Phenomenal food, absolutely recommend dining here if you're looking for a spot in the packing district! The wagyu smash burger was incredible, definitely would get that again! They also have tons of yummy sides and fries. We tried the garlic fries and the Mac and cheese, both were delicious!! Tons of spots to eat in the building as well as outdoor space.
My brother and I decided to go here after wandering around and I can say that this place is good! I had the wagyu smash burger and it's pretty decent! The burger itself is a bit dry but the cheese and sauce balance it out. The cheese does get a bit overwhelming at times but other than that it's pretty good! The size of the burger too is big in my opinion (I don't usually eat very much) but the burger is definitely good to split between 2 people! The parking area is kind of ok but hard to find parking even on a Friday around noon. Overall: would go here if the wait isn't too long!
I came here with my parents on a Saturday around 12:30pm. It was kind of loud, so I had a hard time hearing. Thankfully, they take your name and number, then text you when your order is ready. My dad got the BBQ Ranch Smash Fries. My mom got the Grilled Cheese. I got the Beef Melt. Fortunately for my dad, we agreed that the fries were the best. Unfortunately for my dad, we insisted on sharing. One word of advice... check out the "Texas" donut at the nearby Randy's Donuts! It's hilariously big!
We wanted to grab lunch and walked around checking everything out and we ended up coming here and it was fantastic Customer Service was above and beyond We placed our order found a seat to sit they brought out our drinks and items presentation was awesome Food was incredible everything was nice and hot very fresh Garlic fries so perfect Smash burger was delicious Our sandwiches were so flavorful and filling Everything was perfect the area was great vibe and customer service again top notch they checked in on us from time to time! I highly recommend this place to everyone to try!
The Kroft, located at The Packing District, was one of the most exciting restaurants to be at, especially during the holidays, as it was just festive and fun filled during the holidays! This restaurant fit perfectly into the ambiance of The Packing District, which features a modern, cozy atmosphere and offers many different menu options. I ordered the smash burger which did not let me down. The smash burger that I ordered was extremely juicy, flavorful, and was cooked to perfection. The smash burger that I ordered also included a nice caramelized crust, which provides a smash burger additional flavor. I paired my smash burger with their gravy smothered fries, topped with fried chicken. Their gravy smothered fries were excellent because they were very crispy prior to being smothered in gravy, and the fried chicken on top of the gravy provided an additional crunchy texture and seasonings to each bite of the fries and to the gravy. The combination of the gravy smothered fries and fried chicken made for a rich and deliciously flavored dish that could have easily been its own holiday treat. Inside the Kroft there was very little seating. However, despite the large crowds and long wait lines during the holidays, the Kroft staff were friendly and helpful! Getting a table and having a chance to enjoy their food while experiencing the great vibe of the Packing District was relatively simple and enjoyable. My experience at the Kroft was both satisfying and fun and has already got me thinking about returning to the Kroft when I go to the Anaheim Packing District again, where I will definitely order another smash burger!
Etched in the packing district with dozens of food options to choose from, one of my favorite options to choose from for food that always satisfies whatever mood I'm in is The Kroft. Small seating area (to be expected it's the packing district), the menu is plentiful and the workers are helpful, especially with a lot of items I've never tried before. Got the loco moco and the classic fries, and my goodness I could eat 10 boxes of each. Fries are cooked well, nothing dry of any sorts and the additions to each stand out in their own respective ways. Didn't have to wait too long either, and every time I think about the packing district I think of the kroft. Try the poutine, it's great
My son was arriving at LGB aka Long Beach Airport and so after picking him up we went to LBX Hangar to see what interests my taste buds when I walk around the food court. So I saw their rotisserie cooking up the pork belly Porchetta and so I went with the Porchetta sandwich. Some cheese curds with garlic Mayo and a French onion smash burger. The service was ok, at least there were no mistakes. The burger and sandwich were good. The Porchetta on ciabatta was a bit oily, but very tasty. I would actually try some of their other sandwiches. The smash burger was also very tasty but it was a bit salty, maybe from the Parmesan cheese crisp. Let's see what I go with next time.
