Imperial Treasure is absolutely one of THE BEST Asian cuisine restaurants in the Triad area, without a doubt! The Dim Sum is fantastic! lots of options, everything perfectly prepared and presented. We ordered the sesame balls with red bean paste, spicy dumplings, crab Rangoon, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and steamed crystal shrimp dumplings, pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings, and the sticky rice with chicken. Each choice as fresh, perfectly prepared, and tasted fantastic. There were 3 of us and we all ate well and had plenty of leftovers, which is always nice. And the best part was the cost of this feast. It was significantly lower than meals I have had at other Asian restaurants whose prices were much higher, food wasn't as well prepared and gave you much smaller portions. Our server, Ana, was wonderful. She even taught me how to use chopsticks properly. Loved her! The Manager, Tom, was also great! The place was very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. Went here for a group dinner over the weekend. When walking in, it looked clean and was nicely decorated. There was no one there to really greet me so walked over to the table where group that I was meeting was. With over 20 people in the group, the restaurant was able to accommodate nicely with service being very good with timely drink refills. For the food, it was ok, I wouldn't say that it was the best Chinese food I've ever ate. I've had better at cheaper places. For the price, the food wasn't worth what was charged. I ordered beef and vegetables which did not include rice that was charged separately. The beef slices were thin and found bone in one piece after I tasted and spit out; vegetables were tasty. Rice tasted very dry and wasn't sticky and moist. I'm glad that I tried but found the food to be very expensive especially since it was just okay. But I don't think I would visit again. read more

I'm sorry, but I will not be back. I used to like the Imperial Treasure quite a lot, but it has gradually gone downhill. And today was the worst. The water glasses were dirty. I'm not surprised. Their health score is a 90. (For reference, a health inspector once shared that he never eats at places below a 95.) Second, all the food tasted a bit off. Maybe they offload their older products at lunch? But the chicken didn't taste fresh, the dumplings left a bad pork aftertaste in my mouth, and the beef skewers smelled like lamb. The only reason why I'm giving them three stars is because nothing was disgusting/inedible, but I definitely didn't enjoy my meal. That's upsetting because I spent a lot of money. What's also really sad is that I used to think this place was great, but I think they stopped caring. Maybe they sent all their best people to their other newer location? All I know is that they charge a lot, they have a 90 health rating, and the food is no longer what it used to be. read more

Great Service as we entered and immediately got seated at 6:45 pm. My wife liked the modern decor & I liked the little private seating for 4 alcoves which was perfect. I ordered the "triple sizzling low mien". Which had chicken, generous scrimp and beef wonderful taste. My wife had the chicken & vegetables with white rice. We also had the chicken dumpling soup. They make everything fresh, and you can even watch the staff hand-rolling dumplings right in front of you--it really shows how much pride they put into their craft. We came with a large group, and the service was great. The staff was patient, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. The rest of the food was great too, and the overall experience made this spot an easy favorite. I'd definitely come back from time to time. I was doing errands near Matthews, so stopped in for a super-late lunch, around 3 pm... First of all, the place was very nice. Loved the space, with plenty of seatings. It could have used some overhead music though. I also loved the pictured menu...though it was disappointing that Dim Sum was not provided in carts. I figured I'd do Dim Sum on a weekend with my family or friends, so I just ordered Singapore Noodle with Scallion Pancake for my first time here. The foods arrived fairly quickly...but here's where things went wrong. The Singapore Noodle was just WRONG. There were only about 3 shrimps...and the rest were these chunky, crudely cut SAUSAGES in its place! WHAT?!? Also, the noodle was soggy. Frankly, I was shocked that a place as nice as this delivered such a cheap version of Singapore Noodle! I had to point out the abundance of gross SAUSAGES in this plate (instead of the Shrimp and perhaps other veggies even??). Well, she brought the issue up with the kitchen...and I was given a 30% discount. Sadly, even that didn't feel fair...as I absolutely hated this dish, and ended up not eating most of it. What I got was NOT Singapore Noodle...but some cheap variation of it. Again, made mostly of these gross SAUSAGES. Possibly the worst version of Singapore Noodle I've ever had...and this includes all of those cheap take-out places! Both the waitress and the Manager was nice about it...but frankly, I felt it should have been taken off my bill altogether. The Manager mentioned that the kitchen was out of ingredients (or something to that effect...I couldn't understand him fully). I wish they would have let me know that when I placed the order, and I would have gladly ordered something else. Again, I appreciate the discount...but I still felt ripped. I was only able to down maybe 10% of the meal. It was terrible. On a better note, the Scallion Pancakes were good...although I prefer them a bit thinner. Honestly, I was positive that I'd love this place...but the foods basically convinced me otherwise. All I know is that I definitely will not be ordering Singapore Noodle from them