I purchased a new K4 earlier in June from Kia Preston Highway and the overall experience was fantastic. I spent a couple of hours a week prior seeing and test-driving multiple models to familiarize myself with what Kia had to offer. Morgan patiently walked me through each model and answered all my questions. She was not pushy; she did not try to steer me in any direction. She let me figure out for myself what I ultimately wanted without resorting to any high-pressure sales tactics. When I made my decision and submitted a credit application, Alex got back with me quickly and made the arrangements for me to come in the next morning to sign all the paperwork. The process went smoothly; everybody was friendly and helpful. The finance department even worked to get me the best interest rate possible. I love the car and can honestly say that this was the best car-buying experience I have ever had. If you are interested in buying a Kia (and you really should), Kia Preston Highway will take very good care of you. Especially if you work with Alex and/or Morgan. As long-time patrons of Kia, we are sad to say that our singular 4-month long experience with this location was enough to make us NEVER buy anything from Kia again. Specifically our issues were exacerbated by Shannon Shelton (the manager), Amber Miller, and Rella Martin. We have a Kia optima that had its engine recalled and replaced at a Kia service center in Iowa. A few months later, the Kia was having the same issue again and so we took it to this Preston Highway location. At first, we were told by the ignorant staff that "Kia doesn't do recalls" and then were told that we needed to drive out the oil in the car and wait for a light to turn on in order for a problem to be diagnosed. We shouldn't have gone back, but after a week of driving out the oil and risking our engine seizing while in motion, we took the car back in and did not see it again for nearly 4 MONTHS. We continually had to call to get updates on what was happening to our car. For months. Rella Martin was in charge of our case, and she was unprofessional on multiple recorded occasions. On one recorded call, she neglected to place us on hold and we heard Amber or another employee come up to the phone and hang up on us when we tried to get information for a courtesy vehicle. She miserably failed to provide basic customer service. Even though the engine was under warranty, we were sent multiple quotes by her for ~$1000 of engine repairs... problems which were magically non-existent the week before when we took the car in and were told "there's no issue, drive out the oil"... We were not given a courtesy vehicle for the entirety of the time that this service center had our car. (Until 3 months had passed and we were begrudgingly given an enterprise rental the Friday before the Monday morning that the car was magically ready :) We had to pay for MONTHS of rentals and car insurance on a car we couldn't use, and could not get real updates on. We wasted an unbelievable amount of time and money with these people. Easily had to spend more than twice what the car is worth. Amber Miller was in the one eventually in charge of getting us into a courtesy vehicle. She was the most vile employee in the building. Unsure if it's upbringing or just personality, but we've never encountered a more rude and embarrassing employee, honestly. She was either sorely and ignorantly mistaken, or straight up lied to us about not having the proper insurance to drive the courtesy vehicle. We did have the proper insurance, we found out after they closed. The cherry on top was when Amber LOUDLY began to complain in front of everyone in the entire service area, that her OWN car was in the shop and that she'd been the one driving the only available courtesy car... and how she was personally upset that she wasn't going to have a courtesy car to drive because she was "gonna have to give it to these people". We couldn't actually believe the filth that was coming out of her mouth to a customer... in front of other customers and staff. Apparently it's standard at this location to prioritize employees when it comes to both repairs and courtesy vehicles. We wasted $80+ in Ubers and took time out of our work days, for Amber Miller to be more focused on her own car and how inconvenienced she was... after we hadn't had our car for three months. A joke. Speaking of jokes, Shannon Shelton (the manager of this location) was beyond unhelpful. Unhelpful is a kind assessment, as when we addressed our concerns about our car and Amber's behavior with him... he was more concerned about us getting copies of our insurance to him so that he would not have to pay the $30 of insurance to get us into a courtesy enterprise vehicle. Literally. He was out of office both of the days that we tried to physically speak to him to get on the same page about our car. (He was out golfing one of those days) At the end of it all, the technicians at this location decided that we had damaged our own vehicle with no evidence, because they can do that by the way. They then said that they were going to replace our engine under "goodwill" and that we had "actually gotten a pretty good deal".... After MONTHS.... A brand new engine for the vehicle OUT OF POCKET would've been cheaper and faster. The only reason this situation ended this way was because we had to get our lawyer involved. In NO WAY was any part of this a "good deal". Disgusting business practice. All in all, this was the single worst experience with a vehicle service company we have ever had. Having lived in the area for a total of over 15 years, we will be telling EVERYONE we meet about our experience here. This review serves as a testament to how poorly we were taken care of as customers by Kia, and more specifically, as accountability for Shannon Shelton, Amber Miller, and Rella Martin. read more

