Phenomenal food, absolutely recommend dining here if you're looking for a spot in the packing district! The wagyu smash burger was incredible, definitely would get that again! They also have tons of yummy sides and fries. We tried the garlic fries and the Mac and cheese, both were delicious!! Tons of spots to eat in the building as well as outdoor space.
My brother and I decided to go here after wandering around and I can say that this place is good! I had the wagyu smash burger and it's pretty decent! The burger itself is a bit dry but the cheese and sauce balance it out. The cheese does get a bit overwhelming at times but other than that it's pretty good! The size of the burger too is big in my opinion (I don't usually eat very much) but the burger is definitely good to split between 2 people! The parking area is kind of ok but hard to find parking even on a Friday around noon. Overall: would go here if the wait isn't too long!
Our burgers were so delicious and filling. We both tried their new signature smash burgers ; the spicy jack smash burger and the French onion dip smash burger. They were both good but somehow tasted almost the same in terms of toppings. The only major difference of course is the sauce it includes (still good!). They weren't too greasy and didn't sit heavy on a full stomach. I wish they gave more complimentary sauces alongside their combos but it's 37cents extra per more sauce. With that being said, if you decide to get more sauce; the pineapple habanero sauce was phenomenal! I couldn't get enough of it. The seating is comfortable given how much space they're allotted to. The service was friendly, quick, and efficient. It's definitely worth the try
I came here with my parents on a Saturday around 12:30pm. It was kind of loud, so I had a hard time hearing. Thankfully, they take your name and number, then text you when your order is ready. My dad got the BBQ Ranch Smash Fries. My mom got the Grilled Cheese. I got the Beef Melt. Fortunately for my dad, we agreed that the fries were the best. Unfortunately for my dad, we insisted on sharing. One word of advice... check out the "Texas" donut at the nearby Randy's Donuts! It's hilariously big!
We wanted to grab lunch and walked around checking everything out and we ended up coming here and it was fantastic Customer Service was above and beyond We placed our order found a seat to sit they brought out our drinks and items presentation was awesome Food was incredible everything was nice and hot very fresh Garlic fries so perfect Smash burger was delicious Our sandwiches were so flavorful and filling Everything was perfect the area was great vibe and customer service again top notch they checked in on us from time to time! I highly recommend this place to everyone to try!
The Kroft, located at The Packing District, was one of the most exciting restaurants to be at, especially during the holidays, as it was just festive and fun filled during the holidays! This restaurant fit perfectly into the ambiance of The Packing District, which features a modern, cozy atmosphere and offers many different menu options. I ordered the smash burger which did not let me down. The smash burger that I ordered was extremely juicy, flavorful, and was cooked to perfection. The smash burger that I ordered also included a nice caramelized crust, which provides a smash burger additional flavor. I paired my smash burger with their gravy smothered fries, topped with fried chicken. Their gravy smothered fries were excellent because they were very crispy prior to being smothered in gravy, and the fried chicken on top of the gravy provided an additional crunchy texture and seasonings to each bite of the fries and to the gravy. The combination of the gravy smothered fries and fried chicken made for a rich and deliciously flavored dish that could have easily been its own holiday treat. Inside the Kroft there was very little seating. However, despite the large crowds and long wait lines during the holidays, the Kroft staff were friendly and helpful! Getting a table and having a chance to enjoy their food while experiencing the great vibe of the Packing District was relatively simple and enjoyable. My experience at the Kroft was both satisfying and fun and has already got me thinking about returning to the Kroft when I go to the Anaheim Packing District again, where I will definitely order another smash burger!
Etched in the packing district with dozens of food options to choose from, one of my favorite options to choose from for food that always satisfies whatever mood I'm in is The Kroft. Small seating area (to be expected it's the packing district), the menu is plentiful and the workers are helpful, especially with a lot of items I've never tried before. Got the loco moco and the classic fries, and my goodness I could eat 10 boxes of each. Fries are cooked well, nothing dry of any sorts and the additions to each stand out in their own respective ways. Didn't have to wait too long either, and every time I think about the packing district I think of the kroft. Try the poutine, it's great
My son was arriving at LGB aka Long Beach Airport and so after picking him up we went to LBX Hangar to see what interests my taste buds when I walk around the food court. So I saw their rotisserie cooking up the pork belly Porchetta and so I went with the Porchetta sandwich. Some cheese curds with garlic Mayo and a French onion smash burger. The service was ok, at least there were no mistakes. The burger and sandwich were good. The Porchetta on ciabatta was a bit oily, but very tasty. I would actually try some of their other sandwiches. The smash burger was also very tasty but it was a bit salty, maybe from the Parmesan cheese crisp. Let's see what I go with next time.
