We set up an appointment to have an estimate given on my parents' old house. The time came and went, with no one showing up. Paul called to find out what was happening, and they informed us that they needed an estimator to come and look. They set an appointment for Saturday. Paul waited, no one showed. Again. When he called he was told they didn't know why the guy was scheduled on a Saturday. Suffice it to say, there was no communication, none of the things we needed checked got looked at, and my husband wasted two vacation days waiting for their arrival. If you can find someone better or more reliable, that would be a good idea. read more

**BEWARE** Shady business practices. I called this company because they were working on another house in my neighborhood. Big mistake, very shady business. I had an Ihn worker come out for a sump pump discharge issue. The worker was fine, did his job for 2.5 hours and didn't have the proper equipment to finish snaking an exterior pipe. That's fine, he said he would come back the next day with proper equipment. How he showed up without the necessary tools is a mystery, unless this is how they game the system for additional work hours. A different worker shows up the next day to finish the job, which is snaking another 40 feet or so. Not long after the worker shows he asks "I don't know if anyone from the office called you about the "bill". I got a call from Matt in the office this morning but no mention of the bill on the voicemail. The worker says the bill will be a little over $1500! I called Matt in the offfice to see what the heck this is about, the previous worker was here for 2.5 hours yesterday and the remaining snke job shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes tops. Matt claims their hourly is $200, how are they getting $1500 from 2.5 hours of work? That's a lot of money in addon's and service call. I asked Matt to break down the bill, he couldn't and said he would have to speak to a supervisor. Great! Can I have this supervisor's name and number so I can call and deal with this myself? Matt says no, I cannot give out personal names and numbers! What? I'm not asking for his personal number, I'm asking for his work number at the business I'm calling that is trying to screw me. I had a leaking toilet on my second floor. I recently had the bathroom taken down to the studs and totally redone, electric, plumbing, floor, insulation, ceiling, shower, toilet, the works. I thought I had a leaking wax seal so I called Ihn yesterday. Lesa had Doug at my home at 8:00 AM today. Upon further investigation Doug determined there was a cracked PVC pipe coming from the toilet. The prior contractor forced the incorrect elbow, duct taped and caulked it, got paid and left. Today he is out of business. Thanks to Doug from Ihn Company, he evaluated the problem, had the correct parts on the truck and now I am back in business. Be careful choosing your contractors and get one that is experienced and does it right the first time. My bathroom remodel just got more expensive today because of a prior plumber that cut corners, used the wrong parts, forced things to the point of breaking, got paid and went on to the next job. That remodel did not come cheap and the one plumber that did schlock work has left me with ceiling repairs and water damage on top of the plumbing repairs. So, I wait for Karma to take care of him. I am grateful for the Ihn team that was accessible, prompt, courteous and efficient in fixing someone else's poor workmanship. Thank you all, much appreciated. Very dissapointed. I was recommended IHN by a "family friend" of the owner Jim. The work was half done, and my house was left a mess. There was old water splattered all over my stair well walls, wood shavings all over the basement including in my washing machine, on top of my dryer and in the sink between them. The technicians told me i didn't need a water softener and they removed mine "free of charge" so now i have no pipes to the water softener OR a water softener because they took the liberty (or laziness) of me not needing one in Brookfield which ive found out you definately do need one. In addition to that my quote said "to remove all galvanized piping from basement" which there was pieces pushed up and left in the cieling to hide them. in addition to that i still see 4 piece of galvanized pipe that have not been removed and replaced and 2 of them are now leaking. I am extremely disapointed and cannot recommend you waste your time. Lisa in the office was so nice and helpful dispite the absolute trainwreck following her. The owner himself denied my request to fix the work that they could not complete. So unless you want a half done job, by an owner who is not a man of his word and cannot stick to a contract i highly advice you stay far away from IHN Plumbing. read more

