Folks taking the orders were super duper nice, but I sure wish they'd asked me about validating my parking, something I'm unused to and forgot to ask about at the till. I never review places on here BUT I visited this Black Tap on 8/1 around 6pm with fam of 5. When we arrived to the door we were greeted and told that only "seating was outside and in the hot sun." I asked if we could wait to find seating inside and they let me know that rarely happens. I informed them we would be ok waiting and they told me if the food was out we would need to sit where it was available. It felt as if they were trying to get us to not eat at the restaurant. We agreed to still order and try to find a seat. Once we ordered a worker came up to me and informed me they had a table outside for us. She made conversation & I attempted to smooth my annoyance with the situation. She was able find a table that had half the shade. But 2-5 mins later sun moved and we were in the direct sunlight. The chairs and tables are black which made it hotter. The outside fans were not on either. When a table opened up near by I asked to be moved and they told me that it was already reserved for someone else. I went inside to use the restroom saw another table open and Every time I asked for help to sit in a different spot that was empty I was denied. The restaurant was busy and it was over 100. I asked if they could lower the shades and they said they were broken. The worker stated "they have always been broken and everything is cheap". Overall not a good experience. The food was good but could not enjoy. We have been to the Black Tap in Vegas, where it is BUSIER and BETTER service. I don't see us returning to the Anaheim location nor recommending to anyone. read more

Conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Disney, this is a great restaurant/bar to dine at as it has a large dining area and ordering is quick and easy. The menu is not that large. They have a minimum food selection, mainly burgers but still really good. The pickles I ordered were not good at all though!! They looked and tasted fake which was disappointing. The service was ok. It's self seating but It took forever to get someone to come and clean off our table but eventually had to ask a manager to get someone over. I ordered the Texan Burger with cheese fries and expected bold, smoky barbecue flavors to burst in my mouth with every bite. Unfortunately, it never delivered. It flatlined. The burger itself was a normal size, but the patty was extra thick. It was dry and lacked flavor, which is hard to believe because barbecue sauce makes everything taste delicious. Instead, the burger tasted flat and left me disappointed. The cheese fries were overwhelming; too much sauce for the amount of fries. The onions were cut too thick and overpowered every bite. The service style reminded me of Porto's. You stand in a long line to order, and then they give you a number, grab your own drinks, and find your own table before the food is brought out. From the time we got in line until our food arrived, it was about a 40-minute wait. The restaurant was packed. The drink machines ran out of ice, and we could not find a table to seat 5. Thankfully, one of the employees was friendly and helped us find a seat on the patio. I was thankful for that because the dining room was really loud. Once our food arrived, we asked for ranch, but nobody ever brought it. There is no table service; this is quick service. I will be back to try the famous CrazyShakes; everyone said they are totally worth it. I think we will try Splitsville or Naples next time we are in Downtown Disney. read more

So just to clarify... This review is just for the chocolate shake and the Brooklyn Black out shake as that is all that I had there. I also don't know about the ambiance as I only ordered through the walk-up window and so I never stepped inside the actual place. They service was pretty quick at long as the people in front of you order quickly. Lol The family in front of are only 4 people but wow they took about 15 minutes to place their order. -__- Anyhow, when I got to the window, the person taking the order was friendly and took my order quickly and correctly. Kevin and I have now visited Black Tap in Downtown Disney for the second time, and it has quickly become one of our favorite post park treats. We've tried one of their classic shakes both times, and we always go for the peanut butter shake, which is absolutely delicious every time. It has that rich, consistent flavor we really look for, and it's easily something we look forward to after a long Disneyland day. One of the biggest things we've appreciated is the consistency. Even with two different employees making our shakes, they've tasted exactly the same both times, which is a really big plus for us. We like knowing that what we order is going to taste the same every visit. The service has also been consistently excellent. The employees seem genuinely friendly and like they enjoy what they're doing, and we've never felt rushed or unwelcome when walking up to place an order. The setup is also super convenient it's a walk up window, we usually wait about 3-5 minutes, and then we're on our way. It makes it the perfect quick stop while walking through Downtown Disney. We usually grab our shake, share it while strolling through the area, and then head back to the car after a full Disneyland day. It's become such a nice little tradition to end our visits on a sweet note. Overall, we really love this spot and will definitely continue coming back. Black Tap one of my favorites when it comes to burgers! I had only been to the one in Las Vegas in the Venetian so I was ecstatic when I saw they had one in Downtown Disneyland! When we first went in, I noticed a vast difference between the two. This one is not as nicely put together as the other and you have to order via QR code at the front then find somewhere to sit. We ordered the wagu burger with fried pickles, a chicken caesar salad, and their peppercorn sauce on the side. The burger? 10/10 that is exactly why I love that place so much. The wagu beef with the A1 sauce and the onion shoe strings was juicy and delicious. The fried pickles were crunchy and yummy. I enjoyed dipping my fries in the peppercorn aoli sauce . The salad unfortunately was not what we ordered (Caesar) but we decided to eat it anyway and whatever type of salad it was was soggy strange tasting and not very good at all.. Service? Wonderful in the front but once we were seated our server didn't seem to want to be our server which for Disneyland is strange because their service is usuallyyyy impeccable anywhere you go. The ambiance was 1,000 degrees with flies. Tables were dirty, it overall made me feel hot and uncomfortable and want to wash my hands twice, if they can work on that as well as paying attention to detail they could be just as wonderful as the other locations because their burgers are absolutely delicious! I have yet to try their crazy shakes but I have tried their regular chocolate shake and it was delish! I would return and give this location another shot because I like to stay optimistic. read more