In Packing district. Walked in and looked at photos on wall.The Smashburger caught my eye. So I ordered the combo but thru my phone. It was my first time using the app. I ordered but it was a bit confusing. I went up as my text arrived that my Combo Smashburger was ready. As I got my food I looked around to find a place to sit as you know this place is always packed and stuffy down stairs. I went upstairs got a spot only to remember I didn't get my drink so I went back and I asked the girl in pick up she said she couldn't give it to me I had to go to the line again. Really for a drink I already paid for and I even showed her the receipt attached. So I had to wait again for a while just to get to the front and ask she said oh yeah the online is specific when you order and if it didn't have anything then we don't serve it. It was a loss of time it's just a cup of a drink paid for the first girl should have helped. Ugh Only to try to get the spot back and of course it was taken. So the burgers sauce was messy. I felt the Double patty advertised is s super thin one that doesn't even make one normal size. I felt that it was.more brioche bun and sauce than anything. The fries were good they were super soft tho. Not sure bc of the wait time for a drink or if they toss them in too much liquid(sauce) for garlic fries. Overall I won't be ordering from them again. On to trying something new there
Saw some videos online about people stopping by this place in the packing district. Ended up dropping by for the wagyu fries. Easy ordering and plenty of seats. Their fries can take a little time to cook probably because of the burger. Was tasty and a nice snack. It was also super filling. There's so many options around but this place stood out and it was a nice cute environment to sit and eat at.
I rarely go to the Anaheim Packing House but every time I do, I get food from The Kroft, and it's always a poutine. You cannot go wrong with the poutine. Service is standard; I received my order in 10 minutes. There's plenty of general seating all around the Packing House, so you don't need to sit directly at the food stand. I usually get the country fried chicken poutine. It comes with sausage gravy, cheese curds, chicken nuggets, bacon, and green onions. The last time I got this, the chicken was very dry, almost overcooked, but this time it was piping hot and the right amount of crisp. Personally, I think there needs to be more gravy and more fries. It is a little pricey though. If you are hungry, I would recommend getting a burger or sandwich with a side of fries.
My boy and I decided to head to the Anaheim Packing District for the last night if our SoCal trip. Plus, it was my very first time visiting! Since we couldn't decide on a restaurant, we went on to pick our own places to grab a bite from. The Kroft was bookmarked on my list but I couldn't remember what for. Then I looked at the menu and it hit me! The PB & J Wagyu Smashburger! I went on to place my order with the friendly staff. On top of ordering the burger I had to get a side of fries. Turn around time was decent due to the fact it was a Friday night and busy. I met with my boy at a table he found and I unpacked my order. The PB & J Wagyu Smashburger looked immaculate. I was hooked with the sweet and savory flavor, medium cooked patty, and fresh condiments. The fries were nice and crispy. But I'll most definitely need to be back to try their other menu offerings.
