We've stayed at many bed-and-breakfast and Airbnb's but this was one of the best! The inn was conveniently situated, walkable to many restaurants and stores, decorated beautifully with comfy bed, and a sitting area w/lots of sunlight during the day. Loved the library and enjoyed her recommended reading of American Fire. (What a story!) The innkeeper, Kim, was very hospitable, warmly welcomed us as we arrived, prepared a cozy wine down time before we head out to the town. She gave us lots of recommendation for places to eat and things to do and all were fantastic! Her breakfast was scrumptious- yogurt, berries, homemade granolas, egg frittata, avo toast, amazing strawberry cream cheese French toast... She started us with a delicious cup of coffee each day (specially blended for the Inn by the local roaster) at our bedroom-so good that we bought 4 packages for our fam/friends! We'd love to come back and try Matt's boat ride tour and visit nearby Tangier and Smith Island when in season. read more

We really enjoyed staying at the Inn at Onancock. The main reason was Kim and her helpfulness and cooking skills. She was right there when we arrived to help with our bags. Our room was super comfortable and there was a small refrigerator down the hall with bottled water, next to the Keurig for tea and coffee. Kim thought of everything. Kim also does a happy hour with delicious appetizers and anything you'd like to drink. We were able to chat with Kim and the other guests while enjoying Kim's beautiful dog, Dante while he showed us his toys. Onancock is small so we were able to explore it by bike. The wharf had all we needed for kayaking. Having Mallards restaurant next door to the wharf was great for lunch. It's a very friendly town, and Kim and her husband Matt fit in perfectly. We will definitely come back and check out Tangier Island. read more

Kim has a 'wine' down hour which is a fun way to meet other guests and her breakfast is always a treat. Kim and Matt are wonderful inn keepers and make their guests feel like family. Matt and Kim are the perfect hosts for this quaint town and beautiful B&B. We traveled with our 30-pound dog, Rixey, who met their friendly dog, Dante. We stayed in the top floor room which is dog-friendly, spacious and well-appointed. Each room has a private bathroom. A tray with fresh coffee was placed outside our door every morning. Every evening at 5 pm, wine and hors d'oeuvres were shared together with our hosts and all the guests on the porch or patio. Breakfast each morning was amazingly delicious and filling. The B&B is located in the downtown area of Onancock with shops, restaurants and bars just steps away. Off street parking is available. A short walk to the harbor and you can rent bikes, kayaks or paddleboards. We had a lovely weekend and after meeting the other guests at Wine Down hour and breakfast, we feel we left the weekend with several more friends! read more

We spent two delightful nights at the Inn. The property is lovely and immaculate, the hosts take hospitality to a new level and the food at breakfast and at the nightly "Wine Down" was excellent. The hosts, Kim and Matt make you are a guest at an evening cocktail party and readily share their knowledge about things to see and do. In our opinion, the inn is a destination by itself. First of all Kim and Matt are really wonderful hosts. They are caring, considerate, and really enjoy what they do at the Inn and for the town! Second of all, this is by far the best B&B in which we have had the pleasure to stay. All of the breakfasts we enjoyed there were different, all great, and all very well prepared. The fruit dish each morning was so much appreciated and the coffee delivered at our door was an added touch. The Wine Down at 5 was also a great time to chat with the other guests and the hosts in a friendly and comfortable setting. We stayed in the Tuscany room which was very light and airy with a big bay window and a very comfortable bed. THE BEST B&B EVER. Warning: If you stay at a lot of B&Bs then the Inn at Onancock will ruin all other B&B experiences for you, as none will ever compare to this ranked number 1 location. The location which is in the heart of downtown and a two minute walk from everything great is a quaint old house with five quarters each with its own decorative charm and no short cuts. We stayed in the Tuscany Room and we were back in Italy each night. The house has plenty of room to roam, a library, a large living room, and a dining room just off the immense gourmet kitchen. There are three patios (one small one for the 24/7 owners) which each habe their own charm. Enjoying the nightly FREE Wine Down Time inclusive of your choice of magnificent wines (you will get tipsy) and eurderves made fresh by the GOURMET CHEF/OWNER will amaze your palet and astonish your experience level. Thus is no wine andncheease on crackers thus is a daily taste of something different every Time. We had bacon wrapped apricots, bacon wrapped pickles, avocado and cream cheese brischetta with citrus, and toasted pecans with a touch of heat.. to name just a few. Kim and Matt are your host and they provide d us with a weeks worth of itinery, making all the reservations for us at no extra charge... and not one bad recommendation... everything they told us to do and places to go and eateries to dine were amazing and beyond our expectations. Oh yeah.. BREAKFAST... to die for. You will not need to buy lunch that is for sure. These freshly cut fruits with hand whipped Greek yogurt and oats nuts honey and coconut with raisin add ins are just the starter course. Each day a newly freshley baked spice bread followed by a breakfast entree of European flair and full bodied taste unsurpassed at any price... and yet it is included. Save room because it all ends with a shortbread cookie plate that floats on air but still has a crunch. Juices and coffee and tea are of course there too. And outside your room there is 24/7 complimentary coffee, tea, and soda service with water in addition to the early morning room service beverage tray.. also included in your nightly cost. This is one of the more special inn's we have been to anywhere. We stayed in the Williamsburg room which was decadent. Your hosts Kim, Matt, and Dante ( the dog) were most gracious with their inviting hospitality. We had a 5 pm evening conversation wine hour coupled in the morning with a delightful breakfast prepared by our hosts. After many trips driving through the Eastern Shore, we decided to make a weekend visit. We selected The Inn at Onancock based on reviews and we were not disappointed. Onancock reminded us of the quaint New England seaside villages that we love. There were plenty of great restaurants and shops and all of the locals and business owners were very friendly. The inn was the epitome of gracious hospitality. The innkeepers Kim and Matt (and of course our 4 legged host, Dante) are the consummate hosts. The inn was beautifully and luxuriously decorated and there were large spaces with every amenity available for guests to enjoy by themselves or with other guests. We stayed in the Provence room that was outfitted with a gas fireplace and our bathroom included a claw foot tub and shower. The room was large and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the daily happy hour/snacks and conversation with the innkeepers and other guests. A coffee tray was delivered outside of our bedroom door each morning, to enjoy as we waited for breakfast. Kim served a delicious full breakfast in the dining room, complete with fresh baked muffins, fruit and entree. No detail was overlooked. By the end of our short weekend, we felt like we had been visiting with friends. We can't wait to return! read more