I wanted to try black tops for so long, but during my first visit, I have to say it was a bit underwhelming. Definitely a decent burger place, but the size of the burgers are average and the meats are all charred various parts. I tried to Waggy burger and I'm trying to be biased, but In-N-Out still reign supreme. Pretty bad and an unexpected item for this place in my opinion. Service is friendly, but a bit slow to wait to order. Who came about 20 minutes after our order. The interior is dark at night time and can get really loud. After following Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer for many years on Instagram, we decided to stop by and give their food a try. I was initially skeptical that the food might be a little gimmicky, but I was surprised by how yummy it was! You order at the front counter and find a table, and then the food is brought to you. We visited on a Sunday night, so finding seating was a little challenging, so definitely keep that in mind. We decided to sample some appetizers and got the sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo, the fried cheese (mozzarella sticks), and the elote nachos. We also got the cake batter confetti milkshake. The sweet potato fries were fresh and delicious, and the chipotle mayo added a nice kick. The mozzarella sticks had an insane cheese pull, and the marinara sauce was creamy and flavorful. The elote nachos were good, but they maybe had 20 corn kernels on them. They were definitely more like chips and queso than elote nachos, so I would probably skip this one next time. The milkshake genuinely tasted like cake batter and had yummy sprinkles that gave it a nice texture. Overall, the food was great, and I will definitely stop here next time I am in Downtown Disney! read more

