We are big fans and will be returning! We feel lucky that this is in our neighborhood. We had the Chicken & Waffle, Mimosa with freshly squeezed oranges, side of Rosemary Potatoes, and the Cheese burger with fries. We loved that all proceeds go to the non-profit. Amazing place and organization.

Super glad that we stumbled upon 'The Joy Bus Diner'!!! Founded and operated by 'Chopped' champion Chef Jennifer Caraway, this place lives up to her esteemed reputation! Since 2016, this non-profit diner has been directly supporting homebound cancer patients through sponsored meals. The menu is deep, and the food is incredible! And honestly, I feel confident with all of their options. The place was packed and everyone looked satisfied. I ordered the chilaquiles which were a delightful offering of crispy tortilla chips covered in earthy red chili, topped with a velvety poached egg, on a bed of hearty pinto beans that had a hint of cumin, all which was drizzled with a rich crema and crumbled queso fresco. My dad had the Rueben and he said it was in his top-three he's ever had! Even during the Saturday brunch rush we were seated promptly, the kitchen was swift and our waitress was kindly attentive to our needs. We will definitely be adding this fine establishment to our short list, and can see why this is a community staple.

A few years ago, we heard about The Joy Bus Diner and the amazing cause behind it. As my wife is a cancer survivor, the idea of a charitable organization that provides food to cancer patients and their caregivers was of great interest to us. We finally decided to try the diner, and oh my goodness--this is no substandard food kitchen. This is top-notch food at reasonable prices and for a great cause. You can't go wrong! We arrived on a Sunday at their new location, which is super nice, VW bus and all. :) While relatively small, it is many times larger than their old location around the corner. You can sit inside at a table, at the bar, or at one of the few patio tables on a nice day. We sat inside for this first visit, and a friendly server took our order. We chose to order from the breakfast menu, and I ordered The Camper: Crispy double-dipped fried chicken thigh smothered in savory gravy and topped with cheese, three slices of Nueske's peppered bacon, and an over-easy egg, served on a housemade butter biscuit. My wife ordered the CSA Scramble: Farm-fresh veggies from Crooked Sky Farms CSA basket scrambled with three eggs, served with fruit, sliced tomato, and 9-grain toast. Needless to say, we were both impressed. The Camper was absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing. The gravy was just special, and there was so much food, I took some home. My wife's dish was fresh and perfect for what she was looking for. Do consider donating to this worthy cause. We chose to, and you can even donate right on your bill so that it goes right on your credit card if you so choose. But even if you just pay for your meal, you are helping out, which is so great about eating at this place. Do yourself a favor and stop in to see the friendly people at The Joy Bus Diner!

Chef Jennifer Caraway created the Joy Bus Diner after losing her friend Joy to cancer. Run mainly by volunteers, the diner has been feeding the community not only in the diner but through home delivered meals for 15 years. Thursday thru Sunday from 7-2, you can grab breakfast or lunch at the diner on 32nd and Shea. You can donate a meal for $15 when you pay for your own meal or check out their website for more donation and volunteer opportunities. Volunteers cook, serve you, and deliver meals to cancer patients in their own homes. We enjoyed a breakfast of fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs benedict, and a quinoa power bowl. The food was fresh, and it felt good knowing that all profits go to such a great cause. Also, in the diner, you'll find @wildthingsbotanicals and can purchase a beautiful plant after your meal. Owner Cherry has been a part of the diner for 7 years and delivers bouquets to home bound cancer patients along with their meals. While in the bathroom, you'll overhear old tv sitcoms. And be sure to checkout articles hanging on the hallway walls that show the amazing impact that Jennifer and her Joy Bus Diner have made over 15 years.

