About a year ago, I was considering purchasing a condo in Cambridge. Josh kept in regular contact with me and constantly updated me with new places on the market that fit my criteria. He never sent me an annoying email like: "Hey, I know you want to live near Central Square and need parking and want a two bedroom, but here's a one bedroom in Somerville without parking that I thought might interest you." A few times, he even picked me up, drove me to see places, and then dropped me right back at my apartment. He clearly knows a lot of about the real estate industry, because he was able to ask the seller's agent questions that I would never have thought of. Questions that really informed my decision on whether to make an offer. But most importantly, unlike other realtors, he never once tried to push a condo on me so he could get his commission. He was always honest about places we saw, often saying that he didn't think a condo was "right for me" before even hearing what I thought about the place. This is in complete contrast to the realtor I worked with before Josh who, no matter how awful a place was, would instantly say as we walked out the door: "You should definitely put an offer in, because a place like this won't last on the market." I wouldn't put an offer in, and months later, the price would have dropped significantly and the condo would still be sitting on the market. Imagine losing tens of thousands of dollars because your realtor convinced you to put an offer in on a substandard place? I would not recommend their services. I hired Land Mapping to complete property staking. The only…read moredocuments they provided were ones I could and have obtained from Registry of Deeds. They did not provide any unique "calculations." I have some questions about how the survey was conducted and information that was said to me. A separate survey crew hired by a neighbor came by the day after our property was staked. They used the markers on our property for a neighbor on the other side of our street-- they asked me who did our staking. It's close enough for building flower beds along the property, but I will use a different company in the future for establishing property lines.