We came to The Anaheim Packing District not really knowing anything about it. I knew there was a Popbar there, but I'm not eating ice cream bars for dinner. Not this week, at least. We walked downstairs and saw a sign for The Kroft. Wait, do I see a Porchetta Sandwich on the menu? F#$% yeah!!!!!!!!! The only Porchetta I've had is from Roli Roti in SF, but it is probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! I knew I had to have this for my pre-ice cream meal. I would've been happy with that, but then I saw a Braised Short Rib poutine. Hello?!? Yes, please! And, to top it off, I wanted to try the Cucumber Mint Lemonade. So, first off, the Porchetta Sandwich. It was really good! Just not as good as Roli Roti in my opinion. However, this one comes with a spicy pesto sauce that is out of this world! On to the poutine. The poutine was done right! From the crispiness of the fries, to the tenderness of the beef, to the texture and taste of the cheese curds. However, my favorite part of the dish had to have been the pickled red onions. Wow. Just wow. As far as the lemonade is concerned, I didn't like it at all. I tried to give it a go with a few sips, but not my cup of tea (err, lemonade). Tasted like sweetened cucumber water with a minty citrusy kick. Other people seemed to love it (based on the Yelp reviews I read), but sorry, no bueno to my taste buds. The food was good enough for me to come back and try other things, so I think I will do that the next time I come in. But, if my friend came with me and ordered any of these items again (sans lemonade), I will have to grab some of theirs when they're not looking. read more
I've been wanting to try poutine for years and finally got the chance to try it at Kroft. Place your order and they will give you a pager. Braised short rib poutine ($9.00): sautéed mushrooms, curds & pickled onions. I liked the pickled onion and cheese curd. The fries were tasty even without the sauce. The first bite was amazing but I got tired of eating after a while. Country poutine ($8.00): fried chicken, bacon & country gravy. This one was good but they were stingy with the fried chicken. Only 2 pieces of fried chicken strips per order. This one is better than the short rib poutine. I recommend sharing the poutines because the portion is not that small and you won't get tired of eating them. 3.5 stars!! The Kroft is kinda yummylicious!! read more
The Kroft has ruined every other chicken sandwich experience I'll ever have. Probably for the rest of my life even. Not only is it cooked perfectly crispy, that jalapeno slaw that's mixed with their house dressing is just everything you could ask for in between two pieces of bread. It's super fattening, but I'd eat two and contemplate taking a third to go. I love it that much. Could I actually eat more than one? Probably not - but the pain and suffering I'd go through to try would totally be justifiable. It's a big portion, but others at your table will be regretting not getting one for themselves. I've tried ordering this at other restaurants and it falls flat. Why? Because it's not The Kroft. I hold that as my bar for where a chicken sandwich should come in at and if it's any different, I'll probably scoff and look in the other direction. Yeah - I'm becoming a chicken sandwich snob. #ohwell. And that poutine! They have different versions, but my all time favorite is the chicken pot pie. I'm a huge fan of the comfort food, so when it's added on top of some perfectly fried potatoes and comboed with some fabulous cheese curds - all other food can literally go to hell at that point. There's a reason why this place is always packed. They have limited seating, so I'd stake out a place in another area of the Packing House to eat. Just make sure you get some of amazing lemonade to quench the spice you'll experience while mowing down on your new favorite chicken sandwich! Sharing is caring and I'd bring a few friends so you can navigate through the menu and try a little of everything! Make sure to follow them on social media as they announce seasonal specials. Tried the braised short rib poutine! It was pretty good, and it was $9 but the food comes out fast and they give you a pretty good portion, in my opinion. I probably wouldn't come often just because of the cramped spaces and the prices. I recommend for you to try it once! I'll probably come back to try the classic or the country fried chicken. read more