In Packing district. Walked in and looked at photos on wall.The Smashburger caught my eye. So I ordered the combo but thru my phone. It was my first time using the app. I ordered but it was a bit confusing. I went up as my text arrived that my Combo Smashburger was ready. As I got my food I looked around to find a place to sit as you know this place is always packed and stuffy down stairs. I went upstairs got a spot only to remember I didn't get my drink so I went back and I asked the girl in pick up she said she couldn't give it to me I had to go to the line again. Really for a drink I already paid for and I even showed her the receipt attached. So I had to wait again for a while just to get to the front and ask she said oh yeah the online is specific when you order and if it didn't have anything then we don't serve it. It was a loss of time it's just a cup of a drink paid for the first girl should have helped. Ugh Only to try to get the spot back and of course it was taken. So the burgers sauce was messy. I felt the Double patty advertised is s super thin one that doesn't even make one normal size. I felt that it was.more brioche bun and sauce than anything. The fries were good they were super soft tho. Not sure bc of the wait time for a drink or if they toss them in too much liquid(sauce) for garlic fries. Overall I won't be ordering from them again. On to trying something new there
Saw some videos online about people stopping by this place in the packing district. Ended up dropping by for the wagyu fries. Easy ordering and plenty of seats. Their fries can take a little time to cook probably because of the burger. Was tasty and a nice snack. It was also super filling. There's so many options around but this place stood out and it was a nice cute environment to sit and eat at.
I rarely go to the Anaheim Packing House but every time I do, I get food from The Kroft, and it's always a poutine. You cannot go wrong with the poutine. Service is standard; I received my order in 10 minutes. There's plenty of general seating all around the Packing House, so you don't need to sit directly at the food stand. I usually get the country fried chicken poutine. It comes with sausage gravy, cheese curds, chicken nuggets, bacon, and green onions. The last time I got this, the chicken was very dry, almost overcooked, but this time it was piping hot and the right amount of crisp. Personally, I think there needs to be more gravy and more fries. It is a little pricey though. If you are hungry, I would recommend getting a burger or sandwich with a side of fries.
My boy and I decided to head to the Anaheim Packing District for the last night if our SoCal trip. Plus, it was my very first time visiting! Since we couldn't decide on a restaurant, we went on to pick our own places to grab a bite from. The Kroft was bookmarked on my list but I couldn't remember what for. Then I looked at the menu and it hit me! The PB & J Wagyu Smashburger! I went on to place my order with the friendly staff. On top of ordering the burger I had to get a side of fries. Turn around time was decent due to the fact it was a Friday night and busy. I met with my boy at a table he found and I unpacked my order. The PB & J Wagyu Smashburger looked immaculate. I was hooked with the sweet and savory flavor, medium cooked patty, and fresh condiments. The fries were nice and crispy. But I'll most definitely need to be back to try their other menu offerings.
I met up with a friend at Packing House while visiting Anaheim. We walked around for a bit to browse the different food options available - since it was a weekday during the day, it wasn't busy and we were able to take our time. I ended up circling back to The Kroft because their sign caught my attention. French dip? Yes please! We ordered our food to-go and grabbed a table closer to the center of the Packing House, since The Kroft is tucked away downstairs and feels a bit darker being farther from the windows. I ordered just the sandwich with no sides, plus a drink, and it ended up being a good amount of food for me. The sandwich (and dip) itself was on the richer, heavier side, but was incredibly tasty and satisfying. I would definitely want to try to come back the next time I am in the area.

