Wow! I'm so happy to find such an amazing restaurant a block away from my building. The quality of the food is fantastic, fresh and prepared to perfection. I had some chicken curry, garlic nan, and a mango drink. All of it was amazing. My dinner date had tandoori salmon. I had a taste, and it was even better than my food which is hard to imagine. Mughlai Grill is my favorite Indian restaurant in the city, but haven't been to Mughlai in two years, so I was curious if anything changed. We were walk-ins and although there were quite a few parties in the restaurant, we were able to be seated immediately. The staff were nice and attentive and gave us pretty good recommendations! To start we shared the Vegetable Pakora and oh my gosh it was so crispy and seasoned perfectly! That got us so excited for the rest of the food. For our entrees we ended up on Lamb, and the staff recommended the Achar Gosht and the Kadai Gosht. Both were so good! Lamb was tender, it was overall super filling and paired well with the aloo paratha! I can't wait to eat my leftovers! Mughlai Grill is even better than I remember and I can't wait to come back! Yummy!! I was craving lamb chops and this place had great reviews so i decided to try it. We started off with a complimentary basket of papad which was tasty and properly cooked. Sometimes i've gotten them either stale or undercooked at places. Then we ordered the green salad. The salad was pretty large and had lettuce, tomatoes and tons of carrots. It was fresh though i want not crazy about the dressing. It tasted like kraft italian. I asked for some chat masala and then helped the tasted a good bit. For the main course we ordered two of the lamb chop dinner. It came with rice and we ordered bread as well. We could easily have shared just one order. There was plenty of food. The lamb came with some yummy onions and peppers. I ordered mine spicy and it was so delicious!!! Service here is extremely attentive and so friendly. My boyfriend and I stopped into this place last-minute before going to a comedy show close by and I am so glad we did. The food was delicious and really reasonably priced (ordered dall sagg, goat curry, garlic naan). Food also came out quickly. Also the owner was so lovely, we chatted for a little bit and then at the end he gave us a complementary dessert which was so kind and unexpected (and it was really good). Solid spot for Indian food! It's a cozy and relatively quiet space with great service. Two of us walked in on a weekday evening and had no trouble getting a table. We weren't particularly hungry so we only ordered a few plates. The dahi batata poori was a great starter - 5 or 6 pieces loaded with yogurt and chutney. The chicken tikka masala (comes with rice) was delicious and the garlic naan was buttery and warm. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive, and ran after me when I left something behind. We thoroughly enjoyed the sofiyani biryani and the vegetarian lunch box. The latter is an excellent deal and included a delicious creamy tomato-based tikka masala, an appetizer of the bhel puri, naan, lentil daal, and raita. The sofiyani was new to us. A Hyderabadi-styled dish, it included chunks of chicken with a flavorful blend of spices. The portion was sizeable, and actually both of these dishes were more than enough for two adults. This restaurant is a joke, we ordered goat curry and paneer makhani and roti. All rotis were undercooked, the goat meat was unbeatable and chewy like rubber with big bones. Came here around 5:30pm on a friday and we were the first ones in there. After we came was when everyone started to come in. This is my first time eating Indian food at a restaurant and I really loved the food! We got the chicken tikka masala, garlic nan, paneer, and biryani and where all good. I highly recommend getting their nans to dip into the flavorful sauces from the main dishes. I found everything good except the biryani. It wasn't bad but the next time I come here I would skip it. The dry spices in there were too strong for my liking. As for the service, all the workers were really nice and came often to check up on us and refill our waters.