OH DON'T you know E'H this place got some jamming poutine. located at the infamous packing district this place will make a maple leaf fan, put maple syrup on eggs and grab a donut at Tim Hortons (All Canadian references) If your coming on a weekend or Friday night be prepared for some pretty long lines. But don't be worried they got a beeper system to get you when your order is fresh and hot. Seating is pretty limited so if your looking for one in the Kroft you gotta be ready, like Its black Friday and your trying to find a parking spot. Service was fast and speedy and if you wait to watch you can watch some of the meats rotate, sizzle and get magical. I recommend you take your order outside and sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy a nice breeze maybe a brew and sit and enjoy life with your bro's or significant other. This place isn't your Canadian grandmother's poutinery. It is one that you would go to after a night out. It takes the classic recipe of fries, gravy and cheese curds and puts a little American twist on it. With choices like various meats, sauces and veggies this place kicks it up a few notches. The beef braised shortrib poutine takes the classic recipes adds some pickled onions, some slow braised shortrib and adds some beefy gravy. First bite in your mouth explodes, possibly from how hot the fries are, but really the savory flavor of the gravy, curds and shortrib and the contrast of the pickled onions really go. The 2nd bite is just as good. It can get a bit messy. Make sure to keep munching as with most fries as time goes on they lose their crunch especially with the gravy. Overtime your taste buds might become overloaded with all the goodness and dull out especially near the end when your super stuffed. Definitely one of those instagram famous foods at the packing district Overall pretty awesome sauce of a place. Poutine is still relatively new to southern California unless your in one of those few areas with a huge Canadian population. Definitely gotta grab some Poutine while at the packing district and while you may have a big selection of choices this place is the cats meow. Once you get your food, snap a quick pic and get to munching. The Kroft's Poutine will have you offering donuts to stranger's and having abooot as much fun as a Young one skating on a newly frozen poond (more Canadian references) read more

The prime rib sandwich was amazing! I added cheese with my sandwich because it gives it a completeness and wholeness. My stomach is growling as I type this. Fyi: they run out of the prime rib sandwich every now and then so come sooner than later. Their chicken pot pie poutine fries are huge and totally a great sharing dish. It was the perfect mix of flavors and I savored every bite :) If you're looking to spice things up, the Louisiana hot sauce they have goes great with almost everything on the menu. read more
The Kroft is located on the first floor of Hipster Paradise, aka Anaheim Packing District/The Packing House. I went in with pretty high expectations after hearing so much about this place from friends and fellow yelpers. I must say, The Kroft lived up to expectations, and even surpassed them. We ordered the Loco Moco Poutine Special. An over easy egg rested beautifully atop gravy drenched fries, accompanied ever so well by tasty cheese curds and tender, almost meatloaf consistency beef. The running of the egg yolk perfectly complimented all of the flavor action going on here. The gravy was the exact desired thickness and taste. It's almost as if the gravy and fries were one, not two separate entities. The fries were flawlessly crispy (even with the gravy) and blended immaculately with all of the components. The cheese curds were delightful and light. The beef was seasoned perfectly, and almost melted in my mouth. Move over Belly Bombz kitchen; The Kroft has perfected the art of the poutine. This dish executed perfect proportions of all the ingredients. I would give this 6 stars if I could. I can't properly describe how good this was, although I have tried. Words cannot possibly do it justice. The cucumber mint lemonade was horrible, if you have a regular palate. If you're a juice faster and are used to cucumber juice, then you may like it. But for most, save your money and don't get it. I've tried 5 places in APD. I recommend them in the following order: 1. The Kroft--comfort food reinvented. 2. Hans' Homemade Ice Cream--homemade ice cream and frozen treats. 3. Orange Tei--sushi and ramen. 4. Kettle Bar--southern seafood and drinks. 5. Popbar--handcrafted gelato on a stick. If you're visiting APD for the first time, I would definitely hit up The Kroft. So far in my experiences at Hipster Paradise, the Kroft's Loco Moco poutine is the best item I've had the pleasure of devouring. read more
Thank you guys for bringing Poutine to the OC! These guys also make amazing sandwiches! The prime rib sandwich is delicious and in a huge form. You get loads of meat. Then they have different poutines. Different styles with a twist and also the original. The short rib poutine is crazy good! The service is on point and the build out is visually awesome. Deep within the Packing District lies many delicious and meticulously clean eateries. One will be pleasantly surprised when one stumbles across The Kroft, located within the city of Anaheim at the Packing House. The line is but a small price to pay for the delicious food that The Kroft whips out food at an incredible speed. Don't think that their speedy service means their food service is lacking, quite the opposite. One of the best French fries around originate from The Kroft, right here at the Packing house. The Kroft does not disappoint. Don't even pause and think that when your food arrives in that pleasant brown resonating with heat bag that their food is anything but quality. The Kroft's garlic truffle oil French fries are simply to die for, or kill for. Which ever one prefers really. These garlic truffle oil French fries though are the perfect combination on garlic and truffle oil. Don't even stop and think that these French fries are going to be soggy. They are crisp and in every bite you will find small slivers of shaved garlic. If one is in the neighborhood, one should definitely stop by for a taste. read more