again. I don't want to judge the restaurant on this 1 bad dish, so maybe I'll like them better on my future visit? Hopefully I can upgrade my ratings if-when I return to try something different. What a delight! This new dim sum place is in a word delicious. The interior is cool and hip. We arrived early before the lunch rush and we're happy that we did. The food options are tremendous, the service was very good and the food was hot, fresh and made to order. We asked the manager about food carts which I have seen at other dim sum restaurants but they probably will not have them there as they are very concerned about the quality of their food and don't want something to sit for too long and not be as good as it should be. I respect that. We had five different types of dim sum and all were pretty tasty. The soup dumplings were awesome as was the beef pancake which was crispy and filled with beefy goodness. read more

I would think twice about trying this restaurant and confused as to how they have a 4.5 rating. To start the restaurant was not busy, the floor below our table was very sticky, and the table was not fully set (missing silverware, napkins, etc.). Though we ordered a couple appetizers to start my entree was served before any other food arrived - then my friend's entree and then the appetizers. The eggrolls were actually cold. Two appetizers were tasty however both our entrees were poor. I had kung pao chicken which was prepared with chicken that was of the poorest quality and in a sauce that had a glue-like consistency and little to no flavor. Our waiter, Taylor did an excellent job explaining some of the Dim Sum options. We went with some of our previous favorites, the Shrimp Shiu Mi, the Har How and Char Siu Bao. Excited to have a restaurant here in CLT that offers dim sum. To preface, heard from family and friends that the service was not up to par when they recently came to try them out but this time around everything came out fast and efficient. Our server Taylor was great and made our experience better. When I say, everything we tried was delicious... I liked everything that came out. The king shrimp shumai is definitely a favorite of mine. We ordered spicy dumplings, soup dumplings, chicken feet, spare ribs, and a full order of the roasted duck. The duck entree came with another dish that was highly recommended, as well as some scallion pancake 'wraps'. These can be eaten and wrapped with the duck. It comes with a side of julienne cut cucumbers and green onions (scallions). As well as sauce (hoisin). This was actually quite tasty with the duck, even though I've never ate with it before. A lot of the bad reviews are usually, they went out of items or waiting for too long. Well guys it is opening time, they are not going to be perfect. This review is mix of three times that I went. First this place is pretty, the decor is awesome. They have some round tables for big families and looks like private room for party. It has a very welcoming feel. Also they have great choice on their dishes, plates, and cups. It looks great and made with plastic that it is easy to pick up to share food. Then the services also amazing, the last three times that I was there, the service was excellent, the staff cares about their job and talks to everyone very nicely. I also like that they have iPad to put in the order, makes it fast and simple. The food also tastes excellent. I enjoyed their Soup dumplings and mostly their Dim Sum dishes. One of the times that I went here was during the Christmas holiday, they were really busy, I can tell that the restaurant didn't have enough time to marinate the meat, if it was marinated longer it would has better taste. Lastly I made reservations for this place two times, both times it was on point and the front desk staff took great care of us. Yum!! A delicious dim sum in Charlotte? I've been waiting for years. We came in and there were about 6 parties ahead of us. We did ask to sit at the bar and we got seated soon after! It's not the cart style dim sum that I've been used to growing up in Vegas, but you order from the menu and they make it all to order. The place is so clean and smells great. Bathroom is also clean! The food was all delicious! It took a bit to come out, but if they're making them all fresh, I'm okay with this! We got the green beans, pork steamed buns, pork soup dumpling, shrimp shu mai, shrimp rice long noodle (I can't remember the name!), beef in black bean, and sesame balls. 7 dishes for less than $80! Today was my first time coming here and it is still their soft opening period. They do not have the dim sum carts yet but will have them once they officially open. The place was open, very nicely lit, clean, and had a good amount of seating options. For a party of 2 we ordered many of the quintessential tapas. Everything was made fresh and was hot off the stove. I really enjoyed the seasoning of the foods and their own spins on classics. We especially loved the lava bao bun! The service was great and the food came out as it was cooked. We even got a treat on the house which was lovely. It's a little pricy, but it's a pretty good dim sum option for the area! Super excited that a new dimsum restaurant is opening up in Matthews! Since we came on their grand opening weekend, they're still trying to figure out their flow, so expect slow service. When coming in, make sure to scan the QR code at the hostess counter to get put on the waitlist. We started off with the hot tea and it took forever for them to get hot water and even when it did come out, it was lukewarm but the second pot was hot. Overall, taste for all food dishes was delicious! I loved the chili oil, which was also spicy and flavorful. I will return when they get all situated and they bring out the carts, which they said will be in two weeks. As of right