The Kroft, located on the first floor of the Anaheim Packing District, serves you sandwiches and "comfort food". What does that mean? I almost found out the wrong way and it almost cost me. They have poutines here and sandwiches. Not knowing what a poutine was other than "Canada and potatoes", dot_ham told me it was cheese curd, french fries, and something else. But looking at the price (It was $7) I was like ooh this sounds good. Thank goodness I didn't. I decided to go for the fried chicken sandwich, which was $8.50 and had coleslaw and fried chicken. It had a bit of a kick in it, a little spice to it, but nothing that someone who can't really handle the spiciness could handle. They do have water if you ask, so you can get cups. It was good, way better than the fried catfish I had upstairs at Georgia's. Mostly because it was in the sandwich form. I ordered fries for $4 on the side but I couldn't finish (WHAT?) and they give you a choice of sauces. I chose spicy garlic? They have a lot for $4- they're also really filling..but I also did.... read below dot_ham ordered a poutine and a sandwich- I can only tell you about the poutine. He ordered the classic... and he was right. He had a sandwich, his girlfriend had a sandwich, and they were to share the poutine. They had the classic and my friend had 1/3rd of it and his stomach died. HIs gf had already eaten some and then I decided I would help them, as they were gonna be out for the rest of the day and were gonna throw it out. It was good, but the cheese curds were REALLY heavy on the stomach and made me cringe. It's tasty, but it just has way too much going on. :/ It's either one or the other haha. After thinking for a while, I told my friend, thank you for saving me from Putin (Poutine). I'll see myself out of my own review now. read more
The Kroft seems to be a pretty popular place within the Anaheim Packing District. I had the chance of trying it out this past Friday evening. We wanted a variety of options to try from so we only ordered the Classic Poutine just for something not too heavy (although the country fried poutine looked heavenly). Classic Poutine (~$8): Fries were cooked to a perfectly light crispy texture. However, the gravy was overly salty and hard too each too much of it! Cubes of cheese curds to top the fries as well. The Kroft is located downstairs next to the hot pot area. I'm definitely going for the shorb rib poutine next time around! read more
Prepare to wait for a while if you want to eat here. It has one of the longest lines at The Packing House. I wasn't prepared to wait so I only tried it when there was no line, which was around 8 p.m. on a weeknight. However, it still got packed shortly after I got my food so I really can't say when is the best time to go here. The menu is pretty simple and broken down to poutines and sandwiches. There's usually about 4 or 5 different types of each on any given day. On the day I went they had classic, braised shortrib, chicken pot fries, and country fried for poutines; and prime rib dip, Kroft fried chicken, porchetta, and braised short rib for sandwiches. My friend had previously tried the chicken pot pie poutine and he really liked it so I decided to go with this as well. It's basically a deconstructed chicken pot pie with fries instead of pie crust but they also added some pearl onions and cheese curds which added a nice touch. It was pretty good but I was only able to eat about quarter of it because it was so heavy. I had to save the rest for lunch the next day. I also ordered the Kroft fried chicken sandwich but didn't care for it. Even though it has jalapeno slaw, flavor was rather bland and chicken was somewhat dry. I also couldn't tell if the fried chicken was crispy or not because the baguette bread was too tough and dense for the sandwich. I couldn't feel much texture except for the tough bread. Seems like prime rib dip might be a better choice. Although I think this place is definitely worth a try, I don't see myself eating here too often because the poutines are way too heavy for me. After all, it's mostly fries. For sandwiches I'd much rather go to Wheat & Sons, located right next to this place, because I already had great experience with two of their sandwiches and they use locally sourced, quality meat. The long wait here is also a deterrent and I honestly don't understand the hype. read more
While most of the restaurants in Anaheim Packing District open at 11:00 a.m., The Kroft doesn't open until 11:30 a.m. As a result, quite a long line starts to form in front within that half hour. The menu isn't too extensive with a few sandwiches, some poutines, and a few sides. I decided to order the Braised Short Rib Poutine. This consists of fries topped with gravy, cheese curds, and pickled onions. The short rib was shredded and very tender. A generous portion of gravy covered the fries, and not a fry was left without sauce. The sweet tartness of the onions complimented the richness of the gravy and cheese well. This dish is pretty heavy, so it's a good idea to consider splitting it with someone else! While the food was decent, I was disappointed that they didn't have any Cucumber Mint Lemonade ready yet when I ordered my food. Overall, I may come back if I happen to be in the area. If I do, I think I'll try the Chicken Pot Pie Fries or the Braised Short Rib Sandwich! read more