OMG! You have to wait in a long line? Wawawahhh WHAT!? You're sold out of particular items on your menu? Shame on you for such a successful day! This next rant is addressed to the crybabies: Please rate a place based on the service and the food. The Kroft boasts fresh ingredients. To me, that means, if they run out of arugula or bread near the end of the day, they can't sell you a flippin' porchetta. Roll with it, try another sandwich or the poutines. They've been open for less than a month in a tiny spot, so I would assume they can't really have in stock a gagillion (yes, that is a scientific measurement) pounds or crates of ingredients. There is only so much room to store that stuff so I imagine selling out is inevitable for a small location and a super high demand. Yes, the packing house is packed, do you want a hand-written apology from someone? You've been warned, stand in line with some granola from Buy N Bulk and get a handle of that HANGRY you're harvesting. Now onto the food: Favs: Kroft Fried Chicken and Porchetta... mmm... zesty pesto and arugula with tender cubs of pork and crunchy skin. Good, but not my steeze: Prime Rib Dip... purely because there is just too much meat! (thas what she said). Chicken Pot Poutine, to me I could've used more seasoning, but others seem to really enjoy it. Tip: Poutine's are definitely to share, I think with 3-4 friends is a good amount or 2 heffers. Service: The cashier gal was really helpful in explaining the menu and portion sizes for my friends and I to gage the right amount to order. When the line died down a bit another girl came out from behind the counter and refilled our napkins. We told her our fries were a little dry and she quickly fetched us a small container of the gravy for us to drizzle over. Great service! Hands down my favorite place in the Anaheim Packing House! It's definitely really filling too so you can share one with a friend. The poutines are super good here and perhaps melt in your mouth too! I tried the loco moco with my friend and we really enjoyed it. The egg was cooked perfectly and tasted great with the fried onions! They have sriracha, ketchup, and Louisiana hot sauce provided. Of course we had to go all in with hot sauce and it tasted amazing. I also enjoy that they provide free water cups if you need to quench your thirst. Another great thing is the buzzers that alert you when your order is ready because the house can get quite noisy at times. If you're ever in Anaheim, I would stop by just for this place! read more

I need to try everything on their menu! we started with poutine and pork sandwich! poutine was to die for... omg the juiciness of the meat and the cheese curls and fries! what more can you ask? I am a freak for potatoes and this tops all the places I've ever had! something about their meat was extraordinary! no wonder why there is such a long time! the pork sandwich was pretty good too! pork was definitely chewy but flavor was very flavorful! we got tempted to try something different so went and ordered I think it was called roasted beef but I could be wrong. its the kind you dip it aju sauce! we each took a bite of it and feel in love even more! wished we had more room to get more but we had to save our room for ice cream and beers! Second time here and again its like a hit or miss on the food. Decided not to go out of what I liked from my prior purchase so I went safe and ordered the same sandwich from before. Porchetta-- My "go-to" Sandwich. Can't go wrong with this pick. Bread was soft. Pork actually tasted better the. The first time I had this. Wasn't too salty but savory and delicious. Skin was super thin but wasn't as crunchy so I'm guessing I got pieces that sat out the entire day before they sliced it up and threw it in my sandwich. But given it wasn't as salty.. It made up for the less crunch of the pig skin. Fries-- My daughter is a bit picky when it comes to food. Plus she ate before she left the house and just had a cup of ice cream. She told me she wanted fries so I bought her regular fries since she's not into the saucy or garlic fries offered. Disappointed with the fries. Fries are like the simplest thing to deep fry and serve! I haven't a clue how old the oil is or what type is used but the fries came out hard and full of oil. Pretty disgusting. My daughter ate one and that was it. She didn't even want more (and she's a frie lover). Whatever u do don't order fries. I'm guessing the other fries are cooked the same way just depends what toppings you order. read more

