The burgers are cooked to perfection and the variety of burgers are phenomenal. The cocktails are top shelf wonderful and tasty. This is the kind of place I never want to leave and I can't wait to be back soon! My wife and I were just there with our best friends and we all agreed that this place is a hit and is no problemo doing the short drive to this location. Well worth it! My wife ordered the Caprese steak, and it was honestly terrible. She took one bite and couldn't eat more -- it was incredibly bland and just didn't taste good. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant mix and weren't enjoyable. The Brussels sprouts were overly sweet and mushy. My son's noodles were sitting in a puddle of oil and butter, they were for my 2 year old, he had no interest in them. I ordered the steak salad, and it didn't even come out until 15 minutes after my wife got her meal. Meanwhile, the waitress never cleared my wife's plate, even though it was clearly pushed to the edge of the table, ready to be taken. It felt like she only paid attention to the locals. The food was overpriced and disappointing across the board. Overall, a really bad experience. read more

Went here for a first date. It was a Wednesday evening. We walked in and got seated right away. The staff was super nice and attentive. The appetizers were fantastic! We had the jalapeño dish, grits with burnt ends, and the bone marrow. Those were all 10/10! We had The Watermelon Crawl and it was strong and delicious! Then for dinner we had filet minion. We ordered medium rare and it was sadly over cooked. The sides were not good. The potato's were super dry. Other than that, it was a great experience. What a gem!! Stopped for a quick bite while visiting the antelope valley. I had their gravy smothered fried chicken breakfast burrito on their brunch menu. It was huge and very delicious and i wanted to take shots of their smoked pepper salsa that came with it. I wanted to try their dessert too, but was way too full - and trust me, I can eat a lot, but sadly, their burrito was all i can fit in my stomach. My husband and I went there last month for our anniversary. He've heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. Food was mediocre. Filet mignon was over cooked (asked for medium rare got MW) husband got a cheeseburger and it was over cooked as well. We didn't wanna complain since we had a movie to catch and we didn't wanna wait longer for them to fix the food. The waitress took our drink and food order, dropped off the drinks and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay. Despite this bad experience We decided to give this place another chance tonight 4/26 we had a reservation for a party of 7. We got seated and no one came over to greet us until i went to ask the hostess if we had a waitress assigned to us since we had been waiting for about 15 mins....our waitress apologized and said no one told her we were seated. Once again my husband's burger was over cooked, his sweet potato fries were burnt he didn't even touch them, about half way through my cajun chicked sandwich i realized it didn't have all the ingredients the list on their menu (tangy onions and crispy pickles were missing.) We had a lot of dirty dishes just sitting in front of us. Who is responsible about clearing dirty dishes? Bussboy? Waitress? Runner? Who knows..... Boy, was that a disappointment & embarrassment. We brought family members for birthday dinner. The service was so unprofessional and poor and the food (ribeye steaks) was only mediocre. Asked to see the manager he wasn't available. We arrived early on a Sat evening (4;30 ) it was not busy at all. We were one one the first in the restaurant. I placed three phone calls, over 3 days to offer some. Constructive criticism and suggestions. I left My number and asked to please return my call. Never heard anything from them. This review has been a long time coming. I don't think there's a worse restaurant masquerading as a decent sit down restaurant as the Iron Cactus in the AV. You can argue Raven's Nest is just as horrible, but I can't decide which is worse. The service was horrible. We had to wait forever just to get our drink orders in, we were rarely checked up on, and the food was inedible. I ordered an 8oz filet medium rare. I never send food back, but the steak I got was the driest steak I've ever had in my life (just because it looks remotely pink doesn't mean it's not drier than the Sahara), so I sent it back, only for the waitress to return with the steak cut halfway open telling me "the owner cut it open and she said it's pink in the middle, just not on the sides." I've never sent food back at a restaurant before, but I've seen others do it and never once have I seen a manager, a chef, or an owner argue with a customer. At this point, I was already irritated because my soda was completely flat and my fiancée's steak was also screwed up (she ordered medium rare as well, but got an almost raw steak), so when she asked if I wanted to send it back again stating they'll send it back if I'm 100% sure it's not medium rare, I just told her I'll keep the steak. What do they think, I'm going to send it back again and insist? I already tried sending it back, it was analyzed and determined by the owner I'm mistaken and don't know what my eyes are looking at, so that's fine, I'll just never come here again. What's funny is I've said that the last 3 times we've come here, but I always forget since it's usually a year in between coming back and this time I really mean it, we're never going back. I don't understand how this place I'm still in business the food is absolutely horrible. The only tasteful thing I ate was the asparagus (which is a $3 upsell). Attaching photos of my "medium rare" filet and my fiancée's "medium rare" ribeye. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else, Black Angus or Outback Steakhouse even or if you're lucky enough to find last minute reservations, the Broken Bit which is the only decent steakhouse in the AV. Sorry for the long winded review, but I felt obligated to warn others of driving all the way out there for underwhelming service and horrible food. read more

Heard some good reviews from family about this place, kind of skeptical because it's in the middle of no where, but it was so good. We had the elote dip and the Hogg ribs. The Hogg ribs were amazing!! But got the black and blue burger with onion rings, which was also amazing! Great flavor. My husband has the NY strip because they were out of the porterhouse steak. Our waitress was nice; but hardly checked on us and had to flag her down for service. The food is sub par to say the least. I ordered The New York Steak and it was more like a rib eye. It had bone and I have never seen a NY with a bone. It was dry and really rough, I ordered medium rare and it came med rare. For 48 bucks it should have been more tender. My son had the pasta and meat balls, nice amount of meat balls but, they were dry and over cooked. The noodles were out of a box. I wouldn't go back- we spent $236 for 5 people and only had 2 drinks and one Lava cake which was really good. I didn't take the others food but they weren't happy with the outcome. read more

We heard about this place when they first opened but didn't make it out until today. We recently read online they had new owners since a year or two ago and the food was really delicious. We had the burnt ends and grits, the tombstone burger and the southwest pasta. Every single item was delicious! We read online the bread they bring to your table is nothing special. I disagree. I give this barely a Four Star. We were a party of four. The waiter was pleasant enough ... he had several others bringing the appetizers and then the salad and then the meals to JUST TWO of our party. Nearly five minutes later the rest of our meals were delivered. The asparagus was terrible, and the mashed potatoes were barely warm. Steaks were tasty and cooked as ordered. Saw our waiter only twice during this evening and then finally when the check was due.