now, they're only doing ordering service. The Imperial Treasure is a great Dim Sum spot! On my first visit, the table tried the salt and pepper tofu, spicy wontons, and pork soup dumplings. The tofu was delicious, light, and paired well with a little of the table soy sauce and chili oil. The spicy wontons had great flavor and texture, but the pork soup dumplings were perfect. He was on the phone, but he still helped me out promptly. As per the food... It wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I wanted this to be tied with the only 2 other good Chinese places in town (Cherry Blossom/taste of Shu and Lam's Kitchen). I blame me for what I ordered though, not them. I need to go back and I need to do it soon. I want pork soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, beef short ribs, Chinese eggplant in garlic sauce, beef with jalapeno, braised pork belly in a clay pot, lamb with cumin, all the fish dishes, XO sauce chow fun, and some duck. It has been a while since Charlotte has seen a full service dim sum restaurant, so I was excited to check this place out. The Imperial Treasure opened up a few months ago and offers dim sum and other Chinese food. There is a really modern and clean ambiance inside of the restaurant. I also really like the wall art and decor. There is an area near the front of the restaurant where you can watch some staff make pastries in real time through a glass window, which is pretty cool. It can get busy during typical popular dim sum hours, so just be mindful when you come here with a large party. My server was also really friendly and nice! There are so many options to choose from on their menu. They have dim sum and regular Chinese food. My friends and I ordered a lot! Mostly from the dim sum menu as that was what we wanted. The food arrived in staggered times as expected, but it did not take as long as I thought it would with the amount that we ordered. We got the Crab & Pork Soup Dumpling, Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce, Dry Sautéed Green Bean, Scallion Pancake, Beef Chow Fun, Hong Kong Egg Tart, Rainbow Boiled Dumpling, Steamed Crystal Shrimp Dumpling, Honey Glazed Char Siu, and Black Golden Lava Custard Bun. I will say that I did not see a dim sum cart when we went (around lunch time on a Sunday). The Dry Sautéed Green Bean could have been cooked a bit longer as I thought that most of the green beans were still a bit too firm and I prefer Chinese style green beans to be cooked more thoroughly so that it looks almost shriveled, haha. I think that the green beans could have had more sauce on them as the sauce was mostly at the bottom, but overall, that dish was not bad. I love chicken feet, but I did not think that their Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce were marinated in the black bean sauce long enough. The Scallion Pancake was different than the ones that are usually at Chinese restaurants. These pancakes were thicker and fluffier, unlike the usual thin size of scallion panes. It also tasted a bit undercooked inside and I think there should have been more scallions, but I was able to eat it. I liked their Beef Chow Fun; however, it was not seasoned enough for me so I had to add soy sauce and chili oil to the dish to make it taste better. I thought that their Steamed Crystal Shrimp Dumpling was fine, as well as their Hong Kong Egg Tart, although the egg custard itself was more flan-like than I expected. My friends ate the dumplings, which they thought needed more flavor, specifically in the Rainbow Boiled Dumpling. They also liked the Honey Glazed Char Siu, but noted that it tasted a bit greasy. I would say that the best dish for my friends and I was the Black Golden Lava Custard Bun. Not only was this an aesthetic dessert, but the custard inside was salty, sweet, and runny (hence the word "lava" in the name of the fish) and the bun itself was soft. It was perfect to eat and definitely the highlight of my visit here. Obviously, people have different preferences for how they prefer their food to taste and I can see that a lot of people like this place so far, so please take my review with a grain of salt. In reality, I would give this place a 3.5/5. I would say that the dishes here were just fine enough, but there could be more seasoning and flavor to better the food. I think that this place can definitely improve in the future! Also, another option for dim sum that is not necessarily close but definitely a feasible drive from Charlotte is going to Atlanta. So, a couple of weeks back I tried coming here on a Sunday around lunch time and of course there was a wait. They told us 40 minutes or so and we were about 20th in line. I wish there was a way to check in before you got to the place. But instead you can only get on the waitlist when you get there. They need a better system for busier time. The inside is beautiful. Love the koi dishes on the ceiling. The table decoration and bright lighting is also awesome. So pretty. I like the area where you can see the workers making the dumplings in the front. The food was decent. My most favorite was probably the chicken feet. Shumai was too big, I like it better when the shrimp are smaller pieces. The congee want the best, it needed salt and pepper and it was bland. The veggies with tofu was good, flavorful. Portion was decent too. Parking , they share parking with other businesses. can be hard to find if it's busy time. The stuff are nice and informative. Nothing else to complain. White lights at night are too harsh which makes it unenjoyable. Maybe it works during the daytime but not at night especially for customers wearing eyeglasses. The kitchen was so slow that we cancelled the last dish. The main dish we ordered was fried diced chicken n it was just fried breadedness which I couldn't even distinguish any chicken in it.