Love The Kroft but it's a hit or miss for me. I've been here 3 or 4 times and there were times where it was really good and there were times where it was just okay. This time I tried the cheeseburger poutine. It's new on the menu. It was really good! I wasn't expecting a whole beef patty to be there BUT it was. And that made it even better. It definitely tasted like a cheeseburger plus more carbs but hey, I'm not complaining. I LOVE FRIES. It smells like in n out animal fries and who doesn't love that smell? I think it's worth a try if you love potatoes mixed with fun ingredients. Oh, Try the fried cheese turds! read more

Ughhhh I love poutine and this place was poutine heaven! I ended up getting the Loco Moco poutine - PERFECT. I also ordered their refreshing cucumber mint lemonade. Service was great too - for some reason I initially ordered the Japanese katsu curry poutine even though my heart and soul was set on the Loco Moco. I had paid and everything and sat down when it dawned on me that I order the wrong thing! I went up to the register and asked if it was too late to change my order and even though the cook had already started he said it would be no issue! I was only visiting Anaheim for the weekend, BUT if I lived closer I would definitely try all of the different poutines they have to offer! read more

My first time at the Anaheim Packing House and of course had to try The Kroft. I haven't eaten enough of the menu to give it a five star, but it sure is on it's way there. It's located right down the stairs on the lower level, next to the Vietnamese place. It was a Sunday night, so the line wasn't too long.. but I can imagine it being ridiculous on a Friday or Saturday night. They have a little dining area, but just with a couple tables. We ordered the short rib poutine ($9) and the fried cheese curds. LOVE LOVE LOVE. The short rib poutine was good. Lots of gravy and cheese :) The fries were really good. they were crispy and seasoned very well. Short ribs were very tender. And the pickled red onions added a little acidity and lightness to the whole thing. The fried cheese curds ($4) were really good as well. Some pieces had nothing in them though.. cheese probably melted out into the fryer. It came with a spicy mayo sauce. So delicious. Could eat these all day. Cucumber Mint Lemonade ($3.5) was different, but very refreshing with the heavy poutine and fried cheese curds. Have to go back to try their sandwiches and chicken pot pie poutine?!? Got the fried chicken poutine and the prime rib sandwich- both were good. The fried chicken bits were nice and crispy. I came on a Saturday and there was a line as expected. It did seem like the wait was ridiculously long; I joined the company of others who were also feeling the wait of our food to come out. What is the likelihood of me returning here? Probably 40% but it would be much higher if I didn't have to wait as long. Not THAT worth it. I enjoyed the cucumber mint lemonade- refreshing for a warm summer day! read more
Oversalted. Overpriced. Overhyped. Don't get me wrong- the food isn't terrible. The portions just do not justify the price tag. Let's take one of the better options- the prime ribeye dip. It's priced at $12 and absolutely tiny. I would need two of them to fill me up, granted, I have a voracious appetite. Why is hipster food so expensive, you may ask? Location. Most of the food at the Packing House is mediocre but with sky high price tags. I don't mind shelling out for a fantastic meal but you won't find absolutely stellar meals at The Kroft. Their porchetta sandwich and braised short rib poutines are also safe bets if you find yourself at the Packing House. I've been to the Anaheim Packing district before to just get dessert but this time we ended up eating at the Kroft. Its a small place, you have to order first at the counter and wait for your food, then you can find a seat somewhere and eat. The gal at the register was friendly and very helpful. I ordered the Porchetta sandwich, my husband ordered the prime rib dip and we both had the braised short rib poutine! I'm definitely a meat eater and I loved every single thing that we ordered!!! The porchetta was so good!! It had the right amount of seasoning, tasty and juicy! The Poutine was super delish! One of the best poutine I've tasted! Who doesn't love braised short ribs? Prime rib dip was very good as well!! I will definitely be coming back to this place! And the fact that it's in the packing house it a plus! read more

