Amazing experience! We stopped in to celebrate our son's birthday and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and food. Our daughter has a food allergy, and they went above and beyond to assure her safety. When the server brought our salads out, our server Natalia, brought our daughter a small plate of vegetables to make her feel included and give her tummy a little food while waiting. After our meal, the waitress brought our cake for our son. Knowing that our daughter couldn't have it, she brought out a special dessert just for her. Once we were seated too close to another noisy party in the bar so this time we were seated in the dining room. 100% difference. Bar area service was super slow and the server forgot to give us bread until like 20 minutes later. It showed up when our appetizers arrived lol. Dining area service was faster and more attentive. Had their strip-loin medium rare Chicago style w garlic confit butter and it was great!! Maybe could have had some maldon salt to finish but I loved trying their slightly charred on the outside chicago grill style. It gave it a nice crust w a bit more flavor without it tasting absolutely burnt. Must try if you haven't! The inside was still a perfect medium rare. Good job keg! Dear Keg Sherway... what happened? I will start by saying I have been coming to this Keg location on a frequent basis since it first opened, and prior to that when it was located at the West Mall and Bloor St. I sincerely hope the management (or better yet, corporate) reads this review, and all others saying the same thing, and actually does something to correct this. Within the last few weeks, the quality of the food has plummeted, and menu items have changed dramatically. I am (or was) a big fan of the Keg Burger when I wasn't feeling like ordering a steak. Don't bother ordering it. It is NOT the same burger as it used to be. I am not sure what they are trying to go for with this new burger, but I suggest they quickly scrap it, and revert back to their former burger offering. Before you ask "who goes to a steakhouse and orders a burger?", their old burger truly was something great. Those who have ordered it in the past know how juicy and delicious it was. The burger used to have real freshly sliced pickles, tomato, leaf lettuce, onions, thick freshly grilled bacon, and more, not to mention the delicious patty. They've removed it all, and replaced it with lame store bought sweet pickles straight from a jar, scantly portioned shredded lettuce, and a sauce that tastes like Big Mac sauce, but has some strange chemical taste. It completely overpowers the patty. It even looks like a Big Mac. You know when you lift the bun off pretty much any McDonald's offering, only to see the tiny portioned vegetables and oodles of sauce? That's pretty much what they've done here. It's not something to take pride in. Please bring back the old burger. The new burger honestly sucks, to put it bluntly. I thought their previous burger was a bit pricey, but at least it was delicious and well presented. You got what you paid for. This new burger is a blatant ripoff, and I've seen better presentations with McDonald's burgers. I mean seriously... It seems like this burger was designed to maximize their profits at the expense of the customer. We get it. Businesses in Canada are suffering for many reasons, but don't take it out on the customer. Cut costs elsewhere. Not your product! Other dinner party members weren't pleased with their steaks, they were tough and very fatty compared to normal. Prime rib slider buns came burnt, and I mean very burnt. I am no chef, but those wouldn't have left my kitchen. I'd feel embarrassed serving them to paying customers. I give one star because I can't leave zero stars. That single star goes to the only star of our meal, the waitress. She was phenomenal, and very understanding of the situation. She noticed the issues as well, as did the manager who made the situation bearable. The staff was all A+, and I feel bad for them, because they are going to get the brunt of customer complaints when stuff like this happens. If it wasn't for them, the meal would have been much worse. I've attached a photo of the old burger, versus the new burger... they don't even look like they are from the same establishment! Expectation vs. Reality! It's comically bad. As for the ambiance, the music was good and there were no complaints there. But I come to the Keg to eat a nice meal. (Dare I say the leather chairs may have been softer than the steaks?) I used to go to The Keg all the time for dinner because I have a friend who always wants to go. I don't eat steak so I always order the Blackened Chicken which I think was thigh meat with skin. I loved their Blackened Chicken, especially from Oakville and Dixon Rd locations. Went to The Keg tonight at Sherway Gardens and ordered the Blackened Chicken only to find out they use chicken breast now with no skin. The chicken was dry and didn't taste like the previous Blackened Chicken. Also, not sure why they always serve beets as the vegetable. I don't know a lot of people who like beets. I wish the Keg would stop messing with dishes that were previously good and making them taste worse. Not going back unless they revert back to the previous version of Blackened Chicken. Will get my Blackened Chicken from Joey now. Way better. read more