So I heard so many good things about this place and how their burger is delicious! It's a quick service, so you order your food at the counter and you take a number and seat yourself. We went towards the end of the night and were surprised to see how busy they were on a Thursday night. We opted for the wagyu steakhouse burger with the a1 on the side. The patty was cooked to perfection, but the flavor was lacking. Maybe because we omitted the a1 sauce? Personally I feel a good juicy burger comes with a flavorful patty that should carry the flavor in itself. The cheese fries however was delicious and plenty. This is a counter service restaurant where you walk up to the counter, place your order and then you find a table with your order number and the waiters will find you when the food is ready. The burgers are decent. For the price ($22 to $30 a burger) have had a lot better. So you are definitely paying the "Disney tax" The marketing seems to be their crazy shake. Tried the Wagyu Steakhouse Burger with fries at Black Tap in Anaheim. I have to admit, I was expecting more. When I see "Wagyu" on the menu, I expect a burger that's rich, flavorful, and juicy. Unfortunately, this one fell short. The burger had decent flavor, but it was dry and just didn't have the juicy bite I was hoping for. The fries were also overcooked, which didn't help the overall meal. They were pretty busy since it was a weekend at Downtown Disney, so maybe that played a role, but I'd expect them to be prepared for that level of traffic. We have passed by Black Tap countless times on our visits to the Magic Kingdom. Every trip to Downtown Disney for dinner, I always wanted to stop by and sample their burgers and fries. On a recent overnight stay with the kids, I finally got my wish. And man, what a horrendous disappointment. It was a busy day at the park, with good sized crowds filling the area. Even so, the lines were quick, giving me hope that the food would quick and fresh. Sadly, what hit our table did not come close to our expectations. I kept it simple with the All-American Cheeseburger. The meat had a good and flavorful crust, but it felt like it had spent too much time under a heat lamp, becoming dry and not nearly as juicy as you expect a 'craft burger' to be. The lettuce was ... leathery, for lack of a better word, and unappealing in both texture and chew. My wife ordered The Texan Burger, with the sauce on the side. The only real standout for her was the Onion Ring, which made her wish we had ordered them as a side. As for the rest, she had the same reaction to her burger and veggies as I had with mine. Which brings me to those side pickles. Thick and with a great skin, they were gorgeous on the plate. However, when you pick them up, the interior color seemed slightly off, the flesh itself was oddly soggy to the point where it was a bit mushy, and the rind was much tougher than any pickle should be. Lastly, the the whole of it was nearly flavorless, with little vinegar and barely and seasoning. The fries were okay, though. And our son had some Korean BBQ Wings. He thought they were 'just okay.' Looking back at the picture of them, I can't help but wonder how long they stayed under that heat lamp alongside those burger patties. About the only saving grace we had on our visit was getting that aforementioned son an Oreo Cookies and Cream Shake. It was gorgeously made, very large, and thoroughly enjoyed by him. Honestly, if we hadn't gotten this on the way out, this would have been a 1-star review. So, in the end, an exceedingly disappointing first visit to Black Tap. There had been high hopes and expectations that were dashed as soon as our food hit the table. A sign on the wall says that this restaurant was "Born and Raised in New York." If that's true, that city better stick to pizza; because Black Tap has proven that their burgers suck. ----- And for the Disneyland Reviews List: Taste - Or the Overall Flavor: * * Milkshake was great. Fries and Onion Rings were pretty good. The Buffalo Wings were just ... m'eh. And the Burgers were nowhere near where they should have been for a place that has them as their main dish. On the plus side, if you have a hole in your Nikes, the lettuce can easily serve as shoe leather for patching. Convenience - Of the Seating & Service Options: * * * * There's a lot of space on the inside and there's plenty of additional seating on the outside patio. We got there on a pretty busy day and there was still small tables and booths available indoors and a good half of the tables available outside. That's pretty impressive for the volume of people that were dining at that dinner rush. Value - Will you walk away satisfied?: * * Every place in Disneyland is relatively over priced; the trick is to find food that will make you not want a snack two hours later, despite what you pay. Typically, paying around $15 per person is what you should expect, but still have a filling meal. A full meal here, with a burger, a side, and a drink, will top you out between $25-$30. If you're planning on walking around and enjoying the park, you can probably have lunch here and make it all the way to dinner without needing a snack ... but, that would mean not sharing. Kid Factor - Is there entertainment for the young ones?: * * Being in Downtown Disney means only having the local sights to keep the kids entertained. Black Tap itself has nothing to keep little ones' minds occupied; but, there are other multiple nearby spots that offer something of them as soon as you're done eating within visual distance. From bowling, to ice cream, to small toys, the promise of something to make them happy is just across the way. read more

