Bought the biggest Husky tool box. When I opened it up I discovered that the top box lock was broken. I went back to the store and after the customer service people were of no help and gave me wrong information I got the help of the department supervisor. Very nice lady. She scheduled a new delivery and pick up of the broken unit. Had to wait two weeks. The delivery and pick up never happened so I went to the customer service desk again. Waited about 45 minutes while they were on the phone trying to figure it out. Nobody had record of the pick up, even though I was given an RMA number and a specific pick up date two weeks prior. The new unit I was waiting for, which was supposed to be delivered today, was missing in action and nobody could tell me where it was or if it was delivered to someone else. They opened up an "investigation" to find out. In the meantime I was charged for the two toolboxes, total $1,400. I will only be reimbursed when the broken unit is finally returned to sender and when the investigation about the missing one is over. I took a day off for a delivery and pick up that will never happen, among the other issues and the obvious frustration. I was offered a rebate but turned it down. I would rather pay more and go somewhere else than do business with Home Depot again. Unless I need an orange bucket I'll never set foot in this store again. read more

Perhaps Yelp is not the place to air grievances, but I have tried everything else, and have yet to have an issue resolved. An order of hardwood flooring was placed by my parents right around Christmas time (their gift to us!). It was to be delivered Jan 3. Our living room was gutted Christmas eve in prep for this flooring to be installed. After multiple "delays", (which were never explained), the flooring was delivered to the store on Jan 23. I contacted the shipper to be sure. Husband goes down to pick it up, and IT CANNOT BE LOCATED!!! He spends two hours there, and no one can tell him where it is, when they might find it, or what the next step is. I call the next day, and the (initially) friendly "Manager" assures me she will get to the bottom of the situation. multiple hours later, she calls me, very irritated, and says it is not there. She doesn't know where it is, nor what else she can do. Uh, what??!! So we've paid for flooring and installation, and it's nowhere? And you aren't going to tell me what to do next? I politely ask for the General Manager's name and number, his work hours (which she doesn't know), as well as the receiving manager's information. At least she knows the guy's name..... If the GM cannot help me, I will have to take it to the regional level? I suppose I could ask for a refund, then wait another month to get it somewhere else? I've never been a super happy customer there, unless you need something brainfree like tape or a hammer. My family worked in/around the construction industry for years while I was growing up--this is no way to encourage customers to come back. Lower prices be damned. Please consider shopping at another competing business for your home improvement needs! read more

Ordered 3 pallets of Windsor stone for my house. Had friends and family over ready to help move and bricks never showed. Called said they forgot to deliver, asked for manager to help me out cause i had people waiting. He didn't offer any solutions to help, everyone jsut wastes there time and i had to move them 3 days later when they finally showed up. ( I live 5 mins from the store via car) He could have made it work. Store always seems to have empty shelves, Especially in the garden area buy everything you need at once cause they wont have the same colors or style next time you go. read more

We ordered foam board insulation to insulate our garage door, drwall and fiberglass insulation for our garage ceiling. The insulation and all arrived together the next day which was awesome. However 2 of the foam board sheets were damaged, so we called to have them picked up and two new ones delivered. That came the next day, only it was the wrong insulation. We were then told that it would all be resolved the next day, so we waited all day for that delivery, it had been promised between 9 and 10 am. Never happened. Now we are told it will not be delivered until 2 days from now. In the meantime we have spend HOURS on the telephone waiting for this to be resolved. I suggested to the girl handling the issue that if they realize a delivery is not going to be made as promised it would be a nice gesture to let people know...her attitude came across as "too bad for you lady, I'm busy"...It is obvious the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, there is not nearly enough help in that place. If possible, I will never deal with this company again...it is way too frustrating and time consuming. What ever happened to customer service? read more

When I moved to the area, I bought a fixer-upper. Was excited that a home improvement store was so close to the house. Unfortunately, every time I went into the store, they did not have at least one item that I needed. The shelves were poorly stocked and often times items were in the wrong places (causing people to buy the wrong item if they only read the label on the shelf and not on the item). Prices are decent and comparable to all of the other home improvement stores. Their return policy is very good as well. I have dumped thousands of dollars into the store over the past few years as I have gotten my house into shape. Even so, I constantly end up having to drive to another store because they just don't have what I am looking for. Also, the garage door installers that they use are not good. They incorrectly installed my garage door, causing the opener's motor to burn out. The opener company replaced the motor, but when the second one burned out, too, they would not replace again. When I contacted home depot, they told me nothing could be done on their end. I fixed the doors myself when I finally had time, even though the original installer should have done it, and had to buy a new opener. Very disappointed with that experience. Also, when I need help getting an item off of a high shelf, or when I have a question about an item, finding a staff member to help me is very difficult. And, sadly, they sometimes give incorrect advice. read more

I hate to only give a 2 star review when I have had a few good visits here. Unfortunately I have had to return too many unnecessary items which I was told by some employees I would need for my project. Occasionally I will get good advice, but not enough to earn more than 2 stars. read more