The hype...is not real. We got there right when it opened and one item was already crossed off the menu. I'm guessing they don't serve everything everyday, which sucks. Porchetta Sandwich - I took a bite and the crunch of the porchetta was so loud, I was surprised my teeth were still intact. It's good if it's crispy, but to the point where I thought I was going to lose all my teeth...no bueno. The Kroft is definitely one of the better food options at the Packing House. They offer some really tasty sandwiches like the prime rib dip and the porschetta. Adding cheese to the prime rib is a must. And if you haven't ever tried proschetta from Roli Roti in SF, this is a good alternative. Just more expensive and you don't get the potatoes. Their fries are also really good. Thick, crispy and well seasoned. The garlic fries are killer as are the fried cheese curds. Their poutine was a bit too salty though. Fresh lemonade is good but boo no free refills. read more

Checked out the new Anaheim Packing House today during the late lunch hour. This was the place I wanted to try first. The line was long but moved quickly. Shared the Prime Rib dip and Fried Chicken sandwich with my hubby. Both were very delicious and hit the spot. Prime Rip had plenty of meat in it and the au jus was so tasty. Fried Chicken breast was fried perfectly and the jalepeno coleslaw in it gave it a nice little spicy kick. We also shared the Chicken Pot Poutine and a cucumber mint lemonade. I've never had poutine before but you can't go wrong with a generous helping of fries smothered with chicken pot pie filling & cheese curds. The lemonade was not too sweet and very refreshing on this warm day. I would recommend sharing sandwiches & poutines so you can try more options. Parking here is very limited so try to carpool. This place is packed even during non peak hours. I look forward to coming back to try their other sandwiches and poutines. read more

The Kroft is located in the Anaheim Packing House. They offer a variety of different sandwiches and poutines. I've been here a few times already and The Kroft always has one of the longest lines behind Popbar. The only thing that I have tried from The Kroft so far is the country fried poutine. It consists of fries topped with small pieces of fried chicken, sausage gravy, cheese curds and bacon bits. The poutine is very filling and I recommend sharing it with another person or maybe even two. The flavor is pretty good, but if you try eating a lot of it then it just becomes way too salty. The only item that is consistently sold out is the loco moco poutine. It just sounds delicious... Gravy, fries, fried egg... I definitely want to come early one day so I can try it out. Overall, The Kroft is worth the wait. I've also been wanting to try out the porchetta sandwich since I heard it is pretty amazing! read more
The porchetta sandwich here is nothing short of amazing. I've been looking forward to coming here and finally it happened over the weekend. The eatery is located lower level of Anaheim Packing District. Atmosphere is very casual, more like an eatery. You order at the counter and handed a pager, notifying you when your order is ready for pickup. Seating is very limited too a few small tables and 2 communal ones to share. We came here around 4pm and surprisingly there was no line. We ordered the country fried chicken poutine ($8) and their claim to fame porchetta sandwich ($10). The poutine was fantastic and meal in itself. Even though I don't like my food soggy, I couldn't resist the poutine! The perfect amount of gravy, not overly drenched allowing some breathing room for the fries and chicken to shine. Crisp texture was still present. The saltiness from gravy and bacon elevated the flavor to umami like profile. Serving portions was more than enough for two to share. Pork is beautiful thing, but porchetta will transcend any sandwich. The body of the pig is gutted, deboned, arranged carefully with layers of stuffing, meat, fat, and skin, then rolled, spitted and roasted to crisp perfection. Just seeing this huge delicious roasted carcass cut and chopped into small pieces on cutting board had me drooling. The star attraction, porchetta was fabulous. Every component was an explosion of taste - savory, salty pork, peppery arugula, tangy salsa verde, and flagrant rosemary. It was love at first bite, especially crispness from the pig skin crackling. Cold refreshing crafted beer are also served on tap. The Coronado Hefeweizen was really refreshing and really goes well with their sandwiches and poutines. Overall, my visit to the Kroft did not disappoint. Definitely plan to make many more pilgrimage stop to this porkalicious eatery again.. read more

