They play sports games on their television and are open to changing the channel if no one is watching the TV! I also did their trivia night the other week and really liked how they did it. I visit a lot of breweries locally and while traveling, I think my expectations are in-line of these casual bars. Left Coast has a great baseline--ample parking, versatile indoor/outdoor seating, a full bar, and a solid tap list including a great sour and seltzer. However, our Wednesday 3:00 PM visit fell short on basic execution. The indoor music volume was our first hurdle; the heavy, pounding bass was simply too loud for mid-afternoon, making it nearly impossible to talk. Despite the hot day, we opted for the patio, which had devolved into a frustrating maze of drifted tables and stray chairs left exactly where previous customers had abandoned them. An hour later, move back inside because the patio was apparently reserved for an event--disappointing, but understandable. The real letdown was the food and facilities. We ordered the brussel sprouts and brisket burnt ends (5 small pieces--$13). While brisket is naturally fatty, it requires proper kitchen prep. The soft fat cap should be trimmed to a uniform quarter-inch to render down, and the hard inner layer--the deckle--must be carved out entirely. Only the deckle could survive their "17 hour smoke", will never be anything other than an unappealing greasy blob, and should never be served. Finally, the women's bathroom was unacceptable. Walking in, I was smacked in the face with an overwhelming stench of urine. Again, brewery, not fancy--no problem. But for a three-stall bathroom to smell that severe just five hours into the business day points to a real lack of basic maintenance. Left Coast has so much going for it, and the menu looks incredibly promising. I'm not sure if this was just an understaffed day or an off afternoon, but resetting the furniture, cleaning the restrooms, and properly trimming the meat would easily make this a top-tier spot. I'll definitely return down the road to try a different dish and hope for a better experience. read more

We stopped into Left Coast Brewing for lunch at the end of the plaza on Irvine Center and Sand Canyon, and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is wonderfully spacious and feels casual and cozy. The service was fast and friendly, accepting multiple forms of payment. I ordered the Left Coast Rueben with pastrami that's been smoked for 15 hours, wow! The combination of savory pastrami, sauerkraut, awesome sauce, and marbled rye is a grand slam!! Best rueben I've ever had, hands down. The side of french fries was a nice compliment. Met some friends for dinner, it's typical brewery seating- indoor & outdoor options. Tables and menus were pretty dirty but nothing abnormal for a brewery I guess. Food- man n cheese side ($5) for the baby was good! Decent size. I got the salad with chicken- not great. It was swimming in dressing. My husband got the crunchy burger and said it was 3.5/5. The fries on the side were pretty good, I liked the seasoning. We got loaded fries to share and the onion rings weren't good but the jalapeños on it were yummy, again though the burger sauce they put on the fries was overwhelming and they were drenched so the ones underneath got soggy. Amazing service, food, and beer. Its located in a random strip mall but right off the 5 fwy. I had the chicken tacos for taco tuesday and they were delicious. Left Coast in Irvine remains our treasured local brewery. Big shout out to Margot - she's the absolute best. So sweet, fun and great customer service. We stopped in on a recent Friday and got a seat at the bar. Nice chill vibes and it wasn't too busy. We got our favorite hazy IPA - Offshore Haze. It's the best beer on the menu IMO. Rounded it out with a Voo Doo Stout, another excellent beer in their rotation. We got some of their food to go and I think it's better than ever. The cornbread was perfect, we also got the brisket burger, which is pretty big and filling for the price and it was cooked perfectly. Solid 3.5 stars! Left Coast has a great beer selection for those who enjoy local craft brews. Prices are very reasonable and you can pick various glass sizes or go with a flight. They rotate their beers so it will be different based on the seasons. I love their Hef and Lager since I prefer light beers. Food is a great bang for the buck as well but I come here mostly for the drinks. I've had the pork sandwich and it sometimes can be a little too heavy for my taste. It can get crowded with the after work crowd on the weekdays so plan your visit accordingly. Lunchtime can be crowded too since it's located near a lot of office complexes. Not only is this a great brewery it is also a great place to have a meal! The burgers and sandwiches are HUGE. The beers are yummy and theres a huge variety of options, i got the blonde Marvel. We tried the chicken sandwich 9/10, the barbecue burger 10/10, the cornbread 7/10 and the mac n cheese 8/10. The prices are reasonable because the portions are huge. This place doesn't deserve the current 3.5 stars that it's currently rated at. It's a solid 4... the atmosphere is 5/5. The service is 5/5. The beers are 4/5. The food is 3/5. They also have a distillery which isn't always the case for most breweries. The place is clean and spacious. The bathrooms are clean. There's really nothing special about the beers. But they are solid and cold. As for the food, I've had worse food. The burnt ends looked and tasted like they were in the smoker 15 hours longer than their original 15 hours. The Mac and cheese is the standard food truck type of Mac and cheese. So being priced at $7 right now isn't that bad honestly. And the fried pickles were probably my favorite. But these aren't the southern type of fried pickles. They're in chunks and fried (fried well). Southern fried pickles are sliced and fried. Not in chunks. So when they first serve it, wait a bit bc there's a lot of HOT pickle juice that still needs to cool! Overall, not a bad spot. There's a comfortable time frame between ordering and receiving one's order. I consider myself very patient, and thoroughly enjoy conversing during my dining experiences; it's extremely rare when I notice/comment on the delay of service; however, my last 3-4 visits here, the wait time has been "noticeably" long to the point of feeling mildly irritated (but still no complaints). Having happy-&-content young toddlers turn to tired,&-hungry toddlers amplifies that aggravated feeling (making me more aware of the timing). I fully understand -- and can accept delays -- during busy periods (after all, we cleaned off our own table -- on more than one occasion); my thoughts are that it's interesting of our 4 items, that my salad (what I'd consider the most complicated menu item of our group) was delivered first after 34 minutes, followed by the 2 pasta with cheese orders, with the kids' hot dog coming in last at 42 minutes!! On a positive note (4 stars for the following), the staff is positive and pleasant (which makes a huge difference for me), and the drinks are fairly reasonable and appreciatively of good strength.