A restaurant that not only serves really good food but also gives back to the community, by providing meals to cancer patients. This space of a diner is beautifully decorated, with inside dining as well as patio seating. You can buy merchandise as well as beautiful potted plants. Our server was sweet, helpful and complimentary. The food came out pretty quickly. The presentation of all that we ordered was attractive as it was delicious. If you haven't tried this place you must put it on your list. Your stomach will be happily satisfied as well as knowing that you've helped this diner help our community of those suffering with cancer.

What a fantastic find and wonderful visit to this darling little diner. We went on a Sunday, it was busy as to be expected, sat outside on the shaded patio and had great service, fabulous food, the best biscuits I've ever had in my life with a pimento cheese spread I added on. We also ordered the avocado toast, Belgian waffle with yummy fruit topping, a side of their breakfast rosemary potatoes, and Shakshouka / Shashouka which is so very rarely on a menu. That was the highlight for me, and I plan to go get more of it when I visit later today! -- The story behind this place and that they use their profits to hand deliver meals to 240+ cancer patients that are housebound, and visit with them is just incredible. And also the plant set up by Cherry, owner of Wild things botanicals is also delightful as can be, and I left with a darling cactus family.

What I appreciate most about this place is that this is a non-profit business. When you dine here it is for a good cause. 100% of the revenue goes back into the charity of delivering chef-inspired meals and visitation to cancer patients in the Valley. I dined here for the first time with my sister and had invited a friend. I honestly was more impressed by the story, history, and volunteer opportunities than I was the food. The food was good, but learning about the overall mission was even greater. I ordered The Joy Bus Burger with bacon and fries. It was visually appealing and tasted good too. The inside has a fun vibe with a pac-man arcade game, the dine-in Joy bus, and many photos on the wall. The volunteer staff is amazing and our waitress took time to share details on the volunteer program when I asked. I definitely want to join in on the awesome way they are serving the community in need.

Had lunch at the fabulous Joy Bus Diner earlier this week, and the word that best describes my experience is "delightful". Everything was delightful from the moment I walked in! That includes the bright dining room filled with enthusiastic staff and volunteers, the Power Bowl salad I had along with a WOW beer, my lovely server Alena, and the happy view from my seat of the adorable Joy Bus filled with beautiful plants! It is ALWAYS delightful to dine at The Joy Bus Diner! What an incredible organization, with a noble mission, delicious food and a superb leader, Jennifer.

Such a cute place. Loved the decor and the vibe. Staff was very nice and inviting. It was a Sunday and they had a DJ. I thought it would be too loud like those other breakfast joints (Hash Kitchen), but it was surprisingly perfect. Was loud enough to enjoy, and yet soft enough to have conversations with your party without shouting. However the music in the ladies restroom was obnoxiously loud. I had a coffee and the Traditional Eggs Benedict. The coffee was good, but I wish they had flavored creamer or flavor pumps (I know that's a personal preference, but it's letting coffee drinkers know it's half n' half only). I added the salmon (+$2) to the meal and the salmon was a bit fishy, so might not have been as fresh as I'd hoped it would be. The "smoked ham" was a sausage patty, which was odd. Now the star of the show, the eggs, were perfectly cooked (I can't stand over cooked poached eggs). That alone was the best part! The hollandaise sauce could have used just a bit more lemon, but was still delicious. Velvety, smooth and creamy. I didn't think I'd miss the English muffin, but I stand corrected. The toast was good, but got soggy as I ate. I missed that English toast chew. Regardless, I'd go back again. More than likely try something else. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't as good as it could be. I'll give them another shot, mainly because of the ambiance and the staff!

Loved this place so much! The food is AMAZING & it is all for a great cause- to help provide meals to home bound cancer patients. Although it has a beautiful sign, it is set back in a shopping center off 32nd St just south of Shea. I drove by for years without really noticing it. Plus, there's a few other great spots competing in the neighborhood. The space is cozy, staff & volunteers are great, there's a cute bus with a dining table and...did I mention the amazing food? Everything coming out of the kitchen had our mouths watering. We picked the Shakshuka and Eggs Benedict. Both great choices. I hear their smash burger is also fantastic as a lunch pick. Worth the stop, even if you have to drive a bit out of the way!