I was helped by Lisa in the tool rental department. She was the best! I needed help with getting everything I needed to insulate my walls at home. She helped me get everything I needed, not only that she fixed a mistake someone else made on my order. This was all done before I could call her to fix it. This honestly was the best experience I have at going to Home Depot! read more

My wife and I are redoing the flooring in our home. We were looking to purchase a large quantity of laminate flooring. The Windsor Location has the necessary quantity for us to complete our project. We went into the store one evening verified that they had the correct quantity and that Home Depot would honor their advertised price on their website. The next day I went in with my truck to purchase it. The lady at checkout couldn't figure out how to match the Internet price. I was instructed to go to customer service upon where I waited for the next available associate. This associate could not figure out how to honor their advertised price either. So then I got the manager Kayly. After back-and-forth and showing them the advertised price I was told that I needed to purchase it online and that the store couldn't match the price. I asked if I buy it online can I take the quantity that they have in stock and complete my project. I was told if I wanted to take the materials home today I needed to pay the stores full price. They were unwilling to honor their advertised price and the manager became rude. I even explained that we only had a small window to install the flooring, but they wouldn't budge. So I went to Friedmans In Santa Rosa and they were more than happy to do what it took to sell me flooring. So Home Depot lost out on thousands of dollars because they won't budge on a couple hundred. read more

someone answered my questions about price and if you have it, went down there and bought #36 boards at almost $800.00, waited out side to be loaded, they were loading others at the time, and I knew to wait my turn, waited almost 1 hour, guy came out and told me they didn't have the material and told me to try another store, it was late so I asked for my money back, had to walk down to the return line, when I called you said you had material and gave me a price of $ 17.37 that was wrong, it was $ 20.00 something. This is the best operated Home Depot store I have ever shopped in. The employees have been fantastic. We recently purchased a home in Windsor, and initially were visiting the Home Depot in Santa Rosa as well as Lowes in Rohnert Park. There is absolutely NO comparing these stores. Windsor Home Depot is doing something right. I have been in multiple times, purchased thousands of dollars worth of items, and have yet to encounter an employee that didn't seem to care about helping. VERY impressive - especially in today's retail world. We had an issue with a refrigerator purchase there, but they took care of it. Going there again this evening to spend more money. . read more

DO NOT USE THIS INSTALL AND DELIVERY COMPANY, THE ONLY COMPANY HOME DEPOT USES. The installers called twice moving up arrival time but still arrived 30 minutes before their agreement. I walked out with them and showed them where to park to protect my septic tank. Then they drove past the area, right over the tank. Inside, they decided that they didn't have the right connections, claiming that Home Depot didn't tell them what I ordered. They declined to use my phone to call for the necessary parts and repeatedly tried to get me to take the dishwasher without the install. The installers got in their truck to leave without explanation or resolution. Again I pointed at the tank and told them to avoid the tank, and the driver swung wide, deliberately driving over the tank. The Linn Star supervisor didn't listen, or care and said that the driver gave another story, so they would do nothing about the install, still blaming Home Depot, nor the damage to the tank. I would advise NO ONE TO USE THIS COMPANY and DO NOT PURCHASE HOME DEPOT INSTALL because this is the treatment you'll get, the driver will just lie, and apparently Home Depot doesn't care either. read more

We have looked for a piece to fit on the end of the nozzle that comes into our sink in the laundry room for a long time in Santa Rosa and have never been able to find one. Last week we were at your store and Tony helped us and found the right thing by putting together with another part. As a former employee, I can say that nobody likes being understaffed more than the employees. There are some phenomenal miracle workers, but also a huge turnover, and it's often difficult to retain people who know a lot about the vast inventory. You can save overhead by brutally cutting workforce, insurance, and benefits, but service will suffer, and in the end, it hurts business. If you know you're way around, and know what you want, it can be a self serve experience. read more

I had a number of things to buy but when I asked where a piece of hardware was the associate I spoke to, Aaron, told me he couldn't help me right now and I would have to ask someone else. And then he walked off and kept looking over his shoulder to see if I was still standing there. For a 50-60 year old guy, you would think he would have better customer skills. I decided Home Depot deserves a yelp review for the experiences i've had there. I was met at the door with a greeter who guided me to my first thing i needed. I found myself wandering into the garden department, where a gentleman spent almost half an hour answering every gardening question i had. I ended up buying three plants i had no intention of buying beforehand. I then had a list of random things i needed, and there was always someone nearby to point me to where i needed to go. I found the drawer pulls to be pretty expensive, and the girrl thagt showed me where they were fund a pack of drawer pulls in another aisle for half the price. I was very impressed she went out of her way to find those for me. I then had two guys help me pack the wine fridge into my car, which didn't fit so they delicately twined the trunk of my car around the wine fridge. Everyone was so helpful, I'll be choosing to shop at the home depot from now on. read more

i love this store. they are polite and helpful and have excellent products to offer. i use their garden department at least once a week. one time a plant died and it was replaced immediately with out any problems. i must note i have a service dog and as a little puppy she was socialized by the store allowing her to be exposed to noise and all sorts of friendly people. thank you home depot for being their for my family and my service dog. read more
