have no control over the 3rd party contractor and they must be backed up. I explained I have already spent thousands on this project with HD (because the other big box store sucks) and that now my project is stalled and NO ONE will call to make a simple appointment. Debbie #1 offered to give me names of other company's (serious?) and she apologized but put it all on the 3rd party. She said Debbie Lloyd will call me back. Today is June 11th and I have heard nothing from Debbie Lloyd or the 3rd party person. So now, I need to find another company for my counter. Since this is Home Depot's contracted "partner" shouldn't Home Depot step up and make it right instead of pawning off blame to another company? We as customers shop at Home Depot (not the 3rd party) so this shines badly on THEM. I doubt I'll ever use Home Depot for another project. The great service I received in the beginning was totally clouded by the inept customer service and lack of follow through in the end. I know my counter project was small potatoes compared to others but shouldn't I at least get the same level of customer service? Seems doubtful. read more

Home Depot, as a brand, has so many great things. The West Jordan branch (store #4410), however, does not. The sales staff might as well work at a used car lot with as many lies as they tell. We purchased a washer and Dryer from Russ (an overly dramatic salesman who said whatever we wanted to hear). We had a very specific window that we needed the product in, and as such, were limited to in-stock merchandise only. He assured us that he would have it delivered right in that time frame. He even told us exactly when we would receive a phone call to confirm the window. A few days later, no phone call came to confirm the next days appointment. The next morning, at 7:15 a.m. an un-named delivery person texts (no call) to say that they were on their way and would be there soon. They arrived 2 hours earlier than our very specific window. His message was responded to immediately letting him know that would not work- no response. The installers then call, rang once, and then hung up. I called the number back- no response. I called again a little later- no response. Several hours later I called the local store and was hung up on twice. Finally I was passed to Maggie's voicemail. Later that afternoon I was called by Taylor about the delivery. He then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about the situation, only responding that the 4 hour window was the best that they could do, and he didn't care that the salesman (Russ) had lied through his teeth about accommodating our needs. Now we wait for our refund, which Taylor had indicated was already being processed. However, they have also sent an email telling me that delivery has been rescheduled to an unapproved date rather than refunding: again, more lies. The staff here has no sense of customer service. They have no respect for your time. They are condescending, rude, and poor brand ambassadors for Home Depot. In an area so highly saturated with shopping options I would encourage you to shop anywhere else. read more

Nice that it is close to me and I go here a lot but it is frustrating that so many products are setup in the aisles which makes it very hard to maneuver your cart around. Near the cash registers is really bad because many times only one person can squeeze through It seems you were having to play chicken with other people coming your way. Also since I do go there at least once a week, I find it very annoying when they ask you if you want to save $25 by signing up for a Home Depot account almost every time you check out. There is no cost savings when using your Home Depot card and I save more using my 1% cash back credit card. If they offered 5% off like target does with their card at their store I would jump on it. I do enjoy the self checkout lanes here and the fact they have not converted to the newer Home Depot check out lanes that other locations have converted to which are a complete mess. read more

First of all, be sure to visit my first review of the orange vs. blue breakdown. It's truly brilliant reading (insert mostly sarcastic sign here). Just had to update for two reasons: 1) I had a terrific experience today with one of the associates. Pretty much a personal shopping assistant who helped me find what I needed, helped me figure out if it could be cut, had it cut, and made sure I had what I needed to pay. I'm about 71% sure his name was Adam, and he definitely went out of his way for me. Kudos. 2) That's really the secret. It was 9:15pm on a Monday. The ideal time to go to Home Depot. Daytime visits are okay, but you still get some all-business contractors who aren't messing around. Weeknights are where it's at. Avoid Saturdays at all costs. I mean, I know it's when you're doing your project. But stock up during the week, then hunker down at home on the sprinklers or bathroom or whatever you're doing. Saturdays are a zoo. I get it. They do their best. But when your employees outnumbered 20:1 it's just gonna get ugly. Weeknights, baby. Late, late weeknights. read more

This location of Home Depot has the best customer service ever!!! My husband and I came 30 minutes before they closed to get vinyl sheet flooring for our office. Chris (in charge of the flooring section) came up to us right away and helped us and he was awesome!!! He knew exactly what was doing and since the vinyl that we chose was a return from someone, he gave it to us at 1/2 price!! The two boys at self-checkout were kind enough to help us checkout our items and then took the car back for us from our car once we were done using it. This is a newer Home Depot store that is stocked with just about anything and everything you could want for your home or home improvement project. I prefer to shop at Home Depot even though there is a Lowe's closer to my house because Home Depot seems to have a better selection of products, their stores are easier to navigate and I have less trouble finding the products I want. Employees at Home Depot are helpful, although it can sometimes be hard to flag somebody down when you need assistance. With lots to choose from, good prices, and helpful employees, the Home Depot in Sandy is great. read more

