First time ever giving a two star review First time in my life waiting almost TWO WHOLE HOURS for food. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ‼‼‼ I almost never complain (I leave good honest reviews all the time) but omg... this place almost ruined our valentine's/anniversary. Food was good but it was not worth 2 hours of waiting good. TIMELINE: Our reservation was at 7:30, we got there 7:45 and didn't get seated until 8:00. That's fine. However, they put us in a corner right by the door (freezing cold every time someone walks in) and left us by ourselves for 30 minutes. No one came to check in on us, we didn't even get water cups for our water. After finally ordering at 8:30, we proceed to spend the next HOUR waiting--neither of our 2 appetizers came, our drinks didn't come, and no one came to check in on us. One hour came and went. It's 10PM and our curry finally arrives. At that point, we're so hungry we just devour it. We save space for our appetizers (which hasn't come yet), guess what--they never put our order in! (See Server Section) We sit around, twiddling our thumbs. 10:30PM. Nothing. 11:00PM. Alright, let's just get our checks and leave. MANAGEMENT 0/5 The restaurant was fully booked since it was valentine's day and they couldn't even take walk-in's. It's totally understandable that a business is busy and unable to accommodate stuff like that but it is also up to management to properly staff their restaurant to anticipate large crowds ESPECIALLY when reservations were made ahead of time. They should have a good understanding of how many guests will be dining that night and take the proper steps to fully staff their restaurant. SERVER 3/5 This is not on the servers, I understand they were busy and it's hard for them to check up all the time. They were apologetic and gave us a dessert of gulab jamun (which was way too sweet). HOWEVER, the waitress took down my order by memory and I was skeptical to this since there were quite a few things but my boyfriend assured me that this was the way they did it in India. Guess what? Ended up forgetting to write down one of my dishes--another dish never even came. And the kicker, we had to FLAG people down by poking our heads out of our little crawl space ANY TIME we needed service, it felt barbaric. I understand the servers are probably overwhelmed but there's a lot that can be improved on all around the table. This was really not good. FOOD 4/5 It was good food, I will give that to them. The other food probably would've been good too if we got the chance to eat it. 2 stars--1 for the nice servers (trying their best, I know) and 1 for the food.

good mixture of food, it was all quite good, but nothing stood out as amazing

Worth going to but I'm not sure I'd go back. That said I have a pretty high bar for Indian food given how frequently I eat it. We ordered a variety of dishes including some paneer masala, saag paneer, chicken korma, among others. I would say all the dishes were good, but I'm not sure anything was unique or like especially good. Service was good but we did wait quite some time for our food - not the service fault but the kitchen. It was busy but not packed by any means. I might try it again and it's definitely worth a first try, but at the same time I've had better Indian too.

I've been here a couple of times before and thought it was okay. I was disappointed by my most recent visit. We were looking for somewhere to eat at 9 on a Monday evening and stopped by here as they are open until 2 everyday. There were a couple of other tables eating but it was pretty quiet overall. Bricklane is conveniently located near to the Grove St PATH. The space is nicely decorated and the servers are pleasant and as mentioned they are open late. We were given a complimentary demi- tasse cup of tomato soup and poppadoms with chutney which was a nice touch. We ordered the Chicken Shish Kebab, Lamb Biriani and a Garlic Naan. Chicken Shish Kebab was more like kofta and came hidden beneath a pile of chopped cabbage. The portion was small and the seasoning was unevenly distributed so one bite was bland and the other was fiery hot. Biriani had the same uneven distribution of spice and was again on the small side portion wise. Presentation was lacking, there were none of the usual nuts etc on top and a whole hard boiled egg complete with grey ring around the yolk was buried in the middle of the rice. The lamb was tender but there was not much of it. Naan Bread was on the smaller side and was thin and crispy rather than being pillowy, soft and fluffy. We were given a complimentary dessert of Carrot Halva. The extras were a nice but unnecessary touch (there was also a bowl of 'curry sauce' that tasted like Tilka Masala or Bitter Chicken sauce given to us with the mains) I would rather have had more generous portions and better presentation. I'd say that the spice level was higher than in other local Indian restaurants. I don't have a problem that but it's definitely more of a UK rather than USA spice level so that's something to look out for. With one beer, tax and tip we paid a little under $100 for a quick curry for two. I think it's very overpriced for what it is and won't revisit. I'm reply to the business owners comments I wish to say that I realize that i can pay close to $100 for dinner in JC but we had one beer, one bread, and two entrees that were small. The food was overpriced for what it was, the quality and nuanced flavors were missing.

