Food is mediocre, prices are high. Service is ok. Came here for quick brunch one day and ordered the Irvine bowl for $8. It's very rich and fatty, hash brown at the bottom, topped with pulled pork cream sauce and no veggies. The portion size is not very big. It didn't taste very good, and I got a stomachache later from it. Extra avocado cost $2 extra. Service was very absent at times, I had to ask for water a few times. Overall not worth the $. No bathrooms in the restaurant, you have to walk kind of far to the back of the store to use the whole foods bathrooms. read more

This is a little bar inside Whole Foods. I attached pics with their current menu (the one on the website is outdated). I'm a fan of this place. They have a good selection of beers on tap. Check out the TapHunter app for what they're currently pouring. My current favorites are Modern Times Critical Band and Lagunitas Born Again Yesterday. Food: - Beyond Burger: I'm not a big veggie burger person but this one is great. They get a nice grilled flavor from the sear on it and although the tomatoes and lettuce tend to look a little sad, it's still a tasty burger. - Fish Tacos: you get 3 large fish tacos per order. Very filling and tasty. The fish is nice and tender and the batter is light and crispy. - Fish and Chips: The fish is the same as they use in the tacos, so it's good. Loving this spot. It's inside wholefoods market. They have a good brew selection. Thursdays is Burger and Brew $13 all day. Pub or some Vegan burger + beer from tap!! Before you had to choose from the $7 beer selection but when I went yesterday they said it can be any beer excluding just 1 of the beers!!! Score! Beer prices range from $7-$10/ pint or tulip. The burger is pretty good! Especially at this price! Nice and juicy everytime! My coworker thinks its too juicy! Haha Anyways, cant wait to they their Taco Tuesday deal!! read more

Awesome corner spot that's located inside Whole Foods in Irvine! I came here randomly on a Friday night and was able to get the couch area. They're even baby friendly! We were served by the bartender who came to give us menus/take our orders/serve our food. The drinks are decently priced even out of happy hour. I'll definitely come here to try the happy hour before 6pm! We just got drinks on our first visit, the blonde ale and a margarita. Both were very good for the price. This may turn out to be a hidden gem! Who would think about happy hour inside a Whole Foods?? My gal pals and I came here for a book club sesh and enjoyed ourselves for the most part. We got a high top and ordered a few happy hour items and alcoholic beverages. On the lineup that evening were: - Sorry, forgot the name of the cocktail but it had celery in it; tasted like a healthy juice bar drink but with alcohol. Love the concept! - Cauliflower Nachos - Probably my favorite of the evening - Chicken Quesadilla - Was supposed to be a pork one but they ran out and offered up chicken instead; it was pretty tasty but nothing to write home about. - Fries with curry on top - An Indian-style poutine because they no longer make the regular poutine that fellow Yelpers previously mentioned. Not bad, even when cold. - Charcuterie plate - Tasty with a nice variety except it was kind of odd to have jams/preserves on the plate (I have only had jams with cheese). Service was great with the guys checking in on us and clearing empty plates on a regular basis. Definitely some place I hope to come back to for brunch or another happy hour. read more

Our office comes from IE here ones a month is our half way meet up with another office and we fall involve with this place. Their food is always so fresh and the fries no where to find the same. Live across the street and went there yesterday to grab a quick bite. Arrived about 8:30 pm and sat at the bar with seats empty on both sides of me. The two guys behind the bar were focused on talking about all the samples they were giving the guy two seats over. After waiting several minutes both seats on the sides of me became occupied and the bartenders helped the two people who arrived after me without acknowledging my presence. Than they helped the people who walked up to the end of the bar to order take out...felt invisible. After this walked away and took my business elsewhere. Returned today to give it one more shot at grabbing a bite. Arrived at 8:55 and walked up to the empty bar where the guy behind the bar was already cleaning up. After standing there a couple minutes I told the guy I wanted to order food to go. The guy walked over reluctantly and said "I think the kitchen is closed". I asked him what time they closed and he didn't answer. I asked him if he could check if the kitchen was closed, he replied "it's closed!", I asked "why so early?" His reply was "I think it's closed" and turned and walked away. Needless to say there are plenty of other healthy options in that center. Whole Foods should look at the lack of customer service by the employees at The Irv...won't be trying to spend my money there again any time soon. read more