This a great breakfast choice and the story behind it is even better....bit I'll let you read their cancer foundation information to grasp the impact they have on the community. The restaurant is a definite ode to their name as the entire staff, and customers, were filled with joy, caring and attentiveness. It is a friends and family atmosphere with numerous people who are there multiple times a week. The food is fresh, daily, and changes depending what is donated that morning. I ordered a large, fresh OJ, from Ashley, my server, and it was served in a large Mason Jar and was delicious. I then created an omelet and chose onions, bell peppers, jalapeño and cheddar (over Feta). You could taste and see the veggies were cut prior to cooking and the omelet was served with charred, potato chunks, which were delicious. The menu was a la carte so I decided to order some incredibly fresh, fruit and amazing pumpernickel rye toast.The price was crazy... everything for only $19!!I've had omelets that expensive with canned veggies. I'll definitely be back to trade jokes with Joanna, the manager, who made me feel as if I had been dining there for years. Just a beautiful story complimented by a fantastic kitchen and staff. read more

Wow breakfast was amazing. I have been wanting to try this place for years and I am now mad I didn't go sooner. Such a treat. My husband and I shared their special today, brisket with hash and rosemary roasted potatoes and their twist on biscuits and gravy. The gravy had turmeric in it and wow what a blast of flavor. After talking with the servers, you find out the story behind Joy bus . DO NOT GET THE LEMON CREAM PANCAKES!!! They are so beyond salty. Add in the bacon or sausage on top and it's a salt fest in your mouth. No amount of maple syrup was able to take away the salt from the pancakes. The pancakes were salty, the cream was salty, and the bacon was salty. The only palatable thing were the blueberries. I'm hoping the workers taste their own food because they clearly don't. What a shame because the dish has potential. I didn't completely knock it down to one star because the service was friendly but holy cow the workers here need to taste their food before serving! Because those were the saltiness pancakes I ever had! I came here because it said it was partly owned by the same owner as the gladly and citizen and im a big fan of their food. However the food tastes nothing like those two restaurants here. This restaurant is lucky to have them because it's the only reason I'd come back again to give it another try. So the idea of the joybus is great, being able to send 100% of the proceeds to cancer patients is a noble cause, but for the price of what I payed for it lacked that wow fact.. I ordered a simple omelette with two burger patties on the side. Not only did I get charged for a meal for the burger patties but the burgers themselves lacked any flavored and honestly was dry. Doesn't look like much when you walk past it but I was hungry and so decided to check this place out. I'm SO GLAD I did because their food is top notch!! Easily one of the best places I've been to for brunch in Phoenix. We got the Chilaquiles and Shakshooka since that was their daily special. Let me tell you that Shakshooka is outta this world! Get it! You will not regret it. The place itself is small, so be prepared to wait especially on the weekend. The service is decent. No complaints there. They are closed for all of July for renovations and deep cleaning but they should be back open in August of this year according to the waitress will definitely be back once they're open! read more

This place is totally overhyped. The food is just ok. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were seriously undersauced, like couldn't even see it. My mother's food came out cold and they had to bring her a new plate. The waffle was just bad. Better waffles at a hotel breakfast. Also menu said waffles were served with fruit...two thin slices of orange was all it came with. I'd prefer a chain like Black Bear Diner to this place. They gave us a $5 off coupon but I left it at the table because I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I understand that this is a nonprofit, but I'd rather just donate to a cause than pay for mediocre food. read more

Nice quick and easy breakfast spot right off the 51 freeway/ Shea. Nice to find a breakfast place that does t have an hour wait on a Sunday! It has a great mission statement for the purpose off there business and what it's all for. That makes it even better for eating here! This was our first time so we will need to expand more on menu to see what's what. The chicken and biscuit sandwich looked HUGE will have to try next time. read more