I finally get to pay a visit to the popular packing house and the Kroft is the first place I pay a visit to. The deciding factor? ...POUTINE! Goodness. If you never had poutine, you are definitely missing out. It's a Canadian creation of french fries smothered with gravy and cheese curds. BEST idea, everrrrr. Of course, the Kroft adds an extra flair to theirs. I went with their Braised Short Rib Poutine ($9) and it was amazing. They added a generous portion of red onions for garnish. I saw some friends order their Loco Moco Poutine ($10) and that was amazing looking as well. I'm a sucker for anything with egg. The boyfriend got their Prime Ribeye Dip Sandwich ($12) and it was good, but nothing spectacular for the price. It was rather small portion-wise with no sides included. I was tempted to try their appetizers as well. Too bad my stomach was filled to the brim already. If you're undecided on what to try during your visit here, the Kroft is a solid choice. I think anyone and everyone NEEDS to have poutine during their lifetime. read more

It's so fun to try new places in the Anaheim Packing House! This is a lunch/dinner place that is located on the lower level. Other reviews mentioned that the line is usually pretty long, but we got very lucky with absolutely no one in line! However, we walked by about 30 minutes later and there were about 10 groups in line, so we must have been very lucky! Our cashier was SUPER helpful, as we were quite unsure what to get. She talked us through the menu, and we both decided to get the special, which was a Thanksgiving Sandwich (turkey, cranberry cause, stuffing, mayo). We also got fried cheese curds, and a cucumber mint lemonade. If you can get to The Kroft before thanksgiving, I would HIGHLY recommend this sandwich! The slices of turkey were very thick, and the sandwich overall was just so delicious. Since there was so much in the sandwich, we both only ate half the sandwich, realizing we should have just split, oh well! Also, I cannot speak highly enough of the fried cheese curds. We got them with a spicy garlic mayo sauce, and they were just so amazing. I'm a sucker for cheese AND spicy mayo, so the two combined? I was in heaven. The lemonade was pretty good too! It kind of reminded me of a mojito - minus the alcohol. Although there isn't that much seating in The Kroft, you are in the Packing House! So there are plenty of other areas to sit. However, we did find seating at the actual restaurant, and it was pretty nice! They do have a TV, but we didn't pay any attention to it. Located on the first floor next to the Vietnamese place and across from the bulk goods. Ordered--- Short rib poutine, $9: poutine + short rib, pickled onion, and mushrooms. YUM! Fried chicken sandwich, $8.50: fried chicken and coleslaw. we were told it was spicy by the cashier, but it didn't taste spicy at all. The food was good, I think it's definitely a place to try in the APH. It's not overrated or pricey like some of the other places. read more
Did someone say LOCO MOCO!! I think I'm on a kick now and if there is something on the sign that says "today's special" I'm in. and today's special just happened to be Loco Moco Poutine. Although i'm still not sure what a poutine is.. but if you put gravy, cheese, a fried egg and a little spice on top of fresh cut french fries.. I dont care what you call it., as long as you call it awesome. Comfort food at it's best. For all Canadians, they serve poutine here. This place is not good for vegetarians. I ended up ordering the side of loaded potato salad without bacon bits and garlic fries. My husband ordered the braised short ribs poutine. The garlic fries was not what I expected. They do use raw garlic and so it was very garlic spicy. It was too oily for my taste. The loaded potato salad had too much mayo to it. After eating the two items my stomach was not happy with. Not sure I will go back. read more
The Kroft is everything! One of those places where the hype IS real, one of those meals where you try to figure out how quickly you can come back here again to have more. The short rib poutine if out of this world, for sure my new last thing I would want to eat in this world. Mainly because it is so heavy, filling and guilt ridden, that you really should not have it more than once. Or at least not to yourself, I shared with my husband, but this was one of the few times where I ate more than him, after a few glares from me, he just left the rest f the box up to me, good man. I am not much of a meat eater, especially not beef, but that short rib tho... I can't even beginn to explain the amazing flavors it has, super soft meat, the gravy, a dream, the fries great, the pickled onions added a refreshing crunch, it was just all in all a meal to remember forever! The cheese curds were not my thing, I let me son eat all of those, also not a fan of mozz or string cheese and that is what it tasted like. I also got the famous fried chicken sandwich and have to say it wasn't special. It was fried well and I did like the slaw but it was too spicy for me. Also the breaded chicken and all the bread was just too much carbs, not that I mind carbs it was just pretty monotone and flavorless would it not have been for the slaw. The Kroft is located in the Anaheim Packing House. I had seen pictures of the poutine here shortly after they opened and since I absolutely LOVE poutine and am constantly on a hunt for it, I knew I had