Quick service, diner atmosphere, hot food. Stopped here with my mom for breakfast. I ordered a skillet and mom ordered the pancake platter special. The special comes with links and bacon. Mom asked for all bacon, server substitutes no problem. Food was served hot right off the grille, actual steam from the plate! My one and only problem was they had no sour cream :-/. On our travels we stopped at this wonderful place to have breakfast!!! We were about an hour away when we picked a place to stop by: somewhere open, somewhere with breakfast and we licked out! I am doing a keto and sugar free diet and they didn't judge me at all when I brought my own sugar free creamer in. Super welcoming and friendly. PLUS delicious food! Breakfast crepe was exceptional, crispy in all the right places. Fresh mushrooms! My diabetic dining partner did not have trouble finding a tasty meal. Coffee was good. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very sensitive to our needs, being right there when we needed her. Price was reasonable. Stopped at the Hot Skillet on our way to Indiana for some breakfast, it was a great choice. The restaurant is small but the food was delicious and service was fast. My girl & I met some friends for a lunch at the Hot Skillet. We hadn't been in the building since it housed Takokat, an interesting Mexican restaurant that closed probably during the early days of the pandemic. The interior of Hot Skillet seemed brighter, and the restaurant certainly was busier than expected. (Takokat and its predecessor in the building, Cafe 237, never seemed to acquire the type of following each deserved.) Even so, our server was attentive and took good care of us. My girl & the others ordered breakfast, while I checked out the establishment's Reuben sandwich & fries. Our friends ordered meat & potato breakfasts, and expressed contentment. My girl asked that eternal question, "Does your Eggs Benedict come with real Canadian bacon?" and the answer from the server was, "Yes." Real Canadian bacon comes from the lean eye of the pork loin and my girl, after tasting the protein sitting under the poached eggs & Hollandaise sauce, was unconvinced. On the other hand, the poached eggs were perfectly soft and the Hollandaise sauce was unbroken (personally, my biggest gripe about the dish in restaurants). My Reuben sandwich was grilled on a flattop and had ample protein & sauerkraut. The fries were tasty & were coated with something that wasn't objectionable. My coffee was yummy & hot. The prices were typical of what is seen now in these post pandemic times for breakfast & lunch dishes. If in Paw Paw, we'd eat here again. read more

Quiet little newer restaurant in the town of Paw Paw. We went on a Monday around 9:30 and it was empty. Sat right down and the waitress came up right away. She recommended the breakfast crepe when I said the crepes caught my eye. And it was delicious!! Almost like a thin omelet then sitting on top of a thin crepe all draped in hollandaise. I usually ask for the sauce on the side because it can be super heavy but their recipe was light and refreshing! We will be back again soon! They said they have been busy on the weekends. read more

We were referred to Hot Skillet after our other favorite restaurant in town was closed. We are so happy we were. The food is excellent. Jose always has everything practically ready for us when we sit down. He and his wife remember their customers and what they like. The waitresses are super friendly and are always right there with everything you want and need. The ambiance is also nice. The restaurant is small but really clean. I had the Country Eggs Benedict. The sausage gravy was rich and savory. The biscuit was very good. The service was quick to refill your drink. I would suggest a little larger glass and coffee cup. Food was delivered quickly after ordering. Not a large place but service did not suffer with a at capacity restaurant. It is a charming restaurant and the ambiance is clean and bright. I recently had a lunch at the new Hot Skillet in Paw Paw. This location has been numerous restaurants over the years. The new owners have totally brightened up the interior and made this place feel very comfortable. D has eaten breakfast here and said they are very good. Since it was lunchtime, I opted for their Reuben Special. I love a good Reuben and this sandwich was amazing. The waitress was very nice and kept an eye on us. The Hot Skillet menu has many choices and serves all types of breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. They are opened from 6:30am to 3pm, 7 days a week. What a great addition to the Paw Paw food scene. I highly encourage you to check them out. read more

Pros: This place has AMAZING breakfast. I have only ever as of this review had the eggs Benedict. I believe it's called the Popeye eggs Benedict. I could be wrong about the name. Any how it has spinach added along with what is traditionally on the dish. I had the bacon taken off. Fresh eggs. The English muffin was not soggy and tasted great also. I went in one time with a friend. our order came out super fast orders. Less than a minute later we got our food. Amazing service nice staff nice little place to get breakfast food. We ate breakfast here this morning. My kids like their breakfast, and the serving size looked good for both of them. My friend and her daughter also had breakfast with us and they were both happy with theirs. I noticed there is a breakfast burrito on the menu. I ordered it with no sausage gravy, and no cheese. I was assuming that burrito would have onion, mushroom and green pepper mixed in with the hashbrowns in the burrito. No where on the burrito description did it say that it has eggs in it. I will attach that screenshot. When Bridget the waitress dropped off our food, I was surprised to see that the burrito contained 90% scrambled eggs and the other 10% was sausage pieces and hash-browns. When I questioned Bridget about the burrito, she said that sausage was the first thing on the burrito contents and it was supposed to have eggs in it. She rudely asked if I wanted to order more food, but didn't give me an opportunity to feel at ease about ordering breakfast I couldn't eat. She didn't respond the way you would expect a server to respond if someone's breakfast wasn't right. At no time did she give me the impression that they could remake the breakfast. At the end of our breakfast, the burrito looked the same as it did when she brought it to the table. She asked if I wanted a box for my left-overs. Lol. I was definitely charged for the burrito along with our other food. Customer service was definitely a miss here. Unlikely will I return again. There are too many other places that care about customer satisfaction. read more

We have been here many times. It is okay. The specials never change. The boards have been the same for months. It is good if you want a skillet Or something along those lines. Our service is usually pretty good. They definitely do not have the extras. No sour cream for your omelette. My husband's pancakes are usually cold. He will no longer go here with me. My mom and I still pop in. I will note that my omelets are usually way underdone but if I get something like a skillet it's usually really good. It is a basic diner experience. They do not have any iced coffee or anything like that, but the waitress always makes it right with me. I see room for improvement. read more