I love me some Poutine. To be clear, I've never had real Canadian Poutine but I'd like to think I'd love it just as much! I'm often limited in LA because everyone makes it with Short Rib. However, The Kroft offers some addt'l options beyond Short Rib, which is awesome. I had the Thanksgiving Poutine (Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry, Gravy, etc...THE WORKS) 2x in 2 weeks. Anaheim is not a close trek from LA by any means but worth every mile. The Kroft has a secret....a secret that makes their fries the perfect vehicle. The Kroft fries aren't completely hard and crispy (like Animal) but still potato-y enough to soak in the gravy but not get too soggy. HOW?! But, I'm not going to question good things and will just continue to enjoy the amazingness that is The Kroft Poutine I also had their Thanksgiving Sandwich but the Thanksgiving Poutine blew it out of the water. Please make The Thanksgiving Poutine a regular item!! Lastly, Poutine portions are large enough to split with 2-3 people or....just 1 THUG (I ain't sharing! haha). read more
This was my second time back to the packing district and I was excited to try more different places. Kroft caught my attention from the amount of ppl and also the strong yum aroma when you passed by. The menu sounds pretty interesting and the prices were decent. I ended up with the country fried poutine. What is this??? It was heaven in my mouth!! It's a good combination of chicken fried steak nuggets served over a bed of cheese and crispy golden fries! They also add faves over the entire entree!!! This place is da bomb and I would definitely come back for more. My sister ordered the prochetta pork belly and I thought her entree had even more flavorful than mine. Bread was soft. And the veggies and dressing they add goes really well with the pork belly. I will definitively come back for more next time!!! read more
OMG!!! Best chicken sandwich ever!!!! I have been wanting to try this place for a while but every time we went to the Packing House there was always a huge line. I guess the key is to go on a Monday night around 8pm because for some reason there was no line then!! We decided to share the classic poutine fries and it was perfect for three people. I had no need for the menu since I was already set on ordering the famous chicken sandwich that I have been hearing so much about. OMG!!! It did not disappoint, I didn't know what to expect but I was very impressed. The chicken was so juicy and tender and the jalapeno mayo spread was incredible. It was very packed and very filling. I was very satisfied with my choice after tasting my friends and boyfriends sandwiches I knew I had made the right choice. Their sandwiches were also pretty good, the porchetta was nice and crunchy and the short rib was also very tasty. But nothing could top that darn delcious chicken sandwhich!!! read more
The boyfriend chose this place for date night dinner. Unfortunately, neither of us were impressed. First off, The Packing House is a disaster. The parking is horrendous and there were way too many people shoved into this cramped building. This particular restaurant space is tiny. We got a table but had we arrived maybe 10 minutes later we would have been out of luck. The menu has no descriptions of any of the food. They don't have a drink menu. I wanted fried cheese curds, but they were out. They were actually out of quite a few things at 6:30 on a weeknight. BF ordered the Kroft Fries for us to share and the Fried Chicken Sandwich for himself. I had the Prime Rib Dip. We both got water to drink. The food took maybe 10 minutes to come up. The fries were very disappointing. The fries just lacked flavor and seasoning and then had raw garlic, shredded cheese, and parsley thrown all over the top. It just didn't work. His sandwich was not good, i'm really glad I didn't order it. The spicy slaw in it didn't pair with the chicken, in our opinion. The breading on the chicken was way too thick and tasted old. My prime rib dip was alright, but soggy, falling apart, and under-seasoned. We both agreed the bread they use is good, and my au jus was tasty. I highly doubt I would go back. I was excited that they had so many poutines, but since I thought their fries sucked, I don't see the point. read more

mMMm...comfort food! This place seemed to be one of the most popular spots at the packing house. Lots of people everywhere were holding their brown to-go boxes and there was also a long line to order. Thankfully, service was fairly fast here and we got our food within 5-10 minutes of ordering. We ordered the braised short rib poutine and it was delicious :D the short ribs were very tender and I loved that there was plenty of cheese and gravy added so that you really don't need any other condiments to dip your fries in. I do wish that there was more short rib in it though. One order was plenty to share between 2 people. The sandwiches also looked good...might have to go back and try those next time! read more