to visit. Food: We've ordered the Short Rib Poutine, the Prime Rib sandwich, and the Fried Chicken sandwich the times we've come here. I've been let down every time they haven't had the Loco Moco Poutine available. But the Short Rib Poutine was pretty satisfying. The fries were still pretty crispy after being doused with gravy and tender meat, but the gravy wasn't too salty or overpowering. The cheese curds were like the cherries on top. It really complemented the dish. The Prime Rib sandwich was pretty good, although I'm not a huge fan of dipped sandwiches. I actually really enjoyed the Fried Chicken sandwich, even though it got really spicy towards the end with the jalapeños. Environment/Ambiance: The theme is mainly asian fusion, I think. They definitely have almost a rustic/hipster theme with the small space they have. Like all the other restaurants in the Anaheim Packing House, it's really small. There isn't much seating offered, but there's so much around the packing house. So feel free to take your food elsewhere if there's nowhere to sit. It can get a little crowded if there's a line and not much area to stand and wait. Service: Service wasn't super bad, but it wasn't great either. It's pretty hit or miss. On one occasion the cashier was really nice and helpful. On another occasion another cashier just walked away from the register when I walked up even though there was a huge line behind me. Someone else on the staff who was helping send out orders noticed that I wasn't being helped and jumped on the register. So of course I was confused about who was doing what. I've been disappointed in their service also because they tend to be really slow and they seem to have a lot of workers on staff at the same time. Tips: I've heard a lot about their lemonades and it sounds refreshing during this hot season. Definitely gotta try it next time. I have to say that this is probably the best restaurant in the Anaheim Packing House, but their service isn't the best. Hope they remedy that soon. read more
Very popular spot at the Anaheim Packing District! The line was the longest one for a food place so we decided to band wagon and join it as well. It took about 40 minutes to get to the front to place our order. We decided to order the short rib poutin fries and the prime rib sandwich. It took about another 20 minutes to get our food. They have a small seating area with a TV or you can take your food to the general seating area in the middle of the building. The poutin fries was drenched in gravy and the meat was super soft and chewy.. SO GOOD. The prime rib sandwich came with a bomb dip and tasted great. They have a few beers on tap but we had some beer from the Iron Press upstairs while we were waiting in line. The fries were $9 and the sandwich was $12. Very filling and I'd def come back! read more

We walked into the building determined to try something different and new. Both of us: "What's poutine?" Hahaha! So clueless, we are. Googled it while standing in front of The Kroft. Him: "French fries. That sounds good." He's had smothered fries at other places and liked them well enough. We might as well try this Canadian version too! The hubby also loves the Hawaiian Loco Moco which was listed on the menu board so that could be a win-win. We decided to split an order of that and also a sandwich. They were temporarily out of my first choice of Porchetta, so we went with the Short Rib Melt. Note: Had I seen that Porchetta roll quietly sitting there on the end of the counter, that would have been my choice! It looked gorgeous. I spotted it afterwards on our way out of the building and clutched my heart. It's always been on my foodie bucket list. We were handed a pager. What's gas money? What's driving? I don't care, I'm coming back for my 2nd Porchetta sandwich. Like holy mother- that was AMAZINGLY and WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS. IT. IS. SOOOOOO. GOOOOOOD. Let me just tell you, you ARE getting what you pay for. The massive amount of meat layered on a generous amount of salsa verde with arugula type vegetables inside the glorious ciabatta...oh my...absolutely amazing...no more adjectives or words to describe the sandwich. What we ordered: Porchetta Sandwich- 5/5 *HIGHLY recommended*- Delicious, delicious, delicious. If you're not getting this, you're spending your money wrong. The meat was so juicy and tender and they mix it with cracklings (similar to crunchy pork skin type) so once in a while you'll chew on a crunchy salty piece within your epicly yummy sandwich. I got extremely full 1/3rd into the sandwich so you know they're giving you the whole deal. Just get this...and you'll know what true foodgasm is. Braised Short Rib Poutine- 4.5/5- THANK YOU CANADA. Thank you for inventing this wonderful amazing combination of eating fries. This was my first poutine ever, and I loved it. They give a pretty decent amount of meat combined with cheese, onions, cilantro, and sautéed mushrooms. Simply amazing. Every bite was unreal. Try their Louisiana Hot sauce.