I do not recommend this place. I like the fact they give back to cancer patients but the food at this location is not real healthy. The drinks are laced with high Fructose Corn Syrup. My friends and I all tried different things and shared them all. Everyone liked the pancakes we got it without the added powdered sugar on top. The lemon curd was way too sweet for my liking. Wish they had healthier drink items. the other reviews also mentioned the unhealthiness of this restaurant as well. The wait staff were nice. Two stars for the wait staff. read more

I thought the purpose that the Joy Bus diner stands for was great! Customers can enjoy a great meal at a great price and benefit non profit all together! I would say that luck brought me to The Joy Bus Diner, but that would be an understatement. I am a very recent widow and, when I discovered the Joy Bus Diner's mission, I knew I had to come. This place was for me. I persuaded 3 friends to join me on what I called a Sunday brunch food adventure. We didn't know what to expect. It was perfect: Full and bustling client, strangers willing to become future friends. The entire diner cheered when it was announced that a server had just given birth, patrons jumped to look at the phone. The patrons knew the server's name. Truly a community place. When I was overcome with tears of recent grief, the manager consoled and comforted me. Two ladies held my hands. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had the eggs Benedict with a side of toasted potatoes. Everything is cooked to order. Fresh squeezed orange juice ! First time trying out the Joybus Diner. The ambiance was nice, the servers were friendly, but that's where it ended. I ordered the cheeseburger because the waitress said I wouldn't be disappointed. This is where it turned to not so good. The burger came out and I noticed blood dripping down the side. About half of my burger was raw. There was also no seasoning whatsoever on the burger. The bun was also very thick. Bun to burger ratio was terrible. The fries were also underwhelming and the ketchup was overly sweet. Service was a bit on the slow side. History

Established in 2011.

Founded in 2011 and named in honor of my dear friend Joy who struggled with the painstaking side-effects of cancer, ultimately losing her life to this horrific disease.. Joy suffered from cancer in the 4 "L" s (in Joy's words) "Lungs, Liver, Lymphnoids and Loveries". Her drive and determination are inspirational to all those who fight her same battle and if a hot meal and a little compassion can brighten her day then it's the least we can all do as humans and as a part of a community. Millions of cancer patients are left to fend for themselves during this turning point in their lives. The Joy Bus will relieve the burden put on families during this time by providing healthy meals specified to meet our patron's needs. The Joy Bus delivers not only quality meals to your doorstep but compassion and a smiling face.

Hi my name is Joanna and I am the General Manager at The Joy Bus Diner. I have been with the organization for over three years now. My passion is to serve the community and the desire to help those plagued by cancer. A number of people in my family have been touched with this disease, and my time at the Joy Bus began as my way of giving back to all of those that helped my loved ones through their struggle. I have a passion not only for the food that we serve, but most importantly for the community that we serve through our meal program. I hope that you would bless us with your companionship and come in to see what we are all about. Come share a meal, a story, and our mission!

We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. The staff was friendly throughout our stay, and the overall property has a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. We booked an upgraded suite with a separate bedroom and TV room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. While the layout was great, the room itself could use some updates. The bathroom fixtures were older--the Kohler toilet didn't flush well and was a bit noisy, and the tub/shower combo had rounded sides that made it tricky to stand comfortably. The shower water also never got fully hot. The room had a slightly musty smell, and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning. The balcony screen door didn't close tightly, which let a few flies in, and access to the second floor required two sets of stairs since there's no elevator in that section. Even with those issues, the resort's location, views, and overall vibe made the stay enjoyable. With some room refreshes and a bit more maintenance attention, this could easily be a standout property. The setting alone is worth experiencing.

