My neighbor informed me I had a leak on my side yard with water coming onto his driveway. Based on the a Yelp reviews, I booked an appointment via their webpage to look into the problem. Within a few minutes they contacted me and sent out a technician, Michael. He was very thorough, turning off all water systems and main water. The leak was still there. He was able to determine the leak was actually on my neighbors main water line and the line crosses into my property. They contacted my neighbor and promptly the hole was dug, line repaired and ground restored. Price seemed fair (plumbing issues expensive) but great service! read more

I was told that they dont send a master plumber to fix my sink/faucet installation. This reason i wanted this paticular plumber is that my friend recommended him. Called them late on a Saturday and still got someone to answer the phone and she was VERY helpful and got us scheduled right away. Even called back when and earlier day opened up. The young man showed up on time, very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and did a great job in no time at all. He re-did the plumbing to allow us to install a new kitchen sink. He even lifted the sink out, after we had seated in place, so he could caulk underneath the sink so it would not show on the counter. We did not realize to do this and were just going to apply caulk to outside. I will ONLY use Katy Plumbing for all my plumbing needs from now on. Called and set up an emergency appointment for a leak that appeared to be originating from a hot water heater in attic. (Given it was a last minute emergency, I fully understood that their previously scheduled and active appointments were a priority. After all, it wasn't their fault my hot water heater was leaking. ) They gave me a 3 hour window of a tech arriving. Their office called 30 minutes prior to advise Mark on his way. Which I appreciated. Mark showed up minutes later. We discussed the issue and he went to work. Polite, informed, thorough, courteous and respected my home. For those people who have plumbing issues and feel you are slighted because a plumber can't show up instantaneously ... I suggest you learn the trade yourself. Plumbers are one of the most sought after trades in a huge city like Houston. And for those complaining about the prices ... just live without your hot water if you don't agree with them (and I am certain you don't work for free in your profession). I wish I read these reviews before calling them. I paid for an emergency call on the weekend for backup sewer service, they came within the hour ( the only positive thing about this experience), started working on the outside clean out, after 30 minutes of video and snaking I was told that there is a lot of grease built up and I needed a Jet service which they would do on another day. They charged me $125 for the emergency service plus $250 for their work on that day. I was told that I need to pay them an additional $1300 for the Jet service as it is the only way to clear the grease built up. Next day I called another plumber, he put his camera and showed me that the grease is still there and Katy Pluming did not do a thing, he laughed when I told him about the Jet service, according to him it is only done in restaurants and such. For $240 Rescue Rooter cleaned up the grease and the sewer line is working as new. read more

1-16-14 the incompetent tech and another stranger arrived at my house, unannounced, creepy at best. The tech stated he was probably going to get fired for his gross negligence. He stated he was responsible for failing to check and see if he had properly screwed the gas connection hose. Explained to him to not put another family in peril, life is precious and this job could have been fatal. George, the owner of the company called the following day stating that he had had some issues in the past, but that he was a master plumber and family oriented and this stuff unfortunately happens. Plumbing imposters? Told him the incompetence and dangerousness of the situation was careless and to not run the $225.00 trip charge through my bank, but they did. Received refund ten days later, nightmare still lingers, lesson learned. read more

Its not often that I have been HAD but this was one of those times. I called Katy Plumbing for a leak in my 3/4 Hp garbage disposal that is only three years old. It was an emergency on Mothers Day and because my house is up for sale and we were having an open house this same day, I needed help. Their repairman came out and looked under my sink and said "Wow, I sorry, but we don't carry that brand of repair parts in our inventory. But I can sell you a new disposal unit its a 7/8 hp and is great." So, I needed it fixed so I agreed. I was shocked when I saw that the new disposal unit was the exact same brand he took out! The drain gasket connector that was broken was an exact match as the one on the new unit. To add insult to injury, I was charged $646.00 for a unit that I could have bought myself for $346.00! How can you sell and repair a brand of garbage disposals without carry the parts. I sincerely believe that the repairman gets a commission on what he sells... he gets the commission and I got the shaft! read more

The whole repair took around one hour. They are very nice and professional but their charges are completely outrageous. I called three plumbers Sunday afternoon to unclog a plumbing stoppage. Katy Plumbers was the first to arrive. They wanted $330 plus $125 emergency weekend fee (not to mention tech pushing for $600 fix also). Had another plumber call about this time and charge $165 to do the same work without extra fee. Katy plumbers still wanted their $125 just to DIAGNOSE! Even Rescue Rooter diagnoses for free!! Another neighbor had them quote to replace their sewer line. These guys were the highest quote. In order to save the estimate trip, I sent emails with pictures and detailed description of what I needed to be done to four different plumbing companies. Every time they would charge more than $250 and put some sophisticated plumbing jargon in the invoice for the work done. However the tenant would say they just worked for 10-20 min. This time there was a kitchen faucet leak and they provided a quote for $850 stating faucet needs to be replaced.