With 800+ reviews and a 4 star average, I was excited to try The Kroft. Unfortunately, the disappointing sandwiches were not worth $10-$13. It's probably my mistake for not ordering a poutine. Although condiments were readily available, these sandwiches lacked flavorful meat and just needed something more. I ordered the Porchetta Sandwich (1 star). The pork was dry with no crunchy bits that I expect from porchetta. With only a thin layer of pork, the dominant flavors were the bread and salsa verde. My fiancé ordered the Prime Ribeye Dip (2 stars). This was the better, but could have used a side of au jus for dipping. Cheese is an additional $1, which it needed. The service (4 stars) was great since they were very nice. They accidently made an extra Short Rib Melt (1 star) and gave it to us for free. Unfortunately, that sandwich was bland and dry. read more
LONG LINE = GOOD FOOD Its located on the bottom floor of Anaheim Packing District. The line moves quick and about a 10 minute wait until your food is prepared. We assumed a line means it's the best spot to eat and we assumed right. - check the chalkboard menu near the back wall (its has more than what is posted on the front - must get fries... it doesn't matter which one you order, just get fries (truffle fries, loaded, poutine, loco moco, etc.) - presentation sucks. it's messy, get extra napkins PRIME RIB DIP SANDWICH - The sandwich was a nice size - definitely filling. It was cut in half so you can see the layers of folded prime rib. The sandwich was pretty good and even better when dipped in the au jus it comes with. The bread was very tender and soft. I wish there was some texture to the sandwich - maybe even toasting the bread just to give it a little crunch somewhere because this sandwich was just tender and falls apart easily. Get lots of napkins! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. GARLIC TRUFFLE FRIES - Glad we shared the sides because I would not have been able to eat a serving on its own with a sandwich. The hot item here are the fries and you cannot go wrong with..... garlic. truffle. fries. The fries were skinny and crunchy - just the way I like them. Good flavor of garlic, not too powering but your breath will still stink. Finely chopped parsley and shaved parmesan blanket the top of the fries for a nice hearty and earthy flavor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. BRUSSEL SPROUTS & BACON - The combination with these two go hand-and-hand. You can never go wrong with anything served with bacon flavor. I must say, it's ugly looking and the brussel spouts look black and burnt but the charred flavor wasn't a bother when you are taking each bite with bacon bits. Until the next review.... read more

I've been to the Anaheim Packing District a few times over the years. Nothing has truly impressed me, but if I'm there I'll always end up at the Kroft. I ordered the Braised Beef Melt ($10) and Garlic Fries ($6.) The sandwich was definitely a good call. It's a large portion and packed with meat, so you could definitely save half for later. As soon as I opened the sandwich up I could see the cheese melting off. The sandwich was packed with cheese and meat but it wasn't overwhelming because of the radish. The pickled radish was the perfect touch. It brought all of the flavors together and offset the meat well. The garlic fries on the other hand were mediocre at best. I was expected thin cut fries topped off with a lot off garlic. They were large cut fries seasoned with garlic here and there. I definitely wish I would've went upstairs to another restaurant that was serving thin cut garlic Parmesan fries. Again, they are located inside of the packing district so good luck finding parking and seating once you get inside. read more

This was actually an impromptu meal considering that we were actually just trying to find somewhere close to PopBar to eat so we could treat ourselves to ice cream after being good adults and having regular food first. The Packing House is a great little find in the Anaheim area, and The Kroft is tucked away on the bottom floor. They have a short, but well thought out, menu that makes picking an option easy even for indecisive eaters. I went with the short rib melt and got a side of fried cheese curds. The husband went for the classic poutine offering. The short rib melt was wonderful. I loved how the meat was cooked and the topping were tasty. I opted to remove the bread halfway through the second half of the sandwich (that's a lotta halves). The bread was good, but with the cheese curds