I give this barely a Four Star. We were a party of four. The waiter was pleasant enough ... he had several others bringing the appetizers and then the salad and then the meals to JUST TWO of our party. Nearly five minutes later the rest of our meals were delivered. The asparagus was terrible, and the mashed potatoes were barely warm. Steaks were tasty and cooked as ordered. Saw our waiter only twice during this evening and then finally when the check was due. First, I will start off saying that I was going to give 4, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. First, I had called days earlier about reservations and they said it wasn't really necessary for parties less than 5. Just make one if you're going on what would seem like a busy night. We went on a Friday night and waited for about an hour, there were a couple people that had arrived after us that had been seated before us, but they did seem to have several tables open around the same time, so no big deal, I suppose. It was busy, but the place had a good energy. I would say it was slightly crammed, but they did have a couple bigger parties too. Once we sat down it did take awhile to get our drinks, and even get our order taken. While I would normally be irritated by this, and I sort of was, we noticed that our server was also working the bar. I can't imagine that it's normally like this, as it's not ideal for the business or its patrons. However, I could be wrong. Once we did get our food, it was excellent. I had the ribeye and my date had the chicken Alfredo baked potato. We each had a couple drinks as well. I was expecting a much higher bill when the check came and was pleasantly surprised it was significantly lower than what I had anticipated for all we got at a nice establishment like this. Overall I would definitely recommend, as I stated at the beginning, I would, but couldn't give them 4 starts because the server/bar tender/all the other jobs I'm sure all these folks do, to keep us happy was busy. Because at the end of the day, she was very nice, and apologetic, and even the very tall gentleman, who I'd assume is the owner, if not manager at least, were all very nice, and welcoming, even when we were there for awhile after they had closed. We had a group event, and instead of treating us with respect, they scammed us with insane upcharges and refused to make it right. We were charged $75 per margarita because they used ultra-premium tequila without telling us--something no ethical establishment would do. When we spoke to the manager, their response was basically: "This is our business model, sorry" No accountability, no care for customer service. I visited the Iron Cactus the last two nights. The first night I went because a friend said they make the best Old Fashioned. The bartender, Rochelle, not only is amazing but her drinks are perfection! She asked me what kind of bourbon, I told her a few that I liked, then she picked one I never tried before. I told her I don't like them overly sweet and I like a hint of smoke. She made the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. I love the atmosphere there! It's beautiful and decorated well. I had such a good time that I decided to go on a solo date the next night. Rochelle was there again and made me a Manhattan. Again, the best Manhattan I've ever had. I ordered food: Top Sirloin, with Mac & Cheese, Brussels sprouts and a Caesar salad. I wish I could say I enjoyed the food as much as I enjoyed the drinks but it was okay. The Caesar salad was fantastic! The steak was good but it had a taste on it like lighter fluid, however, it was cooked well. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. But the Brussels sprouts were previously frozen, not fresh. If they made them from fresh, they would've been so good! I still plan on going back, not only to see my new favorite bartender but I still want to try more of their food. Their ribs went by me and smelled amazing! Those are next on the list. read more

This steak salad was huge. It was fresh and delicious. The steak portion was extremely generous. The staff was very friendly. We were well taken care of. Everything seems to be very clean. (Except front entrance doors). I had a Blueberry Old Fashioned. It was not great. Then I had a regular old fashion, it was so so. I'm pretty picky with my bourbons. So no fault to the bartenders. Our new favorite spot! We've been eating here about once a week since we first discovered this little gem. Jason(the bar tender) always has some new and fun cocktails In store for us to try. He sure knows his way around the bar you won't be disappointed with any of his drinks. The waitresses have continued to be attentive, friendly, and top notch( shoutout to Shannon and America.) The restaurant is bringing steaks back on the menu. So tonight we gave them a shot and ordered the rib eye steak with mushrooms and onions, with a baked potato and garlic mash, my hubby got the steak with peppercorn gravy with scallop potatoes and garlic mash. I went in for Valentines and would give this place a -1/10. 0 all across the board. We had a reservation for 8pm and got seated outside (it was cold). Then we ordered within 10mins or less and never received our appetizer. We patiently waited until 9:10 and finally asked what was going on with the wait for our food/ even the appetizer at least. Jason was super attentive and tried his absolute best. Jason is a 10/10 employee and deserves way more - to the owners we hope he's promoted. He was the best "management" in the restaurant. Our waitress never checked on our appetizers and when the crowd was gone with only 30mins left of it being open she had been gone for at least 40mins from the whole outside area. The steak I ordered had NO seasoning whatsoever and even came out burnt and well done when I asked for medium rare.. the pasta had NOOO sauce it was legit water with noodles. 0/10 experience. I'd never come here again nor would recommend it to anyone. To top it off the bathroom was disgraceful it was full of paper all over the floor and the toilet area with an overflow of toilet paper and trash. Gross. The only good thing this place has is Jason. The food was delicious! We started with the spinach and artichoke dip and it was the best we've ever had. It was homemade and fresh. The salad was plentiful and very tasty but the highlight was the Porterhouse steak. It was so tender you can cut it with a butter knife. The service was very good and our server was very attentive. My wife's salad had onions which she hates but there was no one to even let know to fix it and we had waited so long she just ate around them. The quality of the ingredients and the cook on it is just well beyond five stars. I ordered the western burger, and onion rings, and they both exceeded my expectations by a large measure. Excellent flavors, and just wonderfully balanced. The ambience of the spot is also very cutesy, and much nicer inside than you'd imagine based on the rather rural surroundings. My friends and I dined here after going to see the poppies in the Antelope Valley. I swear this place is in the middle of nowhere! I don't even know how we came upon it, nevertheless I'm glad we did. The service here was pretty good, and the establishment was clean and nice. The food was absolutely to die for and the portions were large. I personally had the Tombstone Burger. All I can say is it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! Brownie points for the fact that they serve steak fries! A friend of mine had the steak salad which was huge and definitely enough for two people! A couple of my friends ordered the sweet potato fries and while I didn't have them, I understand they were really good and were also a good-sized portion. Everyone loved their food. To be 100% transparent, this was a completely average to below average experience. The restaurant inside is super cool. I loved the decor and vibe, however, the food and service were super mediocre. The server was overextended and inconsistent all night, our drinks were overrated and the food was just average. The unfortunate part was that we had such high expectations and the place has massive potential.