I really enjoyed the music and the ambience. Their food was pretty solid. We ordered the Texan burger (which came with fries), fried mozzarella, one soda and one chocolate shake. The burger was really good and the fries were decent. The fried mozzarella was really good, but the grated cheese, which I believe was Parmesan, wasn't really needed. The fried mozzarella did well on its own and that cheese on top was an absolute salt bomb. The chocolate shake was flavorful and very interesting. PRO's: a pretty decent burger, and fries. Also, the staff was amazing. I hope management is proud of their employees because they did an outstanding job. CON's: the fries needed seasoning, the grated cheese on the fried mozzarella was way too salty. And unfortunately, they are incredibly overpriced!! BEEN wanting to try this place in DTD for the longest time! I noticed that they have a sign posted in the front saying they have a happy hour designated for their classic milkshakes for $8 starting at 9pm! My group and I ultimately decided to come and eat here for dinner and get the shakes for dessert. You order first at the cashier and then they give you a number on a stand so they know whose order is whose. They offer magic key discount here which saved me $3 total! Our food came out relatively quick. Food: Texan Burger (8.5/10): WOW! I absolutely loved this burger. Maybe I was really hungry but wow. I went on Yelp to see what the best burgers were based on the reviews and this ultimately showed up. At first, I didn't want it because of the BBQ sauce that came with the burger but you can substitute it! I subbed it out for their house sauce and it was delicious. Their house sauce is basically a thousand island sauce. The patty was juicy, and was a lot larger than the bun. I got it medium rare at first but then got scared it would be too bloody so I was able to change it to medium. The onion ring soaked up all the moisture from the sauce and lettuce so I wasn't able to get a crunch with each bite. The fries were honestly very delicious when it was hot and fresh but after a while, it was honestly very mediocre. I wish it came with a ranch pairing to dip it in or a side of their house sauce. It also comes with a side of a pickle cut in half vertically and ew. I usually love pickles but this literally tasted like a cucumber drenched in some acidic liquid. I wish it tasted better and thank god I tasted it before cutting it up and putting it with my burger. Cookies n Cream Shake (7/10): I love a good milkshake but this was sooooo heavy after a big burger and fries. It was more liquidy than I liked but there were a lot of chunks mixed into the milkshake. This one is DEFINITELY shareable. I got to try a sip of the brownie and funfetti one since 2 people in my group ordered it. The funfetti one is literally a vanilla shake with a ton of sprinkles in it (which is what funfetti is, I know). They only got this one because it was recommended by the people taking our order. Yall the line here is so deceiving. I truly don't get the hype. I mean, to be fair, I got a burger salad instead of a burger but it was just a huge portion and honestly nothing special. The pickles were also very lightly pickled, they were more basically still cucumbers. It's also suuuuper crowded in here, we had a hard time even finding a spot once we ordered and the music is super loud. Came on a busy summer weekday for dinner. The spot is cool for large groups who dont want to deal with the check afterwards because you order first, pay at the counter, and then find yourself a seat. Large selection of beers and brews. Extensive and impressive milkshakes and of course their burgers are outstanding. That said, they are obviously more of the gourmet burgers and on the pricier side. However, that is a given considering that you are in downtown Disney. Favorites were there black truffle burger, and their house fries. Definitely worth trying when you're in downtown Disney. Huh. I only posted my review a year ago. Wild how much things have changed. My kids requested black tap so we went there for dinner last night. We got our now usual order: chicken tenders & chicken Caesar salad for me. As soon as I bit into the lettuce, I knew something was off. Lack of flavor, but I thought that was okay because the chicken is so good, it will mask that. Nope. They didn't have that amazing seasoning we're familiar with. To top it all off, it's as if they fried a thinly sliced chicken breast that was dry and mostly crumby. They've always had thick juicy pieces on top of the salad. At least make the extra calories worth something. I noticed my kids picking at their food too. They said their tenders were terrible. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. I won't be paying $70 for food with no flavor. I did read another review that mentioned roaches. To be fair, that seems like a downtown Disney thing right now. I saw a couple of roaches throughout. We sat on the patio which felt like a nice little retreat from the hustle and bustle of downtown Disney, though it still provided all the excellent people watching views! Black Tap to me is one of those vacation staple restaurants. I have visited 3 of their locations around the country and its always a fun time visiting. The milkshakes are a perfect overindulgence for a sweet tooth person like myself. My last visit however was one my favorites. I tried the Chicken Sandwich, although a little small, was very flavorful with a nice sauce drizzle, soft buns, juicy pickles all coming together for a very tasty sandwich. I'm pretty picky with onion rings, but they make very good onion rings which paired nicely with their ranch. Also have to give them props for great ambiance, the speakers were booming with awesome 80's music this visit. I left my visit with a few new songs saved to my playlist. read more

Good food and crazy, big shakes! Always a stop for us on our Downtown Disney day. We look forward to our next trip there.

Located in the heart of Anaheim, Black Tap is one of those places that many often stop by but never seem to enter. But with the large pictures advertising crazy shakes and big burgers, I figured I'd stop by to grab a quick shake. Walking up to the restaurant, there was a designated to-go window for those looking to have a quick bite, and the main door for those looking to sit inside or at their outdoor patio. And looking to try their Funfetti Cake Batter Shake ($12), I waited in line for about 5 minutes before I was able to get my shake and be on my way. Looking at the shake, the size was pretty standard. And inside consisted of confetti sprinkles and the shake itself. Put bluntly, the $12 is very steep considering the size of this shake. Downtown Disney is known to put a heftier price on their food and other desserts which could explain the high price. But if you can find your way off property, most shakes will easily go for 4-6 dollars. These being said, the price to portion ratio was quite steep. Beginning with the eating experience, you will struggle with the given paper straws. Because of the moisture of the shake, the thick shake did not want to travel up the straw. This appeared to be a pretty consistent problem as the server handed me a spoon with my straw by default. The straw became soggy in a matter of 10 minutes which made consuming the shake very difficult. Taste-wise though, the shake was pretty delicious. However, it wasn't very special compared to any other shake I've had. The confetti sprinkles added some extra sugar which were distinguishable from the rest of the shake. However, the shake itself tasted like a more milky version of the frosting you would find on a typical birthday cake. The shake was good. The flavor was pretty rich and I enjoyed walking around with the shake in hand. But with the steep price tag, standard size, and difficult eating situation, I'd only rank Black Tap at a 3 star rating. Sure, lowering the price is probably not feasible given Black Tap's prime location. And maybe increasing the size would not help with the same problem. But if they could solve any problem, please return to giving plastic straws! Handing out a plastic spoon to go with paper straw creates more waste than just handing out a plastic straw first! In all, Black Tap's regular shake is an experience to be had, but an experience ONLY to say you've tried it. For next time, I'd probably go for one of the Crazy Shakes and call it a day. read more

