Service was amazing walked in and was able to find a seat right away. Waitress came and offered us water right away and gave us a drink menu and informed us of the specials. The calamari was awesome and came so fast. The beef dip was good. Little lack luster but was the special and for 14$ was good. Hubby had the club house it was big and he said very good. read more

Old style neighbourhood pub in the so called downtown of Pitt Meadows. Parking is available on the streets around the building. The place looks like one of those old taverns. Lots of wood trim and beams. There are several screens around inside showing various sporting events. There is also a nice large patio courtyard outside that faces SW. Staff were friendly. I had the Philly cheesesteak. As of the time of writing there was some onion recall so my dish was served without them. Plenty of slices of beef, with strips of red and green peppers. Bread was toasted and cripsy. Tasted decent overall, but it could definitely use a bit more cheese. Served with fries which were pretty good as well, and a 1/4 pickle. We're on a mission to try some new pubs in and around the lower mainland! A friend recommended the Jolly Coachman so decided to give it a try. When I go to a local pub I'm not expecting trendy interior and top notch food. What I expect is cozy atmosphere, great staff and decently priced food which is exactly what this place has. The drinks are decently priced around $8 for an Empress gin and tonic. We decided to get some chicken wings to start and we both ordered burgers as our main. I didn't get a picture of the chicken wings because I was starving but they were served just wings alone no usual veggies on the side with dip and I think it was about 10 wings. The wings were good but plating could be improved. I ordered the crispy chicken Burger and it was delicious supermessy but very good. The fries were even better definitely home cut not frozen, they were crispy too! Hubby had a bacon cheeseburger and he said it was decent but also messy! need a few extra napkins when ordering burgers here. Overall we actually really like this pub it's cozy and you can tell it has a lot of regulars that come back. They also had keno and poker on the TV so we could do a little bit of gambling. So my experience last night at the Jolly Coachman (what a misnomer) actually prompted me to create a Yelp account. YES, that's how irritating it was. A few at our table were drinking alcoholic beverages, but I had ordered a cranberry and club soda from our server after another one of our party had ordered a virgin Caesar. Now, I had spoken slowly and clearly and two others at my table clearly heard my order. I was served a tall glass of what appeared to be just cranberry juice, but whatevs, it was fine. Upon receiving our bill, I noticed that I had been charged for a vodka cranberry. I pointed out this error to our server who replied that that was what I had been served as I had ordered it. I won't go into the reason, but I had made a conscious decision to NOT order an alcoholic beverage nor did I WANT an alcoholic beverage. I repeated that no, I had ordered a cranberry and club soda. Now, a reasonable person with some measure of compassion would have noticed that I was clearly distressed, however, our server simply replied that I drank it and refused to comp it or reduce the charge to my actual order. We reluctantly paid our bill but I guarantee that was the last penny this establishment will ever see of mine. What if I had an alcohol allergy or liver condition? Or was pregnant? Or was a recovering alcoholic? Or was on medication that required abstaining from alcohol? So many reasons why this should be seen as a big deal and it was completely dismissed by our server. The fact that I didn't notice any vodka in the cranberry juice shows that the bartender's pour was about as generous as our server's attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Six stars for the company at my table, negative five stars for the Jolly Coachman. read more

Jolly Cochman used to be my favorite for Chicken Wings before they added flour/breading on their wings. Their steak and ribs are one of the best. I love the roasted lamb, ribs and coleslaw on their Friday lunch buffet. Will always go back here. Highly recommended. read more

I went here and the service was amazing, the server so kind and the drinks came out quickly. But my problem is with the kitchen, yes if you are busy I understand that, but giving me soggy soaked in gravy fries with no cheese curds is not a poutine. Also cheese should be melted in a quesadilla and the tortilla not soggy. Maybe the kitchen should be taught they are making mistakes instead of blaming the wonderful service staff. read more

Ill start from the outside. We went on a Tuesday night when you drive up the sign is not great so a little hard to see. When you walk it it's a little old looking. We sat at the bar because I like to talk with the bar tender . I got a Whiskey sour and my boyfriend got a Jack and Coke they were good and did not take long. We had the from scratch sea food chowder that was soooo good I could have licked the cup. I also had the pot stickers which were a little sticky but tasted really good and they cook them in the Bamboo container to top it off :). Boyfriend had the Jambalaya which I tried and was great. For drink number two the bartender suggested rum drink that was really good for my boyfriend and he surprised me with a blended Mango flavoured drink both were really good. The bar tender said they make lots of the food from Scratch and I was sitting right in front of the kitchen and it looked nice and clean. I have a crazy Finicky Stomach and if the food is off at all I get sick and I feel great. So I give this place . I will be back and will be bring friends and family! :D I wish they had a drink menu I'm not very adventurous and I don't know lots of different drinks so it's nice to know what they think their best drinks are. read more