We've been here a few times and always had good service and great food. There are daily specials and happy hour specials. The wings are outstanding and on Wednesday there is a special for an order of wings and a beer for around $10. You really can't beat that - and the wings are good!! I've had the avocado toast and sushi. If you don't find something you like on the menu just go into the store and buy something awesome, come back to the bar for a drink and eat it there. This place is great! Came here for some wine and a little food with the girls. The happy hour goes from 4-6pm. I'm not sure where I read that it goes till 8pm now, but it does not. In fact, right at 6pm the button for happy hour prices goes away, so make sure to get your order in at least by 5:59pm :P Service is really great here. You have a server, but the bartender will often go around and fulfill orders as well if the server is busy with other patrons. The goods... - HH MDZ Malbec: $6 and delicious. I had two glasses of it /cheers! - Cauliflower nachos: part of the small HH menu. It's lightly covered cauliflower that is fried. They pour a light cheese sauce and throw it with fresh diced tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapenos. The jalapenos look way intimidating and spicy, but most seeds are removed and it's more for flavor than spice. I expected the cauliflower itself to be more crispy than how it turned out. It's still quite good, but don't expect any crispy texture from cauliflower. - Charcuterie and cheese board: not part of HH menu, but for $13, it's totally reasonably priced. I had my glass of wine by now and totally forgot to take a pic of this. They gave us a selection of 2 cheeses (a blue and a semi firm), a jelly, 3 meats (2 type salami and a prosciutto). They brought out fresh cut bread lightly drizzled with olive oil to serve with this. They'll give you as much bread as you need! This board was more than filling for us, we did not finish it. The place isn't too crowded nor loud. There are TVs showing sports everywhere and the sound is at a great level to hear it but not drown out your convo. In the end, 3 ladies paid $20 each for a chill night out with great service, food/drink, and ambiance. I can't wait to come back to try other things. read more

There's one word for this place... Odd. First of all, it's inside Whole Foods Market and they don't have good signage outside letting you know that. We drove back in forth several times before I decided to see if it was inside the store. As others have indicated, the service was average at best. The atmosphere would be okay, but it's just too close to everyone shopping with kids running around. The micro beer selection was very good and we really enjoyed one of the sour beers they had on tap along with a cherry cider. With all that said, it won't be a place we frequent, but I would stop by for a beer if I had to do some shopping at the market. read more

Visited this place for brunch recently. They have breakfast bowls options and a la carte options. I opted to order eggs, bacon, crispy hash browns & orange juice and it was around $10. Not bad not bad! They also have breakfast cocktails which is a plus! Service was good. My friend, who collects pint glasses, really wanted to purchase one of their glasses (it says The Irv on it) and they were able to sell one to him for $10. Pretty cool! read more

A bar inside a Whole Foods? Count me in! I love the beers they have on tap here. A variety of local and interesting selections. They go through about a tap a week, per the employee I asked, and the manager should take pride in ordering a fresh selection of highly-rated beers. I came here to try two of their specific beers - Oskar Blues - Death by Coconut AleSmith Speedway Stout - Vietnamese Coffee It's the time of year when darker brews start making their rounds and I can't wait to come back and see what new things they have tapped. Before making my decision, I tried the 2 Towns Hollow Jack (which had a lot of apple notes, some caramel) and could not let the Death by Coconut out of my mind. Came in here during happy hour recently. Pretty good selection of unique beer on tap. When I was there everyone was drinking the revision planetary fog IPA and I had it as well.. Very good! This places service is absolutely atrocious the two out of three times I've been here. You don't know if it's full service or just counter service. Literally sat at our table for ten minutes without an acknowledgement, people keep looking at you then look away and keep walking. Finally I go up to the bar and order, pay 70 dollars for beer and a couple entrees, and they make you get everything yourself. Silverware, your beer, napkins. I come back a week later guy takes my order at bar, 40 minutes later no food, everyone around me getting food before me who sat down well after me. I ask the lady she says she will check, doesn't go anywhere for ten more minutes to check or anything. Finally tell another guy and he runs over and still no food. Service is the pinnacle of any restaurant, and this place is atrocious. Bar tenders clueless on every level of taking care a customer who is paying premium prices. Second part- they have improved their service a lot. I know a lot of the bartenders now and they all do a great job in servicing the entire place. The problem at the beginning was they just didn't have enough workers, and were understaffed on Fridays and Saturdays. Now the crew they have is on point. read more

Came here for happy hour. Felt adventurous and thought I'd try the cauliflower nachos. It's basically lightly floured cauliflower ($7) that's been deep-fried, sprinkled with salt and pepper, then drizzled with lime-mayo sauce and sliced raw jalepenos. The florets were swimming in grease as you can imagine if you deep-fried your veggies. At the bottom of the plate was a pool of oil. There wasn't enough sauce and the raw jalepenos were too much. Beer selection was fine ($2 off current prices), but after reviewing my tab, there was an additional 30 cents added for "CS beer tax". I have never seen this before. It's not printed on their menu either. The bartender told me that the business gets taxed for beer, so they're passing it onto the customers. Geez, even the local dive bar doesn't do this. Talk about nickel and dime-ing your patrons. In addition to the bad food and charging what normal bars don't, this is my first and last time here. read more

Wine list looked good too, although I didn't give it a thorough scan. Pork and chile quesadilla very good (though only slightly spicy), Brussels sprouts OK. Calamari pretty tiny and overcooked - suggest you skip that. Surprisingly quiet for a fairly crowded albeit small place - we could have a conversation across the table with only slightly raised volume. Service was pretty slow - only two people actually working at 5:45 - 6:30 - they need at least one more, or more action out of the ones they have. read more