Was meeting a friend for dinner who wanted to go to Cactus Club. The wait was incredibly long for Cactus Club (2+ hours) so we grabbed a table at The Keg on their patio. The wait to sit was short and we were the first patrons there before tables began filling up. Dining at The Keg with covid allots you 90 minutes. Our server had forgotten to tell us this but we overheard another server informing other patrons that were being seated nearby. Tables are spaced out. Servers wear masks and patrons are expected to wear masks upon entry but take them off when seated. We went at 7pm. They were introducing a new lunch menu, which was rolled out on August 17 that we were allowed to order from that evening. We each ordered an item from that menu; steak salad and crispy chicken burger. My steak salad was very filling and tasty. The meat was tender and melted in my mouth. Even the greens were loaded with avocado, tortilla strips and mixed vegetables. My friend's crispy chicken burger looked so good too, she said it hit the spot. We ordered nachos for the table and they were massive and fully loaded. Both of us had drinks, which were also superb. Being immersed in conversation had me eating slower than usual so the waitress provided a nudge and informed us we had 15 minutes remaining. Upon wrapping up my meal, we paid, then left. I love this Keg location and have always had a great experience, but today was different. A year ago I went with my visiting family from Europe and we had a good time. Today we went late afternoon , without a reservation, they offered us one table in a dark corner of the bar with the tv blaring. We asked for something else.....lots of empty tables around. No, it's that table or outside (30 c ). The lounge area was mostly empty...can we sit there. No. Some people left the lounge area....can we sit there...No. meanwhile people without reservations were being sat there. I understand not having a reservation, but the attitude was rude and unhelpful completely. No attempt to even talk to us politely. So we left. read more

Went here for an early dinner and Lindsay, our server, was outstanding. He welcomes us with open arms, went over the menu in detail, and took our order quickly, making some suggestions. I can't remember the last time I had such great service like that! We ordered wine, and the winter special of 18oz Kansas City steak with double baked potato, and it was delicious. The wine came to our table quickly and the entrees as well. The baked potato with sour cream and butter baked in, was so creamy and tasty. The steak has excellent flavor with the Keg seasoning and black pepper. It had a nice charred taste to it too. We will definitely be coming back here. First time here...The Keg Steakhouse and Bar is located at Sherway Gardens mall, just across from Catcus Club. We had a reservation at The Keg and unfortunately Amanda couldn't find it but she helped us out and we got our table. All of the staff are wearing masks, only the outdoor patio and the patio upstairs are open. There are fans everywhere while the patio windows are open, there's no A/C, so this was perfect and actually the first restaurant I've seen with a rooftop patio that did that. +1 here for sure! Our server, Katherine, was very nice. We had a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, and some table bread to start. I had the burger, we weren't very hungry but we just had a little bite to eat. Girlfriend got a small salad and a watermelon cosmo. Both tasted great. Katherine did forget my extra side of mayo but as requested, no pickle in my burger. JOEY restaurants had made that mistake before! Great table, friendly staff, service was on par. Management is great. Overall, it was amazing. Only thing was they don't have a happy hour menu like JOEY, Cactus Club, similar restaurants, however, it's a tiny bit classier. 4/5! I got a burger, scallops wrapped in bacon, Bill Miners pie and Creme Brulee as take out. I don't have much to say about the burger or scallops, they were pretty standard. The Bill Miners pie lived up to the hype, it was sooooo good. The slice was humungous too! Think mocha chocolate ice cream cake topped with nuts and fudge sauce. Since I got it as take out, I just kept it in my freezer and ate it over several days. I can't really eat sweets much so I only ate 2-3 bites at a time but I felt happiness every time The picture/presentation of the creme brulee was hilarious. We took the family out for my sister-in-law's bday a few weeks back. There were 4 adults and 2 kids and we had all agreed that this was the worse food experience we've had at the keg. We started with the calamari which was not good. This tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I ordered the prime rib which was usually a go to for me and it was ok, but not up to the normal standards. We all had fries on the side of our meal which were absolutely horrible, this again tasted like they either didn't clean the oil in the fryer or was sitting out for hours. $500 for a disappointing meal We will not be coming back to this keg and potentially any other. read more