Horrible service I got a car and it cut off while driving the second week I got a loaner car from Kia and the day I was outta surgery they harassed me to bring it in the day of my surgery and they called me saying they coming to my house to take the car and I ended up driving in with open wounds after surgery just to avoid issues and they got was ringe ride put his hand up for me to shut up and then they gave my keys to a guy who walked passed me and got rude so I took the brand new broken car back today. My elderly mother went to take her Kia Soul to get looked at because the engine light had come on. My mother RELIGOUSLY took her car that she bought with 0 miles on it to the dealership for oil changes and regular maintenance. When she arrived she was treated VERY poorly by the service room staff. TLDR she was told BY A KIA EMPLOYEE "why would you buy a Kia?" Seriously unprofessional and I will tell everyone for the rest of my life the same. Don't buy a kia! read more

I just feel like they don't even deserve a star. Our Niro has been there for almost three weeks. The followup has been spotty. Today my spouse received a call saying that the A/C wasn't working because there is damage to the car. This was not shared in the beginning of this heinous experience. We are waiting for a service manager to call, but I highly doubt it will happen. The only reason we brought it to this location was because they could get the car in quicker. This place makes hell feel inviting. Don't even get me started on the fact we had to have a new engine put in this 2018 model because an oil change that was supposed to happen at the East location apparently didn't. On 6/14 my airbag light started coming on when no one would be sitting in my passenger seat. The Kia Store on Preston General Service Mange Sean called me on 6/16 regarding a previous issue. I asked if they ran a full diagnostic test on my vehicle. His response was "No, we only run on what the costumer issues are". I paid for a diagnostic test....Anyhow, he said that he fit me in on 6/16 and if it was a simple fix they would fix it cost free to me. Come to find out it wasn't and I have another appt with them 6/23 to have the airbag passenger seat sensor replaced for a cost of $1300 and something. They were able give a small discount. Fast forward to this morning 6/20 and my car would not start. It was silent. I called Triple A thinking I needed a new battery as the Kia store on Preston said I did (they wanted to charge $300 to replace my battery). Triple said my battery was in excellent condition and that I needed a new starter. Now since I was having issues with my break lights two weeks ago and took it into them. Usually break lights staying on is a flag of alternator going out. Why was this not catch? Why was this not listed as a recommendation? Not to mention when I went in on Monday the service guy who checked me in told me I needed a new rear passenger tire as it was bald? Ask if I knew that. I said no, as it was not on my list of recommendations and the fact they rotated my tires and didn't mention it is concerning. read more

I purchased a kia auto in August 2023 from the kia store My experience was pleasant and the salesman was knowledgeable and helpful. however I ask if I could pay for it with a check and that was acceptable to them. I told the sales person to hold the check for the 3 days due to I needed to transfer the funds to my bank he told me yes we do that all the time. Took my 2023 Kia Sportage in for service because it was making a noise in front end back in June 2023. Service guy test drove and knew what the problem was and said they would order part and call us to come back to get it fixed, he said about a week. As of August now part was sent back because service department couldn't get their heads out of their asses and fix our problem. I would suggest not relying on the Preston Highway service department for doing anything correctly or on a timely manner. read more

Arrived for 9:00 service appointment. Thought I was checked in. 45 minutes later my car still sitting there, I asked for an estimated time and they realized that I hadn't actually been checked in. So an 1 and 10 minutes later and they tell me they'll look at it but it'll take 1-1.5 hours and $175 to diagnose the problem when we already know what the problem is--just need it fixed. read more

