This was one of the easiest experiences with one of the best final products we could have asked for. We originally saw the store while driving by it, and looked into them further when replacing an older swing set that came with our house. Dave came over right away, took a look at our yard, measured, and within a day had already sent us some proposals and recommendations. He worked with us on customizing to fit our space and needs, and provided us with all of the necessary plans for our HOA approval. We went with a redwood set to withstand the PNW weather better. When installation day came, the crew was on time and very good at communicating with us. The final product looks beautiful, and has been approved by our kid who can't seem to stop playing on it. Looks really cool. Just don't have any idea how my husband, child and I are supposed to get here on a weekday before 6pm. Seems feasible enough to have some weekend openings during the holiday season- it would be a nice offering (& pretty much the only option) for working families, especially since the website doesn't have full information for what's locally available.9 The fact that they don't inclines me to believe there's not much of a customer service- driven focus. Both Dave and Ben have been extremely helpful guiding us through the design process. They are very knowledgeable and helpful with the considerations of what each child wanted out of the unit plus keeping us within the budget that we set. They do not try to oversell you on product....they want it to work for your family. On a side note, they put in a swing set for a family friend over 25 years ago and we still use it. Dave came by to check it out and we asked if we should replace it. He did a thorough inspection and stated that it was still in great shape and no need to spend additional money. This place is actually called the Kids Backyard Store, which is much more appropriate. They sell very nice high-quality play structures for your yard. We just had our backyard play structure completed and these guys are AMAZING! Jeff and Ben are so professional and their attention to detail is truly impressive. Our structure was completed in one day and it's everything we wanted and more. Jeff was so patient with me during the planning stages of the project, constantly emailing with me back and forth, changing little details here and there, providing me with scaled drawings, until the plan was just right for our space. We were able to get in all the activities my kids wanted in a smaller space on a slope! And it looks So good! We even had them come back and put in the rubber edging with weed fabric barrier for when we spread tire mulch. I can't recommend this company enough! During install, we wanted to make a few modifications to the structure and they came back a different day to do them. They also helped me ensure that the area around the play structure was safe. Dave is a rare bread, not often found these days. A true gentleman before business man. In a year where COVID has turned our life on its head Dave was able to find a creative solution to turn our backyard into a playground oasis for our boys all while sticking within our budget! Shady! They charged my credit card without permission. Still awaiting my monkey bars. Wasn't offered a refund. They put in a boundary for wood chips and it was obvious that they didn't want to be doing. The also busted a sprinkler line while doing so. read more

Backyard Store has the best play structues period. Once we began loooking into these structures we came to find that not only are there many manufactures of varying quality, there are also price points from $200-$5000. We started at Costco, Home Depot, Rainbow, and ended up in the Kid's Backyard Store. A local store owned/operated by a father/son team. We 1st went to the showroom to get a feel for the materials and to see what options we might have as our yard is realitively small (20'X20'). They custom build all of the structures so have a very wide range of options. Before we left they gave us all their catalog material and then came out to the house for a free onsite assessment where we drew up a inital blueprint. After seeing 6-8 different models, nothing touched the quality of KBC's materials so we decided to go w/them. After looking at our yard a little more closely they accomodated changes to the initial plans and then quickly came out for installation with in 2 weeks. High-quality, well built cedar product with a lifetime guarantee. Since the install our boy's haven't wanted to come inside, and that's just how the summer's should be! read more