I am a very big fan of the keg and have been to multiple locations now. It has always had a very good chain in my opinion, and I very much enjoy the food. I ordered a prime rib and my girlfriend ordered the striploin. It took them a very long time to prepare the food, and when it came out, the striploin turned out to be medium rare when it was ordered as medium. For my 14oz prime rib, one piece came as medium rare which was delicious but they hid a medium-well portion hiding underneath which I did not ask for.... Another problem I saw was that there was one fruit fly flying around our table. The drinks were good and desert very large and wonderful to share. Service was okay, we were mostly ignored. The lights were too dim and it was super cold in the restaurant. However they had the music so loud that I had to yell for my fellow guests to hear me. We requested the music be turned down 3 times but no luck. Soft drinks came in large shot glasses? For $3.50 could you at least give me a can - 350mL. Drink was half full - 50mL at best. My plate wasn't much better. Steak was tiny, potato was dry, veggies were wilted and over cooked. Steak was really sinuous & fatty. I expected better and at least to be Medium- it bled all over my plate - very unappetizing for medium cook. Our waitress was nice (when we did see her) and they gave us free ice cream cake that we didn't eat (we specifically said no dessert for a reason.) What a waste. I haven't been to the Keg since this location was at Bloor & West Mall - I could get a better experience for a local pub for a quarter of the price. Try the Cactus Club next door or somewhere else. The Keg, it is a love/hate relationship as they have more of a corporate feel and have lost the personal side of things. We use to be regulars at the Keg when it was at the West Mall location. They had amazing staff and the manager would come by every time to see how our dinner was and chat. When it move to this current location all the old staff seemed to be gone. They have also changed the quality and quantity of food. They had the best Caesar salad dressing which had a nice garlic taste and was creamy with bacon bits. They have changed this to a no frills equivalent dressing with no bacon bits. They also use to have a separate little dish with mushrooms with the keg classic and last night I had a whopping three mushrooms. With the Billy Miner it was good but they barley put any Carmel or chocolate on it which is another change in practice. The biggest reason we barley go is they do not take reservations on the weekend. I do not understand why but this discourages us from going as I do not want to wait 1.5 hours for a table. Our server was awesome, the food was cooked to order. The Keg needs to get back to serving quality foods and stop cheeping out with quality and quantity. read more

I'm not really a chain restaurant kind of gal however I do enjoy The Keg and this location is by far my favourite. This location opened up just in the past couple of years so is very new and the decor is cozy/romantic. Our server, Cody, was really awesome. Super polite, friendly, professional and knowledgeable as well. He recommended great wines which we really enjoyed and also checked in on us the perfect amount of times. My mom and I very much enjoyed our visit. We each selected a classic shrimp cocktail to start - very good. She opted for the lamb chop special while I went with the pistachio salmon for my main. She loved her meal and I really enjoyed my salmon - cooked perfectly! We ended off our meal with a slice of cheesecake. Insider tip : apparently you can get a mix of toppings on the cheesecake slice - we went with cherries and almonds but you can also pick fudge or caramel as well! My friend and I came in one Monday evening, to celebrate with wine and desserts. We ordered baked brie (cheese is always a good idea! Except they could've added more toast), Billy Miner pie (it's a nice generous serving and delicious), creme brulee (creamy) with a bottle of champagne and a bottle of merlot. came here for a birthday dinner for my partner and it was a bit of an experience. i didn't book a reservation(cause who does that?) and we ran into some problems on arrival. the first desk told us that the place was packed, on both floors, and nothing will be free the evening that we showed up. after much back and forth, we were told to check in with the lounge? we checked in with the lounge and the lounge told us to try and find a table, if we found one we could eat there. so we literally walked around and sure enough we ended up finding a single two seat table as a last resort, and we managed to beat two other couples by mere seconds to the table. we sat down and we were instantly greeted by a waiter, we placed the order and we were bombarded by bread, we turned away about 4 different servers trying to push bread onto us. the food was very good, everything was hot and fresh, the shrimp was the main event for me personally, great size and flavor. we finished up our food and went home after such a grand meal. the only negative was the running around to get a table at the start, "no go here" "no go here instead" "no go here instead" very annoying to deal with. transit options are the buses 15 evans, 80 queensway, and the 123 sherway. lots of parking at this location as this is attached to the mall, you might not find parking right in-front of the restaurant, but this is right next to one of the parking garage's for the mall would come back, and maybe book a reservation next time ha! read more

