If you're looking to support and buy local, Kealopiko is your shop! Made on Moloka'i with plenty of aloha, this little shop has definitely come a long way since starting in 2006. Their easy to wear, Hawaiian graphic designs are all unique and one-of-a-kind as each piece is hand screened and assembled right here in the islands. The fun colors and original designs all work together to create fun combinations while also offering just enough variety for everyone to find their own unique style. From mens aloha shirts and shorts to womens blouses, dresses, and rompers, they also have plenty of choices for keiki and for the home as well. On a most recent visit, I stopped by on the first day of their opening at their NEW Monsarrat location. Although tiny in size, this biz was overflowing with aloha; from when I walked in, all throughout my visit and even upon leaving, the staff was fantastic, friendly, and kind. Always offering me help, fielded all of my questions, and even offering me great advice (because I'm indecisive, lol). Parking here is pretty easy with two stalls right in front. I just so happened to be coming from the KCC farmer's market and found street parking on Monsarrat not far from the shop and walked. All in all, I love this local biz. If you're looking for authentic aloha wear, this is the perfect place!

They sell their matcha tins indoors as well as keep it Kaimuki merchandise so if you ever wanted to come by and pick it up you can find a selection here. I was assisted to try on a few dresses. The dresses feel soft and are flattering. What I love the most is the dress I chose has pockets. I was able to find a matching shirt for my husband and a dress my for 5 year old. The price seems a lot, but its not. It's made in Hawaii. Made in house. So the QUALITY and WORKMANSHIP is what you are getting from it. Many people ask where I get my clothes. A lot of my favorite pieces are from this place. The quality is worth the money spent. There is only a few places you can get an outfit that will look good, last long and makes you feel good in it. This place is will always be my go to. A lot of the clothing pieces travel well and are versatile. You can look beach ready and dress it up with the right accessories and shoes. Last purchase I made was for a dress item that was too long. They provided alterations so I got the dress and a week later picked it up. It was perfect! Overall, ladies you can't go wrong here. The have flattering tops, pants and dresses. They have some pieces for the family. They even have jewelry to accessorize. They even do alterations.

It's always nicely layered with the ube and matcha and the workers here are usually nice and friendly. However today when I got the ube matcha, the girl working wasn't the friendliest for whatever reason. She wasn't very welcoming, nor have an overall positive vibe. I get everyone maybe has bad days, but she was saying "have a good day" in a friendly manner to other customers when they left. When she gave me my drink, she set it on the counter, turned the iPad around, and started doing something else without saying anything. I said thank you and she said "you're welcome" in a dead tone. A "thank you for coming" would've been better for a $9 matcha, that I think wasn't made very well. It was lacking in presentation in comparison to other times I've been. If you see the picture, that was from a time I had previously come. I forgot to take a picture today, but it was mixed and just very much lacking in presentation and taste (mostly tasted like the ube). I'm not gonna rate this business poorly because usually I love their matcha and their shop is cute, but the service today did not impress me. This was for 12/28/24 the employee with blonde hair.

Arrive very early. The line starts well before sunrise. On Tuesday, the first person arrived at 4:50 AM; I got there at 6:00 AM and was already in the third section of the line. Another day I arrived at 3:45 AM thinking I would be first, but someone had been there since 3:30 AM. Small sizes are especially difficult to get. If you line up before 8:00 AM, you'll generally have a better chance at Medium through XXL. 2. They may open before the posted time. Although the store lists a 10:00 AM opening, it has opened around 9:15 AM. 3. Use the next-day exchange option. If your preferred size is unavailable, buy an available size and return around 9:00 AM the following day to exchange it. Keep in mind that exchanges are only for swapping sizes. You cannot purchase additional items during that visit. And since Small sells out quickly, it may still be difficult to exchange into one. Overall, the staff is friendly and professional, especially considering they manage huge crowds all day and answer the same questions repeatedly. Great store, but treat it like an early-morning event rather than a casual shopping stop. Value - get ready to pay for an arm & leg: - T-shirts: $45 - Hoodies: $130 - Zipper Hoodies: $140 - Jackets: $200+