Cheryl, one of the cashiers is the reason for this 1 star review. She rude, unpleasant and Intentionally unhelpful. She literally refused to call someone to help me in the hardware section and even had the nerve to stare at me while I tried to find someone else to help me out. My daughters stroller got soaked so I'm having to carry her around the store for several minutes before I was able to find someone in hardware to help me out. I honestly don't know where to begin. This was one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I've had, like ever. Went with the gf to buy supplies to refurbish some furniture. There were more employees than customers and they were the most useless, unhelpful employees I've ever encountered. We asked one worker where the sanders were and he replied he had no idea and we would need to ask someone else. We asked someone else who pointed us to aisle 21, which was on a half aisle in freaking Narnia apparently. The store layout is maddeningly chaotic, and we saw so many employees wandering about and blocking narrow aisles who offered no help and had no clue where things were. At one point I was juggling my puppy and a full cart in an aisle that was blocked with a large ladder and flat bed cart for stocking. Instead of moving these obstructions, an employee told me I needed to move so she could walk through. Are you kidding me?! I will never ever go back to a home depot again, I don't mean to be harsh but why the hell do you even have staff if they don't know anything and are completely disinterested in helping customers?? Where I live pretty close to this Home Depot, it is visited by me WAY too often, but I'm grateful they are nearby. Like all the Home Depot's, it is organized really well with very informative staff on each aisle. I have found the electrical aisle help to be very instructive; where I have rewired quite a bit of my house as well as pulled 60 amps to a shed I constructed. This is what I feel sets Home Depot apart from other Big Box hardware stores. Their prices are competitive to what I find online, and where I typically am buying very heavy or large boxes, you certainly save on the shipping to go with these guys! I have also enjoyed their option to call ahead and have the staff pull and load your wood and sheet rock. I got there and everything was on a couple trays, and we went over the order (counting everything) and was very satisfied when I got back to my place to build. 5-Stars read more

UPDATE 8/8/19 It's been years ago so I thought I would give Home Depot another chance with an $1100 purchase. Applied for HD credit card online to receive an additional $100 off over $1000 purchase. Application process told me to call HD support. They had problem processing my app and told me to verify my ID at a local store. Went to store, show my ID and they told me to call another finance center. FU! FU! Home Despot. You wasted a whole day again. How the hell is your store still in business? I went to this store in west jordan ...horrible customer service, waited for more than 30 minutes for help in the kitchen design area , employees were walking around, chatting, eating chips, drinking soda( I think) , went to customer service counter, they say they will call someone...no one ever showed up., I asked a nice employee (didn't get her name) she call immediately over the intercom...still nothing...finally I saw an employee in the kitchen design area...I thought he was there to help me...I approached him and without hesitation he said "I have no idea of this area and walked away...really? Customer Service did a great job. The manufacturer did not add lubricant to the faucets I bought so instead of returning them, she just gave me some lubricant. Cost was $1.79...but meant that I was valued to them. She actually used common sense to make the customer happy! Wow, mind blown. This reignited my faith in them. Nursery workers here are some of the most clueless I've encountered. Tree selection is decent here, but Lowe's has better prices. Plus, Home Depot doesn't own its plants so it cannot discount or clearance them. As for the rest of the store, I bought cedar wood fence planks here for garden planter boxes. Fencing quality is terrible here. But it worked for my needs, which was not an actual fence. It would sure make an ugly fence, both their cedar and stained white wood. It can be hard to find service at this location, so expect to wander the aisles. After working on a lot of home projects, Lowe's usually beats Home Depot in quality, service and knowledge. Home Depot has a slight edge in cost, but that really depends on what you are buying. My advice is to head west to Jordan Landing to find what you need at the best Lowe's in the valley. read more