This is without a doubt my absolute favourite local pub. I always feel at home here, the servers are very friendly and the whole staff do an excellent job. My Wife and I have had many an enjoyable meal here and the daily specials are an exceptional value. This is the one place we keep coming back to again and again. The Sunday brunch buffet is the best value around for people who appreciate truly good, not to mention unlimited, food. I like to view all you can eat buffets as a personal challenge and put in my best effort and they do it right, so many dishes to choose from. This is our go to restaurant when we are wanting a good steak, and I want a perfectly made Dirty Martini. The staff at the MR location are very knowledgeable and I have never been disappointed with the service. Once you get in they do not try to rush you . The food is good and so is the service for a pub. We've also found the prices are awesome for what you get; we'll be back. I had the top sirloin steak. Arrived Sunday morning for brunch 5 minutes early. Pub opens 14 minutes late. Ok we know getting bk to normal is tough. We are the first in line and first seated. Waiting awhile for a bevy and low and behold the server shows late. She takes the order for the couple right beside us. Looks at us and walk all the way over to the other side of the patio to take an order from another table. Ok, well she doesn't know who came in first, odd her choice of taking orders. Then she completely ignored us for about 8 minutes while serving beverages to the other two people. Then another 4 tables came in and she proceeded to take their orders. Would not come to our table. We are not smelly or rude. We don't look poor or homeless. Wtf, in my own neighbourhood. We eventually got up and left. #Boycott #JollyCoachman . For someone that lives downtown Vancouver - I spend a lot of time in Jolly Coachman. I race in the area - and our club ends up here at least twice a month. The short and sweet message - the food here is much more than just pub food. Although I've never met him/her - I suspect the chef has some pretty serious professional training! Compared to a number of "pubs" in Vancouver proper - the food is way better, and much more affordable. On weekends they've got fresh sheet specials (at a pub!!?) that are totally delicious. Last week they had a pearl barley pilaff, quinoa and chicken cups, and fish tacos. So refreshing to be able to get these kinds of options (in along side wings and burgers of course!) Oh, and for those of you that are looking for just some good ol'burger and fries - try the double-trouble burger. That thing is so stacked... good luck getting it into your mouth ;) read more

We had dinner with drinks at this pub tonight. Enjoyed life music, singer and music was very chill and not too loud like most pubs. We were very happy with choice of beer on tap. This pub has dinner special every night and we were pleased with prices overall. Crowed was nice as well. Our server was attentive. Great to have pub like this in a neighborhood. Its gone downhill since the new owners took over. Food quality on some items have deteriorated and many menu items have disappeared. Now when we want go out, we usually use the Coachman as a last resort. Its too bad, we used to love coming here. We would easily drop 120 bucks but now, 30 is our limit with place. read more

In the last year the wings have doubled in price. The food here was never anything special, but at 10 cents a wing it was my go to every Thursday night. I've been coming to the jolly coachman almost every Thursday for the past 8 years simply because their wing prices couldn't be beat, unless you enjoy going to roosters. The wings at jolly are good, but they aren't 20 cents a wing good. Add 50 cents for each sauce on top of that. I know it may not seem like a big deal to most of you, but it is a deal breaker to me. I am ending my 8 year relationship with jolly coachman. If I am going to be paying 20 cents per wing I'll be going to a better restaurant. After our group finished a walk on the river in Osprey village we decided on the Coachman as a spot for a snack and a pint. Seemed like a typical neighbourhood pub with a liquor store attached and nice patio. It was well past 8 pm and barely a third to half full when we arrived, yet drinks took over 30 minutes and food orders took over an hour to get to the table, despite everyone ordering the same thing except one person- basically 3 orders of wings and a burger took over an hour. There were no drink menus of any kind; not on paper, not online, not even in chalk written over the bar. Server barely visited the table, it felt like she was hiding on us. We actually cancelled the orders because it was taking so long but they brought the food out anyway. My friend's burger was made incorrectly twice- it's like they weren't even listening- lettuce bun with cheese isn't a crazy difficult order. Funny to see all the reviews about "favorite local pub", as my group of 8 immediately felt like outsiders upon arrival. Apparently this place is great if you're deemed a local, but do you get crap service the first few years until your local status is locked in???!! Since we have to give at least one star let's say that's for the garden on the patio, it was nice. Too bad everything else sucked hard! Service was beyond terrible, seemed like we were putting the server out by wanting to hand her our hard earned money! Waitress had a nice demeanor; polite and pleasant. Service was not good. It was slow at the pub but her attention was not on service. Went there to enjoy an NFL game as they advertise you be all about sports. Very disappointing, the t.v.s were small, and out of the whole pub I couldn't fine a good spot to watch the game. I was hoping for a great game atmosphere, like the one they promoted, but it was blah. The pub is so outdated and the majority of the clientele consisted of 60 somethings with glazed over faces. If you want to support a softball tournaments you have to honour your commitments to your burger beers regardless of what time it is. Went there for all you can eat pasta. Apparently "all you can eat" translates to two plates and then you're ignored for the rest of the night. My friends and I went there and ended up waiting for over an hour for the waitress to take our pasta pick slips. She never came back to us, although she went to all the tables around us. I had to get up and search for her to get out bills. It wasn't even that busy at the time. It was the absolute worst service I'd ever had in my life, and to make matters worse the pasta was pretty bad. I figured it was justified since it was supposed to be an all-you-can eat, but apparently that wasn't the case. For the price of their all-you-can-eat I'd recommend going somewhere like the black sheep pub for a regular dinner instead. You'll get more food at a normal restaurant, the food will be much better, and it will end up being cheaper. My friends and I will never go back, it was horrible. read more
