A good place for cheap breakfast, the Kolaches are good but definitely not a true authenticity to the Central European taste. I'd give them another star, but my experience with customer service the past two times I've tried their food has been disappointing. They can be rude and inattentive. This place is super good. I'm not a fan of the egg kolaches, but my friends love them so I think it's just a me problem. I love the new raspberry Nutella cheesecake kolaches and should have bought a few more to take home with me. Hruska's is by far my favorite place to grab breakfast in Provo! It is so amazing! To start, you show up these tiny storefront that always has a line, could be 20 minutes on a Saturday morning. You may be discouraged to go, BUT DON'T! If the line was an hour it would still be worth it. Now for choices, there are savory and sweet. Savory ranges from eggs and meats, sweet has berries, cream, nuts, etc. I have never had a Kolache flavor that isn't memorable. My personal favorites are the sausage and gravy; egg, cheese, sausage, and jalapeño; mixed berry; and peach. Again, this place is the best. I always make a stop here, even if it's an hour out of the way. If they opened up a location in Logan, not only would I spend more than I have on school, I'd fund the college funds for each of the owners grandkids. I just can't stop! read more

But I think this might have been because I don't really have much of a sweet tooth and I'd only had sweet ones. But at Hruska's, I had two savory kolaches (a sausage/gravy and a bacon/egg/jalapeno/cheese) and I have been converted. They were excellent. The nice and thin dough is an excellent vessel. Also, I generally prefer baked turnover type things to fried ones and kolaches are the former which adds more points in my book. read more

Great place to get a unique and flavorful breakfast. Our second time here, and it won't be the last. The kolaches are stuffed with numerous savory options, freshly baked, and very good. We had a kolache stuffed with sausage, one stuffed with cheese and jalapeno, and a third with cheesy sausage and egg. All were excellent. I had a Texas sausage on our first visit, but sadly they were out. It's a spicy sausage wrapped in the same unique dough and had a kick that may be a little much for some, but trampled my spice meter...I want another.