I've had to bring my car here a few times unfortunately due to Kia recalls. Every time I make an appointment with my specific request, I show up the appointment, and there's ALWAYS a reason they can't look at my car today. I made an appointment in advance for a certain nationwide Kia recall. When I showed up to my appointment, they said they had to order it before I could be seen for it. Not sure why that wasn't told me when making the appointment, or if they even forgot, why was I not notified before making the drive? They always talk to me like I'm stupid, and they will ignore you while you're waiting at the desk to check in when they're sitting there. I hate that this is my closest Kia service. read more

Drove less than 1/2 miles and had to return to the service department because the car was bouncing and steering hard to the right. After another inspection they say we need new tires and a break job. They want to charge us another $600 on top of what we've already paid. The car was fine when we took it in. Very shady management, shady mechanics, and very shotty work. If there was a negative rating, I would give it to the store. Purchased a 2017 Kia Sportage. They informed us the engine had been replaced which was fine. The mechanic that replaced the engine left off several nuts, bolts and screws, did not put the under splash guard underneath the vehicle, the motor mounts were loose and so upon acceleration it pulled off the radiator hoses and broke the brackets. That was $200. We've already spent $1500 on tires and struts because the rear tires were cupped so bad. When I called the dealership to inform them on the horrible job their mechanic did they said sorry about my luck. It's my car. Pretty much every day for the last two months we have found pieces missing, broken, or installed improperly on this car. Run don't buy here. read more

My mom took her vehicle there for an oil change, they kept it overnight bc they stripped something and had to wait on a part. She was called the next day to pick it up but when she got there, her 2020 Kia Soul was stolen right under their noses. A man walked in, took the keys off an unattended desk and left with my 67 year old mother's car. All they did was order her a Lyft back home and told her she wouldn't be charged for the oil change!!! You know you could have at least given her a LOANER FROM YOUR LOT!!!! But now she still has to get to work and no car until her insurance can get one 5 days later after the 4th of July weekend. She was given GM Bob Caldwell and Jamie Spaulding's phone numbers and said to call if she needed anything.....welll since Friday no one has returned her calls, my brother's call, or mine. You will not have our business or anyone else we can tell. You are lucky that I'm currently stationed in MD and cantbe sitting in your lobby, but i may just make a trip. RIDICULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE, when it was entirely the dealership's negligence of leaving the keys unattended. I will post on all sites that i can to include military sites for people to avoid your dealerships and hope that it affects your pockets like it has affected my retired mother's. I would post the pics you provided but you have video footage of exactly what happened. I don't believe it would be possible for anyone to have a better experience than I did in the service department of Kia on Preston Hwy this week. I had been having problems off and on with my 2013 Kia Soul not starting and the tire pressure light remained on constantly. I have to admit that I was not good at keeping up with routine maintenance and the diagnostic determined that my vehicle was in need of a tune-up, induction, and radiator service, in addition to front brakes, tires, and a new battery. Terra, the service adviser, explained in detail the cost of each service and answered all my questions. She did this with kindness and patience. She was courteous when I asked to discuss the repairs with my son and schedule a follow-up appointment. When I returned two days later, she greeted me by name and asked about a topic we had discussed on my first visit. The gentleman who worked on my car, Jason, encountered a problem with a cross-threaded lug nut but immediately notified Terra there would be an estimated 40-minute delay in the work being completed and she immediately told me. I wasn't in a hurry but it was still above and beyond what I expected for Jason to work through his scheduled lunchtime in order to complete the work and get me headed home. Nowadays, GOOD customer service is hard to find and GREAT customer service is almost nonexistent. I am so pleased to report, it is alive and thriving at the Kia on Preston Hwy. read more