Where to start? Everything about our stay at the Inn was lovely. Lisa and Kris did everything possible to accommodate our needs, including letting us check in hours before our scheduled arrival. This allowed us to take one of the most epic naps in the history of naps. We highly recommend setting time aside to do this. After much deliberation, we chose the Provence Room. Luckily as the first guests to arrive that day, Lisa encouraged us to poke around all of the rooms and after doing so, we felt validated in our choice. Our other favorite was the Tuscany Room. The Maine room had nice decor, but it's up a couple of flights of stairs and was kind of stuffy when we ventured up there. The Provence Room was quaint and filled with light. They had a couple of French CDs in the armoire, which really set the mood. The large bathroom did not have a shower - just a tub, so that is important to note for those who care about having a shower. Also, all rooms had their own private bathrooms (some with showers, some with tubs) which was very convenient. Last thing about the room - the beds! So comfortable, with fluffy covers and exquisite pillows that make it oh so hard to wake up in time for breakfast at 8:30am. Speaking of breakfast, if anything was going to get us out of bed, it was the smell of coffee and warm homemade biscuits. My boyfriend and I snagged one of the only two sweetheart tables by the window. The other couples sat at a large communal table, so if you prefer your own table, make sure you come downstairs early. For breakfast, there was a selection of coffee, tea, and juice, as well as a breakfast bar with fruits, yogurt, homemade granola, and a peach tart. There were also baskets of biscuits with a couple of different jams and apple butter. The main entree was a spinach and cheese quiche. My boyfriend ate it so quickly that it burned the top of his mouth, but he said it was worth it. Another tip - in the hallway there is a very convenient mini fridge with water and soda as well as a keurig for coffee and hot water for tea and hot chocolate. We made ourselves hot chocolate one night and sat on the beautiful porch to talk and relax. It was a great way to end the night. For those who are interested in checking out the town, everything is walking distance. We walked to the marina (all the way on the other end of town) in about 15 minutes. They also offer an appetizer and cocktail hour called 'WineDown', but we unfortunately were not able to partake because we had a sunset kayak tour booked. We stayed here for our anniversary. The house is gorgeous!!! The owners are so welcoming, friendly and wonderful!!! We stayed in the Williamsburg room. Very comfortable and beautiful room. Social distancing was done without loosing the personal touch which is a difficult thing to do. Wine down hour with delicious yummy Hors d'oeuvres. We walked around the cute and quaint town. We were greeted by Kim when we arrived, and she took us on a tour of the Inn, which is a Victorian home that is so wonderful and warm, decorated beautifully. Our room had a gas fire place with a huge bathroom, both extremely comfortable. Each night, there is a "wine down" hour with appetizers, and this is where we got to meet Matt, and had a really nice visit with the innkeepers. (Matt and Kim) My husband and I were visiting Onancock to purchase a property, and Matt and Kim were very helpful with hints and referrals to all the things we would need to know. One of the best parts of our stay was the delicious breakfasts that Kim made each morning. Fresh fruit with honey and yogurt, egg and cheese soufflé, bacon, juice, and finally the most wonderful homemade shortbread cookies! We highly recommend the Inn at Onancock. The hosts, Kim & Matt, were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived and went out of their way t make sure our stay was exceptional. The inn is conveniently located within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, and the harbor. Your day will start with a morning coffee delivery outside your room, followed by a delicious gourmet breakfast. They also provide a 5 pm "Wine Down" complete with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Kim is an exceptional cook and we were served the best breakfast souffle and bruschetta we've ever had. Kim was even kind enough to share her recipe with us. This was such a fantastic experience. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. From our initial entrance we felt welcomed. Kim greeted us with an amazing smile and gave us a tour. What a fantastic weekend. We were pampered, taken care of completely, and well-fed. Kim is a magnificent cook, and Matt is a magnificent host. The house is gorgeous - an old Victorian with modern updates, so our shower had 6 jets and towel warmers! The town itself is adorable, with a wharf and delicious restaurants, and Chincoteague with its natural delights is well within range. We had the pleasure of staying at The Inn at Onancock for our wedding anniversary. We were here for one night, and we were not disappointed. Matt and Kim greeted us warmly and helped get settled into our room before "wine down" which consisted of amazing hors douevres and wine on the front porch. Two other couples were there also celebrating anniversaries, and our time on the porch with them was quite enjoyable. The room is comfortable and cozy, and coffee service at 7:30 was a perfect way to start the day before a wonderful breakfast.
