We were looking for sort of authentic cuisine and happened to walk by this restaurant. The ambience is not anything spectacular just like many other fast food joints. The service is not good. We have ordered baba ghanosh as appetizers and I order afghan hamburger and she ordered lamb gyros platter. The food were both mediocre and problem was the gyro platter the lamb was covered with thick weird sauce that wasn't anything that I've seen in other afghan cuisine. The lamb pieces were on a rather big portion of cold rice which wasn't pleasant to eat and needed to be heated!! We asked the hostess to do that for us but she was rather surprised that we requested the dish to be heated or prepared again.....she said repeatedly that the plate can't be cold because they just made it.....I finally asked her to taste it, then she decided to finally take the plate back and warm it for us. This is my go-to food delivery when I'm trapped in the school computer lab into the wee hours of the night because I procrastinated and for some reason want my life to be terrible right before an exam! I order the chicken shawarma over rice, with a side of hot sauce, and it is so delicious. It's flavorful and juicy, comes with a yummy white sauce (vague, I know, but trust me), and the hot sauce adds the perfect amount of kick (worth the extra 0.35 cents). AND to top things off, they add fries! And they're battered! Like curly fries, but straight. Amazing. Would recommend for your delivery needs. My friend also swears by their chicken signature bowls, but she is much more adventurous re: vegetables than I am. One day I'll go to Kabul Grill in person, but until then, I owe much to the delivery people who save my life so regularly pre-exam day. This one's for you. read more

This hit the spot when I needed it to. After getting an unsatisfying falafel sandwich, I was hankering for something genuine. I was excited to find a place that seemed like a local choice with folks who cook genuinely Mediterranean goodies. I saw they had a special for a chicken wrap, fries, and a soda for around 10 bucks so I went with that. I added a side of falafel because...well the craving was real. I was honestly expecting a smaller wrap knowing it was a combo, but they didn't play around. The wrap was filled with marinated lean chicken breast, served with chopped salad wrapped in house baked naan. What I appreciated the most was the sauces. It was packed with sauces that was guaranteed to make a mess- which I love. Also. These fries are bomb. They are perfectly crap and soft which are just my favorite. They are the kind of crisp where it seems as though they are covered in a kind of batter so they were just perfect. The falafel was also exactly what I wanted. This is a review for the Kabul Fresh Grill Delivery (via GrubHub. UberEats apparently doesn't deliver out to Baltimore County). Tonight was one of those nights we needed a comfort meal delivered - for me and my husband that was the gyro platter from Kabul Grill. Flavorful combination of gyro meat, hummus, with a tzatziki sauce on buttery rice. Out of this world. Great portions. Even gave us two bonus naan that we didn't order! The fries that come with the dish (and oh yes you need fries +rice) were crisp and perfectly seasoned and a hint of paprika. This time we tried the Aushak (ravioli with mint yogurt and beef topped with a lentil sauce). 5 stars! It seemed like a humble dish but the mix of cilantro and mint yogurt was oh so good. For dessert we always get the Kaddu (pumpkin grilled with brown sugar) which is technically an appetizer. To top everything off double mango lassis. Their mango lassis are just the right thickness and mix of yogurt- caution they are on the thicker side and the straw that comes with them is a little small. But 100% would recommend over and over again. P.S No problems with delivery. Everything was sealed nicely. Great presentations with see through plastic containers. My boyfriend and I ate here after visiting the aquarium. The atmosphere was fresh and welcoming. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We did not wait long before consuming the PERFECT meal! I've gotten delivery from the Kabul a few times, and each time had a good experience. I've resorted to getting their Signature Bowl with chicken every time - reminds me of a Chipotle bowl with a Mediterranean twist, and the variety of flavors and textures keeps the meal interesting. It is also enough for 2 meals for me, which makes it very well worth the price. Only complaint is that the food is often times overly salty. It has never been unpalatable, but has definitely been noticeable. Other than that, delivery has always been within the estimated time frame, and food arrives warm. Will order again! read more

Was in town for work and arrived fairly late and was eating alone - so I was looking for a fast casual place open late on a Friday night not too far from my hotel. This place had decent reviews and was open until 10 so it fit the bill. Clean and roomy and the price was certainly fair but the kibbidah (ground meat kebabs) were pretty flavorless ! Once you doses it with the green sauce they give you and score some hot sauce it was better but I'm used to better flavors and fresh herbs to help it along. The app I got was odd. Spinach sautéed (tasty), cooked pumpkin w a white sauce on top (also tasty but really just a chunk of steamed pumpkin/squash) and four small fried samosas w potato's. All pretty bland as well. With a fountain drink and top it was $20+ so fair but nothing to write home about. read more

OMG, I'd never had Afghani food before and I'm sad I didn't get a chance to come back a second time because the food was amazing! The trio sample has the pumpkin, spinach, and samosas. All three were great, full of flavor, I couldn't choose a favorite. The bowl was also really good! The meat is very well seasoned, the hummus was so smooth and tasty I wish it had more, the dressing was delicious and didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. I ordered the falafel platter and asked for the hot sauce and tahini sauce at the side. I even PAID EXTRA for the extra hot sauce. I received my order as pictured below. Disclaimer; I am rating this establishment in regards to delivery service and quality. I have not eaten at the physical location. I struggled with choosing 2 vs 3 stars but decided that 2 stars accurately reflects the delivery rating. Since they are located in downtown Baltimore, a large portion of their business will be delivery and take-away, and therefore I think this perspective most useful for my review. I have tried multiple Afghan and/or kabob restaurants in the Baltimore area over the years. I was excited to try this one for the first time tonight for delivery, so I chose a large sample of items to try. The Aushak was disappointing on multiple levels. It was delivered in a plastic round container. As you may be able to imagine, soft ravioli with yogurt and chickpeas served in a round container become unappealing to look at and difficult to eat. To make matters worse the ravioli was undercooked. The naan looked well prepared but they obviously gave me a serving prepared earlier. I give a lot of leeway for delivery naan; it doesn't have to be crisp and piping hot. Obviously travel time effects the consistency of the bread. But this naan was soggy and cold. They should add a batch of their freshest naan at the last minute before sending the order out for delivery. That way it has some warmth and a nicer texture upon arrival. The salata suffered from soggy tomatoes and over-ripe cucumbers. Otherwise unremarkable. The chicken and lamb combo platter had the standard sweet-spiced rice and side salad. The chicken was decent. The lamb had too much fat/gristle. Either they used low quality lamb or didn't remove enough fat prior to cooking it. The lamb seasoning was also a bit heavy on the garlic. I would be willing to try this location again, if I was in the area, for a sit down dinner. If I do so then I will update my review. But there are simply much better options for delivery, some with the exact same menu options. read more

I also got a mango lassi which was creamy and sweet, and had the kabob been more spicy would likely have been a welcome relief. My only complaints were that a) the kebab was not nearly as spicy as advertised, or spicy at all really. b) the decorating is a little sparse? who cares, you're here for the food. I usually order the Lamb Gyro which comes with seasoned fries. The naan, meat and vegetables are notably fresher and tastier than some of the gyros that I have tried in Baltimore. The seasoned fries are also very good, they're spicier than most French fry seasonings which I really like. I've also ordered the falafels, and they are fresher and tastier than others I've tried. The establishment itself is very comforting too. The staff is very friendly and will always answer questions or accommodate seating arrangements. The inside of the restaurant is clean and bright, so dining in is always a pleasant experience. Everything is consistently made fresh and is sold at a very reasonable cost ($8.50 for lamb or falafel gyro, and the fries are included), and this has become a go-to spot for lunch.