As a hungry vegetarian, I was very pleased to come here for Easter brunch. OMG, I am in heaven and we ordered from the buffet meal available only on weekends. High level * Price is right!!! You get so much for the price including naan!! * Food is so fresh. * Made on the spot - these little appetizers - are delicious! * It includes Chai as well. LOVE IT. * My friend had the flesh dishes and he ate it all. * We got a little mint at the end with our receipt. * The Gulab was delicious - these are these tiny little carb balls in syrup. * Service was attentive. I am looking forward to coming back here when I am not dieting.

The food was delicious! We got the Maya's Paneer and Vegetable Biryani with garlic naan. The drinks were good too! The only strange thing was it too a really long time to get the drinks. They came after our entrees arrived. Everything else was great!

We have been coming/ordering from Brick Lane for a while because it's consistently delicious. They recently added a brunch buffet from 12-4 on weekends and omg. The menu changes every week--today the theme was Guri Padwa. At least half the buffet options are vegetarian. There is self-serve masala chai, and ample salad ingredients. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. We always have a great time and will definitely keep coming back.

My friends and I made a pretty late reservation but we were able to get seated as soon as we arrived! The food and drinks were amazing overall and the ambiance was great as it was not too loud. They gave us free papad to start with and free kheer to end our dinner. The mango mastani cocktail I had was amazing, the cheese naan was really good and my first time trying chicken bhuna was unforgettable.

We went to Bricklane for a birthday celebration. We started with Samosa Chaat, the best I've had since visiting India. I had lamb shank roganjosh that was spicy, savory, and delicious. We ordered roti, which was just perfect. The service was kind and attentive. The restaurant is cozy, comfortable, and pretty. It's easily accessible from the Grove Street PATH station.

Okay spot. Tikka was good, sweeter side but enjoyable. the beginning complimentary apps were good. Would skip the biryani, it was nothing to write home about. big portion though. Service took a while considering it was empty, but they were kind none the less.

5-star experience always! The decor is beautiful and their bar menu is incredible. Lychee martini is made perfectly and chicken tikka masala is out of this world. The owners are so friendly and outgoing. The best Indian food you'll ever haven't

After an hour of waiting for our food, the three tables around us who arrived after us already got their food and were nearly done with their meal. We ask about this twice, and each time the owner says all three tables "pre-ordered" their food. I was confused and asked every table if this was true and obviously it was not. Before leaving, we confront the owner about the inconsistencies in his story, but he just double downs on his lie, alleging that we don't understand how a restaurant is run. For some reason, he even started to yell at the busgirl who was trying to get him to apologize? In addition to holding us hostage for an hour and continued lying, he tries to make the racist point that Indian food is more sophisticated and takes longer to prepare than other types of Asian food. I feel there are certain standards in the NYC service industry given the competition, and this was a confusing and unacceptable experience. The food was admittedly good, but not good enough for them to have the attitude they had.

Amritsari Chole Tikka Murgh malai tikka Mutton sukka with butter naan and garlic naan Achari chicken with basmati rice Rabdi with lychee. Everything was beautifully presented and had so much flavor. The butter naan and mutton were some of my favorites. I am not someone that can handle a lot of spice and I found the food very spicy but I had to eat it because it was so good. My friends are Asian and seemed fine with the spice level. The rabdi dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. This was so creamy and delicious. I would return just for this dessert alone. The only shortcoming were the drinks. They looked very cool but the flavors were just not good. The delicious food and ambiance made up for the drinks. However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!