From the time Kurt Ihn stopped out to do an estimate on basement drain tile and glass block windows in our 1929 Wauwatosa Bungalow, to the time the crew left the experience was awesome. Everyone was friendly, hard-working, knowledgeable and ensured I was informed about all aspects of the process along the way. Such a great feeling when you can work with quality local companies, especially when you know they are busy with other customers. I never felt like I was just a number, I always felt like I was their top priority. Would highly recommend, and have already recommended to my next door neighbor for some work. Want to be taken advantage of and defrauded? This is the company for you!!! Called them because I saw some corrosion on the pipe under my sink. Tech showed up and told me he estimates $325. I figured this would be a bit of a time consuming job. 20 min later, he's done. Cut off and replaced 1/2 an inch of iron pipe with pvc. Did not bother to check a bit deeper into the wall to find that the corrosion on the visible part is the same behind the wall. When I called the office to ask why such a high charge for 20 min of work, I was told "we sent you a tech the same day". Right, because he was working another job right down the street. Even with a service charge and min 1 hour, you still can't get to $325. Did i mention I then had to have another plumbing company out to actually do the job this company didn't?? Awful communication, awful owner who will verbally berate you on an ego trip. Had this company replace my drain tile and sump pump in November of 2022. At the time of completion, work was sloppy and rushed (the actual workers themselves are all sub contracted and will cut corners). Our drywall was smashed out where they said they could go underneath and told me that wasn't their problem and left an exposed open pvc pipe running to the outside, providing a highway for air and bugs to enter my home. This was remedied after many weeks of unresponsiveness. The cherry on top is that, at the first rain we received in late winter, I realized that the sump pump they installed wasn't able to keep up with the water flowing into my crock. Had I not been home with an extra submersible pump, my basement would have flooded. I later come to find out that this sump pump they installed was a smaller one that I had originally in my crock! I attempted to contact IHN numerous times over the span of 3 months. The woman at the desk plays the useful fool and will give you a runaround about how she will relay your message to the work crews, but that won't happen unless you hound them! I never received a call or email from IHN that I did not initiate (except when they wrongly accused me of not paying when they simply deposited my check into one of their different accounts due to their own incompetence). Eventually after three months I was able to speak to the owner, Jim, who was nothing short of a senile asshole. His own employee at the front desk even said, "I dont want to put you through to him because he is cranky" on multiple occasions, what a way to run your business. He berated me and shouted me down for 10 minutes on the phone, refusing to address a single thing I brought up, on the basis of "I did the work 6 months ago". He then hung up on me. All I wanted was to have the original size sump pump I had before the work installed. This company will not stand behind their work. They have been involved in our 50 lawsuits over the past decade. This is just standard operating procedure for them. The owner is a despicable cowardly man who cannot tolerate the slightest request to make work right. No wonder they're so involved with the legal system. Avoid if possible. read more

We had a collapsed sewage pipe that was causing a backup in our basement, we called Ihn plumbing, and they were out to the house within a couple hours and had the problem diagnosed fixed quickly. Pricing was reasonable, and Mike and Annie were fantastic to work with. Would definitely recommend them for any plumbing job you have. read more

LONG REVIEW: Quick summary - they got me in quick but the quality and mess/damage left behind assures I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. First, I will say that Ihn was pretty quick to get me fit in their schedule - that was great and very much appreciated...HOWEVER... upon arriving to do drain tile work in my basemet, which we had an agreement drafted that I had signed - Kurt came out to check in and mentioned that the sump pump should really be replaced. I said, "yes, as stated in the agreement we had" which he tried to tell me wasn't included. I then showed him the agreement I had sent back to him, that had those things all checked off. He said they "shouldn't have been checked but ok" and included them....(failure to pay attention to detail on your part, not mine by the way). There was an interior wall in the path of the new drain tile, and I specifically asked if they would need me to remove any bits of the drywall or wall, and Kurt told me no, that they would be able to go "under" the wall. They went through the wall, cutting the drywall and removing a stud/bottom plate portion. Then, my flooring in the basement, I had pulled up what I thought would be enough for them to work around...figuring if the rest would be in their way they would say something. They didnt...and proceeded to scratch and scuff my flooring up so badly that I can't repair it, I will have to replace those portions entirely now. Lastly, the interior wall that runs down in line with the drain tile, they (in a very sh**** manner) cut the drywall and removed the bottom plate so I have to re-do the entire wall now. I have sent pictures to a few plumber friends/drywall friends, and they all agree they would have NEVER left someones house that way. Not to mention the cleanup attempt was pretty much nothing. I emailed Kurt and thanked them for the prompt service, but also expained my frustration as I have spelled out here, and have received no response or partial refund as I requested - to cover the floor and drywall repair. What else is funny is when I received my copy of the paperwork, THEN there was a part on it saying "Restoration to be completed by others". SO YOU GUYS KNEW YOU WERE TRASHING THE PLACE...thanks for that. All in all, if you want relatively quick service ,call them. If you want a quality job, call someone else. read more

Not sure I could have had a better experience with the IHN company. They installed an egress window, rebuilt my sump pump crock, installed new drain tile, support beams where needed, moved my radon system and installed the rough plumbing for my future bathroom in the finished basement. The men were punctual, respectful and knowledgeable about many different aspects of my finished basement. I had several bids but having the IHN company provide many aspects was why I picked them. Sure glad I did. I hope that the rest of the contractors conduct business as this company has. read more

