After quitting my job, I was left without insurance despite the fact that I needed to continue my chiropractic care --- lower backpains like a grandma. I happened to stop by The Joint (next to Jamba Juice) and was able to see Dr. Mark A. Campbell immediately after filling out some initial paperwork. It's only $49/month for 4 visits and on a recurring basis after that. Ongoing chiropractic care was something that was out of budget, even w/ insurance co-pays at $40/visit, but necessary for me. But as someone whose livelihood depends on computer work and client visits (hello Bay Area traffic!), I was hurtin' and misaligned. Our bodies are not naturally designed to withstand all-day sitting and typing. With a couple of adjustments and a lot of popping noises, I felt a lot of pressure being lifted from my neck, arms and lower back. It was easier to lift my legs and walk normally. If you're unsure about what constitutes a chiropractic adjustment, just check out a couple of YouTube videos. I went in to this joint location for the first time today being seen by Dr. Shannon Vargas; and I was disappointed in how cold, nasty, and uncaring his attitude was with me. When I went in to wait he did not even say hello; he kept his back turned to me the entire time. Also when it was my turn he told me "you can take your jacket off now." I have worked with several different chiropractics over the years, and this had to be one of the nastiest experiences that I have had with one. The person that he was finishing up with before me he asked them all types of questions, and showed concern and compassion for their condition. When he got to me he did not ask me any questions. Also I tried to tell him a little about myself, and he quickly cut me off like I'm stupid. I felt disrespected. A few years ago I looked forward to coming to this location due to the friendly Dr. on site. This type of treatment is terrible and should not be tolerated. Every paying client deserves to be treated equally, with respect and compassion; I don't care what type of personal preconceptions or stereotypes that you have about someone else's culture, or appearance. After months of going to massages with only temporary relief, my therapist recommended The Joint for chiropractic care. That was the best recommendation...ever. I am on my way to being a new person. I started with Dr. Campbell and the Joint a few months ago. When I came in initially, I had let things deteriorate to the point of constant pain. I had been ignoring things for months. Not only has the monthly plan been affordable, the care that Dr. Campbell and his team provide is wonderful. They are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I was hesitant in the beginning of signing up for a monthly plan that also didn't accept insurance. However, most insurance plans don't cover unlimited visits. It took months and years for me to get to the condition I was in, I knew it wasn't going to be fixed in 6 visits. I love the monthly plan. In the beginning, I went over my 4 visits a month, as I was going twice a week. Additional visits? No problem. Still just $12. When you are in pain, $12 seems like pennies. It really has made going for adjustments a more regular part of my life. There are no appointments needed. I thought at some point, I would have to wait awhile for an adjustment. Nope. The longest I've waited is about 6 minutes, and I typically show up at one of their busier times of day....on the way home from work. I love that they are open on Saturdays until 4 pm, and that during the week they are open until 7 pm. Crazy...a doctor's office that has extended hours that work with our lives... I've had some wonderful experiences with chiropractors, and some experiences that were just plain awful. What falls in the awful category? Pushy chiropractors that the minute you enter their office, they try to attribute all of your current ailments to something related to the spine. You leave feeling like a complete blob of inability. And, it's going to cost you $4k for their recommended treatment. Not Dr. Campbell. He's friendly, down-to-earth, while still very knowledgeable about helping with your overall health. Not pushy. I have one word for Dr. Campbell - RELIEF!!! I have been struggling through stiffness and pain in my shoulder/neck for a few years. Outside of ibuprofen, nothing really provided me with any long term relief. Since I started with Dr Campbell, my stiffness has improved dramatically to the point where I no longer need any ibuprofen. We came to The Joint Chiropractic for the first time using their $29 special. I used to get a weekly adjustment from about 11 years old until graduating high school, but haven't been since. I started having some general stiffness waking up in the mornings, no biggie. My boyfriend, however, was having constant back pain and discomfort (job related, we're thinking). I suggested we try getting our backs adjusted as an alternative to the doctor. As nurses, we both know there are benefits outside of traditional medicine and prefer to not have pills shoved at us. So, we went and what a good choice it was! The consultation and adjustment was thorough. We didn't feel rushed, and we appreciated the education we received during our visit. The best thing we liked was our individualized adjustment plans. It was suggested I come back once/week for 1 month, then once/month for maintenance for 1 month (so, 2 months total). I went to The Joint with my daughter in mind who has suffered from spastic torticollis since she was 15-months old. She was on meds three times/ day and had to medically receive Botox in her neck to relax her neck muscles, which she couldn't control. My daughter, then 4, was extremely reluctant to chiropractic treatment and Dr. Campbell felt that she was treatable and assured me that she would get used to it. I had tried at least three other chiropractors and felt it was a waste of money since she was so reluctant. I hesitantly signed her and myself up. Fast forward a year or two later... my daughter, who just turned 6, jumps on the table for treatment and is off meds completely. There are no spastic movements and no sign that it was ever such a problem! I am extremely grateful for his ability to treat her. First off, Dr. Peters is amazing! For months, I have been experiencing chronic neck pain, fatigue, and digestion issues that were affecting me after every meal. I have on and off pain in my joints, back, knees and I have carpal tunnels all over the place for over 5 years and I refuse to go to a doctor and have them prescribe me drugs for pain so I decided to try chiropractic medicine. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that I found Dr. Campbell!!! Background: 28 year old dental hygienist. I started getting chiropractic work done about 4 years ago for a year, 2-4 times a week. Previously, I felt like I wanted to get readjusted 30 minutes after my appointment, just to survive the stabbing pain under my shoulder, in addition but secondary to the knots as hard as baseballs in my neck and lower back. I moved and left my chiro, and haven't found an affordable chiro, until now. For the last 2 years, I've been getting deep tissue massages 1-2x a month for 2 hours, just to make the pain livable, assuming that since chiropractic work didn't help me before, it wouldn't help me now. After my first visit at The Joint, I was skeptical that my instant relief was only initial. But 3 days later, and I still feel like shouting from the rooftops about how amazing I feel! I've been in pain for YEARS! I know I need to maintain appointments to help reaffirm proper placement of everything for awhile. But my problem is finally solved! The Dr. seemed careless and like he never wanted to be there or really help, more like he was going through the motions. Some adjustments were actually painful.
