Wonderful restaurant with solid food and stellar service. I took my partner here for his birthday and I'm so glad I did! First off, we received a complimentary toast with champagne . Then, we received a personalized menu with my partner's name with cute balloon logo. So many good options on the menu!! We ordered three appetizers and the waiter offered to split the portions for us which we greatly appreciated. My partner ordered the steak (medium rare) and it was soooo tender. I got the pork dish which had delicious sides too. Even though we were extremely full, they gave us complimentary dessert with my partner's name written on cursive. Honestly the service was top tier. The ambiance was cozy and romantic with old Charlottesville vibes. I definitely would come again for a special event!!!

SERVICE We strolled in after making a reservation an hour before close...(and by the end it was clear that we were being unconsciously pushed out? We weren't even offered dessert menus and had to ask for it????) Our orders were put in quick and came out quick. FOOD Everything was excellent despite the air of some attitude and perhaps tiredness from the late shift. Otherwise, we loved the food and the overall experience! AMBIANCE Cute gem of a spot. Cozy and seems so homey! Loved the feel of it.

For my friend's bachelorette the one place she was super excited to try in Charlottesville was the Ivy inn. We came here on our first night in town and it was truly fabulous. The spot was cozy and had just a great atmosphere. The food and the service was all great. If I'm ever back in town, I would absolutely come here and would definitely recommend it.

We're so glad we decided to come here for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance and service was spectacular. They really took great care of us. The food was delicious. We tried several items on the menu. The wine was great, it's been a while since we visited so I can't recall the exact name but it was a cab sauvignon. We tried a pasta (app size) and it was delicious - certainly would have gotten this as a whole meal. For my entree, I got the beef tenderloin and it was great. Only small complaint id have is that it was a bit on the salty side. everything was so filling and we ended the night with the creme brûlée. They even wrote "happy anniversary" on the plate for us. Great evening and would certainly return here again!!

Dining at the ivy inn was the perfect spot for a special night. My boyfriend and I celebrated an anniversary and were super pleased with the food and dining experience. Our waiter was able to make some great recommendations for us which we really appreciated. Both entrees were so delicious.

What a wonderful meal and evening! Visiting our cousins and they brought us here! Teresa was our server and she was incredible! Fun, professional, always knowing our needs!! Make sure to get the ham biscuits! Fabulous meals were the strip, tenderloin, gnocchi and stuffed chicken! Deserts included ice cream and the blueberry peach crisp! Heaven!! Don't miss this wonderful place and ask for Teresa!!!

One of the best spots in Cville for sure. I especially like the outdoor seating area that's heated in case it's chilly. Service is usually fantastic as well. Just took my Dad for his bday and had a great experience. They gave us free champagne and a desert with his name spelled out in chocolate syrup. Nice touch!

Multiple layers of flavor and all the right textures. Visually appealing on the plate as well. Solid cocktail list here. I'm a big fan that they go old school with a hot toddy. The applejack brandy added to that is a nice touch. Service is excellent here. Prices reasonable given the quality of the dishes. Will be back the next time I'm in town for sure. Ordered a cucumber chamomile gin and tonic, which left something to be desired. We started with the blackberry salad which on the menu said it also included avocado but there was none on the salad-despite this the salad was great. Our mains were good but not great. The biggest issue I found here was despite our server being very nice while ordering she NEVER checked in on us after anything arrived, never refilled waters either. So although she was nice the service was not good as there were times we wanted to order something else and one of the entrees didn't arrive as it was ordered but our server never checked in. All things considered I think I would only come here to grab a salad or appetizer.

The fried green tomatoes were crispy and dressed with an awesome spinach and corn salad. A whole meal themselves. We ordered shrimp po boy sliders that were a little spicy and sweet with Cole slaw. I'd get them again any day! Butter biscuits and then shrimp and grits were also delicious. However, we needed to invite 2 more people because the portions were so generous. It's just too bad they are not located in our neighborhood in Florida!

We got the fish sandwich, tail of two fish and wharf scramble. My fish sandwich looks substantial at first but there were more batter than fish. Every bite I am just eating the crunchy batter. The accompanying tartar sauce was delicious. Their no cost substitute is nice touch. I would say it was a decent experience but really not sure if I would go back given there are many restaurants with similar menu. Our waitress was working incredibly hard. She seems to be the only one waiter serving all the indoor tables. It was late afternoon but still. I've been to restaurants where there were 3 handling same amount of tables and not getting services.