Do not buy flooring from Home Depot in Utah and let them have WESTERN STATES FLOORING install it. We spent a great deal on beautiful hardwood through Home Depot and the INSTALL made it look terrible. The wood came in wide and narrow strips and instead of installing them in a random pattern, the Western States installer got lazy, clipped wide and narrow together and then cut them all the same. I'd rather shop at Lowes any day of the week better prices, better staff and definitely a better store. Home Depot is so outdated and behind the times, you walk into Lowes it feels brand new inside, clean fresh, very friendly staff the return policy is excellent. Home Depot return policy sucks they won't even touch any of your returns unless you have a photo ID or a receipt or proof of everything I'm surprised they don't fingerprint you and have an FBI agent there and take you in the back room the place is a joke. Due to proximity and convenience to other stores, I usually frequent the big orange store in the Ft Union area, however, today my shopping expedition took me west. Well, I'm really glad it did, because I had a delightful experience. Which isn't something I ever really say about going to a hardware store. Especially not about the gigantic ones with so much stuff that my mind a'hazes and my eye a'glazes. Today however I was on a specific mission: purchase the $10 chisel set and get out as quickly as possible. It was an emergency, as my husband needed it to carve an awesome pumpkin for a contest tonight and was running short on time. Well I rushed in, searching the overhead signs frantically for the right department and was immediately approached by a friendly orange apron wearing gal who told me the exact aisle for a chisel set. Upon arriving in the aisle, after only 30 seconds of searching through drill bits, the department orange vest wearer walked up and led me directly to the chisels. I grabbed them and headed back out to the final destination, the checkout. About 20 quick steps later, I realized I was headed in the wrong direction and was about to back track when yet ANOTHER friendly orange apron guy asked me if I was ready to check out and offered to help me there at the customer service counter. No wait, no backtracking. Thank you! I'm not sure if everyone has the same experience each time, but I was very impressed that their employees all recognized in me a person who needs help (hopefully I don't exude that all of the time...hmmm) and happily and quickly took the initiative to do just that. read more

Usually when I walk through a Home Depot or Lowes, it's par for the course to see employees avoiding eye contact and walking the other way to avoid the terrible idea of having to answer a customer's question. It happened again. This time it was the customer service in the appliance department. On a slow Thursday afternoon, I went in for paint and saw the deal in appliances. The woman was little help while we purchased a refrigerator. We were wondering about the HD credit card, maybe bundling with other appliances but she didn't offer any kind of help, even trying to charge us for an adaptor that was included (says so on the box). I wish another associate had gotten the sale instead of her, even told the manager that. I gave them two stars because it was a great deal otherwise it would have been one. I went there in search of a machine to help me tear up a bunch of tile. A lady showed me a tool I could rent that would be perfect for the job. They don't do reservations, so I came back the night before I was starting my project to rent it for 24hrs. I got there and the guy in the counter took me to the same machine and rented it to me. First thing in the morning I got at it. This machine would not even start to pull up the tile. I watched a few YouTube videos on it, and the machine was meant to pull up Linoleum flooring. I had a bunch of people there to help, so we went at it with crow bars a hammers. When we were done I loaded it up and took it back, well before the 24hrs. The same person that rented it to me was there to check it in. He ask how it worked, I told him it didn't. Then I told him about the videos I watched. He replied " I never told you that it would work on tile". Why the hell would he rent it to me, if it would not work? Then he printed my receipt for the whole rental charge, and asked the person behind me if he could help them. I will never go back to that place, and will tell everyone I know not to use them. Whatever you do don't buy appliances from this store. Go to Lowes instead. Usually, we are very happy with the customer service at Home Depot. However, we recently purchased a freezer, stove, and dishwasher. The delivery company came. The men put the freezer in its designated spot. (The stove was delivered and installed last week.) The dishwasher was set in my dining room and left without being installed. They said we had to set up an appointment with Home Depot to have a plummer come and install it. This is something that we were NEVER made aware of. Now we get to have an unusable dishwasher sitting in the way for another week and they didn't take the old one(which we paid to have removed.) We would have made these arrangements when we made the purchase had we had known. Now we are going to miss more work and be inconvenienced all because of the incompetence of their sales staff. Not only that but the delivery driver chipped our counter and gouged the floor. He didn't care, had an attitude and told us it was old and didn't matter. Very frustrated. Every other Home Depot I have gone to has staff willing to help. Not this one, it is ridiculous trying to get help. I was even told I could not pay off my HD card there, I would need to mail it in. I tried to get help with fencing and told to call the number on the vinyl fence outside, I called the toll free number, could reach a live person and was routed back to the west Jordan store who told me they couldn't help me. I tried to get help in the carpet area, waited for 24 minutes after asking the help counter, before I finally left. I have spent hundreds of dollars on multiple Ryobi products and have even bought extra batteries because the Ryobi batteries are terrible and only last about a year and replacement batteries are very expensive. Home Depot and Ryobi need to fix their battery problem. I wouldn't recommend Ryobi products to anyone unless you get several additional batteries!!!! read more

I'm a regular costumer at West Jordan homedepot, they have good stuff and bad stuff. For example a couple of days ago I saw a big rat running around the store. I reported the situation to the manager and he told me he already knew about it. Also, the store is old.