UPDATE 11/20/2017: The manager of this location personally called and was able to rectify everything to my liking. We reviewed everything that had happened from the sale of the car forward, he listened with empathy, and I was satisfied that even though it appears his service crew either miscommunicated what was wrong with our vehicle (or we misunderstood, either way we were under one impression where something else was the case) he ensured our experience was a positive one at the end of the day. No one came over to us for an hour, I walked up to the counter and asked if someone could help us, and they said they would find someone. 30 minutes later I returned to the counter again and they told us they would not get to us today, they only had one manager on duty. I took my car to the Kia Store Preston due to a seized engine that was caused by a recall from Kia Motors. They replaced the engine for free since they are the ones that had screwed it up to begin with. It took two months to get my car back. Once I got it back the air conditioning no longer worked. I took it there and they told me that it was not their fault, that my air conditioning had somehow developed a slow leak between the time I dropped it off and the time I picked it up, but again not due to them. They wanted to charge me $180 to diagnose the problem, not to mention what it would cost to fix it. On my way to the Kia store, I blew a tire. Thus, I had to have my car towed to the Kia store. On top of them weaseling out of fixing my air conditioning, they wanted to charge me $320 for a tire. I would totally not recommend buying or taking your car to the Kia store for a repair. If this had a zero star rating option, I would give Kia Store Preston 0 stars. That's my opinion. Here are the facts. 1. Saw a 2019 Sedona at this store online at a decent price. The price on the internet included dealer cash incentives. I called the store on 12/27 to see if 0% financing (assuming I qualified, which I did) would apply to the price shown on the website. I was told it did. I specifically asked this question because I had to make a choice between the two (dealer cash or financing) before in a previous car purchase, but I know that dealers sometimes offer both, so I wanted to confirm. Of course the language on the advertisement is written to make it virtually impossible to know what applies. 2. The Kia Store Preston employee who assisted me told me I could go ahead and figure out if I qualified for 0% financing by filling out an application online. I asked if it would be reported on my credit report (as I am going to be shopping around and didn't want my rating to be hit as a result of this inquiry). I was told it would not be reported. 3. Within an hour of sending in my credit information, I received notices from two sources that a hard inquiry had been made against my credit reports. So much for #2 being accurate. 4. After confirming that I did qualify for 0% financing and that the 0% financing would apply to the price stated online for the vehicle I was interested in, I reworked my drive home from North Carolina, driving 60 miles out of the way to the Kia Store Preston to take a look at the car. 5. Got there and test drove the vehicle. Liked it and was given a sheet with terms, after about two hours of being at the store with my four kids. Made a counteroffer. Sales manager said he would reduce the price by $0.99, but that's it. Maybe that's the way that car sales are done now, but certainly outside the realm of ordinary from my experience. 6. More importantly, after being given a trade-in value of half of what I was told to expect in advance (my car drives fine--just drove it from NC to the store in KY), I was told that you couldn't combine both dealer cash incentive and 0% financing. As noted in #2, this is exactly what I called about in advance and was given confirmation about. As noted, I dragged my four kids an hour out of the way after seven hours in the car to visit this store based on this confirmation by the Kia employee. 7. Sales manager acknowledged I was misinformed by his employee (I have the text to support what I was told), but did absolutely nothing to try to rectify the situation. We had an appointment scheduled weeks ago to have a seat belt buckle replaced. When my son showed up at my schedule time we were told it would be at least a 2 to 3 hour wait. What's the point of an appointment if there's going to be a 2 to 3 hour wait if you show up at the correct appointment time. When we scheduled the appointment we were told we could wait and not drop it off. The receptionist was very nasty and did not want to transfer back to service. And overall awful experience that I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