I was looking for a good staycation while also earning American Airlines AAdvantage miles and…read moreloyalty points to maintain my status for another year. I found a great AAdvantage Hotel deal at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort and booked it. While it was a great success of a visit in terms of AAdvantage miles and loyalty points, my actual experience at the hotel itself was less to be desired due to the customer service and a big snafu on their part. I also have Hilton Gold status, though as I booked the hotel through a third party site (AAdvantage Hotels), I could see the stay and the stay history in my Hilton app, but I did not receive any benefits for staying there, which was fine as I didn't expect any anyone. I arrived in person to check in and already reserved and prepaid for a King 1 Bedroom Standard Suite, which had a nice view and reasonably spacious room (but not too much larger than a regular room at another hotel). The room was certainly not upgraded though there was parking available right in front of the entrance. I did not receive anything else at check-in nor did it appear that I'd get my regularly complimentary water. I did pay the daily resort charge which includes high speed internet access, access to the Falls Water Village, an hour at the tennis/pickleball court, an hour at the afternoon golf practice facility, two hours for a mountain bike rental, 20% off seasonal spa services, and 15% off select golf apparel. While I didn't use it, I had easy view and access to the Falls Water Village where you could lounge and play all day on their sun-marked terrace where you could find free-form pools, hot tubs, and cabanas. They even have a 138-foot enclosed water slide. When I checked out, I was told that a bill would be sent to me shortly since I did it on the app early, and when I received the bill, there was a charge for my room at the restaurant at the top of the hill called A Different Point of View. The catch is that I never went to eat there during my stay (or at any onsite restaurant since I live in the area and had my meals offsite). I reached out to the hotel who insisted that I did go there to eat. I promised them I didn't eat anywhere onsite and that they need to look at the receipt and see if it actually has my room number. They confirmed it did and that this meant I ate there. I told them to find my name on it and let me know if it was on there. After several more back and forth conversations, they confirmed it wasn't me and would remove the charge. They then mistakenly charged me double. Then they removed one charge, but it took more than a week before they removed the other charge. By the end of the exchanges, it felt like they were blaming me for their own mistake. While the resort is aged and rather pleasant, there certainly are training issues regarding the customer service offered at this property. I do not plan on staying here again in the future.

The first time when I came, the service was impeccable - they were nice, attentive, and patient. The second time was a bit disappointing. It took a really long time for one of my friends' dishes to come. But when we checked with them, we were told "it will come when it's ready." I understand that they were busy at that moment. But they could have told us in a better way. Overall, I always look forward to dinning here. And this is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in Phoenix!

During football season, they make sure the games are on, which makes this a perfect Sunday brunch spot for my wife and me. She gets brunch, I get football. Actually, that's not entirely true. I also get brunch, because brunch is delicious, and anyone who disagrees can go suck an Eggs Benedict. Great food, great atmosphere, and one of my favorite places to spend a Sunday morning.

Bring yourself something to do since there's not much to walk around in the area while you wait. Overall, some of the best pho, appetizers, and drinks in the valley with that traditional and authentic flavor. Also, it always feels good to support your local family-run businesses.

Our first visit was this past Saturday (of many more to come!) and had a great lunch. I had the burrito with red chili sauce & cheese (wonderful) and be sure to ask for a knife because it is sizable. My wife had the Rueben and to quote her... "Best Rueben I've had in years." She enjoyed it so much that she arranged to take her mother next Tuesday so that they can both have a Rueben (not fair, because I am at work). What a gem! We stumbled upon this place while looking for a good breakfast, and am extremely impressed with both the quality of the food, and the integrity of the purpose. You can feel good about eating here, as the funds go back to supporting cancer patients food deliveries, plus it's adorable, service was great and the food was inventive and delicious. It's probably best of Phoenix for breakfast and lunch. read more

We fell in love with the concept, and the food was good, but the service needs a little work. We saw food sit in the window for a long time and they appeared just abit off....a gentleman next to us had 3 scrambled eggs and it took 20 minutes....but they sat in the window for 7 minutes....(I own 2 restaurants in Scottsdale, so I time everything :)) But overall a great experience and we will be back a ton. read more
