Time for an update. We've had a chance to go here two more times and I'd have to say that I think they're getting their feet underneath them. Service both times was very good. My wife's gorgeous beer continues to be great. My wife is ordered the grain Bowl with chicken the last two times and she likes it quite a lot. I ordered the Reuben (w/extra kraut) one time and the Smashburger the other time. I definitely like both of them and would order them again. I've stuck to the Margaritas, which have been pretty consistent and pretty good. I would definitely recommend you try this place out if it all interested. I upped my score to five stars, so on average for me they are at 4.5 Stars. I think that's pretty fair at this time. But I think they also are working hard to improve to a solid five-star rating.

Perfect Friday night (or any night) watering hole! We were here in March and it was a little cold for the patio but now in April, it's perfect weather to grab a beer and decompress after the workday. We had the wings (sooo flavorful - BBQ) and then the Cuban and the Hot Honey Chicken sammie. Loved everything and the beer was great too! We will be back.

    Do they offer happy hours?

The Virginia Beer Company currently offers a rotation of happy hour specials in Williamsburg, Monday through Friday! At our Yorktown location, we are just getting ready to open our new beer garden. Once the beer garden is fully open, and we finally… Read more

Our meal was absolutely delicious. The pimento mac and cheese was life changing. Genuinely one of the best things i've had. The ambience is warm, dark, and cozy. Definitely a great date night spot! The service was amazing, we were told about the menu, the history of the table we were sat at, even how they clean it with water and vinegar to keep healthy. The thrifting that took place to make all the pieces look nice in the space. Now to the food, I had the tomato toast as my entree, it was simply the best, freshest thing I've ever tasted. I couldn't believe my mouth. The tomatoes tasted so fresh and the sourdough bread was amazing. We were told all the food is locally sourced down to the bread from across the street. The kids macaroni and the kids Ao Burger was very flavorful. Boyfriend had the Ao burger and he stated it was delicious. I would highly recommend! I believe the server we had was Jazmine, she was very nice and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, the vibes and was on top of drinks and made our first experience there a great one! Thank you!

It's just a horrible experience as is. They need to go to Precarious and see how they do it. Their food is generally good to great. They have a $5 before 5 app and drink special menu that is a really good deal. Nice spot for adults to have some drinks. Just be patient as service is generally slow. Now onto my recent experience.... I suggested it to some friends who wanted to grab some beers on MLK day which was a Monday. There were 4 of us guys and 7 kids. It's a lot. I get it. They weren't overly busy. Maybe a quarter full. I tried to keep the kids away from other tables by giving them boundaries. They were not happy with us. They didn't like the kids being outside in their patio (freezing, no one out there) etc. The one server was getting destroyed. She had just like 6 tables, but a 16 top. I felt badly for her. Our drinks correspondingly took about 20-30 minutes each time we tried to order. She was nice when she could get to us. At one point a person who said they were a manager, I think she said her name was Hannah, came over and said the kids couldn't be going around (again, I had boundaries not by any other patrons etc. from what I could see they were honoring them, but who knows), anyway she asked if we could keep them by us, which is fine. I then asked her if I could put in a beer and app order as I had been waiting for our server with an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. Instead of taking the order and ringing it in, she said she'd send the server over and disappeared never to be seen again. 5 minutes Iater the server was able to get free from her big table and get our beer orders and food in. Several items were forgot, but at this point we were kind of over it. Just not really your typical relaxed brewery vibe. Felt like they wanted it to be more of a sit down restaurant. That big long story to say it's not a spot for kids. Overall food and drinks are solid. Beer is solidly middle of the pack for Peninsula. Management needs some work.

We were greeted immediately as we entered. You have to wait to be seated but there was no wait. Our server was so nice and friendly. She took our drinks order and answered all our questions. This place should be on all locals list to check out. The vibe is very chill. We have stopped by when it's been busy and they've had live music and also when it's been on the quiet side like today. Every time the service has been superb and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I only wish they were a little closer to home since they are located in Hampton but don't let that stop you. It's not a bad ride.

We ordered a Diners burger, Virginia burger, and house wings. The Burgers were borderline inedible due to the huge amount of salt. If i had been dining in I would have sent it back. I would not feed that much salted meat to my dog. The burgers dampness also had literally demolished the lower bun and iceberg lettuce. So i had to disgard those sodding blobs. The Virginian burger also salty, and the crab cake, small and underwhelming. The Chicken wings tasteless and dry. On too of this i had no choice but to pay a 10% tip for "take out prepare ". If i can give zero i would. Id say "fire the chef"