My son and I both bought cars from this dealership. The service is horrible. The hands free didn't work on my vehicle, I took it in and it didn't get fixed. When I tried to reschedule an appointment, they couldn't give me one until more than a month away. My son's brand new 2021 Kia Forte, after just a couple of weeks, lost the ability to accelerate while on the highway. It had to be towed to the dealership on Monday evening. It went all day Tuesday and they had nothing to say about it every time we contacted them. It's now Wednesday morning and he's telling me they may not get to it until the end of the week and they will NOT give us a LOANER vehicle?! I made an appointment for Friday at 7:00 am to get my ac fixed. The service rep said he would call me with the price. He did not call. He did call around lunch time, after I received the quote by text. I removed some items that didn't resolve the ac issue and approved the text, which said my car would be ready by 4:45 that same day. I immediately called him back to confirm that I removed those items and the call went to voice mail. I left a message and he did not call me back. I kept calling and finally got to talk to a lady, who told me that they probably didn't even have the parts, so there was no way it would be done. She yelled and asked the mechanic and he told her it would be next Tuesday or Wednesday. I told her I needed to have my car and she said I could pick it back up and they would call when the part came in. When I arrived to pick my car back up, the service rep said "the part will be here tomorrow". I told him that I would have left my car there if I had known that, but that the actual mechanic had said it would be "next week". The service rep said he would confirm that it would be there and call me back. He told me to bring the car at 8:00 am on Saturday and they would fix it. He DID NOT call me back to confirm that the part would be there so I called him 4 times and it went to voice mail every time. I told him that I would have to get a ride again, so I needed to know for sure. Finally I went through the main phone number and was transferred to another guy who said that my service rep had left for the day, and even if the part came in on Saturday it was unlikely they would fix it because they only work 2 people on Saturdays to do routine maintenance. He told me to call at 8:00 on Saturday and talk to my service rep. I called at least 4 times this morning (Saturday) between 8:00 and 9:00, both the service number and main number and every time it went to voice mail. I live on the other side of town and have to get a ride every time I go out to Preston Highway. So this service rep would have had me go out there yet again this morning for absolutely nothing. I have no reason to believe they even ordered the part because nothing else has turned out to be true. If the service rep had told me up front that would look at my car at 7:00 am on Friday, but chances are they couldn't fix it until next week, I might have been disappointed, but I wouldn't have been so mad. Nobody likes the runaround.... I'm over this place. read more

The car was a 2019 ,We decided later that day to return to the Kia on Preston, what a mistake, they would not honor the text and were very firm and disrespectful, Do the employees and Management not communicate? Well as a Kia owner myself, this changed my perspective of the brand.They have lost my trust and I will share this terrible experience. Happy ending for us though, My daughter found a vehicle, her gain and Kia lost a $19,000 sale, probably small potatoes to them. Horrible Service Dept: My check engine light came on. I took it to Kia Store on Preston. They got a diagnosis that it had a evap leak but couldn't find the leak, so they reset the check engine light and sent me home. Next day check engine light came on. It was a couple months before I could get back because I would have to leave my car for a couple days. This time they said the light just suddenly disappeared when they pulled it in the garage. Sent me home, light came on next day. Made third trip for same problem a few weeks later. I was without my car for almost 3 weeks before they fixed the leak! When I picked it up Friday after Service Center had closed, when I started my car, it sounded really different, like it was growling. It sounded awful. Now I have to take it back for a 4th time to see what all the growling is about, but this time it won't be at Kia Preston! Never going back there again. Terrible experience!!! My daughter received a leased car from this so-called good location and now they want her to return the car because of their screw up in finance, she has a 18 month old child and this is the only mode of travel to and from work and also to provide for her child but to protect their own commission and name sake, they are forcing her to return the car after taking her old car and letting her have the car for two (2) weeks, I strongly suggested her to contact the family attorney to resolve this matter without any further disruption on her life. read more

I bought my car a few weeks ago from Jean. I knew what car I wanted when I got there so did not need much help. Then, when purchasing the car, the wrong sales tax was used so I was overcharged. I contacted the Kia store to get it sorted out (on 10/25/17) and the lady (Kennedy) was quick to say I would get a check wrote out the following business day. That never happened. I reached out again and was ignored. I went to the store and the managers claimed they had no idea and reassured me that they would figure out what happened by next week (no later than 11/9/17) and follow up with me. That again, never happened. I reached out today (11/13/17) after waiting for a reply and was told they would give Jean a message and he (or Ross, I believe) would follow up with me. That has not happened. Very frustrated, would not recommend going to this Kia store. The one in Clarksville seems MUCH better. At this point I wish my money would have went somewhere else. I had texts as proof, the paper work, etc and no one seems to care about scamming me out of my money. Whether it's $20, $50, $100, or $1000, scamming someone out of ANY money is wrong and it's unbelievable how unwilling they are to make this right.