on the side I needed to save room for gelato! The husband wasn't a huge fan of the poutine he picked out, but is definitely willing to give the other menu options a try next go round. They have a unique take and offer different kinds of poutine like a pot pie, a braised short rib and fried chicken poutine. Located in the Anaheim Packing District, it gets pretty crowded, usually a 10 minute wait. Your order is cooked pretty fast, which is great. They also offer sandwiches. My favorites have been the fried chicken poutine and the porchetta sandwich. The fried chicken poutine has gravy, cheese-curds and generous chunks of tender fried chicken on top of fries, soooo good way better than the short rib. The porchetta sandwich has pork meat with crispy pork rinds and a spicy salsa verde in between a nice ciabatta style baguette, definitely one of the most popular sandwiches. read more
I'm not sure why I thought "The Kroft" only made poutines, but at second glance, I was pleased to see that they offer sandwiches and other items. I've had a couple of their poutines before, and they are good, don't get me wrong, but it's typically something I only order when I'm craving salt. On this particular lunch, I spied their prime ribeye dip sandwich with au jus, and went for the kill. For $12, it was a decent sized sandwich, and a tasty one at that! The prime ribeye was flavorful and generous in between the bread. Dipping it into the au jus made it even more superb! The Kroft is consistently one of the more busier establishments at the Packing House, and I can see why. Not only is their food good, but the service is fast and efficient. read more

Finally went to Kroft at Anaheim packinghouse, did not disappoint. I was a little worried because I had high expectations on their take of the poutine fries, growing up in Canada, everyone had their own version of it. 1st time visiting Anaheim Packing House. So many options, I had a hard time deciding where to get food. The Kroft had the longest line, and looking at the menu, different types of poutine!!! I love Birria tacos and poutine...and I saw Birria poutine on the menu. This is like, when the stars align, I thought. Lol So I joined the line. When I got it, I was expecting it to be drenched in consommé, or at least in a to-go cup, on the side. It was just the braised beef. A little dry and underwhelming. Tried my cousin's chicken fried poutine, and that was good. read more
I wondered why The Kroft always had such a long line, and now I know - it's because its damn delicious! The brunch line is always insane so I never felt the urge to stand in it (I don't like waiting for my food lol) so on a Friday evening, with no line, my friends and I ordered: - fried chicken poutine - my first time trying poutine of any kind! It's definitely a heavier dish, super comfort food. Fries were great and crisp and wasn't drowned by the gravy or cheese - porchetta sandwich - super tasty!! Short Rib Poutine, you are so naughty. But I'd do you again. Oh yes, I would. Mmmm. Upon the recommendation of my good friend and fellow Yelper Ray S., I made the trek to the Anaheim Packing House to try this infamous dish. This historic hipster paradise houses many different types of cuisine so there is something for everybody. Lines are long, especially at The Kroft. But well worth the wait. Trust. What is Poutine? It's a creation that originated in Quebec that marries French fries, cheese curds and gravy into a dish so rich I swear my heart slowed down just a touch...definitely not healthy fare but my GAWD was it delicious! YERM. They take it one step further by adding a tender mound of shredded short rib on top to add to the decadence of it all. Lawd hammercy, order the damn thing already. I personally was not fond of the co-habby's Loco Moco Poutine as it tasted like there was ketchup in there. My taste buds accept gravy and cheese curds as a combination but I don't like ketchup plus I felt it didn't mesh well. And even if I did, I would think it would be best served having the solo starring role, not as part of this ménage a trois. Ahem. The Kroft...you will always be in my heart. Couldn't figure out what to eat at the Packing District so we decided to check out this place... Ordered: -Braised Short Rib Poutine $10 ...so lots of short rib shreds, unmelted mozzarella chunks?, pink onions, and gravy atop a bed of crispy french fries. The flavor is there, but overall it was a tad salty for my tastebuds. I couldn't handle more than 10 bites? -Porchetta Sandwich $10 ehh..tried a piece of the meat that fell out and it was dry..had a weird aftertaste :/ -Cucumber Lemonade was refreshing and had a strong cucumber flavor. Apparently their brews are good?...my coworker drank 3 -.- Theres very little sitting space meant for smaller parties (2-3 peeps) in their store but you can always sit in the public areas. read more