Visited this place a couple of weeks ago with some friends on my brother's recommendation. He said that he had a lot of good service and food there so I thought I would take some friends. Boy, was that a mistake. This place got one extra star because we were seated very quickly. The Cactus Club across the street was packed and so we decided on trying this location. 1) The service was terrible. Throughout the night, we barely saw our waiter. I don't know if it was because they were understaffed or if it was because it was after the mall closed and everyone was tired, but it was terrible. 2) Food was slow. We waited quite a long time for our food. we thought they had forgotten our order and asked. they said it was on its way out a couple of times. 3) We were sharing some meals as there were kids. Cutlery and sharing plates came out dirty. We had to ask for replacements and as our wait staff wasn't coming around, it took some time. The food was actually pretty good and we always go to the Keg up in Richmond Hill where we live or in Brantford, but the one at Sherway just isn't up to par. Long; but based on Atmosphere/Experience/Quality of Food: I visited this location for a dinner on a Monday evening, thinking it would be relatively quiet/intimate. We've visited The Keg on multiple occasions - as it was our go-to for celebrations - but we were incredibly disappointed with our experience. The first thing we had noticed after being seated was the sheer number of people in t-shirts, flip flops, and shorts. I mean, The Keg was typically a more fine-dining type of restaurant in the area, and as such, always dressed the part. I understand it's attached to the mall, however I hadn't anticipated it not have ANY sort of dress code. Behind our table was a table full of people who were shouting, yelling, and being obnoxiously loud (even making a nearby baby wail and scream from being startled). It was like a Bachelor Party gone wild in The Keg.. on a Monday night when people are trying to enjoy their Dinner. As we received our Meals (2 Prime Rib Meals - Medium, Medium-Rare), we had one of the lowest cuts of meat I'd ever had at The Keg (abnormally fatty, the marbling being hard and chewy). I'm unsure as to whether it was because it was a Monday Night at 7PM... or if this is the new standard at this location. Typically, at other fine-dining restaurants we've visited, the Managers would come across the Dining room, checking in on the patrons, and at that time - I had expected to share more about my experience... except that the Manager did not come by (as was our usual experience at The Keg in other locations across the City). I am honestly truly, truly disappointed in the experience overall and honestly would not attend this location ever, ever again. 3.5*, bumped up for Keg service which is usually pleasant. NOTE: No reservations on Friday & Saturdays. Arrived just after 7pm on Friday, was told the wait would be 30-45mins, but we were texted in less than 30mins. Texting system worked like a charm! You were even able to see how much longer the wait would be. I guess this is where people from the suburbs for special occasions? Server asked me whether or not we were celebrating anything and this question perplexed me. To me, the Keg is just a slightly overpriced chain restaurant. In fact, I completely forgot that it was a steakhouse until I mentioned to my bf that there weren't many vegetarian options. Menu is quite succinct and it's online. Anything that's not an App, is around the $20+. If you're vegetarian, there are only a handful of options. Lighting is dim, it's fairly noisy (not intimate by any means), it's a full house, and this location is new. Food was good, no complaints. They offer free, hot bread to start off your meal. $18 for a burger is sorta up there. At least it was juicy and not dry, and bun was fluffy and soft. I can't speak for the steak because I didn't have it this time 'round. No surprises here as you sorta know what you're getting into, it's The Keg. read more

Not long ago the Keg near the intersection of Bloor and The West Mall shut down. It was a completely old school location and structure (mansion type) not very different from the location near Carlingview and Dixon by the airport. This Keg (replacement?) is a completely different scene altogether. To go along with the completely new north section of Sherway Gardens comes two restaurants (Joey and The Keg) that while attached to the mall are not accessible from the indoor of the mall itself. The entrance for The Keg is actually closer to the Hudson's Bay side on the north side near the new garage's north side entrance that faces the Queensway side. The footprint of the restaurant is quite large visually from the exterior. While there's the main dining lounge on the main floor there's stairs and an elevator that lead to the 2nd floor which is a covered although exterior type patio, yet covered. The east and north side of this structure are open air with a great view looking west and north. You can see the mass of the Mississauga city center from the upper level. So as far as the ambiance this new location is a whole new look and style from the old school Keg type locales. I like the new look and it feels much more with the times. As far as the food goes it's kind of like how it was before which is not different and not great but not horrible either. I had ordered a prime rib large cut which is what I had just a few weeks back at the airport location. For some reason this cut seemed much more cooked than I'm used to. I thought it was going to be more rare but it wasn't. It was still good though. I like their prime rib and I always get a bit of whatever my wife doesn't finish so I was able to have half her filet the other day as well. The service was good here. We were well looked after and by Cody. When the weather's nice get a spot upstairs if you can. It's much more open and the view is great. Overall the experience at this Keg is good. I like the new look and the new feel of this contemporary location. With the exception of the mansion downtown I think this Keg is my new favorite location. read more

Good place for steaks. I always go for the bone in rib steak or the Kansas city strip. Can't go wrong with the appy menu either. Tuna tartare is always a good way to start. And I love the salad. I k own.. people with give me grief for giving the chain place a good rating but..I love that they are consistant no matter which keg I go to. read more