When I make an appointment for 8am, and the technician is pulling into my driveway at 7:50, that's a great start! They found an issue with a part that I thought would require a second visit, but they were able to fix it in one trip and explained to me exactly what was wrong and repaired it properly. We are currently in the middle of a quoted 4 day jon for a foundation and basement repair with Ihn Company. I may update this review once the job is done, but thus far I'm VERY disappointed in the service we've received. Our job: drain tile install, sump pump install and bracing of walls in our basement. Quite a pricy job. For the amount of money we are paying we are getting horrid services. In the 4 weeks leading up to the job we had to call twice to confirm date and time as well as get information of what needed to be moved in the basement before work began. Arrival on day one was scheduled between 8 and 8:30 and the crew arrived around 9:15 am with no call. My husband was stuck waiting for them to show them to the basement as well as give them a key to the house and show them where the lock box was. I do have to say, it looked like good progress on day one. Day two: No call, no show. No additional work done and materials were in the exact same spot as the previous day. I left a message after hours on their general voice mail asking for a call back first thing in the AM (it's now 10 am and I've yet to hear a peep out of them). Day three: Call from the crew. The code to the lock box doesn't work. "Oh wait, we wrote it down wrong". Apparently work continues. Meanwhine, we have a newborn at home and were hoping this job would be done in 4 days because she's going to be home Thursday and Friday. Dust and noise don't mix well with babies, so if this job gets dragged out I'm going to be FUMING mad. Further updates to come, but I have absolutely no faith in this company and the lackluster communication thus far as done nothing but frustrate and upset both my husband and me. We had The Ihn company out for an estimate and ultimately to do foundation repairs on our home. We could not possibly be more satisfied with the quality, quantity and price of the work performed. The crew was always at our home when they said they would be, they performed the work neatly and cleaned up as best as possible each night and did an outstanding clean-up at the end of the job. The work passed City of Milwaukee inspection- and I'm certain the repairs will last for generations. Our job was not an easy one, it had its share of complications- and our underground sprinkler system was intact and our lawn was not in bad shape after 5 days of heavy machine and foot traffic. TERRIBLE! They came right away for my quote. Once I signed the contract, it was almost like I didn't matter. They showed up when they wanted. Would cancel appointments when we were trying to do status updates. The main guy, JIM, would yell at the carpenters, electricians and dry wall guys, and swear in front of my children. They never seemed like they knew when things would be done - always push the timeline back - but always ask for money. he subcontracted everything else aside from the plumbing. There are huge gaps in my floor molding. My boiler went out shortly after the project was done - likely because of the dust, which might I add ended up all over the house, even in the upstairs! Plumbing was okay, I would not recommend any renovations'. Seems like he bit off more than he could chew with my project. read more

Worst Experience Every! I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy. The owner is an awful human that just yells at you when you question when they plan on finishing up the job. For a job that should take only a few days took weeks for them to finish because they would come when they felt like it. The whole experience was something like a nightmare. They managed to break up more of my patio which then I had to pay for them to have it fixed. There was nails all over my driveway and yard which I have two young kids and a dog which could have easily stepped on. They cherry on top of this F'd up sundae was the day I came home to a front end loader that leaked parked in my driveway and no one around. It sat there for a few days till I called and told them to remove it otherwise I would.The quality of work looks like something a child did. I think they managed to break anything they came in contact with and the pipe they had to replace well that leaks and I refuse to let those idiots back into my house. If I could I wouldn't have left them with one star it would be none. Stay away from them I did find out that they were doing business in West Allis but had to leave that area cause they were so horrible and couldn't get anymore business. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! First, they never showed for their first appointment, nor the rescheduled and then the next rescheduled! I wanted to ensure I was home when the outside foundation work was to be done. They came on an unscheduled day, preformed the WRONG work, when I was gone! After I realized skid steer tracks in my yard, I first realized they had worked that day and discovered the entirely wrong work done! After demanding the correct work be done or a full refund, Jim quickly stated "call a lawyer" and hung up on me! Mind you, I'm at a loss of $4,000. The work was paid in advance. A big mistake on my end. Fun Fact: After contacting a lawyer, it is shown that IHN has been in over 50 lawsuits! This makes sense to why he was so quick to tell me to lawyer up! After a friend referred me to Ihn Company, I decided to give them a call. I felt the quote was very reasonable so I went with it. On the day of installing the beams on my basement walls, they were very quick to begin and finish the job. Also at the same time had a toilet installed in the basement. All went well and very fast. My basement no longer has the odor coming from it that it did. I am happy I finally had the work done and before it was too late. I had a great experience with IHN. A clog in the pipes had burst a joint in the basement where my kitchen, bathroom, and stationary tub all came together. Basically, the house was out of commission. I called on a Saturday AM, Jim was there within 90 minutes, and everything was fixed and cleaned up within two hours. He even helped me install a new stationary tub that I opted to buy, including mounting it to the basement floor. Given the time, speed, and quality of the work, I believe the prices were reasonable as well. They're definitely my go-to the next time I need plumbing work done.