If you're looking for a something light to snack on with friends, this is a great place. Especially with a place like the Anaheim Packing District, you'll want to save room for dessert, drinks, and more! About the place: located inside the packing district. It gets full pretty quickly so have someone save you a seat while you're ordering food. Parking is so difficult on the weekends, valet was even full! The food: the fries are the best things here. I ordered the loco moco and short rib poutine fries. The food comes in to go containers so not that nice to take photos of but it's really filling! We shared these two with 4 people. The price is so reasonable too, it's about $9.00 per order. The drinks are not so great though (sorry!). We ordered lemonade but they only had cucumber mint lemonade. The cucumber was a little over powering!! The wait time for the food was reasonable, there are a lot of people. read more

The Kroft is located in the Anaheim Packing District and they are known for their poutine! I got the Country Fried Chicken Poutine ($9) and it was a tasty snack, definitely enough to share between two people. The cheese curds were yummy! I wouldn't get the poutine all the time, but it's good for a once in a while snack. Parking at the Anaheim Packing District is very hard to find, especially on a Saturday night. You can either do valet parking or try to find parking on the street nearby. After 5-10 minutes of searching, we were lucky and found a parking spot a couple streets down. read more

Although The Kroft has aesthetically pleasing food, it has its downsides. It's the only place (aside from Popbar) at Anaheim Packing House that I have eaten at. I definitely need to eat their hotpot and KBBQ and ice cream and I guess everything now that I think of it. Yes, The Kroft is delicious, but it's extremely greasy. I think that's the main negative that I experienced when eating their food. When I went, I got the country fried chicken poutine, garlic truffle fries, and a cucumber mint lemonade. At the very bottom of the carton, there's a layer of grease. It's all over the food, as well. It was all delicious, though! The drink was very sour, and I couldn't taste enough of the cucumber. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it's very filling. It's pretty heavy, so consider sharing it with someone, paired with another food item to share. I believe, aside from Popbar, this is one of the most packed places. The line is pretty lengthy, but like most places, it's worth it. "Patience is a virtue," right? You order first, they give you get a number/buzzer, then you get your food. The amazing thing about Anaheim Packing District is that you have so many places to choose from for seating, so you don't have to sit in the tight space that The Kroft offers. read more

O.M.G. What a hidden meat gem downstairs in the corner of the Packing District! :O I came around 7ish on a Friday night, and surprisingly, the line wasn't that long. Only waited like 5-10 minutes to order, then another 10-15 minutes for the food to come out. My friends and I couldn't decide what to order, everything on their menu sounds so good. So after much debating, we decided on 3 of their poutine dishes (Braised Short Rib, Country Fried Steak, & Chicken Pop Pie). -Braised Short Rib: very tender, I really like the mushrooms & onions, wish they gave more mushrooms though -Country Fried Steak; Mini deep fried chicken ball steaks with the white gravy topped with onions & bacon. I recommend asking for extra gravy sauce. You are going to need it -Chicken Pop Pie: unique, very unique. Never had a pop pie with fries before. I suggest if you get a poutine dish, share it with someone. One is too much for one person to eat alone. My friends (2 guys) and I couldn't finish everything, in the end, we had like a whole full box of fries left. Hint: It gets HELLA stuffy downstairs, so I recommend you eat upstairs with your food/drinks. read more

Nothing really bad to say about this place! But then again I only tried their regular poutine fries. The portion is good enough to share with 2 or 3 people. Located downstairs inside Anaheim Packing District! Definitely want to try their other flavors when I get the chance though! I like how the regular poutine fries isn't as salty as other places and not DRENCHED with gravy. It has a good balance of both the sauce and the saltiness. read more
The Off-Kroft. FOOD: I ordered the marsala fries with the fried chicken sandwhich. It was ok. Chicken was dry, bread was hard, and the fries didn't taste good. Nothing to spit your food out for. QUANTITY: Standard amount of sandwhich and fries in what you order. SERVICE: Quick cooking and attentive. They are super busy because the packing district is filled to the brim most of the time. PRICE: Roughly $15 for both items. Standard price for a sandwhich and fries. SUMMARY: It was not worth it for my taste buds. It gets a 2/5 from me. read more