Came here on a recent trip to Disney and I subtracted one star because the shake came out with the food which I woudl have wanted the food first. The shake was the star of the show! Definitely enough to serve 3 or even 4 people. It was my son and I and we got the cookies and cream shake and it was MASSIVE! I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries and my son got a burger and fries and the food was not magical or anything - it was jsut regular pub fare. The shake was yummy. It came with a huge ice cream sandwich on the side! I jsut wish it came out later so we could indulge in it after our meal. the shake literally came out before the food. Came here for lunch while visiting Disneyland. The ordering process is easy, you order at the counter and find your own seating. I thought that the black truffle burger was great, and I liked that you can choose the cook on the patty (medium rare, medium, etc.). I think the fries were just ok, but the burger met my expectations. You can also use your Magic Key discounts here which is a nice perk. read more

On a Saturday in December, it wasn't too crazy busy. There was no line to order and was able to find a table. You can get validation for up to three hours after the first hour. My burger was absolutely delicious. Texan burger: medium rare was cooked to perfection and the patty and burger did not fall apart as I was eating it. The bun wasn't cut all the way through and was still in "one piece" and it made the biggest difference. I was able to enjoy it without it falling apart spilling everywhere. Huge fan of onion rings so I love the large onion ring inside. The BBQ sauce was also yummy but I wish there was a little more. Price is steep, costed $25 for this burger but as expected in Downtown Disney. read more

My youngest daughter's boyfriend recommended this place to us, and I'm happy to say, it did not disappoint. He mainly raved about this place for their eccentric milkshakes, but we decided to make a meal out of it. They're tucked back in Downtown Disney and have a pick up counter, or you can dine in. You stand in line and grab a menu, then order at the register and pay. They give you a number and you find a place to sit. It was packed, but we found a couple barstools towards the center of the restaurant. Our shakes arrived first. My oldest got an original strawberry shake, my youngest got the Special Edition CrazyShake featuring Disney Mickey Mouse. It had a Vanilla Frosted Rim with Disney's Mickey Mouse Sprinkles topped with a Homemade Mickey Mouse-Shaped rice krispy treat, White and Red Rock Candy, Whipped Cream, Red Sprinkles and a Cherry. Wow! I opted for the Strawberry Shortcake which had Vanilla Frosted Rim with Crumbled Cake topped with a Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bar, Pink and White Twisty Pop, Whipped Cream, Strawberry Drizzle, Crumbled Cake and a Cherry. Yum! Next, our food came out. My oldest and I both got the crispy chicken sandwich which had Buttermilk Coleslaw, Cilantro, Fresh Lime, Spicy Mayo and Korean BBQ. She got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were good, but not the best I've had. My youngest got the All-American Burger and said it was very good. It's kind of loud inside and they have outdoor seating as well, but at the time of day, the sun was going to be right in our eyes, so we were thankful to find something inside. We have come to Disneyland so many times, but we've never stopped in. We were here for Thanksgiving and we decided to try it because we were craving burgers. We were able to walk in and were told we had to order first and then could choose whatever seat we wanted. It was pretty busy inside so we went to sit outdoors. It was nice because the outdoor seating was covered so we were comfortable outside just as we would have been inside. The staff was helpful and patient since it was our first time. There were lots of patrons, but ordering was quick and easy. We ordered 2 adult burgers, 1 kids burger, 1 kids chicken tenders, 2 Arnold palmers and two Oreo cookie shakes. We paid $124 for two adults and two kids. Everything tasted to our liking. We would probably return next time we visit Disney since this is located in Downtown Disney. read more

I love that that you're able to leave Disneyland and go to Downtown Disney for burgers. We were going to eat at the Jazz kitchen, but after looking at the menu and wanting burgers we decided to go here with the suggestion of one of my friends who'd try this spot. You get in line and order and then they take the food to your table. I love this cause it feels like things go so much quicker this way. It's pretty spacious inside. There is a lot of seating, however there are reserved seating so it did limit the amount of seats. I did get lucky and found a seat for four. We all got burgers. I got the Old Fashion which was a mushroom swiss burger, one of my friends go the Mexico City which is a burger that jas jalapenos and onion ring, and my other two friends got the Texan burger and this has onion rings and bbq sauce. We were able to choose how it's cook. I'm a medium rare gal. The bun was soft, burgers tasted delicious and not dry at all. It comes with fries and a pickle spear. I loved this place for burgers.
